Recruiting syllabus

FRIDAY NOONISH
Post No. 1,017

Hey everyone. Thanks for visiting the HABOTN so frequently last night and this morning. I knew Thursday night would give us plenty to discuss. Gene Chizik certainly didn't disappoint.

One of the things he addressed was how these next few days will be exciting for him. This weekend ought to put a few gray hairs on his head.

That's because Auburn is playing host to some pretty significant prospects. Let's take a gander:
  • WR Rueben Randle (Bastrop, La.): Star wideout. Everybody wants him. Auburn probably won't get him, but simply coaxing a visit from a 5-star recruit doesn't hurt the Tigers' cause.

  • S Daren Bates (Olive Branch, Miss.): Lightly recruited until recently. Committed to Auburn with an Alabama offer in hand. He's teammates with OL Aubrey Phillips, who is a Tennessee commit who may be wavering. Speaking of him ...

  • OL Aubrey Phillips (Olive Branch, Miss.): He has offers from everyone. He's a 6-foot-6 tackle. He told AuburnSports.com that he'll head to Auburn with an open mind. Phillips is one to watch.

  • TB David Oku (suburban Oklahoma City): Elusive, compact back. Listed at 5-10. I watched him play a couple times on TV (I went to HS in Oklahoma and like keeping up with those teams) and he was willing to brawl between the tackles. Looks like a good one to me. He's a Tennessee commitment who is being recruited by Eddie Gran.

  • CB Taikwon Paige (originally of Aiken, S.C.): He's a junior-college guy who was committed to Minnesota when Ted Roof was there. Paige doesn't currently have an offer from Auburn. Rivals.com lists Paige as a 4-star recruit, but he hasn't received offers from many (any?) BCS schools.

  • DT Corey Gaines (Tallahassee, Fla.): Active, spark-plug kind of inside lineman. He has offers from a variety of SEC schools. He seemed to enjoy his visit to Ole Miss last weekend and says the Rebels are his leader. Auburn has several Tallahassee guys on the roster, so perhaps that can help the Tigers' chances this weekend.

  • Other visitors include: LB Greg King (Memphis), DT Jamontay Pilson (Greenville) and QB Clint Moseley (Leroy).

  1. Thank you, Josh for knowing Tyrik's name.

  2. Hmmm this will sure be an interesting weekend. I'm looking for a great wrap-up on Sunday and I know Jay "the Mailman" Tate always deilvers.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Hope we can snag Phillips. That's a big kid

    ReplyDelete
  4. The most fun post on the Rivals Bunker in a few days:

Hmm, that's a good question. I heard from a good source that Rueben Randle would shock the world and pick Auburn after this weekend. Also heard Bobby Massie would end up at Ole Miss. And I know for a fact that Andre Debose was thinking about taking a secret trip out to Southern Cal this weekend but he never made it."

  5. If I could choose any one of these guys it would be Phillips. AU is in dire need of ALL lineman, but OT is at the top of the list. We seem to have a roster overweighted toward interior O-lineman.

  6. Mon,

The small version of your avatar looks like Cat Woman relieving herself in a "manly" kinda way.

    ReplyDelete
  7. weagle83 - LOL, you're absolutely right.
I am proud to admit (though disappointed in myself) that I had not made that observation

    ReplyDelete
  8. It's a whip.

By the way, that's Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Mike Farrell not B.J. Hunnicutt from M*A*S*H*.

Monica, what do you think about the statement about Randle?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Weagle83 - That explains something from the other night. Thank you. HA

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thanks THT....you know i am watching..

Just waiting in the wings for permission to play..

    ReplyDelete
  12. LUV - I think it's fun. Nothing more, nothing less. My heart can't take putting too much stock in anyone's predictions. lol

    ReplyDelete
  13. Monica if someone gave you 7:1 on Randle coming to Auburn how much would you bet?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Your money or mine?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yours, I already bet the house.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm ready to be shocked......bring it on RR

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't bet my money on 17 year olds and their "mentors".

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anonymous1:00 PM

Just sitting back and watching. Does anyone else ever feel like a voyeur or stalker when doing that. Just don't have anything to add as of late. Kind a creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Your brother's wife's cousin's next door neighbor's uncle's money?

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm just glad people have to use Auburn in the same sentence with high-profile recruits, even the ones from off.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I bet every penny that freak had.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Word. That's what I like to hear.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hotties you know if we start a rumor here, it will be the gospel on every AU site and that PF guy will be discussing it this evening.

