Halftime, AU 13-10

We're now in the second quarter of Auburn's game against Arkansas.

STAT OF THE GAME
Total offense
AUBURN -- 53
ARKANSAS -- 244

Time of possession:
AUBURN -- 4:45
ARKANSAS -- 18:58

  • AUBURN 13, ARKANSAS 10: Byrum hits a 36-yard field goal. The drive covered ... zero yards. A pick by Josh Bynes got Auburn to the UA 19 and that's where Byrum kicked it.

  • AUBURN 10, ARKANSAS 10: Casey Dick scores on a 1-yard run on fourth down. Eleven plays. Eighty yards. That's just mannin' up and pushing the Auburn Tigers down the field. Nothing else to it.

  • AUBURN 10, ARKANSAS 3: Wes Byrum breaks out of his funk and hits a 45-yard field goal. The score was set up by Neiko Thorpe's INT and subsequent 59-yard return. The Tigers' drive consisted of a three-yard loss and two incomplete passes.

  • Neiko Thorpe makes his mark; picks a pass and returns it 59 yards.

  2. Wes Byrum is back...TF must've been spooking him with some voodoo curse or something.

  3. come one jay...give kodi some credit...smith dropped 6 points right there on a perfect throw

    ReplyDelete
  4. That ball floated big time.

Hawthorne's route on second down was terrible. Just awful.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hawthornes route was U G L Y.

    Drops, drops and more drops.

why is smith running all over us

    ReplyDelete
  7. Trott needs to ride the pine

    ReplyDelete
  8. Cause he's an awesome player?

That O-line is playing really well. Auburn has had some problems getting lined up correctly. Zac Etheridge just avoided an Auburn disaster right there with a timeout. Arkansas had three WRs right and Auburn had only one defender over there.

do we look flat. 200 + yards on our defense.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well, can take it fromn 204 yards to 201 yards with that play.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I just got home from a wedding...do we really only have 18 yards of total offense?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Our D has been on the field the entire game.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Time of possession,

    Arky - 18:30
    AU - 4:44

    ReplyDelete
  14. Arkys D is relaxing over on the sideline. Not good for the anorexic offense that is AUBURN.

    ReplyDelete
  15. There's that, too.

    Insane!

    ReplyDelete
  16. So Burns started and is 0-4?

Are we running the spread, or ace or what?

    Someone catch me up.

    ReplyDelete
  17. running the ugly, it sounds like.

    ReplyDelete
  18. So has our D just fallen apart today?

    220 yards for Ark?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm watching it on gameplan right now, but it looks like it doesn't matter who calls the plays judging by 11 plays and 18 yards.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Burns has not had any help from the recieving corp.

    ReplyDelete
  21. As evidence by losing to State today, apparently Vandy is about as good as I thought they were last week.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Man I wish I could see this game

    ReplyDelete
  23. Auburn's defense has been on the field a lot and has given up several long plays.

The Tigers finally are moving the ball a bit here ...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Burns INT.

    Another drive foiled.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Funny that it doesn't seem to matter who is at QB or who is calling plays in this offense...

I wonder what all those people who truly believed Kodi is the answer are thinking?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yea. Poor footwork, threw way too high for Terrell Zachery.

Ball was tipped up and into Arkansas' hands.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Pass was thrown high by Kodi. He looked like he was about to take off and run, but stayed in the pocket and forced the throw.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Etheridge missing an int, then giving up a 3rd and 9...not good.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm thinking he just needs a little time. he's a Sophomore who's never had been in any kind of consistent situation.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Are Marks and Coleman playing?

I see where nobody is getting close to Casey Dick.

    ReplyDelete
  31. No penetration by our front 4. No pressure at all on Dick, has ll day back there.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I see nothing from Burns that makes me think he's a future star.

I respect your opinions. I know some of you all think he's going to be awesome, but I don't see anything trending upward here.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Total offense

    242 Arkansas

    52 Auburn

This is the same Arkansas who has given up over 140 points in 3 games.

    ReplyDelete
  34. No pressure.

    The usual guys are playing.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I didn't see much out of Burns last year, expect a couple of flashes in the bowl game.

    ReplyDelete
  36. we doing a halftime campfire, Jay Geezy?

    ReplyDelete
  37. The D saves our butt again.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Peter - I agree with you 100%. More experience, confidence and Burns will do good things.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Chris Todd in at QB

    ReplyDelete
  40. and i'll be gd if they didn't put Todd in

    sweet jaysus

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think we can do a campfire, sure.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've never seen anything where Burns looks comfortable or even sees the field wel at all.

It's like he's just there, scrambles and throws no matter if he's set.

    ReplyDelete
  43. cool...seems like we've got a bunch of folks here today. campfire magic.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Why?

    Why?

    Why?

Why do we do the option to the short side of the field on 3rd and long?

    ReplyDelete
  45. TF's voodoo magic has worn off Byrum. Woo-hoo.

    ReplyDelete
  46. But his stupid play calling seems to still be in full effect.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anyone who saw the 1st quarter & a half...did we run any ace or I-formation sets?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I saw some ace.

    No I.

    ReplyDelete
  49. yeah, someone forgot to put that in his SUV when it was parked out front.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Do we have a Sports Psychologist on staff? Yes, that's a serious question.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I expected to see this offense have just a little bit more confidence, but alas...they have none. No wonder...when your coaching staff has no confidence in a quarterback....It's like the election...neither are that great, but pick one and get it over with already....

    ReplyDelete
  52. Way to start off the 2nd half!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. great start to the 2nd half

    ReplyDelete
  54. Can we get some goalline offense going?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Auburn playing early-season-Vandyball...terrible production, Special teams and turnovers keeping them in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Wow, we gave up 7/11 3rd down conversions in the 1st half to freakin' Arkansas.

TD Auburn...finally using Burns on the goalline...ala Dameyune Craig

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous5:53 PM

kodi is good at that, war eagle!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Everything we've done in this game is either special teams or off a turnover.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Peter - someone said they heard you or something like that? Do you have a radio show? Sorry, I'm new around here.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Jay, do those SEC rules mean you can't post on the blog during the game too?

    ReplyDelete
  61. So much for pinning them deep.

    ReplyDelete
  62. not me, MonD...I'm actually pretty new, too...Mr.Sensible, maybe. He has an online radio show on Sat. mornings.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Ohhhh - that's right. Thanks.
I'll have to ask for a link to it when everyone's not otherwise occupied.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Chris Todd baby!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I don't care what anyone says I can't stand putting Todd back in. For obvious reasons (noodle, floaters, etc) and for what it does to Burns confidence.

    So there.

    ReplyDelete
  66. mond...I meant that as a smart remark...chris comes in, takes a sack and fumbles the ball because he can't run or throw deep...it wasn't in support believe me.
