Auburn Pro Day
Hey everyone. Auburn held its annual Pro Day today, allowing NFL scouts to evaluate a chunk of players during a four-hour workout. The kids do timed drills in the morning. They do positional drills during the early afternoon. Scouts stand all over, dozens of them, just talking to each other and scribbling down information, insights, etc.
It's a little unsettling. These NFL guys, most of them anyway, act like they're in some secret society where regular people aren't smart enough to understand their methods. I've talked with scouts in all the major sports and I'll say right now that NFL guys easily are the least friendly and most aloof. Baseball guys are great and basketball guys, at least in my experience, have been at least OK.
Football? Just awful. They probably think the same thing about sports writers. So it goes.
Anyway, here are some numbers based on things that happened today.
Notes:
*Height is listed in feet, inches then 1/8 of an inch. So Bliss, listed as "5103" is 5 feet, 10 3/8 inches.
*Vertical is in inches
*Bench reps at 225 pounds.
*40-yard dash in seconds.
I know there is a HUGE white space below this, but I can't rid myself of it. Scroll down for the numbers...
