Has anyone found the connection to Auburn? That's pretty cool. If he were to be seen around the US with that hat it could only help our marketing and recruiting.
I will deflect credit to ElTurbo, who is in Austin, Texas, with his GF, who was taking her official visit to campus as an anticipated National Merit Finalist.
ElTurbo on UT ... "Unimpressed."
GF is considering Rice, UNC, Duke, Texas, Texas A&M, and Auburn. Duke is the early leader. Sorry, THT.
With that chiseled scowl, Leo looks like he's channeling for his future role in "The Gene Chizik Story" co-starring Matt Damon as Gustav Malzahn, Stanley Tucci as Nick Saban, Ron White as Ted Roof, Cuba Gooding Jr., as Trooper Taylor, Ethan Suplee as Jay Jacobs, John Mahoney as Mike Slive, and Richard Dreyfuss as Bobby Lowder.
As promised on the previous thread, here is a picture of Trooper, me, and sis - taken today at the Holiday Inn at PCB, FL. The trip is already a success.
Heck no. I was so excited I almost tripped getting out of my pool chair. He definitely wasn't undercover, all decked out in his signature hat and with a stack of business cards at the ready. I was tickled pink.
I must get a few hours of snoring in before the 16 hour shift starts at the BuyMore. Sweet AU dreams, Hotties. Make them extra sweet and sprinkle a little bammer hate in them.
2.0 opens the back door at 5 a.m. to go out for a 3 mile walk. My instant unspoken reaction, "Wow, she's up awful early." MrsTHT wakes up and exclaims loudly, "Oh lordy, someone is coming in our back door!"
Norm, the only issue I had with Adam West was that he was a bit portly for a superhero. His acting skills were unmatched though (as Michael pointed out in the previous thread with the Shark repellant line), so I think he was able to rise above his physical limitations.
Does anyone know if it been decided whether Etheridge has fully recovered from his neck injury and he will be able to contribute again this year? I'm kind of surprised by Hood's departure, but maybe his departure is a sign of Etheridge's health?
Zookeeper - remember that time when I told you you were my favorite but asked you not to tell the others? Yeah, I was just kidding. You're not my favorite.
1. I finally decided to pull for Espana because of those memories from high school when Norm insisted on wearing lederhosen every day.
2. It was still a difficult choice because it meant that Col. Klink and Sgt. Schultz would be sent to the Russian Front.
3. But those jack@$$es Gen. Burkhalter and Maj. Hochstetter can freeze their butts off for all I care.
4. I remember when the TG&Y opened in Montgomery. Burt Ward, aka Robin, was there to sign autographs. I thought he was quite creepy. History proved me correct.
A cursory glance at Burt Ward's wikipedia page reveals nothing creepy... did you have a personal experience with him that you would like to share, Jet?
This was likely already posted here in the past, but just in case, to honor of the German World Cup representation, one of the best flops in the world was performed by a German...
I don't understand Hood's departure, although I doubt he would have been a starter. He did play a lot last season as the nickle DB and on the kicking teams.
Our secondary isn't that deep, but there are options this year. A guy named Trovon Reid is suppose to be able to play multiple positions and many of the other WRs could make the switch if needed.
Hood leaving isn't a killer for the defense, but I do wonder why.
I'd much rather help him, but unfortunately we aren't aloud. When he decides to leave the donut on, and has a blowout 2 months from now, he will sue me and the department. The world is so sue happy.
Blame all your lawyer friends...
Besides, I'm only halfway through my dozen donuts.
To whomever made the comment yesterday(?) about getting the long-lived ding dong quote off the front page...
I thought 2.0's comments last week about some dude's dentition were frontpage-worthy. However, such comments made during World Cup season are likely to go unnoticed.
Haha, I missed the news that Lane was back to his old tricks of accusing other schools of cheating. At least this time he didn't go up against coaches he has to play.
I agree. Thinking 8-4 or 9-3. Anything more would be a heck of a season. Still lack depth. Still lack dominating players. Less than 8 wins would be a step backward.
