  2. When is that new bball arena going to be completed?

  3. Jay, I was sporting the shirt at the game tonight, got some pretty strange looks. I reckon acronyms are intriguing. One guy stopped me in the restroom and actually said this to me....in the men's room mind you, "Turn around and let me see it from the back."

Note to any HABOTN tee shirt owners, DO NOT WEAR TO MEN's RESTROOM.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Will, sorry you were nearly attacked in the men's room for wearing such a pimp-daddy shirt. :)

good work tonite JGT. really dig the timeout updates.

also love any scoreboard that says AUBURN WINS!

travel safely back to the gump.

  5. Good win for Auburn tonight. I expected it to be a close game.

I hope they can keep the momentum going now. It would be nice to be 10-4 going into South Carolina next month. That would give me some hope for an above .500 season and an NIT berth.

    "This is for Gene Chizik!"

  7. The new arena is suppose to be ready for the 2010-11 season.

I am excited to see us actually get into SEC play. This team doesn't seem great, but they seem much better than we have had in recent years.

  8. We can't buy a free throw.

What is it about Lebo that causes us to not be able to hit free throws? I assume Dean Smith showed him how to when he was at UNC.

I know fundamentals aren't good anywhere in college basketball, but we are far below average in that category and have been for years.

  9. Jay - When I heard this story this morning on ESPN I wondered what your take would be.

"Detroit News columnist Rob Parker asked Marinelli(Detroit Head Coach) if he wished his daughter married a better defensive coordinator, taking a shot at his son-in-law Joe Barry, after Sunday's 42-7 loss to New Orleans."

Do you think beat writer, Rob Parker, "crossed the line" with this question?

Good morning and Merry Christmas, HOTTIES!!! I was just getting caught up on yesterday's blog. After I left, all the fun started! Monica, I was a little shocked by your "Names" post!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Was it too bad? I should probably clean up my act, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anonymous6:21 AM

Well, coming from you, it was just a little shocking, that's all. :-)

The post that made me LOL was when you read a post and started snorting and your boss walked in. Good Times.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Then I have you fooled, Luv! LOL
Yeah, the boss catching me mid-Michael post left me with red cheeks for sure!

michael can come up with some good stuff. Do you have big plans for the holidays?

It's good to see the AU men finally putting some W's on the board! Thanks for covering it Jay.

  18. Luv - We'll do Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve and then our family gathers at Greg's mom's house on Christmas for a big dinner, etc.

    How about you?

  19. morning HOTTIES! another day of inventory here in knox-vegas. yippee.

auburnsports.com reports that our favorite backup QB Chris Todd is finally going to have shoulder surgery. JG, why the heck did it take so long to decide this?????

  20. Mornin' everybody. Looks like it's gonna be another low key day here at the office. So I will be watching with great antici......pation at all the great news coming out of Auburn today. Yep been at work an hour and my mind is already numb.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Christmas Eve Eve inventory SUCKS! Shame on Scottie B's boss.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agreed MrTommy. Another boring day at work. At least I get to go to the Apple store to replace a company issued Iphone and then home early. Anything to kill time at this point. As a famous line from Stanley on the Office: "This is a run the clock out situation."

    ReplyDelete
  23. Eddie, while you're there, can you ask them why my mac suddenly started going to a command screen, saying "root user not found," then going to the blue startup screen forever? I'm pretty sure its a lost cause, but not sure what happened.

    ReplyDelete
  24. oooohhhh. I like google chrome. it makes the HABOTN really fast. and doesn't give me that non-matching security warning that IE does, just a warning icon in the corner.

    ReplyDelete
  25. SFC,

I think this team has a "chance", to go 8-8 in conference play (and I say that as a positive thing).

Two of the biggest SEC games this year are at home (UT and UF). If you can steal one of those, take care of your divisional opponents at home, and steal a couple on the road then 19-12 looks like a good possibility.

