Misty in Tuscaloosa

Hey everyone. I have arrived in Tuscaloosa, where your Auburn Tigers soon will play Your Least Favorite Team.

It's not raining. It's misty, though, and it's wet.

I'm headed downstairs momentarily to get pictures from outside the stadium.

Let's aim for a campfire around 1:30 CST. I should be back by then.

  1. Jay, Croom has resigned. I don't know if you have heard.

I wonder if MSU you consider Fulmer?

  2. Goodbye Sly Croom no good deed goes unpunished. YOu did it the right way at perrenial loser program with the cards stacked against you and boom, out go the lights. Fare thee well, \\

On second thought you were a bammer so good enough for you

  3. Man, I really wish I was going to be at the game today. I cannot stand watching this game on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Weird, I was dating a girl named Misty in 2000 and took her to Tuscaloosa for the horrible frozen 9-0 game.

    ReplyDelete
  5. RK- That is the coldest most miserable game weather wise that I have ever been too. I was freezing my butt off all game.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The game was boring too, so that didn't help any.

I remember Rudi had just over 100 yards, but it was 3 to 5 yards at a time. Almost no big plays and nothing to get excited about other than the result.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Agreed RK, when all the scoring was FG's, then it is pretty boring. The biggest highlight was that I believe Miss State lost and opened the door for us to go to Atlanta.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I went to the game at Arkansas in 1993 that was about as cold as the 2000 Alabama game.

  9. New thread ...

  10. i know eddie. i'm not used to this. watching on tv is going to be very wierd.

  11. This is starting to seem like the season of fired coaches. Tuberville really needs us to perform well in the Iron Bowl.

  12. Trap game. Definitely. We are going to go out and WIN BABY!!!!!

  16. RK ...

I can shorten for you ...

    I hate hearing Tim Brando.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm a Steelers fan, and nothing Plaxico does surprises me.

I remember his rookie yeah, he catches a ball and falls down...he's never touched. He spins the ball down on the ground like a top thinking the play is over and just made a 1st down catch not realizing in the NFL you have to be touched to be considered down. So it was a fumble due to his stupidity.

will they delay the start of the IB if the GA-Gtech game goes long?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm guessing the actually kickoff is 2:45, so I guess we'll be OK.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Agreed Bear. They took it on the chin yesterday. I didn't see the Croom thing coming either. I thought it was possible, but highly unlikely.

  32. A tip to those on Directv who don't want to have to listen to the cbs morons - Set your radio on 94.5 to get the AU network. For some reason, there is about a 13 second delay on their broadcast. There is about a 5 second delay on Directv, so you pause the tv broadcast for 8 seconds and you can synchronize them and watch the cbs picture and hear the AU network.

The AU network may not measure up to the old days of Buddy Rutledge and Charlie Davis, but still miles better than cbs.

finally watched the finale of the Shield, so let the discussion begin, at a later date. HATE THE ELEPHANTS

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nice kickoff out of bounds, UGA

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think CBS has the option to push the game back 15 minutes, but thats it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Nice defense, UGA

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous1:10 PM

TD Ga Tech, on the option, 18-28 UGA still leads

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm still pulling for the

Kodi-Brad-Tristan-Mario Tech option package for about 4 special plays

    ReplyDelete
  39. Listening to the pre-game and they are playing highlights of the 2002 Iron Bowl... I really miss Jim Fyffe.

So, so so much better than what we have now.

  43. What a play by Stafford. Stupidity and luck run a thin line.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous1:18 PM

Amen, Eddie. i was thinking that GT should be ashamed for letting him run like that

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous1:20 PM

Anyone else sooooooo glad to see LSU not only get beat but act so undisciplined while losing?

    ReplyDelete
  46. If you want to see how Stafford will do in the NFL, watch Cutler at Denver every Sunday. A huge arm and a huge number of turnovers. NFL scouts see a rocket arm and think every other deficiency can be overcome.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Kids, I kinda like watching Tech ... they're fun.

PLus, I hate UGA ... almost as much as UAT.

Heard "More Than a Feeling" earlier.

It's going to be a wet, wonderful, messy, muddy, glorious day.

    I love it.

    And I hate Bama.

    ReplyDelete
  48. USC & Georgia are the answers to the Afflac Trivia question...well at least they are my guess.

Can we steal Johnson's OC? I'd love to see AU run the triple option.

    ReplyDelete
  53. JOhnson is the OC.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ok, can we just steal Johnson?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I look at Paul Johnson's offense and I think that it would work very well at Auburn.

    WHy I like Paul Johnson:

Reporter: Can I ask you something without making you mad?

    Johnson: Maybe. I don’t know.

Reporter: I was talking to a Navy fan and he said he follows the coverage and that he noticed something and I’m just going to put it to you. He says that it seems like when Navy loses you blame the players, i.e., we can’t execute fundamental plays, but that the success of the team the last four years has been attributed to brilliant coaching. How do you respond to that?

Johnson: Whatever he thinks. I don’t go down to McDonald’s and start second-guessing his job so he ought to leave me alone.

Reporter: But do you feel like it can’t be both ways?

Johnson: You know what? I could care less. I’m old enough where I could give a crap what the fans think or what you think to put it in a nutshell.

Reporter: Wins and losses are evenly distributed as far as credit and blame, right?

Johnson: If you could ever find one time that I said we won the game because of brilliant strategy I will kiss your butt at city dock and give you two days to draw a crowd. Find it and bring it to me. Tell that guy that if he wants to talk to me I live at [address given but deleted for the transcript] I will be right there. Come ring my doorbell and I will be glad to talk to him.

  56. wow, The officials are giving GT the Touchdown.

    ReplyDelete
  57. wow, tech just tied... good game in the making...

    ReplyDelete
  58. They earned that TD.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm liking TEch a lot ... tough ...

    that was a TD, btw.

not sure UGA is man enough to get it done

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't feel guilty rooting for GT. Since GT was a charter member of the SEC and all.

    ReplyDelete
  61. So was Bama.

    But I hate Bama.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I am just saying that they gave them a good spot on the measurement and a generous pass interference call to put them first and goal.

    ReplyDelete
  63. GT Ball ball is clearly a fumble. They can review all they want.

    ReplyDelete
  64. UGA ... no heart, no guts

    ReplyDelete
  65. Georgia is not man enough to stop the option attach. Simple inside hand off for a score

    ReplyDelete
  66. CCR ... sorry, wrong on both counts

the spot was dead on ... the TV stripe was off.

    and that was textbook interference.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Georgia, Geooorgia, what are you gonna do,,,when the Rambling Wreck of Georgia Tech is beating the heck out of you. I say Georgia, Georgia, all the day through, that Rambling Wreck named Georgia Tech has mopped up the field with you.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hey, this radio announcer just figured out what we have to do. If we don't let Bama run the ball or pass the ball, we should be okay. Brilliant analysis.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I love option football. God help me, I love it so.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Tackle eligible? Gosh Paul, you must Hate Georgia.