We shouldn't really have the depth issues this season, although experience could end up becoming the issue. I think we will have 83 on scholarship this season considering Hood has left.
My guess is 9-3, but I am assuming the offense will be as good as last season and the defense will be much improved. Also, I am assuming punt returns have to get better.
11-1 with loss to LSU or Arky? I don't think that's unreasonable if the bounces go our way.
However comma I can't imagine either of those teams going undefeated or with only 1 loss in conference. I think your projection would put us safely in SECCG.
if AU can put a wac offense on the field that can consistently score in the 30-40s, lack of defensive depth should not be an issue.
they key is going to be keeping the pedal to the metal on offense. AU had ut sucking wind midway through the 2nd last year and then went into a slump and they recovered to make a game of it. this team should own the 4th if they maintain the pace.
we all know there is nothing more demoralizing to a defense than to have the qb scramble for a 1st after you have fought to get them in a 3rd & 7+ situation and covered all the wrs. AU has that capability this year for the first time since 04.
This season I consider 8 wins the criteria for a successful season. Anything less would be disappointing.
As for the Bleacher Report, it is good reading as long as you don't confuse it with reality. B/R is still a few notches up the food chain for al.com forums.
it also usually makes your d much better when you play from ahead. giving up 14+ point leads has been AU's m.o. the last few years, but that was because someone would dump a bucket of cold water (aka the wildcat) on the offense when it caught fire. i'm looking in gus' direction on that one... having a qb capable of gaining positive yards with his feet when all else fails is going to be a humongonormous shot in the arm for the AU o.
Bama has a much tougher schedule this season since they play Penn State and Florida during the regular season.
For the last couple of seasons I have considered the SEC West a bit down. Both LSU and Auburn have had issues. Auburn should be improved and if LSU isn't, I wonder who the new head coach would be?
Arkansas and Ole Miss could both end up being decent, too.
MSU is the first team I think has a shot to upset us. Mullen nearly upset LSU last season and simply spanked Ole Nutt.
What I hope to see is Auburn start the season clicking on offense, like we did last season. Under Tuberville, it usually took a few games before the offense really got rolling.
UT supposedly had a very good recruiting class under Kiffikin. I know they had to have lost some from this last class, but they should be competitive. A 7-5 season seems reasonable to me, but a lot of it has to do with how good South Carolina and Kentucky turn out being.
They did have a good class but they lost some players to graduation and attrition. I really don't expect them to be very good this year. That is no reflection on DD's ability to coach.
Yea, Brice Brown leaving didn't help. I do think the UT fans will give him a bit of time. They got kiffiscrewed so quick they have to be looking for some kind of stability.
With Clempson, South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU, and Georgia all coming to JHS; it does seem like our schedule is working for us this year. Auburn's schedule always looks better on even number years.
since IB came to campus, Ath. Dept. has decided that they can have as weak a schedule as they want in IB years and still sell season tix, but need strong home schedule in non-IB years to keep sales up.
I knew we were going to beat UT in '72, and I knew beyond any shadow of a doubt we would win IB in '72(even when it was 0-16 in 4th qtr). Beyond that, I know zero.
Sometimes I find the comments on Newton positively Kodirific. The question mark isn't if he can run the ball. The question is can he pass the ball and direct the offense well enough. There are probably a dozen players on the team that could run the ball as well or better.
Now, the guys at the Bleacher Report just came up with some interesting analysis by comparing the weights of defenses. After an in depth review of the data, I conclude that it is a bunch of crap. It would be easy to have the heaviest defense in the SEC, and thus the best. Just what are these guys thinking?
THT, It's more like drop and give me 50, now give me 50 more! I may not be the fastest, strongest one in boot camp, but I am kicking booty!
Norm, Sorry you aren't feeling well. How is your eye? Mine is still driving me crazy, but nothing compared to yours. Hope you feel better before the weekend!
Would you feel better if the earth opened up and swallowed that despicable town in west Vance? Yes, you would. See, it is UA-T's fault that you're feeling poorly today.
