Ted Roof speaks
We'll be starting momentarily.
- "I'm excited about the opportunity Coach Chizik has afforded me."
- Which position will you coach?: "(Chizik) has not made a decision about that."
- Philosophy: "You've still got to stop the run to win football games. What you got to do is try to get people off kilter with going after folks and being aggressive and try to make teams one-dimensional so you can get creative on defense. It's not the schemes that win and lose for you; it's the players that you recruit and that you develop. At the same time, you're only going to be as good as your base defense and your fundamentals allow you to be. Because when you get in that thunderstorm, you've got to have a place you call home. Your base defense and playing fundamental football, just throwing blocks and getting off blocks and tackling and pursuit angles, all the things that seem so elementary to some people but are really the differences between winning and losing."
- Any coaches in particular shape your ideas?: ``I've been around a lot of good football coaches. I've learned from everybody I've been around. To say it's one person, that would not be accurate. It's a culmination of being around a bunch of people."
- "It was huge for our defense that Antonio Coleman is coming back. He has a national reputation."
- "I don't know Paul (Rhoads)."
- Timetable of hire: Chizik called Minnesota coach Tim Brewster for permission to speak. Flew into Atlanta on Sunday. Drove to Auburn on Monday. Finalized it then."
- Minnesota improvements: "We knew we had to do a good job with creating takeaways. We did that. I saw a lot of good things happening."
- Recruiting: "I'm detailed and thorough. It's built on relationships. In the end, the relationships get you over the hump. I love it -- and I love having a great product to sell like Auburn University."
- What do you remember about Auburn?: "I made this comment to Coach Dye, when you got done playing Auburn it felt like somebody had taken a rubber hose and just beat you with. Back when they ran the bone and kept pounding you. As a football player you always respect the physical teams, the teams that hit you in the mouth."
(Roof played at Georgia Tech from 82-85.) - He doesn't know the other Auburn coaches.
- Other defensive coaches: "Coach Chizik is the head coach and those will be his decisions."
- He'll start work on Thursday.
- "Coach Chizik is the head coach and he has the right to involve himself and be involved in every aspect of the program, which most head coaches do and I'm sure he will as well. I look at it as a real plus to have a guy with a defensive background that Gene has and all his expertise that he brings to his staff and to the table."

THT, Damages is a like a good John Grisham novel mixed with some good old fashioned killing.
"how gauche" with a raised eyebrow has always been one mother's favorites...she says it with a royal "we are not amused" look on her face...
good ol fashion killing sounds promising. i've heard of Grisham, but I can't read.
I'm not sure about the difference, but I know girth is important.
Mrs Scottie and I wouldn't make good TV buddies.
i'm refuse to be baited into innuendo
And now Monica is talking pipe girth. Is it a full moon tonight?
there are actually few people who die but they show them alot.
nice quote by momma monnie.
about 60%
I'm getting really close to cheering for OK due to the obnoxiousocity of my nephews Facebooks status updates. For instance, " the quickest way to a man's heart is with Tim Tebow's forearm"
Tarheel, if you can't read how do you know what's going on in the blog?
the moon ~60% full
I know it was a cheap tactic, but nothing wakes the gang up like a little innuendo.
sorry THT, anyone who spends Christmas in Prague can read. just sayin'.
Innuendo ... how gauche.
my dachschund reads it to me, or before she falls asleep she walks on my keyboard and then the computer reads it to me
ha i know, mr tommy
my mother would SO not approve i can assure you...
Mr. Scottie and Mrs. Scottie rarely make good tv buddies. :(
i'm guessing it's been at least 10 years since I read a "literature" book, as opposed to fun reading like reference books
JGT, Is the homework all done?
spigot! yes!
love the pic Phred
I know it's spelled spigot, but Brewtonbonics is "spicket". ha
MsFrontRim ... sorry for the delay. SNOWED UNDER. I'll be in touch tomorrow.
I tried to do that disapproving mother look too when I wrote the note, I'm not sur eif it came across though.
