Tuberville out

That's a wrap on coach Tommy Tuberville's 10-year reign at Auburn.

He's meeting with assistant coach Eddie Gran and other associates at this moment in Gran's office. I'll post more as it becomes available.

Other stuff:
  • Players' meeting is at 6 p.m. Many players are walking around and asking about the situation. Most seem calm. I saw a few that were pretty doggone upset. Don't ask; I won't name names.

  • Still waiting on an official announcement.

  1. Thanks for the work Jay.

  2. Thanks Jay, do you think Paul Rhodes and James Willis will turn that plane around?

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'll check that in a minute or two!

    ReplyDelete
  4. and to re-post a question from the last thread...do you think this means they already have another coach?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I would think they're well on their way to a new coach.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Thanks for all your hard work Jay!

    Thanks, Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Sorry about the earlier goof up jay. Thanks for your hard work and dedication.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Dang, no twitter? After two phone calls already, I feel like I was the last to know.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Simply incredible. Thanks for the on site coverage Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I hope so Scott, if not, this could get ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wow. Just wow. I hate to see it end this way, I really do. He was a good coach, but stubborn to a fault in my opinion...and it caught up to him. His loyalty to less than competent assistant coaches became more important than the overall goal: winning football games.

Good luck to him. This will be perhaps the most critical hire in AU football history.

    I'm kinda giddy, though!

    ReplyDelete
  13. wow turmoil for years to come...this is a black eye for draggin tuberville and kicking him while hes down if you ask me...Thanks for the accuracy JAY!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Thanks Jay. As a person with a Journalism degree who has worked in newspaper, TV, and radio, I sincerely appreciate your concern with getting it right before getting it first and pushing rumors. It's refreshing!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'll second Kristina's thanks, Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thanks Jay. Your awesome for all you do for us Hotties.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Leach = HUGE mistake

    ReplyDelete
  18. Jay, when you get a chance, what is the policy on posting links here and for posting copy and pastes from other sources. I assumed that links were okay, but copying of articles would be a big time no no.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I will wait for the full details to come out before lambasting anybody and I also preface this by saying I hope for nothing but the best for our program and its players in the coming years, but I'm pretty disappointed in my university right now.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks for your efforts Jay. I also appreciate you waiting to confirm. Lord knows we've had enough rumors this week.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I am sorry to see him go! Jay thanks for all of the time and effort in keeping us uptodate.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This move is bittersweet. I was for Tubs for quite awhile, but I wanted change after the bama game for better or WORSE. I'm praying not worse. This is a very critical hire for Auburn. They better get the right coach, or we are in for some long hard times. With that said, everybody should appreciate what Tubs has done for Auburn. I do.

    ReplyDelete
  23. will,

i don't think the rumors are over for this week

    ReplyDelete
  24. What has Leach accomplished that Tuberville hasn't...nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Can't wait for the buyout details

    ReplyDelete
  26. I would say they need to introduce someone by Friday...if not them Monday...cant do it over the weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Jay,

I hope you honestly did believe them when they said they were off to go recruit.

    ReplyDelete
  28. My sources tell me that Jacobs is trying to hire an OC before getting a HC.

Well, actually, I don't have sources, but that wouldn't suprise me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. jay better accurate than a fool. thanks for putting the time in this year.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Geoff,

what does that question even mean?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Jay what's the % up to?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Something tells me we're about to enter a long dark period if we go after Leach or Petrino.

    ReplyDelete
  33. They'll introduce a new coach on Friday...

Get a ton of coverage during the SEC Championship game that way.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jay,

Do you think CTT actually helped try to line up his replacement. Silly question, but today is the day.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't think they would let them take the AU jet on vacation.

    ReplyDelete
  36. yes, eddie bittersweet.......just got done with my meeting and now I am sad again after the weekend...hope they know what they're doing at Auburn

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm going to be out of the loop for the next few days. No internet at my disposal AND I have to study for the GRE. Horrible timing on my part.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I believe that the new coach has been getting spoken in to in earnest since about the Tennessee game.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Seeker haahah id say 99.99

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jay, how many sources do you need to confirm a story this important?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm headed home and will be on lurking later....just feeling...not sure what

    ReplyDelete
  42. Listening to talk radio and one of the assistant coaches wife's called in upset because they found out from other people. This is just foul on the admin's part.