We can blame them, certainly. I always do. All of my troubles stem from them, not a former President. I've been battling a particularly nasty sinus infection for over a week. You can imagine the particulars associated. Last night/this morning I woke up around 3a with a splitting headache and never was able to get back to sleep.
The usual adult dose is 1 Augmentin 500 mg tablet every 12 hours... For more severe infections and infections of the respiratory tract, the dose should be 1 Augmentin 875 mg tablet every 12 hours or 1 Augmentin 500 mg tablet every 8 hours.
That's what Dr. Habotn, Team Physician, takes for his sinus infections.
I've been taking 875mg Augmentin every 12 hours along with the Sudafed they keep behind the pharmacy counter for almost a week now. Not much improvement.
AU substance!
ReplyDeleteI love new thread substance.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to type something prophetic and get the huge ding dong off the front page.
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle Leo!
ReplyDeleteAlumni Assoc had posted pic on Facebook earlier today.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone found the connection to Auburn? That's pretty cool. If he were to be seen around the US with that hat it could only help our marketing and recruiting.
ReplyDeleteNo connection....he has a big collection of college hats...just wondered how he got it.
ReplyDeleteLeo apparently has a collection of caps.
ReplyDeleteLeo was wearing a West Virginia Mountaineers hat during the Germany-Argentina game earlier/later that day in Cape Town.
ReplyDeleteWell buddy, which is it?
What do you expect from a Ninja Turtle?
ReplyDeleteDon't speak ill of ninja turtles, Steve.
ReplyDeleteI'll warn you only once.
Why are there 0 comments on the front and about 10 already....when do we get a new blog?
ReplyDeleteI will deflect credit to ElTurbo, who is in Austin, Texas, with his GF, who was taking her official visit to campus as an anticipated National Merit Finalist.
ReplyDeleteElTurbo on UT ... "Unimpressed."
GF is considering Rice, UNC, Duke, Texas, Texas A&M, and Auburn. Duke is the early leader. Sorry, THT.
Hood has transferred to Alabama State?
ReplyDeleteSlow time for news...
ReplyDeleteWith that chiseled scowl, Leo looks like he's channeling for his future role in "The Gene Chizik Story" co-starring Matt Damon as Gustav Malzahn, Stanley Tucci as Nick Saban, Ron White as Ted Roof, Cuba Gooding Jr., as Trooper Taylor, Ethan Suplee as Jay Jacobs, John Mahoney as Mike Slive, and Richard Dreyfuss as Bobby Lowder.
ReplyDeleteJay G man crush Madison Bumgarner earns his first major league win.
ReplyDeleteWho will play Tommy Tuberville? Dana Carvey? Specifically while channeling his George H. W. Bush impression?
ReplyDeleteAU related news: D'Antione Hood is no longer w/ the team at AU. He will transfer to Alabama State and play there this fall.
ReplyDeleteNice thought, E-Bro. Though, there is a HABOTNista who has a passing resemblance to the former coach.
ReplyDeleteDo tell.
ReplyDeleteAs promised on the previous thread, here is a picture of Trooper, me, and sis - taken today at the Holiday Inn at PCB, FL. The trip is already a success.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'll hold on to that one for a while.
ReplyDeleteSo where were you guys at Puppet Hour today? I really laid it all out on the line, and you just left me hanging!
ReplyDeleteAPI ...
ReplyDeleteYour story of meeting Trooper reminds me of the Lana Turner scene from "L.A. Confidential."
I was promised a new blog by July 1. What else can I say?
ReplyDeleteAPI........very nice!
ReplyDeleteJay..maybe they meant July 7.
ReplyDeleteYeah. That's it. July 7.
ReplyDeleteI'll come home and it'll all be ready for me! Wooooo.
July 1, 2020.
ReplyDeleteGood night all........zzzzzzz
ReplyDeleteDuke sux.
ReplyDeletebut I won't argue about the 15% wireless discount.
Jet with the excellent memory.
ReplyDeleteAPI ... I hope you didn't call Trooper a "ho."