JayZr - you need to start pimpin' out that dachshund to Animal Planet or something like that. She'd be a superstar
It's one of the words I learned how to spell in architecture school. That and wainscot.
It's crazy windy here and snowing off and on. Cincy is it snowing over there? We always get what y'all get.
No problem Phred...
I learned how to spell wainscot when I wanted it in my dining room.
Homework has been handled, but there is no BCS CG game at the end of the rainbow as believed.
Seriously, I rarely know what day of the week it is. I have to ask all the time ...
13 minutes
SO time for some of watigers thoughts of the going ons on the plains.
-Malzahn- Like it. Don't love it. If I am not mistaken he was in charge of the passing game a Tulsa not the running game. He was a high school coach two years ago. Just hesitant really. Not to mention the weather conditions mandated that Tulsa run the ball against Ball St.. However I think the spread can work so we will see. CGC has made some real competent hires so far I am impressed..
-Taylor-Surprise! I am not going to pretend that I knew who Taylor was but now that I do I am very impressed. I think it made up for not getting Garner. So just on his rep I love it.
-Roof-After read Jays thread I'll take it. Counting on CGC to run to D anyway.
-HABOTN-STILL THE HOTTEST....
Do not feel bad, I do not know what day it is unless I am at working charting
Miss THT would spell it spicket. We call her v2.0 because she's so much like Mrs THT. Surprisingly, Mrs THT actually can spell spigot.
Spelling aside, they are much smarter than me. They read lots and lots of books.
Actually, two years ago he was the OC at Arky
ok, it's halftime; i'll go find FX
ok three years ago..he's been at tulsa two years?
Geezy ... it's Wednesday.
I was just sitting here remembering when it was a BIG deal to hit 50 or 60 comments. Wow. The times they are a changin'.
I bet the dachshund knows its spelled spigot
Yeah Phred, the idea of cumbersome amounts of comments is quickly changing as the HABOTN community grows.
we need Denny to chime in with the origin of the word. He's like the "Tim the Neighbor" of the blog.
Time to hunker down for Damages.
gotta run to finish up job #2. nite nite hotties and a fantastic Damages premiere to our girl Mon. :)
Have fun Mon, Tell Greg Hello
We'll compare notes tomorrow, Scottie. ;-)
Thank you, Mrs. and hey to Mr.!
Mr and I are out, we have some tv catching up to do, night all. JGT- I want to see pics...
found it; channel 71 next to bravo and hallmark. No wonder I didn't know where it was.
TVMALV
Wartiger, I'm with you. I am cautiously optimistic. Whatever happens, it would HAVE to be better than this year.
I hope for a little excitement on the sidelines ...
No gauche innuendo intended.
I wish I could get all the Mustain craziness out of my head. Maybe I just don't like Arkansas.
I know I despise their current coach.
looks pseudo soap-ish
i don't care for Danson or that actress whoever she is
Mon & Scottie B- if I'm having trouble sleeping I know what to do now.
Mr. Petrino lacks quite a bit in my book too. Good coach or not, he's not a good person. Arkansas will learn this when he takes over the job at another school in the middle of the season.
AUMom- I should have learned my lesson after my irrational exuberance last year about this time. But I just can't help it. I'm excited.
I rarely pull for the Falcons but did this year and was quite pleased when they made the playoffs.
I hope the news traveled all the way to Arkansas.
Only 80 days until A Day.
I am a little excited myself.
AUMom- I am/was a frustrated Falcons fan and after the crap he pulled last year, I was cheering everyone on in hopes to beat the hogs. Partially in hopes that he would get p.o.'d again and quit there too
I'm with you on pulling against the Hogs.
I lived in Louisville for 8 years (albeit nearly 20 years ago) and liked UofL. Since 2003, however, I have found myself rooting for Rutgers to keep the Cardinals from winning.
I wonder if A-Day will be moved back to later in the spring to give the new coaching staff more time to get situated.
Talking with the wife tonight about going to the A-Day game, and wondered if Coach Chiz was going to have a real game this year.
Is there a standard for an A Day game? I have never been.
Oh Nooooo AUMom just doomed us with the "Whatever happens, it would HAVE to be better than this year" comment.