    ReplyDelete
  43. My guess is that this will set the program back for 2 or 3 years at the least. Hopefully it won't turn into decades.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Stubbs- I don't think it's quantity,, but quality of sources

    ReplyDelete
  45. John....As many as it takes which is exactly what he should do.

    ReplyDelete
  46. WEG, I agree. I don't know how I feel about this.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Steve-The Franklin hire already did that

    ReplyDelete
  48. Seriously people, if you are a journalist then start your own blog and scoop everyone. If you are not a journalist then lay off...

    ReplyDelete
  49. It's like an early Christmas present!

TT is a good guy and I wish him the best in whatever he decides to do. He righted the AU ship when it needed to be done, and for that as supporters we should be grateful.

Now, let the deluge of names begin for his replacement.

    ReplyDelete
  50. The Franklin hire will pale in comparison to this dumb decision.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous4:41 PM

Mike Leach with Tony Franklin as qb's coach...

I'm still holding out for Chris Peterson from Boise.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Get em Kristina...

    ReplyDelete
  53. so dan patrick says he expects Will Muschamp to be next au head coach

    ReplyDelete
  54. I had thought we might have a shot at the SEC West next season if the offense came around. Now everything is up in the air. I didn't see Franklin as a multi-year setback. This definitely will be and it will start with recruiting. Now they must hire a huge name, or we are in serious trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I hope I wasn't out of line in posting that PM had confirmed the firing... If I was, Jay, please let me know.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Please let it be SPURRIER

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ha!

    % up to 100.

    Players' meeting at 6.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thanks for your hard work Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  59. can we please delay the campfire until atleast 9PM i've got a dinner appointment with some custoemrs today earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well,
if this is a done deal... thanks CTT... we appreciate all you did, wish they had given you another year to right the ship but Auburn must move on...

We need a HR on the new HC!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. No Covington you weren't out of line. I think Jay was ok with it..

The idiots need to lay off of Jay though.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I detect that there will some bitterness on the part of the A. coaches wives. Unfortunately, when you have football coaches making the kind of money that they all are making, there is not much sympathy from the common fan out there. Back in the days when assistant coaches lived in faculty housing and made the kind of money that was on par with alot of fans, yeah there was sympathy. But they are all six figures with tons of perks.

I just want to have a coach signed soon.

    ReplyDelete
  63. It is really too early to see how dumb of a decision this was, but the way it was done was definitely dumb. Now, hopefully they will make up with it with a hi profile hire, but we are likely relegated to the lower half of the SEC West for the near term.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Please don't laugh or point fingers but I seriously think Muschamp could be the next HC

    ReplyDelete
  65. Set the program back 2 years?

Umm, yeah -- like going 5-7 , losing to Bammer by 36 & getting shut out and not going to a bowl.

    Something like that?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think a campfire would be out of control right now! Kodi Burns is probably freakin out. He may be a free safety next season.

    ReplyDelete
  67. jay is this emotional for you since you have cover tuberville since day 1 and that was right when you started?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Brain Kelly
    Jimbo Fisher
    Derek Dooley - Saban Protege
    Stacey Searles - Saban Protege

    ReplyDelete
  69. PM is acceptable on this blog. At least by me. Jay says no one works harder.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Jay -- % this is the guy:

    Spurrtier

    Davis

    Leach

    ReplyDelete
  71. I still think Brian Kelly is a legitimate candidate. He's done nothing but WIN in his time as a coach.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Awful. Just awful.

    We will rue this day...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Good job Jay! You're a beast with this blog. Dont take any crap from these shade tree journalist!

    ReplyDelete
  74. muschamp just sign as HCIW at UT. it wont be him.

    Do not hire:
    fulmer
    leach
    willingham
    croom
    tommy bowden

    Hire:
    Butch Davis
is there even anyone else good enough or better than tubbs?