Jay rivals has Bates as 5-11, Scout and ESPN say he's 6-1. Have you seen him and can you confirm his height?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous1:03 PM

Monica, are your expectations pretty high or are you desparately trying not to get your hopes up?

    ReplyDelete
  25. AU1 - I think the majority of hotties ARE lurkers. At least I THINK.

    ReplyDelete
  26. You guys think we entertain any surprise visitors this weekend like we did last weekend with Benton and Atchison?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I tend to go from very active in a short period of time to long periods of lurking...it really depends on how productive I need to be at work.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I got a feeling that Auburn gets to shockers....RR and TP.

    Just got a feeling!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Can't stay away from work long enough to post much......guess my priorities are out of order

    ReplyDelete
  30. If you mean shocker like Bryce Brown's vacation to Nebraska is code for "I'm taking a visit and committing to Auburn" then I say heck yes.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous1:06 PM

Monica, that wasn't a yes or no question...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anonymous1:06 PM

Yes that is the word I wanted. Lurkers.

Thanks Mon! We didn't get much snow by the way couple of inches and then a good amount of ice. Annoying!

    ReplyDelete
  33. weagle,
hush yo mouth!!!! pots often n early on the HABOTN!111

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anonymous1:06 PM

well, yes it was, but to what are you saying yes?

    ReplyDelete
  35. There is always a lot of disinformation floating around this time of year, from players and schools. See the Dre Kirkpatrick visit to Texas, and Tana Patrick speculation to anywhere but Bama. I would be shocked to see Randle at AU but who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like lurking on HABOTN. Never know when I might post something after being called out :)!

    ReplyDelete
  37. depressed, I've got a whole cooler of Kool-Aid on my desk here at 1 Coca-Cola plaza, I suggest you stop by for a cup.

    ReplyDelete
  38. rumor has it that the ncaa is considering rule changes that will make football more like "thunderdome".

    ReplyDelete
  39. scott!

Still trying to make "Kicker on a Stick" an NCAA sanctioned sport?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Do we know if Randle has actually left Bastrop? I hate getting my hopes up only to have them dashed. So I'll just be "hopeless" until it's confirmed he has arrived.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Apparently Brad Bradshaw left a message telling Auburn to leave him alone, looks like we'll have to get him to sneak out.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sean Z- a cup won't do for me. Better make it a super-sized Big Gulp.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I can ask someone down the hall and see if we can't put it half liter bottles and get ya a case.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Good golly will I be glad when all this 'cruitin is over with. I'm ready for some spring practice and some A Day.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Brad Bradshaw ????? Oh yeah, that's Terry's brother's 2nd and
    4th cousin

    ReplyDelete
  46. Apparently somewhere in that twisted chain of events the guy lost his mind..."I called them and said stay away but they apparently didn't listen to me." What a joke.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Is anyone else making their Superbowl predictions based on the number of former Auburn players on the roster or is that just me?

    ReplyDelete
  48. BigCat, that's perfect. The number of former AU players on the roster is pretty much the only NFL stat I'm concerned with these days... well, that and how many TD's Ronnie Brown ran, caught, or threw. (I almost said "threw for", but then I remembered Monica). dang prepositions.

    ReplyDelete
  49. BigCat as long as the equation means Cardinals win, I'm all for it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 60...the number of points auburn scores in the opener.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Reuben Randle catches 7 balls for 161 yards and 3 TDs. I don't know who's throwing them.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Luv - Yes is the answer to both questions.

AU1 - You didn't get any snow because we're getting all of it. We had a blizzard this morning like I haven't seen since living here and it's still snowing. Crazy.

I have my emergencies supplies loaded, my Saint Christopher necklace on and I'm headed to Ashland, KY. It's normally a 30 minute trip. We'll see how long it takes today.

    Lata hotties

    ReplyDelete
  53. SeanZ - I think those numbers were the offensive prediction for the '08 opener.

    ReplyDelete
  54. TarHeel, if at first you don't succeed...fire Tony Franklin!

    ReplyDelete
  55. As long as Reuben's stats aren't from Greg McElroy throwing it. Of course, I'm sure he and Star Jackson are going to share the next three Heismans

    ReplyDelete
  56. As I write this, it is 1:48 p.m. central standard time on the 30th day of January, in the year 2009 of our Lord.

J-Z ... if I don't see a Kicker on a Stick logo by 3 p.m., I'm makin' a ruling -- and I'm the guy who can make a ruling on you -- that you are going to be diced up into little Autauga County meatballs for my Super Bowl supper.

