Hey everyone. I will be participating in my weekly segment on SuperSport 930 out of Jackson, Miss., in a bit. That extravaganza will begin around 9:07 a.m. CST. There will be a podcast later in the day in case you miss the fun.
It typically streams live, so please enjoy the segment digitally if you're so inclined.
You on the radio from the stadium?
ReplyDeleteLIVE FROM NEW YORK! ITSSSSSS...
ReplyDeleteWell. I guess Jackson on Friday morning works too.
Jay is the misunderstood artist. I like where this is going. The children's book idea is a great venue for expanding the HABOTN to all four corners of the universe.
ReplyDeleteI think we could pen a great book here ... aimed at children.
ReplyDeleteStart with some invalid speculation, add in some secret intelligence from mom and you've got the makings of the next Where The Wild Things Are.
(I am at home. I must leave for the stadium once this segment ends.)
Radio good
ReplyDeleteDANG busy morning and missed the radio segment. I enjoy listening to them. My loss.
ReplyDeleteSo Freeman is still on the team?? That is good news, now if he will just live up to all the hipe.
Golden Corral for your birthday...nice.
ReplyDeleteOnly as a ploy to frustrate my wife, who said I could eat anywhere.
ReplyDeleteHer mistake.
The chili there actually was quite good.
ReplyDeleteI miss Golden Corral. Used to eat there often. In Opelika and in B'ham.
ReplyDeleteAlas, there is no GC here in NW Abalama
Do you have Ryan's? It's approximate.
ReplyDeleteI'm headed to the stadium.
ReplyDeleteTalk to you then.
Personal announcement: I am proposing to my girlfriend tonight! Please help me pray fro no rain in Dallas!
ReplyDeleteWe do have a Ryan's and it is much improved over what it used to be. It is a semi-frequent after-church destination for the family.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Taylor.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Taylor.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Taylor. That moment was one of the most nervous of my life. I knew my wife would say yes, but it was still nerve raking.
ReplyDeleteTaylor ...
ReplyDeleteLet's not be hasty.
I wasn't too nervous when I proposed. There was no drama involved, since I took away any reservations my girlfriend may have had by getting her pregnant.
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle, Taylor!
ReplyDeleteI hope your intended is not as unnerved by the whole process as I was.
And I hope it doesn't rain on you.
Taylor - best of luck.
ReplyDeleteMJT - you keep telling yourself that but that won't make it true. She has PLENTY of reservations about you.
Good luck Taylor.
ReplyDeleteWhen I proposed to Wifey Miller it was at a fancy restaurant. I had told them to hold our meal until after the festivities. She was hungry. Bad mistake. She didn't hear a word I said, nor did she see me on my knee with a ring in the midst of her complaining about the food taking so long. Until she heard someone exclaim, "I think that guy is proposing!".
Then, she didn't even eat. At least the meal was comp'd.
michael, i didn't take you for that kind of girl
ReplyDeleteI'm headed to SanDestin today for a friend's wedding.
ReplyDeleteShould be a nice weekend.
My proposal to my wife unnerved me for a different reason. I was planning to propose on New Year's Eve, so had the bright idea of taping the ring to the end of her noise-maker (the kind that unroll when you blow them). Well, right before midnight we are standing on a dance floor in semi-darkness with about 500 people, and I start picturing the ring flying across the room. I try to tell her not to blow her noise-maker too hard, but she can't hear me. Then, when she actually blows it, I can't see whether the ring is still on the end. Fortunately, it was. Good thing Publix wasn't around back then. I probably would have bought Publix brand tape, and that ring would have been long gone.
ReplyDeleteAnybody going to see the Braves this weekend? I am going either tomorrow night or Sunday. Leaning toward Sunday at this point.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Taylor! Hope it is a great weekend for ya'll
ReplyDeletethanks guys! im nervous about the rain, and a little nervous about the proposal, mostly excited though. just really want to make her feel special!
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago, we were at a family reunion weekend in Gatlinburg when one of Mrs. Jet's cousins planned to use the trip as an opportunity to propose to his girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteHe decided he would propose to her on the ski chair lift that takes you from downtown Gatlinburg to up on the mountain. He asked one of his cousins to sit in the chair in front and video tape the event.
When it gets to the big moment, Mrs. Jet cousin professes his undying love for the young lady, then pulls out the ring. She shrieks in excitement. He attempts to place ring on her finger, but messes up and drops the ring into the woods below. That led to an even greater shriek.
For 30 seconds, it was absolute panic, as they looked for landmarks so they could attempt to find the needle in the haystack on a hillside. Then Mrs. Jet's cousin pulled the real ring out and placed it on her finger.
Everyone was happy. Until they weren't. They never even made to wedding day before they broke up.
Then again, one of my good friends asked the woman he was dating (that he also worked with) if she wanted to go get married at lunch break. She said yes. They did. (Tennessee doesn't require blood tests), and they've been married more than 35 years.
UMS-Wright ahead 6-2, top 5.
ReplyDeletehaha that is some serious substance Jet
ReplyDeleteThe HABOTN sends its official support toward Taylor this evening.
ReplyDeleteMine occurred in Lexington, Ky.
No additional details to be relayed.
We do it right in Tennessee.
ReplyDeleteTaylor...if you don't find this question too intrusive, what might your plan of proposal be?
My proposal? Thanks for asking. Well, we were at dinner 5 other couples. Everyone at the table except for Hot Wife knew what was coming. After dinner, I make some toast about friends and all that crap, one of my buddies slides the table out from under us giving me room to drop to a knee. Question asked and answered, applause and well wishes from our friends and fellow diners/strangers, a free bottle of champagne and now here I am.
ReplyDeleteGood story, Jet!
ReplyDeleteNew (baseball) thread UPZ.
ReplyDeleteNorm, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteA good time had by all.
