Tracy Rocker speaks

1/12/09, LATE AFTERNOONHey everyone. I'm live blogging Tracy Rocker's introductory teleconference.

  • "First of all -- War Eagle. I'm glad to be back."

  • Leaving Ole Miss: "Houston provides a family environment. It's a coaching environment. (Leaving that) was hard to do. He's all about the players. I enjoyed working with him. It was a great six years. We had a great run. I've enjoyed. There comes a time when we all have to part ways and move on in this business."

  • He met Chizik while he was at UCF ... when Rocker was an assistant at Troy State.

  • "Coming back is a great honor. Everything you want as a college student -- I definitely enjoyed. A goal of mine is that I want to be known as a great coach. I'm not the player anymore; I'm a coach."

  • What are you coaching?: "I'm expecting to coach the whole front four."

  • "The thing I'm looking forward to most is hard work. It takes all of us to be special."

  • On Ted Roof: "I remember Coach Roof when he played at Tech. I watched him play at Tech when I played at Auburn. He was a great player. In the coaching world, all I've ever heard is that he's a great guy to work for. I'm looking forward to it."

  • Player personnel: "I don't really know much. I've watched them on film. I watched them through the season. It's a clean slate right now. I'm not going to make judgments on anything. I'm there to make sure we get it done, do it right and do it the Auburn way."

  • Recruiting philosophy: "You've got to love playing down there. You have to play hurt. There are going to be bumps and bruises when you play down there. Every college team and every pro football team is looking for great linemen. They're hard to find. I'm open-minded to see which direction we're going."

  8. Whew! Great work Jay GT. I was worried that priorities might have gotten mixed up there for a moment. But you confirm once again that you are THE MAN!!!

    Thanks for the live blogging!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. nice work JG. i mean, writer, blogger, radio personality, soon to be master of the recruting world, Rock Band guru, and soccer cheuffer-extraordinaire......you're like the Ryan Secrest of Auburn media dude. you can do it all!

    I'm multitasking. Lemme correct that.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Onterio McCalebb he is in.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Nothing like knowing my puppy will be in good hands with her doc. He shook my hand and said "war eagle," as soon as he walked in the room.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Cool about Rocker. Needs to shave his head, though.

    ReplyDelete
  16. McCalebb was waiting on one final test. You know how that goes.

Apparently, he did pretty well on that test ...

    ReplyDelete
  17. PF, enjoyed the blog on your new family member. Beasley won't get out of my lap while i'm cruising the HABOTN. :)

glad to know your gal was in good hands.

    ReplyDelete
  18. A-Day moved to April 18 at 1 p.m. for those interested. Not sure if this was posted on HABOTN while I was incarcerated today.

    ReplyDelete
  19. is he known as a good recruiter?

    ReplyDelete
  20. This staff is coming together.

Jay let's organize a HABOTN field trip for the women's bball game against Tennessee on 1/26. We can all wear our shirts and look like a cult. What do ya say?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous5:56 PM

well, you know I'll be there.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Grew Up watching Tracy, he is one of the names I always remember from when I was younger !! Welcome back Mr. Rocker you have been missed !!

    ReplyDelete
  23. post on earlier thread asked status of Bryce Brown

He visited K-State this past weekend. Scout doesn't show it as an official visit, so it may have been on his own dime.

He's a really really REALLY long shot for AU. As I stated earlier, I'll eat a shoe if we sign him.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What? The rest of y'all don't take your laptops to the dinner table?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I sat next to Tracy my freshman year in haley... All I remember is having to sit slanted since his LAT muscles took up 1/2 my seat. he was HUGE!!!

I wonder if he remebers that crazy Korean.. I always told him I would rule the world...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yo gang.

Mrs MichaelJanTerri added another child to the fold today, so HABOTN following will be sparse for me over the next few days. War Eagle and all that.