    ReplyDelete
  75. It's going to be a long night for Jay. I look forward to the details of the situation, candidates and player reactions.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Chris, I expected us to compete for the West next season. Now it is very likely we will come in fifth.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Thanks, FSJ. I hope you're right. I was just trying to be helpful in the midst of some uncertainly. Jay and Phillip are the only guys I put a lot of stock in when it comes to Auburn sports.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anonymous4:46 PM

I wonder if Texas knew somewhere like Auburn was already putting feelers out for Muschamp a few weeks ago. That head coach in waiting announcement seemed like somewhat of a knee jerk, and really impromptu.

    ReplyDelete
  79. What in 2008 makes you think this team would compete?

    ANYTHING at all?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I have never seen Auburn do this to a coach. It is sad.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I really dont care if they are high profile as long as they win

    ReplyDelete
  82. For all of those who wanted him gone, you have your wish.....

Lets see if the new guy can turn it around in 5 games as that seems to be Auburns limit.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Taylor- Muchamp has agreed in principal with Texas, but not signed. He is very much in play.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Auburn has canned plenty of coaches...tator tot was much worse

    ReplyDelete
  85. I say we hire Will Muschamp. Mack Brown isn't quitting anytime soon. Give him 1.5 mil and he'll take it over the "future head coach" title

    ReplyDelete
  86. Steve....were you around in 03?

    ReplyDelete
  87. I have a theory that everyone loses their effectiveness after time. Some sooner than others. Looking back, after 2005, CTT was in steady decline. In this case CTT had some problems, burned up a ton of goodwill last year, and, frankly, I don't see how he could change things next year with the awful quarterback situation we have.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous4:47 PM

    How about Jimbo Fisher?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Taylor, has the contract been signed? Why not Muschamp? He knows Auburn, he knows what is expected, he knows what kind of recruits you can get at Auburn and where Auburn recruits, he is knows what of facilities Auburn has, etc..
    Just my opinion though

    ReplyDelete
  90. Sensi:

I've never been that impressed with Fisher

    ReplyDelete
  91. Chris, all you have to do is take a look at the roster. We loose very little, especially defensively. Doolittle is probably the biggest loss on defense.

Offensively, we seem to be set with the talent to be good if it is utilized. There is plenty of talent at most of the positions, particularly wide receiver, that has been underutilized.

We are basically a very young team that won't loose much to graduation, so I thought we would be pretty good next season until now.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Great work by Jay in my opinion. Verifying news as true is more important than being first. I think it was a move that had to be made, but it was also risky. Hope it works out for all involved, including CTT.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Guys winning in a 'lesser' conference is not enough for the next HC here. Every coach in the SEC was a winner before they got here. The next HC has got to be able to recruit Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. He's got to win like CTT did, graduate players like CTT did, and yes beat AL like he did. That's a lot to ask from a current assistant coach or someone from a 'lesser' conference.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Yeah, maybe Tuberville can pre-select Eddie Gran as his designee.

Jeezum, people. Can you not see that Tuberville and his incompetent staff were infected with a herpes-like case of hubris? Some of you folks are certifiable.

Good Lord. Look at what he had, and pissed away. Name a game-breaker we have on offense (and don't say Mario Fannin, because I want names of guys we'll play when the game's on the line.)

Tuberville, Gran, Nall and Knox should be dragged behind a truck for a half-mile. You people calling this "bittersweet" are on heavy drugs.

And Steve from Columbia, you're the biggest kool-aid drinker of all. Saturday night you said people who judged the quality of a season based on wins and losses were ignorant. Now you say the program's been set back 2-3 years?

Guess what, genius? Tuberville had already assured that was the case. There's a guy coaching in Tuscaloosa who's determined to destroy Auburn. We've got (or had, till today) an aw-shucks guy who turned an 8-4 average into a gold mine by beating Alabama when that program was at its lowest point in 3 generations.

He's a chronic choker, and right now, way the hell out of his league. I'm glad my alma mater is willing to take the PR hit, rather than suffer through another year of a downward spiral at the hands of Tuberville and is band of incompetent retards called assistants.