However, RK makes a good point about FT shooting. Consistently shooting 60% or less at the line will cost Auburn a couple of more games this year. CJL needs to make these guys sit at the line for hours each week, just practicing FTs.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I agree James. I have never understood how a basketball player, especially a professional basketball player, can not shoot free throws. No pressure. No one guarding you. Just practice, practice, practice. Poor Free Throw shooting really gets me peeved!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Florida is going to see a "new attitude" Oklahoma for the championship game. Sounds like Stoops is on a mission. He is taking his team out a day later, imposing curfews, etc. He wants this win. He's been embarrassed in several past bowl games, one that Auburn should have been playing in instead of them.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous9:06 AM

Monica, sorry it took me so long to respond. I'm at work and I had to do several portable CXR's.

Your favorite part is the big dinner, right? ;-)

I'll be flying up to PA tomorrow to spend Christmas with my family.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous9:07 AM

It should still be a good game right, Kathy?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm glad the cold front will be over in Atlanta before tomorrow.

Where's the Chiz- been the last couple of days? Who's he visited, what coaches has he talked to?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think it will be a great game Luv. Two Heisman QBs facing off. Should be some exciting offense.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Chiz probably had some Christmas shopping to do!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous9:13 AM

    I love me some offense!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anonymous9:13 AM

Chiz had to restock his wardrobe with Orange and Blue!

    ReplyDelete
  35. By Christmas Shopping, you mean coordinator shopping, right?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Scottie B I agree. Maybe they thought Chris Todd's shoulder would heal with rest and rehab and it hasn't. I wonder if this will end his career?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Luv, I LOVE offense too, something we haven't seen in a LONG time! Good point about the orange and blue. I imagine he got rid of those clothes a long time ago.

Hopefully OC/DC are on top of his shopping list Peter!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think the only matchup I would have rather seen than OK v UF would be UF v TX. Now that would be a great game.

    ReplyDelete
  39. LOL yeah, Luv. I'm just going to take a few cans of cream of anything and dump it on whatever is served. I kid! :-)
Flying on Christmas Eve? You're a brave girl, indeed. Wave as you fly over Huntington.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I thought Todd already had shoulder surgery before coming to Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  41. you know Kathy, it's possible that his shoulder was surgically removed before he got to AU

    ReplyDelete
  42. Eddie - Your Disney pictures are great. Looks like y'all had big fun. Your toddler was in heaven.

    ReplyDelete
  43. MrTommy - That would explain SO much. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  44. what's GOOGLE Chrome? sounds fancy PF.

i hope the best for C.Todd. who knows what would've happened this year if he had been healthy and CTF's offense actually somewhat worked.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Mornin', peeps.

Monica ... on the Detroit coach thing ... I'd have to know the relationship between the columnist and the coaches involved. After 10 years of covering Tuberville, we all had a lot of inside jokes with him that might sound awkward if brought up in a press conference. I'll elaborate on this later.

Your Auburn Tigers: On a three-game winning streak. How about that?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Google Chrome is a browser for that shady operating system that starts with a "W".

Anyone interested in an afternoon campfire?

    ReplyDelete
  47. scottie b, it's google's new browser. faster then internet explorer, for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  48. if, by afternoon, you mean 1:00pm cdt, I'm up.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thanks Monica. Emma loved Disney. Glad you enjoyed the picures.

  50. Anonymous9:33 AM

Yes, Monica, I hated to leave then, but I have to work! I don't even have three days of vacation time, but I'm going anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I have a lunch date with Wifey, so 1 p.m. is out.

Might be able to hit 2 or 3 or 4.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I hope to be gone by 1pm EST, so I probably won't be around. Now works good :).

    ReplyDelete
  53. LOL MrTommy. That would explain a lot! I wish Todd well.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I need to get a pic of my new tat up! Kristina's husband seemed lukewarm to it last night.

    I think he needs one.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Mornings are made for exercise.

    Can't campfire in the mornings.

    (It's a verb now.)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I've got a new tat on my tooth! My husband tattoo'ed an AU on my new crown, back molar. No pain with those kind.

    ReplyDelete
  57. seriously? on your tooth? ...and you're married to a tattoo artist? that's kinda neat.

    ReplyDelete
  58. 3pm is still cool with me. won't be there if its any later.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous9:46 AM

I have never heard of a tattoo on someone's tooth!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Actually I'm married to a dental tech who owns a dental lab. One of our dentists loves to have him put tattoos on certain clients. The best have been a goofy and a blue bird. He surprised me with the AU. My dentist showed it to me before he put it on.

