Here is his latest dispatch:
AUBURN _ About 100 Auburn University students demonstrated Tuesday in front of the mansion of President Jay Gogue in support of former football coach Tommy Tuberville.
The students marched several blocks from the AU student center, yelling fight songs and criticizing several Auburn executives including trustee Bobby Lowder of Montgomery.
Outside the president's mansion, one of the students called athletic director Jay Jacobs a "puppet" of Lowder, one of the university's most influential trustees.

Right now, for whatever reason, I would pick Gill over either one of them. It just feels right.
It all makes so much sense now. Float Petrino's name out there. That way when Muschamp is hired, we can say at least it wasn't Petrino. I see the logic here.
Seems like it, although at this point nothing would surprise me. I think I'm in the won't believe it until the press conference group now.
Where is William J. Crudup?
Yeah. I have taken the stance that I beleieve nothing until "the guy" puts on an auburn hat or tie or something...whoever it is
phred my thing w/gill is i think the guy would leave for a job at nebraska or any of the texas schools. i just want to restore some stability and i do think OBC or Boom could do that. even given the fact that OBC is getting old, we have the perfect opportunity to bring in a coach in waiting
By the way, I am deeply offended by the women that were deeply offended by me standing up for women's rights.
what do you think about Kevin Gilbride the OC from the NY Giants a good prospect or a future Charlie Weis
yeah, you started a big deal earlier
I have an idea. Bring OBC in as the head coach. Then we can bring Fisher and Muschamp in as head coaches in waiting. Yes, you heard it first here. Auburn becomes the first school to have dual head coaches in waiting. Yes, innovators!!!
i support your rights to equal opportunities SFC
JD, in case you haven't noticed, the current Charlie Weis hasn't lived up to expectations thus far. I think we can do better than that.
i like where you head is at SFC, we would then have co head coaches. Has that ever been done before, anyone gone all Remember the Titans before?
Don't know anything about him. Heard about a guy named Del Rio today also. Who's that?
Will Pat Sullivan get an interview? He seems like a wonderful man.
I was just curious since Nix & Garner got interviews.
Why will you guys not believe in Kris or WTC. Kris said 3 or 4 days and Muschamp is aboard. From this day forward coaching search is over in my mind. No joke when I say they know as much as anybody.
Del Rio is the head coach of the Jaguars I do believe.
Sean i have noticed thats why i asked if could would work out OR would he be like charlie weis.
Because it's an internet forum and speculation runs rampant.
Phred:
Jack Del Rio is the HC of the Jacksonville NFL team.
If y'all could pull him, maybe Mike Shula will come along since he is the QB coach there.. :-)
JD, once OBC retires, Fisher vs Muschamp in a steal cage match at center field to decide who will be the next head coach. Get your tickets now.
Del Rio is the HC at Jacksonville. Heard on Sirus NFL channel today he is about to get run from there, they would probably let us get him for no buyout.
Ah, JD, missed that, apologies mate.
Muschamp 09
Get on board.
SFC again i like where you head is at. The cage match could be the featured event of 2012 A-day game
Mike Shula is a good thought. As I understand it, he has coached more consecutive Auburn victories over Alabama than most.
no prob sean, the sentence i wrote wasn't real clear. i sure one thing the Auburn family could unite on is we don't want a future charlie weis on our hands.
Right now, I'm so apathetic that I think we should just go "coachless" - which is basically what we did this past season.
SFC, I'm with ya on CMS.
Bama gets Saban, UNC gets Butch Davis. We get Muschamp? Why do I feel like Charlie Brown saying I go a rock.
I still don't know what TG is slipping. Two words: Tommy and Frazer. Open and close. One page book. Moving right along.
I'm pretty sure anyone gets mojo points for being associated with '95 Nebraska.
Nutt signs a goon kicked off UF football team after stealing a dead girl's credit card.
it's on the internet, it must be true
http://www.fanblogs.com/mississippi/007941.php
Steve Florida got meyer and seemed to be doing alright.
On the plus side, I am pretty sure Muschamp cold kick Saban's butt straight up. Of course, Sarah Palin probably could too, but we aren't hiring her.
tigerfan44, the get me Meyer. Another good example. Florida gets Meyer, Bama gets Saban, UNC gets Butch Davis. We get a rock.
Tar, The comments under that story are nearly as interesting...
The more I hear and help spread Del Rio rumors, the more excited I get to think that someone would actually put him on the list.
Hmmm, wonder if Skippy is Syracuse's plan B and their wating for an answer from Turner who's waiting for an answer from Aubie
http://blog.syracuse.com/orangefootball/
Del Rio= sucks at football coach.
Steve meyer came from utah. So if we get Utah's coach would that make you happy.I think they are undefeated same as meyer was his last year.
My nephew who is a professor at UF just joined a Facebook group named: "Superman used to wear a sheet around his neck and pretend he was Tim Tebow."
Tar heel: The UF player in question actually did do that and was kicked off the team ... believe it or not. What I don't know is whether or not he is on the Ole Miss roster.
I hear good things about Kyle Whittingham...if they beat Alabama...it would be a sign, although we'll have someone long before then.
ARRGGHHHH! they're, not their
(for the "Monk's" amongst us who were offended as much as I was by my grammatical error)
The head coach at Utah does sound like a wonderful idea. At least we would be getting a guy with proven HC experience. That would be cool.
if offered the Saryacuse job and the AU job Gill would be better off at Saryacuse. He would have a better shot at going to a BCS game, the pressure wouldn't be nearly as great, and he already has connections in the area. That's a simple decision to me.
Ok Mon, I know longer believe anything you say. Your not old enough to have a nephew professor. What was that old western movie where the little kid was the uncle of the older guy, or something like that?
JD, I am with you. Syracuse doesn't have the same type of competition, although it is tougher than the ACC these days.
DANG IT. I'm too tired; you're not your. I think I better jsut go curl up with Molly. She's already in bed.
TarHeelTiger, you may want to review what nephew means. I have known people to have nephews older than they are. It happens. I will resist the urge to make any West Virginia specific comments.
Sarah Palin's son will be nearly the same age as his nephew.
who wants to join us on the new JGT post/thread?
You "know" longer believe me?
He is actually Greg's nephew. Greg (my hubby) is the old one. I'm young.
My old husband just explained nephew is working on his PhD in accounting at Florida and is teaching classes.
Tigerfan-Hang in ther. Don't let them rough you up. I'm sticking with Muschamp. His name came up as a replacement before the WVA game. Sometimes the 1st one is actually the one.