    Jeezum.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Anonymous4:51 PM

JKev, don't speak ill of the departed. Show some class. That's what we are known for brother. I'm glad the change was made, but I don't hate Tubs.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Auburn will pull a Brinks truck up to the following doorsteps:

    - Petrino
    - Davis
    - Johnson

    ReplyDelete
  97. AUBigCat -

Not to get into a disagreement, but Jim Tressel went to Ohio State from 1-AA Youngstown State. I'd say he's done pretty well. And Urban Meyer came from Utah. Just sayin'...

    ReplyDelete
  98. I agree Brad. You never know.

    ReplyDelete
  99. this is a miserable decision...

If we hire mike leach we will be back to running tony franklin's offense that we saw the first 6 games this year

    ReplyDelete
  100. I have never seen Auburn do this to a coach. It is sad.

What give him 6 mill to do nothing not sad at all.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Anonymous4:52 PM

Was a good rant though, JKev.

By the way, I take my class hat off for a second.

Mr. United - at least I don't script my calls or my show, man.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Paul Johnson...JD would not be a fan of!!!

    ReplyDelete
  103. If Paul Johnson comes i am headed to the Opelika Airport...who is with me?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Paul Johnson is a heckuva coach

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous4:54 PM

j.kev, those last two paragraphs are spot on. When seven out of ten years you lose four or more games and get one BCS and conference championship win you are anything buy irreplaceable.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Let's have a chaotic campfire!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I really wish we had kept Tubs, but it is a little early to start talking like this decision will set us back a few years. Kind of like how it was premature to crown us SEC champs after a certain coaching hire last December...

So anyway, give the next coach a chance. He may be great for us. You never know. It would have been silly to say we were screwed if Tubs stayed or screwed if he left. No one knows. We will see. War Eagle.

But really, how horribly was this handled? I have to say, I take back my comment on the Jays taking band-aids off slowly and methodically. When they take a band-aid off, they just instead slowly dig out the band-aided skin with a dull spoon.

    ReplyDelete
  108. So when a new coach flies into the Opelika-Auburn airport, are we all going to be there tailgating? LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Any idea when the "official announcement" will be made?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Mr. S, is JKev Mr. U???

    ReplyDelete
  111. Well Brad...Auburn aint Ohio State or Florida. We dont have the same pull with recruits or the media. I doubt we will ever have a roster full of 4* and 5* recruits.

    ReplyDelete
  112. the naughty girl in me kinda wants petrino

    ReplyDelete
  113. Just,

Let's hope we don't have an Auburn version of Collete waiting for someone...

    ReplyDelete
  114. In my opinion Leach is a one hit wonder. He is a lateral move at best; they had better do better than that. Petrino would be ok but to me the #1 on my list is Butch Davis.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Fight that naughty urge Kristina...

    FIGHT IT!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  116. James, I'm hoping we do not have an Auburn version of Collette. But you have to admit she was good times.

    ReplyDelete
  117. i'd take paul johnson in a heartbeat.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Monica will be the Auburn Collette when they hire Jimbo Fisher.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I agree jhag...

Paul Johnson scares the Mike Dubose out of me.

    Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I would take Leach if he came with Michael Crabtree and 3 more years of eligibility and a desire to stay in school that long.

    ReplyDelete
  121. So Jay G., did you bring a sleeping bag to the Athletic complex? Looks like you may be chillin there for a few more days...

    ReplyDelete
  122. espn breaking news finally...does tommy t already have another job lined up they say?

    ReplyDelete
  123. I would like me some Paul Johnson. He would be a breath of fresh air after that which was CTT leaves. I like CTT and I appreciate what he did for Auburn, but unfortunately, as much as I liked him, I believe that time had run out on him.

    ReplyDelete
  124. at the tailgate MonD can play the part of this lady...

    Oh God we love him

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL00FDb5zqc&feature=related

    ReplyDelete
  125. So if it was Petrino, it would be kinda like divorcing your wife and marrying that girl you had an affair with a few years back. Sketch city.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Paul Johnson would be a good option. We could field a pretty sweet option team in a couple of years.