ReplyDeleteHeck no. I was so excited I almost tripped getting out of my pool chair. He definitely wasn't undercover, all decked out in his signature hat and with a stack of business cards at the ready. I was tickled pink.
ReplyDeleteI must get a few hours of snoring in before the 16 hour shift starts at the BuyMore. Sweet AU dreams, Hotties. Make them extra sweet and sprinkle a little bammer hate in them.
ReplyDeleteNight hotties. I'm out.
ReplyDeleteSnoop Dogg would say Duke is in a rough neighborhood. She may want to reconsider.
ReplyDeleteAs for Leo, it is nice he is helping us make inroads into that South African recruiting hotbed.
As for Hood, I wish him well. I hadn't been hearing playing time associated with him, so maybe this is best.
TIme to RISE and SHINE Hotties! It's almost daylight.
ReplyDeleteWarrrrrrr Eagle tutti
Off to another morning at bootcamp! Have a great Auburn day, Hotties!!
ReplyDeleteGood mooning! Good mooning! Good mooning!
ReplyDeleteMorning folks.
ReplyDeletebaldy - Adam West "Batman" and Burt Ward "Robin" to this day rank as one of my favorite movies and tv series.
API - that's a cool memory you have there.
So...Wade and Bosh to Miami...LeBron to have an ESPN Special to announce he is going to Cleveland. Free Agency talk is overrated.
ReplyDeleteNorm- I agree about Batman and Robin, but I now know Adam West better for his character Mayor Adam West. Love that character.
ReplyDeleteI loved that Batman and Robin. Although I constantly heard, "Hey, Robin, where's Batman?"
ReplyDeleteso what is the background story on hood??
ReplyDeleteis the competition for CB that strong... I hope it is, that tells me that all of the injured players coming back are solid...
any scoop...
I hope Germany beats the Spaniards today.
ReplyDeleteViva España!
ReplyDeleteMayor Adam West is a great public servant.
ReplyDeleteCan't decide between Espana and Germany.
OK, I'm watching "Silent Library" for the first time.
ReplyDeleteThis is something else.
Mayor West is indeed a great public servant.
ReplyDeleteDon't care one iota between Germany and Spain.
In more important news; Generalisimo Francisco Franco is STILL dead.
Mayor Adam West is great at poking fun at himself. With all the ego-maniacs in that industry, anyone that can do that gets my respect.
ReplyDelete59 days til kickoff. Yep, we've got it down to the FIFTIES!
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!!
WARRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
2.0 opens the back door at 5 a.m. to go out for a 3 mile walk. My instant unspoken reaction, "Wow, she's up awful early." MrsTHT wakes up and exclaims loudly, "Oh lordy, someone is coming in our back door!"
ReplyDeleteJet...how about a little tale of the tape?
ReplyDeleteFranco vs Hitler - Advantage...Spain
Alps vs Pyrenees - Advantage...Push
Inquisition vs Holocaust - Advantage...Spain
Barcelona vs Munich - Advantage...Push
Tapas vs Pretzel - Advantage...Spain
Spanish Wine vs German Beer -Advantage...Germany
There you have it. Spain comes out ahead in the tale of the tape. Viva España!
mrs. scottie wakes me up twice last nite thinking someone is in our house. it was fantastic. i'm soooo sleepy.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY #59 CHRIS EVANS DAY!
No one EXPECTS the Inquisition!
ReplyDeleteNorm, the only issue I had with Adam West was that he was a bit portly for a superhero. His acting skills were unmatched though (as Michael pointed out in the previous thread with the Shark repellant line), so I think he was able to rise above his physical limitations.
ReplyDelete#59 - DAYS TILL 2010 AUBURN FOOTBALL!
ReplyDeleteA pretzel? Come on man.
ReplyDeleteGermanys vast array of tasty sausages tops tapas.
I'm getting hungry.
Does anyone know if it been decided whether Etheridge has fully recovered from his neck injury and he will be able to contribute again this year? I'm kind of surprised by Hood's departure, but maybe his departure is a sign of Etheridge's health?
