Auburn update, 10/4

*First things first. If you haven't seen or heard about the "Coach O" song, you must see this asap. Safe for work. Not safe for tear ducts.
*Also, you probably didn't see this, but Kentucky defensive coordinator Mike Archer this week said playing South Carolina this week is "the best thing that can happen right now."
He later added: "We need a challenge."
In UK's win against CENTRAL MICHIGAN last week, the Wildcats allowed 558 yards. That included 411 passing yards. CMU scored on six consecutive possessions at one point.

*The dude who stole Auburn's laptop from the team hotel last week was busted on Tuesday. Under his mug shot, click on "more photos" to see the surveillance shot of him rolling out with the computer in his shirt.
Tuberville said the laptop is worth $15,000, which I found unreasonable. A little asking around on Tuesday helped me understand. The machine is worth approximately $3,000 (still a LOT of money for a lappie) but the software license is what makes things pricey. There's basically one company making the kind of complicated software college/pro teams need to do multi-station video scouting. And they charge mucho dinero for that application.
*So you were wondering why injured quarterback Brandon Cox was taking snaps from under center last week ... even when he was struggling to move. The answer is that Auburn doesn't use shotgun much right now because it removes the Kenny Irons element. If defenses don't have to worry about Irons (or Lester) running the ball, they overload the line and kill the quarterback. Why is this a problem for Auburn and not, say, USC? Maybe Auburn's offensive line isn't quite as good as I thought.
