Third quarter, UM 10-7

We're discussing the third quarter of Auburn's game at Ole Miss.

  • OLE MISS 10, AUBURN 7: Ben Tate 27 run. Nice drive. What can you say? Kodi Burns hit Chris Slaughter for a 37-yard gain on the first play. No resistance, no problem.

It kinda looks like he did step out... not sure if he was forced or not..

Slaughter has a habit of catching a ball where he has a foot out of bounds.

Maybe we were saving the "good plays" for the 3rd.

it would have been a penalty if he did step out of bounds..is that a reviewable penalty?

1:34 PM

NO. But, I'm really annoyed by how everything i see about kodi is pessimistic and negative, when this offense's ineptness can't be put on his shoulders.
If you guys are going to unfairly blame him, then i've got to balance that out with excessive homerism! :)

Nobody's hatin' Cotton.

Do they have that rule in college wher eif you are forced out, you are not out before the catch? If so, should someone let teh announcers know?

1:38 PM

Very big. We need a return Dunn.

Well, at least it's good field position.

1:38 PM
Blogger James in Auburn said...

Ok the D got some life from the O. Let's keep building on this.

Maybe, just maybe, AU found the bottom that the market has been desperately searching for.

Blogger Quitstina said...

1:44 PM
Blogger James in Auburn said...

CTT playing not to lose, even though he is losing.

I will say that there seem to be some adjustments made in the second half offensively. Two completed passes of 20 plus yards. I think that is going to be there the rest of the game - AU has to exploit it.

1:44 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

We need a turnover here.

1:45 PM
Blogger Lovecrafty said...

Hope someone reiterates to Kodi that Trott isn't the only receiver to throw to.

1:45 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

i like the punt, 4th qtr i'd go for it, we finally got a lil momentum, maybe the d can get us a short field here.

when we finally do blitz it's the worst possible time to do so, wtf.

1:47 PM
Blogger Lovecrafty said...

They need to assign a headhunter for McCluster, someone to hit him hard EVERY play whether he's go the ball or not.

1:47 PM
Blogger Quitstina said...

There we go

1:48 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Big stop there

1:48 PM

Note to Coach Tuberville:

We need a lead in order to be able to "sit on it."

1:51 PM
Blogger James in Auburn said...

Roman, the TD drive had 3 plays of 10 plus yards.

1:51 PM

If these guys are all having a good tough practice, why are they getting nicked so bad?

1:58 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Still though, in terms of playcalling, we look like a superduper high school offense.

Ole Miss looks like the scout team for NFL teams. Running much more packages, formations, and plays.

Just saying...

1:58 PM

Good call on the pitch to McCluster. Dude is FAST.
