  1. I LOVE these interviews you give us with the players for lots of reasons. Mostly because it reminds me that they are kids, they are working their asses off and nobody hates losing more than they do.

    I like that Antoine Coleman.

Gosh, I hate this season for the Seniors and I hope whatever happens next year can be so much better for these student athletes.

  2. How about Walt saying it was a "virus?"

    ReplyDelete
  3. I thought that was very insightful and just dead on. They just have a way of making you feel it.

  5. Jay,
Why wasn't Lester playing last week?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I really liked the virus comment, simply because a virus does not have a magic cure. It just has to run its course. You may try to find a cure but one does not exist, so you must only treat the symptoms. We have treated the symptoms and now it is time to play football and turn the season around. War Eagle!!!

  7. Hopefully they will get innoculated prior to next season. Cute dog mrs.

  8. Hopefully they will get innoculated before next week.

  9. The only way to turn the season around is to break their crimson hearts.

  10. Thanks seeker, that is our baby.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Jet = wordsmith ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  12. I imagine Fannin cares more about finishing the game than starting the game.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Walt McFadden seems to think we have turned a bit of a corner. Well, they'll need some confidence for our next game.

2 of the main things that worry me about Alabama

    1. them running behind smith at goggans and stephens. We got to put some bulk over there, clayton, possibly move marks back over there.

    2. McClain and Hightower blitzing. Our line has trouble with four man fronts, Saban's schemes = a tad more complex. Throw cody in there and I don't expect alot of rushing yards.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Virus is a very accurate way of describing what has occurred. Winning is an attitude and loosing certainly is too.

As for us being back, we might be back but we might not stay long unless we play the game of the season this last game.

Even though we have lost a few more, I do feel the offense has been coming around. A lot depends upon them being able to be creative enough on offense to move the ball against Bama. This should be interesting because Bama doesn't have the best defense we have played, although they are better than I had expected.

  15. Ron ...

    Absolutely right.

    I'll add two more.

    3. Covering the slot receiver.

    4. Covering the tight ends.

I'll go to war with a healthy Jerraud and a virus free Walt. It gets sketchy after that.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The problem is going to be Kodi's lack of experience/ Ensminger's lack of talent vs. Saban's complicated defensive fronts.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Completely off-topic question. Jay, what milestone do I have reach to be listed as a "Notable Newcomer"? :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. yeah nick walker could have quite a large day against us. For us to have a shot John Parker Wilson has to go back to his sucking days.

Steve, who's defense is better than bama's that we've played?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Seeker ... I operate under the presumption that we will struggle mightily against their defense.

Our chances, to me, hinge on our defense keeping the game close and providing opportunities for our offense.

Ron's keen eye is extra sharp today like New York cheddar ... we need Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson to wake up remember who he is. And we need Sen'Derrick and Antonio to be Big.

UGA is an unfocused team that made a lot of early mistakes and kept us in the game. Once we got our feet under us, we went toe to toe with UGA.

Bama is focused and much tuffer on the O & D lines. We will need to raise our execution 2 levels and need some excellent offensive game planning to win. The last half of that previous sentence is probably not be possible this year.

And everything that Ron, Jet and Seeker said......whew!

    ReplyDelete
  23. jay, what about the people that quit posting do they get aborted from the lists?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hard to imagine us winning without them making some mistakes. We will need a little bit o luck.

    ReplyDelete
  25. we will need florida 2001 luck to win this one.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ron, I guess we could look at paring down the lists ... but we don't have very many people in that category.

JGT - for example, james is awol

    ReplyDelete
  28. i wasn't suggesting anything... just curious

    ReplyDelete
  29. Making sure to get my post in before Ron kicks me off HABOTN island ... I keep listening to these guys, and the more I do, the more I think they should just say, "shut up coach", and coach themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  30. james has a lot on his plate.

    ReplyDelete
  31. phred, i'm fairly certain you lead the HABOTN in all time posts, you're safe. With Crudup coming in second.

    ReplyDelete
  32. d and james are homies.

    Sellin' out your boy!

    ReplyDelete
  33. COOL --------- Roland from Auburn AL --- a caller from Auburn was just on MAD MONEY with Cramer.

  36. Anyone else read college footbal news.com?

Their writer Pete Fuitak wrote a piece today that talked abou trivalry games and what it ment to teams like Pitt last year of Mich in 96 to knock their biggest rival out of the MNC race ----- craziest thing about that article was the scores of those games, and a few others were the same.

    96 Mich / Ohio St 13-9

    07 Pitt / WVU 13-9

    06 UCLA / USC 13-9

    hmmmmm, odd.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Cramer said "I always wanted a call from Auburn. (took out the Alerbamer part). What a cool place."

Then gave some advice on Best Buy stock.

    ReplyDelete
  38. empathy - google it!

I love me some Jim Cramer.

He cracked me up reading the "Pin Action" email twice.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm fairly new to the show - what's "pin action" mean and to what email are you referring?

    ReplyDelete
  40. "pin action" goes along with is bowling pins being knocked down sound effect button and it usually means a big "score" - the email was from a guy who said he already looks like Cramer, but for Halloween he wore a long sleeve button down, rolled to above the elbow and a tie and he was instantly recognized as Jim Cramer. He said he was extra popular with all the ladies who love Jim Cramer and he thanked him for the "Pin Action."

    ReplyDelete
  41. jim cramer will be the next Auburn head coach. However, it is not what you think. He will be brought in next year to learn under Tubs and take over when Tubs retires. Smooth transition, everyone wins.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'd vote for Coach Cramer. I think I'll send him an Auburn tie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Nice...