ReplyDeleteDr. Bunsen Honeydew, er, I mean, eyhou...
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking more along the lines of a snack. German sausage is great (she said that), but I usually eat it with my meal in Germany.
Besides that, I'm purposefully tipping the scale in my team's balance. Viva España!
Youngest Daughter is sick today and I'm home with her which means....World Cup in Hi-Def...YES!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGeht Deutschland!
Germany vs Spain. In regards to WC, I don't even remotely care. In regards to food, my preference would be Spain.
ReplyDelete2.0? I'm thinking Spain, assuming she even remotely cared.
LGGB? I'm thinking Germany, and yes, he cares a great deal.
those are just guesses
MrsTHT - great minds think alike; she would echo my sentiments.
I like Leo...that is all.
ReplyDelete2.0's alright with me, then.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Traffic Feed, Selm, Germany just checked in. They're probably here to straighten out ebro.
ReplyDeleteDoes E-Bro fear the Germans?
ReplyDeleteNEIN! NEIN! NEIN! NEIN!
Not afraid?
ReplyDeleteYou will be. You...will...be.
If you only knew the power of the dark side...
ReplyDeleteDo not toy with the dark side young ebro, or you will end up on a motivational poster.
ReplyDeletewe've already officially hit 100 degrees today by noon, tying the record high. Thanks to the record low humidity, it only feels like 98.
ReplyDeletei like Leo's girlfriend. that is all. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou mean...you ONLY like turtles?
ReplyDeleteBecause that's kind of weird.
I do not like soccer so in this case I don't like Germany or Spain.
ReplyDeleteI do not like Leonardo DiCaprio. I do like his hat, I have a few just like it. I don't know who his girlfriend is, I don't keep up with such things.
I think Michael is also fond of goats.
ReplyDeleteAlso, someone tweeted this and I thought it was funny:
Twilight's like soccer. They run around for 2 hours, nobody scores, and its billion fans insist you just don't understand.
that's hilarious, Kristina. I think 2.0 and MrsTHT are going to see it today. For once, I'm glad to be at work.
ReplyDeleteNerd alert.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up, but I really don't think you need to alert us of your presence, Norm. We know you're here.
ReplyDeleteNo no no good Ebro, I like many things. I was just following the post structure that preceded mine. UNDERSTAND!?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I like turtles (and yes Kresttinnuh, goats too).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y
Ooooooooooo, Hotties calling each other nerds. Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
ReplyDeleteZookeeper - remember that time when I told you you were my favorite but asked you not to tell the others? Yeah, I was just kidding. You're not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYou really know how to hurt a girl, Norm.
ReplyDeleteOOOHHHHHH!
ReplyDeleteFIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
ReplyDeleteI'll fight for...
ReplyDeleteok, for Scottie B...
ReplyDeleteHelloooooo Kennesaw, GA!!!
Not that anyone here cares, but Wade and Bosh will be playing together at Miami. Should be a good team next year.
ReplyDeleteBosh = overrated.
ReplyDeleteThey will definitely be better, but still won't be an elite team.
Quit - yes, yes I do.
ReplyDeleteBut do you know how to dispose of a dead body discretely?
ReplyDeleteI've never felt the need to dispose of one. I leave it as a grisly reminder to others that I'm not to be crossed.
ReplyDeleteI understand and agree with that sentiment, Norm, but as a business owner I must act a little more responsibly than that.
ReplyDeleteNothing like having to go to the office for 2 hours ... during vacation.
ReplyDeleteBut they like me, they really, really like me.
Finish up a 1:30 meeting, and back on vacation ... allegedly.
Just in time for Spain-Germany. I'll catch it at the house later tonight where I think even E-Dad might check it out.
ReplyDeleteJet Notes ...
ReplyDelete1. I finally decided to pull for Espana because of those memories from high school when Norm insisted on wearing lederhosen every day.
