Rolling along on a Friday

Hey everyone. I see that you're all very excited about the possibility of Houston Nutt being Auburn's next head coach.

Is it possible? Yes.

I had a few knowledgeable people relay that name yesterday. The Advertiser forbids me from using unnamed sources, so that really limits what I can report about stuff like that. I'm working to get in touch with Nutt's People and get an official, on-the-record comment about his situation.

It's going to be a murky period here for a while. It's difficult to distill reliable information from fake stuff -- it often sounds the same -- and getting the legit stuff on the record adds a little more complexity.

We like complexity here at the HABOTN. It's all about love of the game ...

whoever is in charge at AU: Just say no to Nutt.

Sorry your gym time got Roundtabled*

    *Sidetracked by constant other stuff

    ReplyDelete
  5. I thought the new AU coach could bring the fan base together easily, but if they hire Nutt, forget it. Count me on the firenutt.com bandwagon.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Sounds like Subterfuge at its finest. Like a fine brandy or single malt scotch. or better yet a nicely age single barrel bourbon with a nice fire and cigar

    ReplyDelete
  7. Hey Jay,

Do all of the big papers in the state forbid unnamed sources, or are you at a disadvantage to some of the others?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Nutt doesn't make sense to me, but that's what people I trust have said.

These people I'm talking about are not decision-makers. They're just connected and interested.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Nutt is a step down from Tub. It's almost the same record except he doesn't care to recruit criminals.

    ReplyDelete
  10. We are the only paper in the state ... and one of the only in the nation ... who go this route with sourcing.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I just hope the Nutt conversation is a ploy by Sexton. Mike Leach would be 10x better of a hire.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Anonymous11:23 AM

Glad to hear from you Jay....people were worried...including me. Not sure if that makes it a man crush or not...sure hope not.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That sucks Jay..

People need to keep that in mind when worrying about who gets something first.

    Buncha jacklegs

  14. Did everyone see where Ball State turned down a battle of the undefeated bowl game vs Boise State?

man if nutt comes to auburn count me out...that would be the dumbest thing i have ever heard of...what a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  16. This Nutt talks smells of Jimmy Sexton.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The problem here is that Auburn is not willing to go all in as Alabama did. The PTB will not relinquish control and that will be the death of us for awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Denny,

Woodford Reserve is a nice bourbon.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I take back my negative comments on Leach if that means we are getting Nutt.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I pray to God this a Sexton ploy. If money is no object then Auburn should not settle for Nutt. If money is no object Auburn needs to target some really big names and go after them. Hiring Nutt would be taking a step backwards.

    ReplyDelete
  21. How are you supposed to win a Pulitzer Prize with all of these crazy rules standing in your way? I say the rules be damned and you use your best judgement.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't want Leach, but at least that might be interesting. Nutt, well we could just watch replays of Arky games on Saturday afternoons instead of actually fielding a team.

    ReplyDelete
  23. James:

    Woodford rocks.

Nice distillery too. Took a tour a few years ago.

    Beautiful part of the country.

that would just be embarrising...can u imagine the feild day the bammers woulld have if we hired nutt dumb a@@..saban would eat us alive for years and years and years...i cant believe he is even an option...i swear im a huge auburn fan but if he is the next coach...count me out!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Also, all of the people on here talking about losing recruits and people backing out...who is to say the new coach is going to want to go after those same players?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Denny, we'll get it handled.

I look at it as a challenge. There are some things I cannot get because of these rules, but I can still get my shots in. They're coming.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anon, ask faker what a field day he would have if we hired Nutt. I will assume hunch punch will be involved

    ReplyDelete
  28. I gotta step away for a bit ... again.

Play nice until I get back.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Me too RK...Booo Nutt!Hooray....Leach!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Anonymous11:29 AM

houston nutt....are u fing kidding me! i will personally drive leach to auburn over nutt...and i dont really want leach...but he is 20x better than the wild gobbler

  31. lol @ the hunch punch reference

Any truth to the Leach to AU talk i'm hearing on other forums?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous11:30 AM

    what a joke

    ReplyDelete
  34. Before you go jay I am hearing all coaches staying on to help recruiting and transition. You hearing same.

