I like the Woody Hayes story about when he was recruiting in Michigan and almost (or did depending on the story) ran out of gas because he didn't want to spend a dime in Michigan. And of course when he went for two against Michigan and they asked him why, it was because he couldn't go for three. I think Auburn folks, me included, wanted to see a little of that attitude when Auburn was beating Alabama.