2. It was still a difficult choice because it meant that Col. Klink and Sgt. Schultz would be sent to the Russian Front.

4. I remember when the TG&Y opened in Montgomery. Burt Ward, aka Robin, was there to sign autographs. I thought he was quite creepy. History proved me correct.
That SS Maj. Hochstetter was truly a despicable character.
ReplyDeleteA cursory glance at Burt Ward's wikipedia page reveals nothing creepy... did you have a personal experience with him that you would like to share, Jet?
ReplyDeleteThis was likely already posted here in the past, but just in case, to honor of the German World Cup representation, one of the best flops in the world was performed by a German...

Germany vs Spain?
ReplyDeleteSpain has Costa del Sol, Paella and Penelope Cruz
nuf said....
Nothing personal, Michael, but Burt Ward's autobiography certainly made him out to be a creeper.
ReplyDeleteOf course, he could pull the Charles Barkley stunt and say he was misquoted in his autobiography.
Details man, details. I suspect that I'm not the only one among us who hasn't yet read the Autobiography of Burt Ward.
ReplyDeleteDoes it have to do with puppets, Jet?
ReplyDeleteI don't understand Hood's departure, although I doubt he would have been a starter. He did play a lot last season as the nickle DB and on the kicking teams.
ReplyDeleteOur secondary isn't that deep, but there are options this year. A guy named Trovon Reid is suppose to be able to play multiple positions and many of the other WRs could make the switch if needed.
Hood leaving isn't a killer for the defense, but I do wonder why.
It appears Scarbinsky has caught on to Tuberville making some comments about the Big12. You just can't hide anything from that guy.
ReplyDeleteIs there a chance that Roderick Hood can come back to replace him?
ReplyDeleteCarnal knowledge of puppets, Michael.
ReplyDeleteIt is shameful.
Let's bring things full circle here:
ReplyDeleteColonel Klink + Batman and non-cincy Robin

8+ down, 7+ to go here at BuyMore SuperCenter.

Leonardo DiCaprio? Yeah, that's strange.

ReplyDeletewrong account again, eh PF?
ReplyDeleteNo, sloppy link.
ReplyDeleteI guess our basketball schedule is still "day by day"
ReplyDeletewow, that was loud. It startled some of the BuyMore customers.
ReplyDeleteday to day...They'll have it finalized by late February, I'm sure...
ReplyDeleteI have 893 messages in my inbox. I never look past 20 or so.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were hanging with Bernie today?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the movie Grown Ups?
ReplyDeleteAdam Sandler's character is constantly wearing t shirts and hats from a large variety of Northeaster schools. I'm not real sure why.
Kinda leoish.
In an unrelated note, I am playing baby sitter with a guy who is changing his tire... and he really sucks at it.
ReplyDeleteUpdate: 15 minutes in, he has the tire off.
ReplyDeleteIt'd probably go quicker if you helped...dang jerk cops always just want to stand there and stare. :-P
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather help him, but unfortunately we aren't aloud. When he decides to leave the donut on, and has a blowout 2 months from now, he will sue me and the department. The world is so sue happy.
ReplyDeleteBlame all your lawyer friends...
Besides, I'm only halfway through my dozen donuts.
Allowed, too.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, Doughnuts.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm an idiot... thanks PF.
ReplyDeleteHe finally finished changing his tire... 30 minutes of my day off gone.
Better spent protecting him from other cars than arresting people for personal marijuana usage, if you ask me.
ReplyDelete/controversialpolitics
sorry, wake, that title has already been bestowed upon Seanzie.
ReplyDeletePF beat me too it; I was going to suggest that you help him quietly.
PF, I spent yesterday playing gin rummy with Bernie.
Can I be the buffoon?
ReplyDeleteOfficer Buffoon, the poster formerly known as Wake.
ReplyDeleteor you could just go ahead and change your handle to Deputy Fife.
ReplyDeleteTo whomever made the comment yesterday(?) about getting the long-lived ding dong quote off the front page...

wow, there are still 100 Fahrenheits outdoors this evening. I bet it hasn't been a degree over 72 all day in my little work closet.