    Got it?

    ReplyDelete
  57. HA! The HABOTN crack pipe lured me back in just in time to see that wonderful threat from Jet. Which shall hereafter be known as "Jet Threat". I like it. Get ready to make your meatballs, he ain't gonna do it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. mmmmmmmm...meatballs made from people (Homer simpson voice)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Soylent Green meatballs...

    ReplyDelete
  60. I have given up on J-Z and the kicker on a stick logo... it was promised nearly 3 weeks ago and hasn't shown up yet.

    ReplyDelete
  61. D Miller,
    There's your kicker on a stick -->

    ReplyDelete
  62. That looks uncomfortable

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think that's kind of the point... kicker on a stick

    ReplyDelete
  64. Michael Eargle, anybody know anything about this JC recruit visiting this weekend?

    http://auburn.scout.com/a.z?s=6&p=8&c=1&nid=3826556

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank you Aubie.... made my day!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous2:23 PM

but does it get the Jet seal of approval?

    ReplyDelete
  67. I see where Rivals says we are expecting 15 visitors this weekend? They say they have 21 confirmed and possibly as many as 17!?
I can only access the visitor list on scout... and they only have 8 listed... Who are the other 7-9 visitors??

    ReplyDelete
  68. Aubie, despite your disrespect for the sanctity of the Auburn uniform, I salute you for doing in 3 minutes what J-Z has failed to do in a month -- produce a kicker on a stick.

Just kidding about the disrespect thing. Not really. OK, a little. But not a lot.

    Your pal,

    Jet

    ReplyDelete
  69. Jet,
    Glad to help.
I am glad we can look past our differences of color... mine orange jerseys, yours blue... and come together as one.
Well, not literally you understand. figuratively.

    ReplyDelete
  70. D Miller, you have mail

    ReplyDelete
  71. "...who are the other 7-9 visitors?"

    Reuben Randle's entourage

    ReplyDelete
  72. 15-17 is a ton...Scout only has 10 listed as of right now.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I got it... thanks Aubie!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Figuratively, Aubie. Definitely figuratively.

    ReplyDelete
  75. It's OK if you two want to cuddle.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Ok...I have kicker on a stick artwork in hand, but since I've been threatened by a disgruntled state employee, (wait, that's redundant isn't it?), I'll just have to hold on for another day or so.

    ReplyDelete
  77. BigCat: I'll confirm Bates' height this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  78. J-Z ... It's gonna be hard for you hold onto anything ... when don't have any $#%$%$#% HANDS!

    Jet McElroy
Lead Singer and Driver of the Winnebago

    ReplyDelete
  79. Scout reporting that one of the visitors is a 205# OG.... Seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I saw that as well...hope it's a typo.

    ReplyDelete
  81. maybe we are putting another long snapper on scholarship

    ReplyDelete
  82. jet, photoshop an image from the many vlad the impaler shots for the logo. i would, but i'm computeraly impaired.

    ReplyDelete
  83. supposedly there really is a long snapper on an official visit. We are now going to be known as longsnapper U

    ReplyDelete
  84. It just shows Chizik's focus on special teams.

    ReplyDelete
  85. If we can't beat LSU ... we might as well change our name to LSU -- Long Snapper University!

    OK, no.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ron Mexico. All your property to be sold but your closer to a half-way house by the day. Next stop, the NFL. Things are looking up, dawg. Oh, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Put Damon Duval in the Vlad photo

    ReplyDelete
  88. damon duval was a heckuva kicker that tubs nearly ruined (imo). check out his stats in the cfl.

    ReplyDelete
  89. If we sign another long-snapper I will jump out of my window. It's only about a 2-ft fall, but I think it will prove a point.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Just to fan the rumor mills... I have heard that UT fans are up in arms about us stealing three of their commits: David Oku, Aubrey Phillips, and D.T. Shackelford. Perhaps it's just paranoia.

I have also heard that OL Johnnie Farms might be a visitor. Apparently he had a recent visit from Roof. Also CB Gerald West, a soft commit with UA. Looks like there might be some nice suprises on Wednesday after all.

    ReplyDelete
  91. After this weekend, can coaches still contact/visit players on monday and tuesday?

    ReplyDelete
  92. Can we agree to stay away from the term "Shocker?" It brings back some unpleasant memories.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I would dance a little jig in public if we could snag those three (former) UT kids. I will grin with glee at their righteous hillbilly indignation, which stems mostly from the sense of entitlement that comes from overpaying Kiffins2 and Ogreon. Luv it.