    ReplyDelete
  35. RK the recruits we are losing are some of the top of our class. The new HC better want them are we hired the wrong guy already.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous11:32 AM

are the people in control really this challenged that they didnt have a coach lined up before we ran off tubs..if so fire them! houston nutt....this has got to be a sexton plot...i will burn my auburn gear if we hire that moron.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Woodford is a very very nice bourbon.

I suggest Eagle Rare. Very nuanced. Two varieties, the very aged and the aged. The aged is very good. The very aged at 80 dollars a bottle is too expensive to enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  38. My whole point is there is no need to get upset about 18 year olds who may or may not back out who also may or may not have changed their minds anyway before signing day.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Off the subject, and directed at those who may work at home and can flip on CourtTV:

I'm scrolling through the channels and come across the sentencing of OJ Simpson. Nearly falling off the sofa laughing while trying to scarf down lunch.

His first lawyer rambled on about how Abe Lincoln let the confederates go home at the end of the war, as if the judge were the victor (rather than a neutral arbiter) in the matter.

His second lawyer spent a good five minutes counting the ways in which it had been an honor to argue in the judge's court.

OJ will be coming up next, as far as I can tell. Can't wait to see how far he swallows his foot since his counsel got busy eating their own feet off.

    Good stuff.

  40. This is crazy world we lived in. Last week this time, I think Tubs is back for sure and i'm all right with that. I also believe we have a chance to be close in the 4th quarter against bama. Saturday Night, I'm pissed about the results and not happy about the preparedness of the team. At this time, I think change is needed becasue we are obviously falling way behind and getting further away, but I still felt Tubs would be back. Wednesday- Tubs is gone and i'm sad to miss Tubs, but excited about the future. Fast forward to now- The thought of Houston Nutt makes me vomit in my mouth. My brother will be all over me, saying be careful what you wish for why he has always wanted Tubs back, never wavering.

I don't want my brother telling me I told you so.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I heard that Leach turned us down. This is going to be a crazy few days/weeks. I am also hearing that the assist coaches are saying that they were 'fired' as reported on wani1400 radio yesterday evening. It didnt sound like they were staying around to help with recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If y'all hire Nutt...

    I'll have a perpetual smile...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anonymous11:34 AM

pleaseeeeeeee...anyone but nutt, i would rather have the almighty jay g. tate coach or tigers than houston "the wild gobbler" nutt!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I do not think leach is a possibility. He is so 180 from everything AU has done. He is not a good "FIT" as JJ has said he wants. He removed his name because he was not getting the WU job, same as Patt Hill.
Nutt IMO is total BS. If we hire him I will develope a nutt alergy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Tigerfan- I believe all assistant coaches except Hugh Nall are staying on to help with recruiting thru the transition. Hugh Nall already has a new job lined up, but not announced (Probably SC).

    ReplyDelete
  46. you guys watching oj sentencing? he's an awful person

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous11:35 AM

Leach recruited Chris Todd in 2005 at Tech, will the two be reunited once again??? Guess we'll have to wait and see...

As far as the Nutt thing goes...
If they were gonna hire him, why not just keep Tubs and save 5.1 mill??? GEEZE!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous11:36 AM

    What's the sentence Harrison?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Houston Nutt jsut quoted as saying:

GIGGITY GIGGITY GIGGITY!!! WWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! BLOTUNK BARFARKUS WOONDANGITY GIGGITY HOOOO!!!”

    ReplyDelete
  50. Nutt is just a ploy and disinformation to get everyone talking about him while the real target is being tracked and secured.

    ReplyDelete
  51. There's a rumor that Leach showed up for an interview in flip flops...

    LMAO.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous11:36 AM

    houston nutt is an idiot

    ReplyDelete
  53. Im with you eddie, if nutt is hired no one else wanted the job. Nutt is on way down career slope not going up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Denny,

    I've never tried Eagle Rare.