ReplyDeleteUSCw apologizes to Gaytahs & Turds
ReplyDeleteUT-Knox follows AU's "lead", turns down offer to play USCw's Kiffikins in 2011 Chickafil Kickoff game.

You guys are a bunch of idiots!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I missed the news that Lane was back to his old tricks of accusing other schools of cheating. At least this time he didn't go up against coaches he has to play.
ReplyDeleteDid Tar break a record of consecutive posts?
ReplyDeletewell, if not, I'm pretty sure I tied it.
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to bet the record involves a flip at some point.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have grabbed that one going after a 4 A.M. flip one time.
So give me an early prediction on AU's record this year, not including a bowl game.
ReplyDelete8-4
ReplyDelete...that's on days I don't read BleacherReport.com
ReplyDeleteOn days it is read, 15-0
I agree. Thinking 8-4 or 9-3. Anything more would be a heck of a season. Still lack depth. Still lack dominating players. Less than 8 wins would be a step backward.

ReplyDeleteBINGO!
I long for the days of a completely and utterly dominating and demoralizing defensive front 4
11-1
ReplyDeleteloss to lsu or arky.
probably keeps AU out of seccg.
hey chip, was it the prunes or the corn?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is 9-3, but I am assuming the offense will be as good as last season and the defense will be much improved. Also, I am assuming punt returns have to get better.
ReplyDeleteTHT, a dominating tackle on defense is something we need badly. Simms and Marks were good, but we have been irratic there in recent years.
ReplyDelete11-1 with loss to LSU or Arky? I don't think that's unreasonable if the bounces go our way.

i'm counting on slive interceding and proclaiming bammer west division champs no matter what. they pay him well for a reason.
ReplyDeletenincompoopness aside, 9-3 or 10-2 is my realistic expectation.
ReplyDeleteit also usually makes your d much better when you play from ahead. giving up 14+ point leads has been AU's m.o. the last few years, but that was because someone would dump a bucket of cold water (aka the wildcat) on the offense when it caught fire. i'm looking in gus' direction on that one... having a qb capable of gaining positive yards with his feet when all else fails is going to be a humongonormous shot in the arm for the AU o.

football substance is the best substance. Now we're talking.
ReplyDeleteThis season just has a lot of intrigue.
ReplyDeleteHow the Jimbonoles will do should be interesting.
How many games will it take before Rod gets the shaft at Michigan?
How will Tuber Tech do? Will they still have the wide open offense? Will having a wide open offense kill Tuberville? Inquiring minds want to know.
Kiffikin getting Kiffiscrewed at USC.
Is Nutt a bust at Ole Nutt?
Is there any school in the country more screwed than Missouri? Is it possible to be more screwed than Missouri?
How will Iowa Rhoads do?
How many losses would it take to get a Dooley strung up on Rocky Top?
I think DD will do well at UT. Even though he's first year coach, they may improve a bit on last year's 7-5.
ReplyDelete10-2 and the Iron Bowl decides who goes to the SECCG.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm the life of parties that I never even attended.
I think UT only wins 4-5 games. They are seriously hurting in the talent department right now.
ReplyDeleteUT supposedly had a very good recruiting class under Kiffikin. I know they had to have lost some from this last class, but they should be competitive. A 7-5 season seems reasonable to me, but a lot of it has to do with how good South Carolina and Kentucky turn out being.
ReplyDeleteThey did have a good class but they lost some players to graduation and attrition. I really don't expect them to be very good this year. That is no reflection on DD's ability to coach.
ReplyDeleteYea, Brice Brown leaving didn't help. I do think the UT fans will give him a bit of time. They got kiffiscrewed so quick they have to be looking for some kind of stability.
ReplyDeleteWith Clempson, South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU, and Georgia all coming to JHS; it does seem like our schedule is working for us this year. Auburn's schedule always looks better on even number years.
ReplyDeleteSeeing Papelbon pitch in the 7th just seems weird.
ReplyDeleteAnything over 8 wins will make me happy. Barring anything crazy I think 10 games is a good goal.