However, WHERE are we going to put all these kids??? Not counting chickens prematurely, but do we have any room for big time surprises (now that we've signed three dozen 5'8" slot receivers)???

    ReplyDelete
  94. never liked ut. a cousin of mine has promised to include me in her yacht party next time we play up there--that has to be a cool way to get to a game.

    ReplyDelete
  95. J-Z...I think I speak for everyone when I say that we don't want to hear your shocker story

    ReplyDelete
  96. Of course, a yacht in Tennessee is a piece of plywood stretched across four innertubes.

It would be like Carnell-Ronnie Redux to snatch some guys from Layla's husband and father-in-law, as well as the coach for whom English is a second language.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I have a shocker article for you guys!

    Bryce Brown

His mentor is running some kind of spiritual, non-profit, training camp?? Whatever it is, he claims that the 215-pound Brown has gone from clocking a 4.43 40-yard dash to a 4.28. All that for just $18 per session. And you fans can subscribe to get updates on all of his players for just $9.95. I must admit, it's creative.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Comm'r, that's why I was surprised with Gulleys commitment. Brandon Heavens is visiting Miss St this weekend, and I'm wondering if he is still solid to AU and vice versa. There have been rumblings since Chizik arrived that he was not overly thrilled with some of Tubs commitments and I've been trying to figure out who they might be. This could be one of the more interesting signing days AU has had recently.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Is Bryce Brown now a member of the People's Temple?

    ReplyDelete
  100. i don't care how good he is. that's too weird for me

    ReplyDelete
  101. Has anyone ever been to Shula's Steakhouse?

    ReplyDelete
  102. I'm OK with him ... just as long as he doesn't want his teammates to come over to his apartment for some Koolaid.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Shula's has the best steak in the world. Also be sure to get the BBQ shrimp appetizer. It's all-world.

    ReplyDelete
  104. BigCat, I would suggest everyone from the IRS to the NCAA keep an eye on this minister and his collection plate. I think I would steer clear from this situation, whoever gets Brown probably gains a "commitment" from the minister as well. Maybe I'm just cynical though.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Mac ...

I've been to the one in Disney at the Swan or Dolphin. It was pretty good. It allowed me to say all sorts of obnoxious things as it was the spring after his son's ouster.

If you are in city with a Ruth's Chris or Palm, I'd do that instead.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Whats up yall? i have been a lurker for quite a while and just took the time to figure out how to post stuff on here.

ill start by asking what is probably a dumb question and that is....are we getting close to having too many commits?

    ReplyDelete
  107. I'm hitting the one in Bham tonight. My buddy claims it's better than Ruth's C. Hopefully Mike will be my waiter.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Jet, goin to disagree here...Palm is very good also but Ruth's Chris is vastly overrated IMO. I think Shula's is much better. I didn't go to the one in Disney, I visited the one at the Wynfrey hotel in Birmingham.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Depressed, I have heard that Heavens will almost certainly NOT qualify. But like everything else at this point, it's all speculation. People said that Chiz was not high on Ladarius Perkins but as soon as he decommits, we have coachs flying to his home. Who really knows?

    ReplyDelete
  110. I thought Ruth's Chris wasn't all that the couple of times I've been. I do like the sizzling plate of butter though.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Nugget, welcome to the madness!

You can never have too many recruits!

    ReplyDelete
  112. I'm sure there will be a few NQ's that will help with the numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Mac
Obviously you have never had the seared tuna with ginger and spicy kilbosi sauce on the side!

It is to die for! and the steaks are on like a chicken bone!

    ReplyDelete
  114. That tuna dish does sound good, but I have a don't order fish at a steakhouse rule.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I consider Palm the gold standard of the "chain" premium steak houses. My Shula experience was fine in Disney ... my Ruth's Chris experiences (Bham, Mobile, Baton Rouge) have all been solid.

Now for a non-chain, Bern's in Tampa is incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Aubie... hope you don't mind... I added a lil color to your Kicker on a Stick... (it looks very amateurish when I mess with it though...)

So, Shula's in B'ham is good? I've never been. Maybe I should check it out sometime.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I probably ought to give Shula's in Bham a run ... the Shulas have given so much to us ... it only seems right to give back a little.

    ReplyDelete
  118. My favorite was Manny's in Minneapolis. That place was perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Charley's in Orlando is the best steak I have ever had at a restaurant.