    ReplyDelete
  127. all my buddies in the ACC our saying to offer Paul Johnson saban like cash they are terrified of him and want him out.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think Lowder should already know who he wants as our next coach.

    ReplyDelete
  129. "We bowlin baby, we bowlin"
Collette is such good times. I have to admit every once in a while when I need a laugh I'll watch that video

    ReplyDelete
  130. I think PJ and BD are TOO obvious for choices right now. I can't shake the feeling that this is going to be someone with a NAME, but someone we don't expect.

    ReplyDelete
  131. this is a total disaster

    ReplyDelete
  132. any official word on a campfire..im pretty sure its gonna be scrolling so fast that none of us will be able to read haha

    ReplyDelete
  133. omg this lady on sports call right now...one of the coaches wife

    ReplyDelete
  134. What's she saying, JD?

    ReplyDelete
  135. who is recruiting cotton right now? his wife is on sportscall...

    ReplyDelete
  136. I'm up for a campfire

    ReplyDelete
  137. Lookin like it may be Mike Leach....Don't know if I like that or not.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Coverage for tonight's women's basketball game against North Carolina A&T will be unprecedented.

    ReplyDelete
  139. she's killing the auburn ptb. a coaches wife named amy? her daughter and she found out that her husband/father was going to be with out a job via a text message...

    ReplyDelete
  140. I'd be thinking about:

    Petrino and Paul Johnson.

I'd think Johnson's physical brand of football -- which is wishbone right now, but has been spread-ish in the past -- would be an almost ideal fit.

    ReplyDelete
  141. How does the wife know that the PTB are the leak? Just wondering.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Willis is who is listed as recruiting Cotton

    ReplyDelete
  143. Biscuit- James Willis is recruiting Cotton. I hope whoever the coach is, retains Willis.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I can't do a campfire right now.

Too many people, too much moderation responsibility and I have too much going on.

If you want to hold your own at the batcave, you're certainly welcome to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  145. What's she saying JD? Fill us in.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Campfire would make the internets explode. Too much confusion.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Jay- are you hearing a time frame for coaches?

    ReplyDelete
  148. KS of the ham fish wrapper is saying that Leach has been contacted. Interesting.

The backdoor to the campfire is always open for those that have a Chatroll account. I'm sitting here all alone by the fire as I type...

    ReplyDelete
  149. I can't believe Johnson would leave Tech after one year. would not make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Well, at least Tommy doesn't have to sort through that huge stack of offense coordinator resumes anymore. If he's anything like me, he hates paperwork.

    ReplyDelete
  151. How soon does Auburn need to announce Tuberville's successor?

    ReplyDelete
  152. will muschamp? maybe? Finebaum guy says it might happen

    ReplyDelete
  153. Johnson's stock is really high, as is Leach's. If they are smart, they will get the money while they can. Greg Schiano ring a bell, anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  154. Announce by Friday...Monday at the latest

    ReplyDelete
  155. Let's get someone who has won a championship. Somewhere. Anywhere. What about the Ball STate Guy. What about the Utah coach.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Mark, I think Muschamp is very much in play

    ReplyDelete
  157. I'll be very surprised if Auburn waits beyond Monday to name Tuberville's successor.

    ReplyDelete
  158. she was saying that the way auburn handled the situation was horrible sending the assistants out and then firing the staff. apparently who ever her husband was is sitting in the cotton's house the very moment he found out he was no longer employed. her and her young daughter found out that they were out on their way back from dothan via a text message her daughter recieved from a friend

    ReplyDelete
  159. Muschamp was already named as Mack Brown's successor at Texas. I wish people would stop talking about this moronic possibility of him coming back to AU as a HC.

    ReplyDelete
  160. what about skip holtz?

    ReplyDelete
  161. Lets get the wishbone back at auburn... that will really attract the talent...