I will have to investigate this tomorrow during the SECCG. I will need a pleasant distraction while amongst the bammer faithful tomorrow, so Eagle Rare will be it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous11:38 AM

i sure hope so crum...if not auburn just lost a very loyal and rich alumni and fan....nutt would be a nightmare

    ReplyDelete
  56. he's talking to the judge right now. i'll relay the actual sentence when it happens. He is pretty much an idiot, oh and a murderer

    ReplyDelete
  57. Houston Nutt makes me long for Leach or Petrino.

    Excuse me I feel nauseous...

    ReplyDelete
  58. I bet Jay is talking with Neal McCready and trying to get an assesment from him.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous11:39 AM

houston nutt, mmmmm...i just threw up in my mouth a little

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous11:40 AM

if we hire nutt we should all go on strike. make them pay for this treason

    ReplyDelete
  61. The more I read of the Nutt speculation, the more I can't help but think this is all Sexton trying to get Ole Miss to pony up a bit more for one of his clients.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yea JayG you should get your name in the hat for HC. Then you could bring some Hotties on staff.

I'm appling for LB/DB coach and my resume will be a video clip from 'Remember the Titans' when Coach Yost told them to BLITZ ALL NIGHT!

I nominate Mr. S as OC, Pred as DC and Monica as Tight Ends coach (dirty old man smile) ;>

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Houston, we have a problem."

    That was bad. I'm sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think everyone but nall is staying for now.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Good looking out, BigCat! Presh.
    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  66. You need to google it and find where you can buy it. I think Emory Folmer has decided not to sell it in Alabama.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jay

Where is Nall going? Clemson, SC?

Maybe we can see him in the peach bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous11:50 AM

Wanted to throw this out there. Jay, is there any chatter about Kevin Wilson when head coaching jobs come up? I never here his name, but he seems to run one hell of an offense at OU? http://soonersports.com/school-bio/kevin_wilson.html

    ReplyDelete
  69. There is going to be an uprising if Nutt is hired. That just seems ridiculous to me.

    ReplyDelete
  70. For the record, Eddie, I don't want to have the opportunity to say "I told you so". If anything, I want it to be the other way around.

I would have absolutely preferred to have Tubs back next year, but now that the deed is done, I hope we get the best guy available. I hope for nothing but the best for Auburn.

If things take a downward turn, I won't say "told you so" but something along the lines of "happy now?". But again, I really hope I don't get that chance.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anonymous11:53 AM

    Mike Leach? Houston Nutt? Petrino?

How about going after Butch Davis so we don't have this same situation in 2-3 years. Or even Dickenson @ ASU.

Wow.. Auburn "boosters/AD" really have it going on don't they. A great way to build up the program is to bring in someone from Ole' Miss and start the same scenario again.

    ReplyDelete
  72. They are using Nutt. Now whoever we hire we will say glad it was not nutt.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Anonymous11:54 AM

Sweet Zues Beard, Mike Leach looks like frickin' Shug Jordan compared to Houston Nutt, PLEASE tell me they are not serious...

That and Ole Miss would hate us forever...

Hey! Maybe Tubs could get his old job back!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Denny,

I found it on the Alabama ABC November price list.

Going to call some of the local ABC stores to see if they have it in stock.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I heard that OC at Mizzou has a new job but didn't hear where. Anybody know? Just curious.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mizzou OC went to Wyoming if I remember correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  77. AUTiger3, he went to Wyoming.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Please don't let it be Houston Nutt!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Thanks for the answers on the Mizzou OC.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Could it be that all of these names are a smoke screen and Auburn is really talking to Butch Davis?

    Something to consider.

    ReplyDelete
  81. oj sentencing coming up!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. JayG

Has Tuberville made any type of statement. If not, do you expect one, or maybe a press conference anytime soon? Sure would be nice to hear his side of this.

Thanks for all the coverage of this mess.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I hope so. Butch Davis would be big time. I can't help but think a coach like him would like to play second fiddle to basketball.