    ReplyDelete
  120. St. Elmo's in Indy is another

    ReplyDelete
  121. Thanks.

yeah i figured there would be a few NQ's and i guess the bull and McCalebb will count to last year's class, correct?

    ReplyDelete
  122. D Miller ... that's a good one, too.

I love Ye Olde in Knoxville as well.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Hotties this is off bases,
But this will crack you up...

Demilition of hte Birmingham International Speedway... notice the wrecking ball is not making a dent in the structure...

    "Demolition of the BHR"

    ReplyDelete
  124. Nugget

    You are correct

    ReplyDelete
  125. I have a confession. I don't get the kicker on a stick thing.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Mac,
    It's an appetizer....

    Same as mine Jet...

But my all time favorite is "Morton's" anywhere.... been to Mephis, San Deigo and Chicago Morton's..... DDDDDDDDDDDDDDelicious!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  127. sullivan's in tucson=best restaraunt steak i've ever had. very pricey, though

    ReplyDelete
  128. I love Shula's, I've been to the one in Tampa.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Morton's is really good. It's a much better chain than Ruth's Chris.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Gatiger is in the house now. No really, I mean my home. Not my home away from home working for the man.

So, steaks huh? If you're ever in the north Atlanta area, you'll not be disappointed with Cabernet in Alpharetta. I promise. Book it. Plenty of the pro stars live in this area and if it's good enough for them (and it is quite frequently) then it's good enough for gatiger (and it is a few times a year).

On a separate note, big ups to Scottie-B, I just opened up my HABOTN shirt from the mail this afternoon. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I'm off to start my pre-steak drinking ritual...later

    ReplyDelete
  132. Mon,
Remember we were all up in arms about the Durst winning incident cuz he didn't get a scholly....well we said perhaps we should just make him a "Kicker on a Stick" and stand him up outside at the entrance into JHS like "Vlad the Impaler"

    ReplyDelete
  133. kicker on a stick--purely an intimidation tactic. if we'll do that to one of our players, guess what the opposition has forward to look. (that didn't sound grammatically correct, and probably isn't, but i didn't want to end a sentence with "to")

    ReplyDelete
  134. Monica ...

I usually don't brag ... OK, I do. But I will take the blame for this. I suggested to improve our kicking that the first kicker who misses one in pregame warmups be impaled on a stick and slammed down in front of the opposing bench to show how psychotically wonderful we are.

J-Z ran with it, promising a logo.

    Epic fail.

    He shall pay.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Here, Here....
    scottieb... Jet is the Man!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Thanks for the kicker on a stick explanation. Felt better when Monica said she didn't get it either. That's what I get for skipping out on my HABOTN required reading.

    ReplyDelete
  137. It has also been nominated as the official mascot of the HABOTN... I believe it is scheduled to be included on the back of the HABOTN t-shirt 2.0

    ReplyDelete
  138. I am but a man ... not the man.

Karlos Dansby ... now, that was a man. Hopefully he will be Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  139. j-z ain't nuthin but a big ole logo tease.

    ReplyDelete
  140. the KOS (kicker on a stick) could replace the polo guy on the front pocket area

    ReplyDelete
  141. I just hope that r. hood does as well as dansby. though probably the safety's fault, he let a couple get by him.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Jet,
Also Coach Gundy of Okie State is "A Man....he's 40"!!!

    ReplyDelete
  143. The kicker-on-a-stick convo was great. I am sorry so many of you missed out on it.

Someone needs to make a HABOTN wikipedia page documenting the various themes. Kristina, you do it.

    ReplyDelete
  144. til you've been on the stick, you don't know if you can take it!

    ReplyDelete
  145. scottieb,

I saw we wait for the first game of the season....see who is the "Hardest Hitter" on D then officially nominate him as "Vlad the Impaler/ KOS enforcer"

    Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  146. Scott, the best steak I have ever had was at a restaurant in Tucson that use to be a stagecoach stop. I can't remember the name. It's been so long ago. They cooked the steaks outside on an open fire. The place was packed, but well worth the wait.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Steak is really good microwaved.

    ReplyDelete
  148. kicker on a stick logo for HABOTN is no weirder than the sheep in a bow logo for brooks brothers

    ReplyDelete
  149. is that what that is? i always thought it was a buffalo.

    ReplyDelete
  150. and none of it is any weirder than the concept of puppets. I mean do you ever stop and think about that? Who the heck thought of puppets anyway?