    ReplyDelete
  162. I don't Auburn can afford to wait until next week to name the next HC. I'm sorry but I really hope its not Leach - he is the wrong fit for Auburn. Go to youtube and search for some of his press conferences, he would be a much better fit at Washington

    ReplyDelete
  163. Are they considering Dooley at La Tech?

    ReplyDelete
  164. Why do you think that. Johnson just signed a huge deal with Tech. Petrino with Arky. People are still talking about them. Butch signed a deal a couple of years back with NC.

What does that have to do with anything. Don't you think 3 million is more than 900k?

    ReplyDelete
  165. oops let out "Think" between I and Auburn on that last post.

    ReplyDelete
  166. The coachs' wife was named Amy, and she was blasting the Auburn athletics program, especially TPTB about the way this was handled. Also said they liked Auburn, and had made many friends here. I think S Ensmingers' wife is named Amy, but I am not sure. If her last name was given at the beginning of the segment, I missed it.

    ReplyDelete
  167. i get on the treadmill to run a few miles and the sky falls. my goodness.

i'm not a fan of this decision or the way it has been handled. ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Supposedly Petrino is off limits due to some clause in his contract. Whoever the coaching choice ends up being, I'd have to think that the PTB want a more traditional offense minded coach (i.e. no more of that spread).

    ReplyDelete
  169. Ensminger needed to be fired one way or the other. No way she thought he would be back. her coming on a radio show is just idiotic.

take your buyout and shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Where was she quoted?

Why is a coach's WIFE talking to the media?

Jay -- were the players who were upset O guys or D guys?

    Younger or older guys?

    ReplyDelete
  171. padre2,

Head coach in waiting is nothing but a pay raise. What is stopping him from coming to Auburn then leaving once Mack Brown leaves.....In reality all coaches are available even Nick Saban :) but of course we wont be able to get anyone we want.

  173. Chris,

Anyone can call in to a radio show. I don't if that is really like talking to the media. Ensminger is making more money than he was when he was a high school coach. Again, all the coaches make damn good money. Hard to feel to sorry for them.

  174. Mark, where was Emsmingr's wife on the radio??

  175. so, so stupid. Auburn = down in flames.

  176. If real change is what we are looking for what about that Obama guy?....sorry, had to

  177. Coach dunns wife said a coach in misissippi told him of the firing. Something not right here. If that is true The JAYS dropped the ball.

  178. She called in like a regualr Schmoe?

    Wow.

Ok, coaches I would hope are kept ---

Gran: Good recruiter of the So. Fla area.

Willis: another good recruiter and Auburn man.

I hope someone - who ever's hired calls RODNEY GARNER!!!!!!!!!

  179. WHY ARE COACH'S WIVES CALLING RADIO SHOWS?

Oh wow - they're not happy.

    HUGE suprise.

  180. ball state guy, not so much. washington guy, never. i like mike price for the job. oh sweet revenge!

  181. Again I ask...how can Charlie Weis have a job and CTT not?

The way this was handled with these assistant coaches and their families is pathetic. How can you treat the staff of your 4th winningest coach like this? And some of you actually believe this administration is competent enough to hire a suitable replacement??

  182. she also made alot of commments about how no one will beat Nick Saban because of he buys players. and that if auburn wanted a coach who got players by shaking hands with $100 bills they she was glad that they were involved it that. She excused this year as fault of the Board of Trustees move to fire Tuberville in 2003 and the recruits then seniors now as a result of Jetgate. She was harsh!

  183. I happy with the decision.

This season showed me that when balls meet wall, Tuberville s***t his pants.

Saban hired at UBammer -- He freaks out and sends an assistant to hire an OC.

Changes his recruitng strategy and has class filled by spetember.

    He totally craped his pants.

Nothing he's done in 2008 said he needed to be kept.

  184. I know that a legitimate case could be made to fire Coach Tuberville. I can't argue with that. But for some reason I've got a bad, bad feeling about this that I can't shake...

  185. I really don't want willis to be retained. I am not sure that he is a lilly white clean as everyone would like to think he is!

  187. Big Cat, I would think that with the internet and talk radio it would almost be impossible for Tubs to contact all the assistant coaches before the news broke.