You know, that's what I said after Cox graduated and we got CTF. Is there a witch doctor in the house?
I just saw where Pac Man Jones has been released by Dallas. I cannot remember a bigger waste of opportunity.
I havent been in 30 years. Back then it was like a regular game. Tubs changed it. Don't know how Chiz will do it.
Thanks, BigCat. Next time, I'll remember to keep it to myself.
Yeah Tubs was doing something different for A-Day from what I recall. But it wasn't like a regular scrimmage/football game. Not sure how to explain it other than it was different ... I think. Then again I may be on drugs AUMom.
I have to tell you, Spring scrimmages were so much more entertaining than A-Day. They would start early in the mornings and I would go before work. I wonder how much access to practices will Chiz give the public?
good night all.
good night all.
Someone mentioned a-day, has a date been set. I hate to copy bammers but we need a good turn out. I hope they don't make the mistake of scheduling it when baseball team is out of town.
Tubs had set A-Day for March 28.
Don't know if CGC will keep that date or move it back to give the new coaching staff more time to "gel" before starting practices.
All I can say is WOW, the Nations Top Prsopect WR/QB Randle is visiting the plains this weekend. That is a splash for you!!
I have a feeling the nation's Top RB Bryce Brown won't be far behind him. Great Job Coach Luper and Taylor!
Man the hits just keep on coming, just read on an OK State board that the #2 Rated Dual QB out of Texas is also paying us an official visit, QB Tyrik Rollison (Stud in the Army All American Game) and he sounds excited. Thank you Coach Malzahn!!!
I just watched the Bryce Brown video. Wow! I have never seen another running back like that in my life. Well, yes I have ... once. It was almost 30 years ago now.
Word is that these three will be visiting. Rueben Randle is the number one player in the nation......WR from Louisiana
Bryce Brown is the number two player in the nation........RB from Kansas Tyrik Rollison is the number 58 player in the nation......#2 dual threat QB from Texas. Regardless if we get them having them for an offical visit speaks highly of our staff.
Good morning, Hotties! I was glancing over the previous posts and "sidewalk fan" was mentioned a couple of times. What do you consider a sidewalk fan?
when are they visiting?
Agreed McLovin. I'm shocked that they have been able to get them in for an official visit. Everyone seemed to believe that their was zero chance with Randle. That is great news. Recruiting may just be exciting again.
To quote my best friend, "I'm liking this staff more and more." I'm tired of hearing the so-called "experts" say that Auburn has no chance of suceeding.
Morning Everybody! So I was just looking at the list of recruits that are making official visits to Auburn. If in fact they like what's happening there, cause I know they'll love the school, and decide to go to Auburn, do you think that sways the opinion of some of these kids that decided to look elsewhere? And are those kids that decommitted even part of the plan now? Do they fit the Malzahn Chizik/Roof systems? Who would have thought recruiting was going to be this relevant 3 weeks ago.
Randle is coming this weekend with about 7 other vistors, mostly commits.
I hear that QB Tyrik Rollison has potential grade issues and that's why his offer list isnt what you'd expect from a player ranked that high. He had Ok St High on his interest list and they have not even offered him yet.
OK ... it seems the program now is recruiting players with alliterative names -- Rueben Randle, Bryce Brown.
I like a plan.
BTW ...
Kudos to Scottie B in Tennessee ... the official HABOTN shirt arrived at the Hangar yesterday.
Was going to wear it to the gym this morning ... except for one small problem.
I didn't go.
Does that mean Billy Batson, Clark Kent, and Peter Parker are on their way too?
I am shocked/stoked that these guys are coming in a for a visit. Tubs regime never would have even called those players, much less gone after them aggressively. Luper is quickly becoming a favorite!
Regardless of whether he can get in school, a commit from a player/QB rated as high as Rollison will make other top rated commits think and will entice skill players. Even if he turns out to be a sign and place, that is a risk that should be taken for exposure purposes. And heck, if he does get in? GReat!
So where does the official visitor list stand now?
They made Roof drive to AU??? BUMMER.
