Auburn Undercover is reporting that Trooper is sleeping in AU boxers donated by Anders Book Store. Rivals reports that Trooper can't sleep because he had 3 lemonades at Toomer's and won't be sleeping until June. Rivals reports that T. Boone Pickens purchased Montana as a gift for Trooper and has offered him the title as Assistant Head T. Boone.

You all are incredible!!! I mean think of it, we've got pure bread journalists, former players and coaches, people who REALLY know football and Auburn, and enough stalker/info gatherers to know more about what's going on in Auburn athletics than any other place on the entire internet. And that is just ANOTHER reason the HABOTN rules supreme,

Hearing Tubs talk about wanting to get back into coaching is like hearing about an ex G/F who is now dating someone else. It just feels and spunds awkward to see and hear him discussing football and considering jobs elsewhere. I really don't think I will enjoy watching him coach at another school. It just makes me feel icky thinking about it.

Ron makes valid points regarding schemes that Steele runs now vs. Chizik's schemes. I just don't think that disqualifies him.

My sense is that Chiz's philosophy will emerge. Can Steele teach and scheme that way? FSU, as recall was a 4-3 team during his days there. My guess is that he can teach 4-3... and we know he can recruit like crazy.

Is he in the mix? I dunno. But it's certainly worth exploring. And I'd be happy if it happened.

Just got done watching the Under Armour game. Every time I see a kid with a row of hats in front of him when he makes his verbal commitment, it really makes me want to puke. Not only is it a big ego trip, it's just stupid. Show some class, act like a man and quit playing games. ARRRGH!

Jet...Find me a barbecue joint or a meat and three that offers pumpernickel as an option and I will recant my prior assertion. I wasn't attacking your southernness, just your bread's. As for the paper mill..., in my line of work, it just smells like money to me. War Trooper Luper!

I'm curious why the AU plane didn't return immediately after its arrival in Stillwater. I hope it's hanging around for Coach Taylor to pack a big suitcase for a return to Auburn.

11:12 PM
Blogger Kathy said...

TarHeel, hopefully the plane waits until morning for Trooper to turn in his resignation and pack a bag. I would imagine they have some recruits to see this week. I also noticed there wasn't a returned trip scheduled yet. The pilots have been doing a lot of flying today, and I would expect they have a lot to do this week with the dead period over.

11:17 PM
Blogger Kathy said...

I'm also reading that if TN loses out on Garner, they are going to make a push for Trooper. Who knows? I'll be glad when the staff is announced. I'm curious about who will coach the O-line.

I want to vote for Joe Kines as defensive coordinator and directory of media relations. If that doesn't work out, I would like him as the color commentator on football games.

11:58 PM
Blogger Jet said...

When my son verbally committed to AU (academically) I wanted him to have the hats of his other choices (Tulane and Georgia Tech) on the table, as well as one from UAT and AU.

That what he could have pushed the Tulane and Tech hats off the table, pulled out a Glock and popped 3 caps in the UAT cap, then put the AU hat on and say simply "War Eagle."

OK, maybe that's a slight exaggeration.

Jet,

That's an awesome visual.

Also, everyone what about Boston College telling coach Jag if he interviews for the Jets job, he'll be fired?

6:44 AM
Blogger Eddie McCoy said...

So far I like the hires. I really would love to have Trooper on the staff. That dude is the equilvalent of Muschamp on the sidelines in an offensive role. I remember him vividly from the 2004 SEC Championship game going nuts everytime UT had a big run.

6:44 AM
Blogger Jet said...

I wonder what Coach Jag's "fire me" payoff is ... it would be worth it ... he'd get a good job soon enough.

Boston College, you just lost to Vandy in a bowl game, don't go all big boy on us.

6:58 AM
Blogger Miller said...

Good Morning Hotties! How 'bout ya on this ... Monday morning?

According to the scout board the AU plane is still in Stillwater, with no flight plan scheduled...

Either the pilots needed to down time (true) or they are waiting to bring trooper back to AU (hopefully).

7:04 AM
Blogger WarEagleRK said...

Anyone who went to the SEC title game in 2004 remembers Trooper, not just after a big run, but hitting players during warm ups.

7:12 AM
Blogger Jet said...

I felt like we needed a set of jumper cables on our sideline.

Trooper fits the bill perfectly.

Hopefully, the plane will be collecting prize cargo and heading off onto the recruiting trail.

7:18 AM
Blogger mytommyd said...

So I'm thinking the new coaching group could be called Trooper Luper and the Z's. Mostly becaue that's who we're concentrating on right now, but it kinda works.

Tar - That plane remains in Stillwater and I don't see a scheduled return.

8:40 AM
Blogger j-z said...

Totally off the subject but...

I just heard that Toomer's Corner got rolled after the Utes applied the beatdown to Bama the other night. WTF? That's just low rent. If we had won the Iron Bowl, I'd throw toilet paper all the way out to I-65 (and I have, on several occasions.) But to do it when another school does what we couldn't? Bush League all the way.

I'm not a big fan of police brutality, but AU 5-O should have nipped that in the bud. What do we give those guys Tasers and rubber bullets for?

Now on to better subjects...Any Trooper sightings?

I don't see any reason Ryan Williams won't at least have a chance to return.

He got afoul of Tuberville for a couple reasons. Neither issue is eternally damning ... and may have no effect on Chizik.

C'mon, guys. These are college students. Give 'em a break. There are worse ways to celebrate UA's loss.

With the new hires and potential hires, I remain cautiously optamistic about next season. Very good times may in store...

9:14 AM
Blogger mytommyd said...

Unless the people rolling Toomer's were actual Utah fans. That I could understand. But why would there be an Utes in Auburn?

Side note: am I the only one that thinks Billy Mays is a bit over the top with the yelling and fake black beard thing going on?