    ReplyDelete
  61. explain the process of a tooth tattoo? Is it actually done with needles, or is is more of a painting. how quickly does it wear out?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Jay - RE: Detroit beat writer thing. I thought the reaction was over the top, but thought maybe I was missing something. I look forward to your more later.

    Dental tats...wow...

    ReplyDelete
  63. A tooth tattoo is actually drawn and painted on the crown before the firing process. It definitely takes talent. It is fired into the porcelain so it is permanent and never fades. It last longer than you do! Morbidly, I could be identified by the crown alone.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anonymous9:55 AM

but, if it's a molar, who sees it?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Luv, my dentist, hygienist, and husband, and anyone I want to show it to! Just like a tat. He can put them on any tooth.

    ReplyDelete
  66. It is absolutely AMAZING, the stuff you learn on this blog.

yeah I wish Chris all the best, but I'm not going to hold my breath on his comeback

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous10:01 AM

Kathy, is it put on the top or the side of the tooth? (just trying to get the visual)

    ReplyDelete
  68. "Wanna see my dental tat?"

That line could take you so many places!

    ReplyDelete
  69. So pain is the reason people don't get tattoos?

    ReplyDelete
  70. It's on the front of my tooth. Pain was the reason I didn't get a body tattoo. Now it's just age. My oldest daughter has several body tattoos. My youngest is trying to decide what and where she wants one.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Heck yes...PAIN is a big reason....

    I'm a wimp at heart

    ReplyDelete
  72. Am I REALLY supposed to resist commenting on that, Faker?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Anonymous10:12 AM

    it is Christmas, Monica...

    ReplyDelete
  74. I have four tats now and I was the oldest patron in the parlor each time. So it goes.

Good morning and Merry Christmas, AUnMobile!

  81. Jet contrails ...

    1. If I were Rod Marinelli, I would have pummeled the beat writer ... as a going away gift. The question was completely inapprpropriate -- the team is 0-15, and you're referencing the daughter.

    2. A second potential response, "Did the wrong Marine reach Iwo Jima first that led to your conception? Next question."

    3. If you have to put "Auburn Wins!" on the jumbotron after beating ASU, then should we be concerned.

    4. Campfire is a noun, verb, advjective and can be used as an adverb when the appropriate "ly" is added as in "The campfiring HOTTIES campfired by the campfire on a cold December afternoon, and the experience was campfirely."

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hi Luv....

Hope you get all the gifts you are wanting on Christmas Monring!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Pain is also the reason to get a tattoo...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Jet,
Do we really want to think that hard on the eve before Christmas eve?

    ReplyDelete
  85. As Clubber Lang said in Rocky III, "Prediction? Pain."

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm heading off to exercise.

    See you around 2.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Campfire at 2pm

umm...what would you like to know?

    ReplyDelete
  92. PF - I am a linux person, not a Mac person, but since the Mac OS is unix based it appears that your root user account and probably the accounts for all users have been corrupted. I would try upgrading your OS, even to the same version, and seeing if it corrects the problem. If that doesn't work, I would use a recovery disk and go in and recreate the user accounts. You probably need to find a Mac OS guy or a linux guy to take a look. The error you mention doesn't mean your files are gone. Your operating system is just hosed up.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Now, all we need is a tooth that plays the Auburn fight song. That would shut some Bambis up.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I want to know about the three Tats adn why you got them? Sahre details

    ReplyDelete
  95. Jay's got a new thread up.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Anonymous10:34 AM

I have a dolphin on my ankle, a killer whale on my shoulder and a trio of dolphins on the small of my back. Why did I get them? Hmmm...the first one was kinda on a whim. The second one I got about two weeks later because I liked the first one so much.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Luv - I am not sweet at all! I am mean, mean, mean!! :-)

    Mobile - Good morning!

Jet - That post was campfirelicious!

Peter - Freakish overshare. I like that. Though some of us already knew this.

I don't do tats. A tooth that played the fightsong? Sign me up!