According to Scout.com our visitor list is:
WR 2 Rueben Randle
(Bastrop HS)
Bastrop, LA 6-3/195/4.50 1/9/2009
DT 19 Terrence Coleman

Amazing recruiting news about Brown and Randle. Bryce Brown's older brother (LB) is already at Miami, where he has given a verbal. Tough to overcome those family ties.
glad you got it Jet. if it makes you feel better i didn't make it to the gym this morning either. of course, i never go early. :(
THT, sorry Damages wasn't quite your style. however, it was a fantastic premiere.
Good morning hotties,
Jet- alliterative ais an awfully awesome adjective at asuch an aearly am ahour.
Two plus pages in the AJC on MS and NM going pro. It's especially weird since one rarely sees UGA gear on the streets after the GT debacle.
ps. Careful with the PacMan comments. He may hire someone to shoot at you.
We Believe in AU.
Hi haters, we see you ;)
I hate that the Cowgirls cut Pacman, I was looking forward to the franchise taking the same turn that Oakland did when they started taking everyone's trash in a effort to win.
Hail Redskins!
Morning HOTTIES!!!
Our Coaching Staff are going after the BIG Boyz.... Damn you Satan...
We will recruit against you and we will succeed....
What's going on, HOTTIES?
I just had a dream that Oklahoma won the BCS CG ...
What was the score, Jay G?
Mobile, is it not a bit redundant to "damn Satan" considering he is already leader of the damned? Just saying...
I don't remember the score.
I moved on to my next dream, which involved me fleeing an angry, enemy lifeform. I ended up in the vault of a bank ... where my infrared emissions were blocked. The bad guys couldn't see me in there.
Then I woke up.
(Credit: No Country For Old Men)
I saw something mildly interesting yesterday ... the coaches apparently have sorted out who will have which office ... with "tba" stickers above the remaining offices.
I didn't pay enough attention to see which offices went to the guys who aren't yet hired. Dumb move on my part.
Multiple dreams in one night.
Very interesting.
Where's Monica when we need interpretation?
The closer the game gets, the more and more I think Oklahoma is going to win it. The ramifications will be huge for Oklahoma if they do not win this game, in my opinion, and I think Bob Stoops knows this.
Wonder if they'll get new furniture considering all the cuts the university is imposing on such purchases at this time.
It occurred to me this morning that Chizik's hiring choices indicate something. Notice that he isn't pulling a lot of coaches from his Iowa State staff. That says to me that he didn't have the bucks to hire who he wanted at Iowa State, so that is further evidence of the reason for his record as a head coach. If you can't get the assistants you want, an overwhelming change isn't going to happen.
wow I'm pumped about this recruiting it's evident tubbs never even made runs at the top dogs unless they were In his pipelines
Eddie, you think OK would make a move on Stoops if they lose this one?
bryce brown video amazing; he makes trent richardson look like a 1*
too bad I wasted my time looking at it. i'll eat a shoe if he ends up at AU
Recruiting big names is pretty cool. However, since I am a recruiting expert (NCCAA 2001 Dynasty Mode), I hope that we don't spend all of our time recruiting long shots. It will make us all feel good now but when they choose to go elsewhere and we don't have any backup plans, yikes!
But I like the strategy. It is ballsy. After all, if Ron Zook can get em to come to Illinois, anything is possible.
I'll eat a dreadlock if he ends up at au
I lied I wouldn't
michael, good point...
ISU stated that Chizik's asst coaching staff was 3rd highest paid in the conference. Now, Big12 salary standards are probably lower than SEC standards. I think it is more likely that no one wanted to go to Ames, Iowa to coach for a poor program.
At AU, he has a solid program, a better product to sell to prospects and prospective coaches. It would be easier to recruit top coaches and players to AU than to Ames. IMO.
J-G, given the obscure oddity of your 2nd dream, I probably wouldn't put much stock in the dream about OU winning tonight.
It's rare that I have a dream that comes true.
I haven't even met Jenna Fischer yet ...
Key word there, Jay G
damages was great. also watched "cyrano" with kevin kline and jennifer garner. very good, as well.