But who saw us doing what we did in 04 before the season?
since IB came to campus, Ath. Dept. has decided that they can have as weak a schedule as they want in IB years and still sell season tix, but need strong home schedule in non-IB years to keep sales up.
ReplyDeleteI knew we were going to beat UT in '72, and I knew beyond any shadow of a doubt we would win IB in '72(even when it was 0-16 in 4th qtr). Beyond that, I know zero.
ReplyDeleteWhere is WTC? I need to know what his mom is hearing about recruiting.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if Cothron ever made it to school?
Iran has apparently banned Alabama fans from their country. How discriminatory.
ReplyDeleteSteve, they can get away with it if they wear a turban.
ReplyDeleteAlthought their cover will be blown by the fact that the turban is houndstooth.
I was at the '72 IB. My wifey worked summers with Greg Gant. He became the butt end of Punt Bammer Punt

America has no longer got talent. Three guys playing air guitar just made it to the next round.
ReplyDeleteRays sweep Boston again, that is always fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd Braves take 2 out of 3 in Philly.
ReplyDeletePlus, Spain versus the Netherlands in the World Cup Final on Sunday.
Good times all around.
Sometimes I find the comments on Newton positively Kodirific. The question mark isn't if he can run the ball. The question is can he pass the ball and direct the offense well enough. There are probably a dozen players on the team that could run the ball as well or better.
ReplyDeleteYep, thats great to see also as far as the Braves go.
ReplyDeleteThe World Cup isn't over yet? I thought Ghana won the championship match against the U.S.
ReplyDeleteE-Bro plays WC spoiler. I was going to watch the DVR when I got home tonight. Thanks a lot! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've had enough of this cesspool. I'm going home.
cesspool=work, not HABOTN!
a bunch of crap would definitely skew the bleacher report data.
ReplyDeletein the spirit of hate, i must give iranian president ahmedinejad props.
ReplyDeletethe death penalty to the infidels!!!! (aka: mullets, cousin-humpers, dentally-challenged, wal-martians, meth cookers...)
even a broken clock is right twice a day so i guess even he can get something right every now and then.
i assume hockey is also now banned in iran?
if he bans unitards, that means no more iranian hair metal bands either.
ReplyDeleteGuess what, Hotties? It's only 58 days til kickoff!
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!!
WARRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
Good morning, Hotties! Rise and shine!
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!!
WARRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
Good morning, THT and you other Hotties out there! Boot camp, baby.
ReplyDeletedrop and give me 20!
ReplyDeleteSIR YES SIR!!
ReplyDeleteMorning folks. I still feel like crap. This sucks.
ReplyDeleteKeep Hate Alive.
THT,
ReplyDeleteIt's more like drop and give me 50, now give me 50 more! I may not be the fastest, strongest one in boot camp, but I am kicking booty!
Norm,
Sorry you aren't feeling well. How is your eye? Mine is still driving me crazy, but nothing compared to yours. Hope you feel better before the weekend!
Norm, I blame UA-T.
ReplyDeleteWould you feel better if the earth opened up and swallowed that despicable town in west Vance? Yes, you would. See, it is UA-T's fault that you're feeling poorly today.
We can blame them, certainly. I always do. All of my troubles stem from them, not a former President. I've been battling a particularly nasty sinus infection for over a week. You can imagine the particulars associated. Last night/this morning I woke up around 3a with a splitting headache and never was able to get back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteKeep Hate Alive! I know I will.
Rx for Norm:
ReplyDeleteThe usual adult dose is 1 Augmentin 500 mg tablet every 12 hours... For more severe infections and infections of the respiratory tract, the dose should be 1 Augmentin 875 mg tablet every 12 hours or 1 Augmentin 500 mg tablet every 8 hours.
That's what Dr. Habotn, Team Physician, takes for his sinus infections.
Norm?
ReplyDeleteI've been taking 875mg Augmentin every 12 hours along with the Sudafed they keep behind the pharmacy counter for almost a week now. Not much improvement.
ReplyDeleteNORM!
