I remember listening to the radio thinking that a small plane at crashed into the tower, and then I heard the DJ witness and describe the 2nd plane hitting the other tower.

We had our structural engineer at the jobsite that day, and we were discussing if the towers were sound enough to take that impact and heat of the fire without partially collapsing, and then as we are discussing that, the unthinkable happened and the first tower collapsed. The structural engineer was assuring everyone that it would not collapse, so we all freaked out when we saw that.

I remember two things from that day, one being that I was close to Dobbins Air Force Base later that afternoon and could hear and see the fighter jets taking off and flying on a consistant basis when everything else in the air was completely dead and secondly, the thought that I was working in WTC Tower #2 almost a year before that on the 70th floor for Morgan Stanely, and I knew what was there and how everyone thought that place was like fort knoxx, especially after the previous attack.

9-11-01 was a very sad day.Eddie McCoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15602508172090719436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23235343.post-22683422422759469502009-09-11T08:52:17.547-05:002009-09-11T08:52:17.547-05:00I was going in to chemistry class at Auburn when I...I was going in to chemistry class at Auburn when I heard... it was more like, "Oh, that's weird. I landed at ATL this morning a little after 6a Eastern after taking a red-eye from LAX. I put this out there because I landed on 9/11. No one should forget the significance of this date. I was able to make my flight safely thanks in no small part by the sacrifices of many, many people like our own Aero. Sure, I may find it inconvenient to take off my belt and shoes and empty my pockets after standing in long line at the airport, but my momentary inconvenience absolutely pales in comparison to what others are doing on our behalf. Our country was attacked in a horrible way on this day 8 years ago. I know I'll never forget where I was and what I was doing, and I'm sure you all feel the same way.

God bless America.Normhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14595436967363733704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23235343.post-80018717302933418992009-09-11T08:25:55.736-05:002009-09-11T08:25:55.736-05:00RK- Don't forget about the Florida game and wh...RK- Don't forget about the Florida game and what seemed like huricane type rain going thru the area before the game.

Mytommy- Thanks for listening.