    ReplyDelete
  84. FSJ,

I sincerely hope you are right on that one.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous12:04 PM

I've been lurking and reading this blog off and on all season, but this is the first time I've got to post some...

Houston Nutt??? Are you kidding me. Tubbs would do a better job than Houston Nutt. I think Nutt is doing so well at Ole Miss because Orgeron left some pretty decent talent, and Nutt is a semi decent coach. Does anyone wonder what's going to happen in four years when all the players are Houston Nutt's recruits, yeah just look at Arkansas the last two years. I mean there are no words to describe my disappointment in Auburn if they hire HOUSTON Freakin' NUTT!

Also I think Petrino would be a bad hire as well, I'm not going to argue about his coaching abilities, but because of pervious incidents (jetgate, leaving the falcons like he did) there is going to be a lot of bad blood between him and the Auburn fans.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yeah this judge is lighting him up right now.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Coming from past experience, pay no attention to which coach says they are not interested or turning the job down. The majority won't be offered at all.

Heck, Jim Haslett turned Alabama down last time. Does anybody believe he was actually offered?

    Please.

    ReplyDelete
  88. http://www.greatbourbon.com/eagleraresb.aspx

  90. i just finished a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label..spectacular

    ReplyDelete
  91. well, not just now. but a couple weeks ago

    ReplyDelete
  92. This entire situation makes me think of a line from Forrest Gump:

    "Stupid is as stupid does"

    ReplyDelete
  93. It's amazing how many people "turn down" jobs just because someone in the media asked them if they were the next coach.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I am simply amazed at the number of peeps out there who are falling for the Houston Nutt disinformation. It is all part of the deception plan. I am in earnest on this statement.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Anonymous12:12 PM

who the hell are we gonna get then? im starting to think the ad is clueless and might be dumb enough to get nutt...realisticly crum who are we gonna get
    ?

  98. Anonymous12:14 PM

    im freakin out mannn

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

Tim Anon, we've had an official opening for a whole day. Relax.

I'm anxiously awaiting the announcement too, but let's let this thing breathe.

cool got me a name...im the anon guy...hey everyone...sorry bout the rantin...just freakin out

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous12:17 PM

Maybe they float Nutt's name to get everyone in an uproar and actually are trying to get Leach, whom they may have wanted all along.

    ReplyDelete

    15yrs

    ReplyDelete
  107. Anonymous12:18 PM

    guess i didnt get a name...bogus

    ReplyDelete
  108. Harrison,

I may be mistaken, but I believe concurrent sentences run all at the same time, while consecutive sentences add on to each other.

The longest sentence I heard was a 5 year minimum on the kidnapping charge. I think there was some added to that in the form of consecutive sentences as she was reading.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Anonymous12:18 PM

When is he eligible for parole?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Anonymous12:19 PM

    After 5 yrs parole

    ReplyDelete
  111. Anonymous12:19 PM

can someone walk me through how to sign up...horrible at this stuff

    ReplyDelete
  112. Anonymous12:20 PM

    Sorry 18yrs

    ReplyDelete
  113. The 5 years was the parole eligibility, the whole sentence on the kidnapping was 15 years.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Anonymous12:20 PM

Anon, go to blogger.com and sign up.

    Easy as that.

    ReplyDelete
  115. james is right - concurrent means he's burning a sentence for multiple charges all at the same time

    ReplyDelete
  116. 5 years i think. then he has to another for a gun charge. so this legal analyst on espn said he will be in jail for a minimum of 9-10 years in a best case scenario

    ReplyDelete
  117. Anonymous12:21 PM

ok will do...this is the best place to talk au football IMO.... level headed people...nice folks...not many bama tards lurking...lets hope they dont find out about us

    ReplyDelete
  118. yes you're right. but there are consecutive as well as concurrent. so when he inishes the concurrent sentences he has to serve the consecutive sentences

    ReplyDelete
  119. 9-10 sounds about right. Maybe we can see OJ on an episode of Lock Up!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Is it odd that Butch Davis' crew hasn't spoken a word about this thing?

They came out quick and addressed the UTn gig.