Sensi,
I figure if i "Double Damn" him it works twice as good!!!
I have never heard of Damages before. What's so special bout it?
Jay G.,
I think you need to invest in a "Dream Catcher" so next time you can "catch n release" like fish!
I'm so excited to see more of y'all getting excited about recruiting!
herkie jump + cheer fingers!
(sorry, i've been watching Bring it! this morning)
Looks like OSU is not going to send Auburn any Christmas Cards next year. There is smoke around Spencer the DL coach coming to Auburn to the theme song of "Reunited and it feels so good". He and Roof are both Tech boys and have a history together. I guess Pat Dye has not been able to get in on the hiring meetings after all.
Scottie! Damages was wicked good. Love the new plots.
Michael:
The series follows the turbulent lives of Patty Hewes (Glenn Close), the nation's most revered and reviled high-stakes litigator and her bright, ambitious young protégé Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne).
After her unprecedented victory over billionaire Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson), Patty Hewes has the legal world at her feet. Just as she's pondering her next move, Daniel Purcell (William Hurt), a man from Patty's mysterious past, storms back into her life, catapulting Patty into a new legal challenge. What starts as a domestic murder case, escalates into the highest reaches of government as Patty unearths a vast conspiracy.
At the same time, Ellen is on a mission to take down Patty. She's agreed to act as an informant for the FBI, assisting them in their criminal investigation of Patty and the firm. As Patty unravels the mystery surrounding Daniel Purcell, she must also negotiate the perilous minefield both inside and outside her office.

ooooo, how saucy!
HA Saucy, indeed!
I cannot freakin believe Luper got Randle to change his visit to Auburn!!!!!!
Just took a look at some Bryce Brown highlights on the youtube. lets say he were to come to AU, would we then find a fullback for some lead blocking? Just wondering
Mon,
We got it going on:
"Randle & Rollison Vist?"
Mon I share your excitement for recruiting, I'm pumped. I only wish I shared your infinite knowledge.
Recruiting is only half the puzzle.
Got to gameplan as well.
Sensi,
Did you see the GMAC Bowl?
the Professor has a Gameplan!
I did see that. It was a very good gameplan against that team.
I'm remembering back to when we had Muschamp vs. Malzhan. Muschamp, who traditionally gets run on, shut down the plan.
Hopefully, AU can recruit a few top-tier athletes to move the plan forward.
Dear Sensi aka Debbie Downer: DUH!
I'm going to be excited one step at a time. It's just more fun to live that way. SNAP!
Will - You can have my knowledge for $99 a year! HA
Sensi,
I agree... but you got to get them on campus then coach'em up....
I like getting the jimmy's and joes then we work out the x's and o's!
Ralph Spry Jr from MINN to transfer to auburn
Muschamp vs Malzahn was a bloodbath in Malzahn's favor (although who knows how much Malzahn had to do with that offense)
Muschamp stopped it the next year after Malzahn left.
If history is the measurement, then gameplan should be squared away. I saw first hand the other night how CGM executed an offensive gameplan and it was nothing nice for Ball State. He has always shown creativity. I still talk about the hide the little guy play he ran against us in 2005. Defense should be solid as well. We just need some more studs.
Is that a good thing jhag? I don't know MN football.
Mon,
for some reason i just pictured you with your hand on your hip snapping your finger and moving your head like a snake when you made that statement to Sensi!
Oh Snap!
you know i had my neck work going...
he went to auburn high school, not a highly regaurded recruit but he started just abotu every game for MINN this year, maybe he can catch the ball im not sure
Mon,
I'm not a downer, just a realist.
Whatever! I am excited to see the coaching staff at least try to get some exciting/hyped athletes as opposed to the Tubs way*.
*Tubs way=give up on the elite and hope for the best with what you get after 2004. And beat Bama often and live off that.
Hotties,
If you don't think recruiting is picking up check this out:
"Georgia LB considering Auburn"
Ok Sensi,
All of us are realist.... we can't win if we don't get the guys on campus...
