Reportage from Sandestin, Day 3

Hey everyone. I write for a living. I get paid because you read the things I write. So please, help a journalist and read the following pieces of prose.

*`Saban Rule' bumped

*Le Notebook (includes basketball items, Barbee involved with both)

  2. I'll read it all, JGT. I hope that gets you a bonus.

  3. Tell DL to turn his speakers down, I can hear them from here.

  4. Mute your television, please.

  5. I wish I were near my television.

  6. yeah everybody help JG get P-A-I-D.

  7. If I read those at MA online earlier this morning, do I need to read them again here since you've linked them for us?

  8. I mean, if it helps a brotha out, I'll do it.

  9. I like the savvy-journalist-knows-his-audience play at the end of the Saban-bump article, JGT.

OF COURSE a head coach should stay home, spend some time with the kids he's committed to shepherd during their years on campus, and enjoy a little spring rah-rah with the alumni.

But that's the difference between "raising Auburn men" and "evil tahd empire".

It's a good day to hate bammer. Go Phoenix!

  10. Y'all lost me on speakers and televisions.

    Great reports, Sportswriter Tate. Thanks!!!

If I read them again in a different web browser, will they jack up your salary?

  11. Nice coverage JayG. Thanks.

Liked that Barbee used the word "druthers".

  12. FUTBOL

I know JayG has the World Cup blog, and I posted this over there, but England defender and captain Rio Ferdinand is out of the World Cup.

That's substantial b/c the good old US of A plays England in little more than a week.

  13. so, i gather that the Chiz & the Sabanator do not agree on this issue.

Chiz want to stay at home & see his own players while Satan wants to troll the high schools & evaluate recruits himself. interesting.

  14. how long does this world cup thing last? all summer?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Assuming we can keep Luper-Trooper together for another year or two, I'm ok with HC's staying at home and assistants being out on the road.

Blackhawks @ Flyers tonight at 8 pm, Game 4.

  17. What is this "world cup" of which you speak? That's the thing they play with the round, spotty ball, right?

  26. Eddie, that was a cool ad you posted on the last thread. The Homer Simpson / Ronaldo bit definitely got a laugh out of me.

  37. Inglorious Basterds. first thing that popped in my mind when you said Germans.

"hey donnie! got us a german that wants to die for his country...abliiige him!"

  40. Inglorious Basterds is one of the worst films I've ever seen.

ScottyB ...thanks for those quotes. I've watched that movie twice and may have to go buy it.

The jury is still out, but IB may stand the test of time and rank up there with OJW or Shawshank.

  42. this from the guy who's jacked to see 'Get Him to the Greek'?

    :P

    get some Seanzie!

    ReplyDelete
  43. First of all, Russell Brand is awesome. Second of all, if anyone other than Tarantino does that movie, it gets eviscerated by the critics.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Pulp Fiction is still my fav movie of his.

    ReplyDelete
  45. scottie, I am just glad the movie has gotten you to change your name. I was sick of ctrl +f'n my name to see if anyone addressed me and keep running into "carmichael" over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anonymous11:23 AM

Tarantino "ain't skeered" to tell a story.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm a huge fan of Kill Bill Vol. 1.

    ReplyDelete
  48. michael, sl;dkj;salk sldkfjs alkjs sljd!!!!!

  49. Nice articles JayG.

I will agree with Miles on this rule. AN awful big chance that violations will occur. Who on here thinks a HS coach, that likes a certian university (no matter which one), would allow the college HC to sit down for a long time and tlak to a recuit?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Kill Bill Volume 1 is good no doubt, but Volume 2 was even better I thought. Not quite the action of the first one, but I enjoyed the story a lot more in the second one.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I will say this, almost everything I have heard from Barbee is talk about the post season. I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. "War in Space" from 1977 is easily better than any of those movies.

    ReplyDelete
  53. scottchoc- you going to brewfest this weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh hi Harrison. How are you?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous11:39 AM

The interrogations by Col Hans Landa when "they-knew-that-he-knew-that-they-knew" were intense.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Harrison, that's a possibility. Are you going?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Were you Uncle Conrad and Aunt Ginny millionaires? Well, your Uncle Marsellus is. And I'm positive if Uncle Conrad and Aunt Ginny were millionaires, they would've furnished you with a whole bedroom set, which your Uncle Marsellus is more than happy to do. I like oak myself, that's what's in my bedroom. How 'bout you Jimmy, you an oak man?