    ReplyDelete
  121. From the Ole Miss beat guy:
A morning at the IPF finally produced a phone conversation with one Ole Miss football coach Houston Nutt. I asked him point blank about the Auburn job and he said "It's just rumors. That's all it is. I've had absolutely no contact with Auburn. They'll have to carry me out of here in a pine box if they want me to leave Ole Miss." He also said Auburn has not talked with his agent Jimmy Sexton.

I may have added 1 line in there.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Hey, anyone else read the comments by Rodney garner?

He still oves AU and would probably come back. It was Tubs that didn't want him, right?

He's been at UGag for 10 yrs now.

I'm really starting to warm up to Jimbo Fisher but if his buyout's 5 million, pass.

He should have had a clause to take at l;east one job and the AU job's been his fave from what I've read.

His ole lady's an AU grad and P. Marshall said he could get a bunch of former AU players to come back and coach.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Why do they have Preston Gothard on this show?

Do they just need a former Bama player sounding foolish for the Bama demographic?

    ReplyDelete
  124. I'm w/ Mr.S,
Let's just chill a while. Things will work out all in due time.
    Jay-G,
I have to believe someone is pulling your leg!!

    ReplyDelete
  125. What up Chris!
I think Fisher's buyout is around $3 million, at least that is what an FSU guy told me.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I think I read today that it was 2.5 until last season when he flirted with WVu.

    Curious.

Jimbo gets a lot of credit from many circles for being a top notch recruiter when at LSU.

What's he done at FSU in the recruiting dept?

    ReplyDelete
  127. gotta go back to work.......check bacl laters.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Anonymous12:42 PM

Why is AU looking at Houston Nutt?

    ReplyDelete
  129. Auburn University athletic director Peter Griffin announced the hiring of Houston "Giggity" Nutt as the Tigers' new head coach.

Griffin said the hiring will work as well as the time he hired Ray Charles as a drivers' education teacher during his days at James Woods High School at Quahog, Rhode Island.

jet's take: I like Nutt, in the way I like "Family Guy." It's a guilty pleasure, but for Pete's sake, let's do a LOT better than this.

    BOOM SHAKALAKA!

    ReplyDelete
  130. anon did you get it figured out...
only fsj is the closet bammmer

    ReplyDelete
  131. Nobody has said that Auburn is looking at Nutt except Nutt's agent is my guess.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Anonymous12:46 PM

Butch Davis is not a good hire. He sounds like the real deal, but he is easily dissapoints. I live near Chapel Hill, follow UNC closely, and have been to games. Good recruiter, but not a good game coach. The blitzing aggressive D will be gone, and he doesn't add much to the O. I liked CTT but wanted more fire out of him. Davis would be like CTT on downers.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Preston Gothard got screwed out of a touchdown catch at Happy Valley in 1983 worse than any I have ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  134. So Miami made Butch Davis?

    Butch Davis didn't rebuild Miami?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Leach and Muschamp not candidates according to Bham news.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Is jay in auburn? They said they were gonna try and call him.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Seriously, spurrier and muschamp are the top choices?

    ReplyDelete
  138. FSJ ... I'm thinking Sexton is the News' top source ... I'm taking that info with a boulder of salt.

Also remember, that the News reported weeks ago that AU was trying raise 16-17 million.

    Tubby = 6
    Petrino escape = 10

    Coincidence? Hmmmm.

I still think it's one of those two.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Addendum to my recent post ... I still think it's one of those two (Petrino/Muschamp).

    ReplyDelete
  140. Chris Peterson to Miss State.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Anonymous12:55 PM

I didn't say Davis was a "bad" coach, just not a good hire. He's an average coach with very conservative defensive tendancies. Prevent is his favorite scheme, and it cost him at least three games this season alone. Last year he blew the USC (east-coast variety) with a boneheaded call when he had the OBC beat. He's just not good under pressure.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Jay, yesterday, I mentioned that I was hearing CHARLIE STRONG's name a good bit.

Today, I had a Birmingham guy that has ties to Auburn confirm that he was going to get an interview.