We know we have to coach them up.... I feel this Staff can do that so I'm leaning on the Glass Half Full not Half Empty...
We have time enough in the fall to be critical, but right now let's be positive about the posibilities...
We can only go forward from the 2008 debacle!
I had a good dream, involving being chased by men with guns, but I can't remember the details. It was exciting. Car chases, gunfire, explosions, dapper suits...it had everthing.
We can only go forward???
Oh Nooooooooooooooooooo please don't jinx us
This got lost in the shuffle this morning, so I'm reposting. I know I'll get an honest answer from Monica:
Good morning, Hotties! I was glancing over the previous posts and "sidewalk fan" was mentioned a couple of times. What do you consider a sidewalk fan?
miztertommyd, I think we will find some fullbacks regardless. One of them may end up being named Ben Tate.
As far as the staff goes, are they not all proven teachers at their particular disciplines? Time will tell on how good a head coach Chizik is, but he IS a proven DC, Malzahn a proven OC, and the position coaches decidedly all know their gig.
The question may be how quick can the team that's going through its 3rd change (or is it 4th change) in as many years can pick up on what the staff wants them to do.
PF,
Ahhhh that would be the New James Bond Movie!!!! Sorry it was not a dream!
I want to see how this staff gets along after a drunken spring break in Mexico. Only then will I be convinced of Auburn's future.
my favorite dream is the one where I can fly... more like hang glide but without the hang glider... it's pretty cool. And no, I would never try hang gliding.
sidewalk fan = fan who didn't actually attend or graduate from the school? I'm guessing here. Can anyone help Luv out?
LuvAU1968,
I think the "sidewalk fan" is a term the kinda mimics a person that stands on the side and cheers with others only when times are good and criticizes with others when things they are bad, but never gets in the game with an original thought for themselves....
If anyone has a better opinion please give it up!
Mr. S- From earlier. I do not see Stoops career in any sort of jeapordy, but I do see Oklahoma being on the short side between 3 equal teams at the end. If it wasn't for the Big 12 being over-rated right now, USC would be in that game in my opinion.
so Mon, the big question is, who did Ellen shoot twice at the end of the show????
From what I've heard/read sidewalk fans are those fans that didn't attend the school.
I wouldn't get all excited about the stars of the players being recruited. We had top 10 classes in 2006 and 2007, but how good they turn out to be is TBD.
I am more interested in seeing what the Chiz can do with our current talent. I hope that we don't see a lot of new recruits play this next season. I view recruits as at least a season away from making a meaningful contribution.
What I am most interested in is what happens with the quarterbacks and receivers during the spring.
AUinMobilz, thanks! So, who here is in agreement with AUnMobilz and who is in agreement with TarHeel?
i agree with MizterTommyD
I agree w/ Zteve
TarHeel and mrtommyd, so if that's your definition, how do you feel about sidewalk fans?
As for the sidewalk fan thing, it doesn't really matter to me how you define it. I did not graduate from Auburn, although I have do go to Auburn games. I have been a fan longer than some of you have been alive. I follow Auburn more closely than most people, including those that graduated from Auburn. To me, sidewalk fan is pretty much meaningless. I wouldn't consider it the same as being a fair weather fan. I also have heard it defined as someone who hasn't played football.
Sidewalk fans is a description typically given to fans who have no ties to the school they cheer for (I.e. they did not attend the school and don't have other ties such as family who attended). AUnMoblz description is also part of the sidewalk faction.
Most bammers are sidewalk fans, many of them have never even set foot on the campus.
In the spirit of full disclosure, some might consider me a sidewalk fan, as I did not attend AU. I got more money to go to Mercer. But, my uncle went to AU, my wife is in grad school there now, and my sister starts AU in the fall. I've also been coming to AU for games since I was a child.
Does anyone have the address/phone number for the HABOTN Rehab Ctr or Halfway House?
I'm not getting anything done today.
BTW is CGM coaching the QB's?
I love 'em!!! As long as they are AU sidewalk fans.
I agree with mrtommyd also,
just that what i said was what "sidewalk fans" do all the time was my description....