    ReplyDelete
  151. it could be. I don't know, I'm going sheep

    ReplyDelete
  152. i think child molesters invented puppets

    ReplyDelete
  153. This conversation keep jumping between kicker on a stick and steak. Probably means something, just not clever enough to figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  154. chicken on a stick at ole miss is pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Don't worry Tracy.... if it meant something, it would probably be a first for a random HABOTN convo..

    ReplyDelete
  156. It all means something, but you have to wait for Season 7 of HABOTN to find out what. And unfortunately, the answers will raise just as many questions as there were before.

  157. Nugget and Tracy ...

once Michael arrives we move from the utterly ridiculous to the possibly Canadian.

  158. kathy, we haven't had stage coaches out here in a while. was it li'l abner's or daisy mae's? they are situated as one might expect a stagecoach stop to be. there is also pinnacle peak's--pretty good, but slipping.

  159. Very good Jet.

well, im going to move on from my work to starting my weekend. ill check back withyou catz later.

    peace

  160. I'm heading out for dinner. Really afraid I'm gonna impale my burger on a stick....

Have a great weekend fellow HABOTNer's.

    ReplyDelete
  161. indeed... but you must admit it is more enjoyable than my football views. People don't like me as much when I start to make sense. I am more Hoopie than Jet in the football department, but more Jet than Hoopie in the humor department.

Anyway, yeah, puppets man. Where are their feet?

    ReplyDelete
  162. in season 8, we move the habotn.

  163. i want the grass fed, beer fed, massaged cow steak

  164. It is a sheep in a ribbon... I looked it up, I too always thought it was a buffalo

    ReplyDelete
  165. You heard it hear folks ...

    Michael ... the self-proclaimed Jethoopie.

Wasn't that a song on Family Guy?

    ReplyDelete
  166. you ever tried talking to a puppet? they just look at you like you're stupid and you get so mad at that puppet and end up biting it

    ReplyDelete
  167. The Golden Fleece of Brooks Brothers ... nice shirts. Very nice.

    ReplyDelete
  168. thank you for splainin that to me, Jet

    ReplyDelete
  169. nah, it was shaboopie...it was a take off from a song in The Music Man.

    ReplyDelete
  170. i had a traumatic experience with a puppet, once. nearly got impaled on a pinocchio puppet. made a man out of me.

  171. AUnugget: Too many commitments?

    Surely you jest!

    ReplyDelete
  172. No Jay G, i just don't want Auburn to end up getting some of these surprise commits in the next few days and then having to tell some of the lower rated guys "oops, we don't have room for you after all"

im sure that happens other places but i like Auburn to stick to their word, even if other don't.

  173. Yeah ... that's my favorite episode ... the one with Stewie trying to collect the money from Brian ... classic.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Harrison, I have had that problem with puppets also. the secret is to bite them high enough so that you don't bite your own finger in the process. That way you teach them a lesson without going to the emergency room.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I wish you had told me that before i got the nickname 3 fingers

    ReplyDelete
  176. The puppet incident explains what happened to one hand. How did you lose fingers on the other?

    ReplyDelete
  177. i have 2 cats with a thirst for human flesh. I think my wife trained them. I have to sleep in cat proof clothing

    ReplyDelete
  178. I think puppets are cat proof, if you wanted to protect your hands that way. But then you would have to be careful about biting yourself again. Man, I guess there is no easy answer.

You know, I like to think one of my roles at HABOTN is to scare people away from posting at the end of the work day. It seems like I usually spend a few minutes here before going home, and I clear the place out. I mean, how can people even respond to this puppet nonsense (other than a kindred spirit such as Harrison)? I think I do my job well.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Silly Harrison.... there is no such thing as cat-proof clothing...
You're probably safer swimming with sharks while wearing a gutted grouper suit

    ReplyDelete
  180. finally someone understands me.

most people leave work at 5 and it slows down, but i work until 8, so i can post. That or everybody hates us

    ReplyDelete
  181. Is Johnnie Farms really visiting this weekend?

    ReplyDelete
  182. Well sorry Harrison, but you are on your own again. I have to go. See how long you can keep talking about puppets without me.

And Kathy, Johnnie farms is a statement, not a person. You are silly.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Kathy, Brian Matthews said on Sportscall that Farms was visiting, and he felt AU had a good chance to land him. Also said Gerald West may be visiting, but it was not confirmed.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Michael, I think you started your weekend early!

    ReplyDelete
  185. Glad to hear so many visiting this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Landing Aubrey Philips and Johnnie Farms this weekend would be HUGE!