    Are you hearing that?

    ReplyDelete

  145. Didn't Florida win a national championship with Leak and Tebow?

    ReplyDelete
  146. So much for my "scientologists won't be hired in the south" theory. We've come a long way, folks

    ReplyDelete
  147. I think the Nutt thing is just a ploy to get us to accept Mike Leach better. It lets us know how bad it could have been.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Michael, can you find me a valid source that says he is a scientologist?

    ReplyDelete
  149. Surely my alarm will sound soon and I will awake from this terrible dream that Houston Nutt and Jimbo Fisher may be our top HC candidates.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Anonymous1:12 PM

Scratch Houston Nutt according to JOX.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I've changed my mind. I would be happy if it was Spurrier.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Anonymous1:14 PM

    Spurrier?

  153. Monica as much as I love you, we are diametrically opposed on coaching choices. ;-)

  154. is there a reputable source for petersen to MSU?

    For Jay G

    - Not Tim

  156. I didn't say he was my choice. I said I could be happy.

Kristina - Who is on your wish list?

i'm sick of people reporting that coaches have turned down the job...have we even heard that the job has been offerred to anyone yet?

    ReplyDelete
  158. Spurrier= No fire in the belly.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Once again - If you're going to call Jacobs a liar on the air shouldn't you offer some support for that? Even if it's your "opinion" isn't there at least a very LOW bar of accountability considering the public forum you enjoy?

  160. Monica, dont you know I am one of those people who just knocks down everyone's suggestions but makes none of her own...lol

Petersen who according to a MSU (as in Michigain State?!?!) site, he is going to Miss State. I dont know, really. Maybe Johnson?

  161. Faker - Get your own material.

Why not try to go after Butch Davis? Or Dickerson from ASU?

    Mike Leach? Houston Nutt?

    Our AD/Boosters have lost it.

  163. I'm trying to figure out if Sam the Eagle or the Cobra Viper is my favorite picture on here.

  164. Oh boy...another Johnson fan.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Kristina - Well, then we're not diametrically opposed on coaching choices as Paul Johnson as been at the top of my list.

  168. jhag,

  169. I'm shocked Preston Gothard picked Alabama...of course he is a genius this year.

  170. Anonymous1:27 PM

Who in their right f-cking mind would be happy about Nutt? I don't think that's as real as the hacking Scarbinsky's of the world "think".

    ReplyDelete
  171. Dang Petersen is a scientologist? Yea I doubt that would fly in AL. MSU got a great coach if that's true.

Chris FSU has taken a few AU commits over the years. Last year it was 6'3" WR Jarmon Fortson, 4/5* player. I dont know if that was Jimbo's doing or not.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Crudup, Nutt has to be a red herring...

    ReplyDelete
  173. Anonymous1:29 PM

    James in B'ham:

Nutt is not the second coming of Tubs. Tubs has so much more class than Nutt. If we're going to swap 8 win coaches give me Tubs and I'll understand mediocrity.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Can ANYONE give me a valid source that says Petersen is a scientologist?

    ReplyDelete
  175. What is Chris Petersen thinking if he is going to take the Miss. State job?

Has anybody actually been to Starkvegas?

    Oh my.....

Jay, you should post the links to the feed when you go on air. We're challenged by simply too much information to take in.

  190. Crudup:

I do not want Paul Johnson at Auburn....Another Pat Dye, IMO

After that, obviously I don't want Petrino or Davis.

Spurrier does not scare me. Neither does Houston Nutt even though they are good coaches. Saban would eat them alive in recruiting.

    Leach doesn't fit at Auburn.

    Don't know much about Kelly.

    ReplyDelete
  191. Anonymous1:38 PM

does anybody else think the guys on mont. sports talk are goobs?

    ReplyDelete
  192. Anonymous1:38 PM

Brian Kelly? Now there's a name with no name recognition.

My brother's manager's brother's uncle's best fried said Darth Visor had his head tilted downa and left, right eye brow raises, and mouth tightened in the form of a surgical tear. That, of course, indicates interest in the Auburn job.