I guess that makes me one cuz i went to Tuskegee.
But I do love me some AU!!
I love Auburn fans period. Unless they puke on me, then I don't like them so much.
OK let's just get all the wrapped up in a nice little bow and settle it!!!
We are all H.A.B.O.T.N. Fans....PERIOD!!!
The bottom line is that sidewalk fan is not derogatory and pretty much meaningless. Just because someone decides to assign a label to you doesn't change who you are. I have a problem with fair weather fans, but not sidewalk fans.
I didn't like the fans that used to smoke on the concourse/sidewalk right behind our seats. I really really hate smoke, unless it's coming from open pit bbq
Sensi - Perception is reality and what you perceive is subjective. So don't call yourself a realist as if it's some final stamp of truth and someone like me who choses to be excited is out of touch with reality.
Luv - Sidewalk fan - I think some people call anyone who isn't an alum a sidewalk fan. I don't like the term. I used it the other day because some bamer said "give us a product we can support and we will". He was saying if the team is no good we won't support. I support the team even when we suck.
Scottie - I don't know! I love how dark Ellen has become. Thinking it's Patty is too obvious, right? Maybe it's Frobisher?
That settles it. I'm going to get me some NC BBQ for lunch.
Unless of course you're an Alabama sidewalk fan. Then it's definitely derogatory. Florida sidewalk fans, too. I'll put UGA sidewalkers in there too.
Is there such a thing as a Vandy sidewalk fan?
Monay,
Two Snaps Up!!!!!
I would argue that anyone that would get any Auburn game on pay per view regardless of the opponent or the teams record is not a sidewalk fan. He may be a nut, but he ain't no sidewalk fan.
Mon & Scottie B - If I had been playing the part of Ellen, I would have shot the entire cast :-D
Tarheel - that's just not fair. NC bbq for lunch, that's almost mean to announce.
miztertommyd,
Hell don't forget the LUwho fans ie the Corn dogs! Oh Gawd you talk about Fair Weather!!!!
oops....
LSWho Sidewalk Fans!
Of course, if you spend more money on pay per view than you do on your home, that makes you a Tide fan.
miztertommyd -
I realized the gaucheness of my post immediately after sending it. My sincerest apology.
ZteveFC- that's TOO funny. It's amusing how the truth can be so funny.
hummmmm tommyd,
I must use gauche somehow someway today in conversation....
You were definitely able to work that puppy in right there!!!
I likey!
gaucheness - touche'
just think - we used to have a no recruiting outside of 300 mile radius rule...
now i'm getting on the traedmill so don't say anything good till i get back
They're rioting in Oakland.
ok everybody....
Hold all post till Monnie gets off Treadmill....
Jay G. shut it down for about an Hour....Mon the Tiger Insider has requested we hold the good shiggdy till she gets back, can we accommodate her wishes?
miztertommyd:
NCBBQ
THT,
Holy Smoked Pig, Batman!!!
The only distinctions I've ever made concerning fans is that fans (short for fanatics) tend to be for or against based on success. Supporters tend to support the team(s), athletic department, Universtiy regardless and they tend to be Alums. I'd say that I'm both.
Don't you find that fans that haven't attended or are alums are the ones with the most gear? What they didn't spend in tuition is in their den or their RV.
(OK Michael no athletic supporter comments)
Well Tarheel, I guess my lunch plans are changing now. thanks.
If you can't be an athlete......
I've made it a point lately when traveling to ask the hoards of sudden UA fans...where they've been for past 10 years!
Believe it or not, apparently fans isn't short for fanatic. I read somewhere a while back that it is short for some soccer term or something.
So this down time without any kind of info or updates from Jay G. makes for some interesting conversation.
What's that tommyd? hire them? lmao
400?
I heard the same thing Zteve, was trying to look it up but could not find it.
Big Mike, how often do you get the response, "Hell, I ain't never left, I've always been a Tahd fan. My diddy was a Tahd fan and so was his diddy 'fore him. Got 12? Auburn SUCKS!!!!" That's usually what I get when conversing with the UAT faithful.