I'm not a player in the mrkt ---- yet ---- but with everything else in this economy, its about time to BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY.

About football - Is it a given now that S. Marks, whom I love and respect for being a class act and a great Aubrun young man -- will not go to the league next year?

I certainly wouldn't blame him if he did but what's his stock look like now - oh master -- J. Gilligan tate sir?

    ReplyDelete
  44. buy on fear, sell on greed

    ReplyDelete
  45. Monica, would Cramer wear an AU tie -- maybe next week with the Bammer game coming up?

Are you a PLAYA in the market M?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am reminded of the conversation the Tracy Morgan SNL character "Woodrow" had with his accountant on the phone: "BUY! SELL! BUY SELL!"

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think he would. He'd be more likely to if it came from a student because he's SO loves that college kids dig his show. Yes, I am.

    ReplyDelete
  48. buy on fear, sell on greed? Sounds like Buffett.

I just don't know if it's Warren or Jimmy.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Are you deversified?

I know I'm getting old bvecause I listen to talk radio all the time now.

SO, here in B'ham they run Dave Ramsey on 960 am on a CONSTANT loop. Question: Is Cramer's show/ideas totally against what DR preaches?

Is it considered "speculating"? I work in the car business so I don't follow everything he says - "only buy a car you can pay cash for" -- but he's got some good, basic principles.
How long Monica? HAve you taken a bath with this down turn?

And thansk for taking up for me that saturday when Gilligan was biased and being a facsist.

At 2:22 you can find Woodrow's advice. I don't know why I just wasted so much time finding that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I totally support Dave Ramsey. Credit IS evil. (just look around) The only sorta acceptable credit is a mortgage. It's radical if you're under the age 60, but it's smart. If you've never read his book "Total Money Makeover" you should - even if you've heard all his shows.
Been in the market in a mutual fund kind of way for 20 years and in an individual stock way for about 5 years. No, did not take a bath because we moved all of our money two months before the real drop started. (see, I'm not as dumb as I sound)

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. but the drop happened because everyone moved their money. curse you money movers and your self-prophecy-fulfilling ways!

    ReplyDelete
  53. holy shizzel -- so, what made you take that action two months before the drop?

Oh and I work with a guy who tried to buy Heathsouth back when its dropped to a dime and he said his brocker refused him. Said he wouldn't buy it for him.

Cramer says if you have 30 dimes that's NOT part of your retirement then start out buying with 500.

    I'm saving up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Dude......I googled "Tracy Morgan Woodrow" and AOL shot me one right back.

    Doo Doo Pie?

    ReplyDelete
  55. yeah that one was easy to find, and it is the best. It was harder to find the one where he said "buy! sell! buy! sell!"

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ok, since I got no answer from the high and mighty Gilligan, SNL it is:

Bill Brasky is one of my favorites. I think they did that one three times -- Any time Alec Baldwin is host.

Will Ferrall is one guy I'll stop anmd watch if I see SNL on E! and he's on screen.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Just reading everything I can find on world markets, oil market especially, Cramer, Buffet and the gang. I'm no financial wizard, but I'm smart enough to follow the wizards. lol

If I was an educated stock buyer I wouldn't use a broker. So either your friend trusts his brokers advice or he needs to get a new broker or become his own.

You can buy stock with no minimum amount at sharebuilder.com.

  58. Thanks so much - damn, it IS great to be an AUBURN TIGER.

    ReplyDelete
  59. bill brasky was chuck norris before chuck norris was chuck norris. I thought of ole brasky when I first heard those jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  60. YES.

I did to. I used to spend a bunch of time on the rivals & scout sites' message boards and one of my handle was "Bill Brasky" --- Some of the Brasky lines were later swiped by the C. Norris crew.

There's a cool site with Brasky quotes - one of my favorites was the one about the vienamese kid in Corpus Cristi ......Brasky did 3 tours in 'Nam ya know.

  66. Ok all, i'm back from sabitacal. What is the highlight from the last three days.

    ReplyDelete
  67. One more thing, Chris. There were several economist predicting this crash of the credit system and subsequently the market up to two years ago. Keep watching Cramer and all those boring CNBC, Bloomberg shows. Focus on the ones that have as little political speak as possible. Read The Economist and there are several blogs. Once you start digging in you'll find there is lots of info (some seemingly obscure) that is powerful. OK, the end.

^Disclaimer- I'm an amateur and this advice is for entertainment purposes only.

I can't believe AU is on Sirius!!
That is pretty cool. Did you say 198? I think Playboy is 199. Ha

    ReplyDelete
  70. Cool - I won't hold you responsible.

Its like people asking me about games and who I like ATS. They must know, the best handicapper is right 60-65% of the time.

    About Bill Brasky:

    ReplyDelete
  71. Michael, if Phillips Arena wasn't already named the Highlight Factory, I would give you that nickname.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Playboy has a radio station? How does that make sense?

"In this picture, the girl is pretty much naked, but she has shoes on, so she is bending over to tie her shoe, and there is a stuffed teddy bear watching the whole thing unfold, and her favorite NFL team is the Jets, and ...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Of course, Roosevelt's old fireside chats might have been even more historic if they had that tone. Maybe we have been doing radio wrong all these years.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Michael- Playboy radio is totally over-rated. Girls definitely like it better than guys.

    ReplyDelete
  75. The Bill Brasky stories relate to every day life -- see:

Playboy radio --- "Brasky hates Mexicans...and he's half mexican.....he hates irony."

    see.