Also, it's the my first kid with a wiener, and I don't know exactly what to do with that when it gets poop on it. Gross.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Staff is shaping up much, Much MUCH better than I ever dreamed..... Hope we can take it to the field......

  28. Congrats Michael!
I don't remember our son pooping that far forward ;-)

Ok going to focus on 24....c you all l8r.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Congrats Michael!!!!

From what I have read, Rocker isn't particularly known for his recruiting, but I think that is okay. We have a lot of talented recruiters on this staff. If nothing else, he can just say hey, take a look at my trophies:)

    ReplyDelete
  34. congrats, michael jan terri! we need habotn t-shirts in infant sizes, now. #74! cool.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous7:26 PM

    Congrats Michael!

Just beware when changing the diaper. That is all.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Congrats on the weenie, Michael

    ReplyDelete
  37. a.) Congratulations, michael.

b.) I think boys would be easier to clean.

c.) I think I should go on Finebaum one of these days.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jay G.

    1. Agreed.

    2. Boys are much easier to clean.

    3. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    ReplyDelete
  39. JGT on Finebaum. i could dig it. it would be one of the few times i would listen.

congrats Michael. if you had mentioned this was coming earlier i missed it. war eagle and welcome the Little Mr. Michael to the HABOTN family.

  40. Welcome to the Auburn/HABOTN Family Little Miss MichaelJanTerri...

Welcome Back T.Rocker....Its good to have you back on the plains....where all great Tigers belong...
    War Eagle

    ReplyDelete
  41. JGT-
    please never go on Finebaum....It would be like jumping the shark....if the shark where an evil bammer hybrid of a Gremlin and Gollum from Lord of the Rings....{"Saban my precious"}

  42. your blog is feel good......

    ReplyDelete
  43. Congrats MalchealJanTerri!!

The boy will be easier to clean after the...well...I don't think I'll go there on the blog, but anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  44. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Michael!

May dirty diapers be your worst worry.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Congrats on the little pecker Michael.... did you name him Jan Terri?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Congrats Michael! One word of caution, those little pistols are loaded even when you think they just emptied the chamber. So as soon as the diaper is off be on guard. They can fire with remarkable accuracy. You may need to watch the Bush shoe dodging vid to work on your bob and weave technique

    ReplyDelete
  47. BigCat - Loving the avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks Monica...House is the Man

    ReplyDelete
  49. Baseball game scene from Naked Gun ... good times.

Leslie Neilsen ... Canada's second finest import

    ReplyDelete
  50. AuBigCat- YOU are the man. THT Jr loves House. I'll be nice and not say what I think about it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Congrats Michael...the whole boy poopie diaper is easier in some respects. Just be careful at diaper time and bath time to keep your head on a swivel, because that thing will go off without warning. I still haven't really forgiven my youngest for blasting me.

Mr. Jay G. Tate...don't do Finebaum. I think that doing his show would just add credibility to the lowest common denominator in sports journalism.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Keep your mouth closed when changing the diaper... at least until you get good at the bob and weave...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Congrats Micheal....

    I have three girls....

Worst thing was Colic....never got any sleep!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous8:28 PM

Michael and JGT ditto J-Z comments.

The ROCK is back on the PLAINS.

Considering how this whole coaching change started, I must admit that I think Chiz is doing as well as should resonably be expected. If this new staff can fill the remaining recruiting holes, we can limit any rebuilding time.

    ReplyDelete
  55. First of all, BigCat has a great avatar. Second, Tracy Rocker is back.......wow. Can you imagine some player saying he is a little banged up and can't go? Sen Derrick. Its not too late I hope. You will never get a chance like this again...

Michael, Congratulations. And boy poopie diaper is easier than girl poopie diaper. Been there, done that, don't want to ever do it again.

The Overtime tonight was a clinic of defense put on by Louisville. Just letting that out so Jeff Lebo might try to catch it. Additionally, I plan on making a pilmagrige to the Plains to pay homage to the Lady Tiger and their sparkling record. If you are a Auburn fan, you OWE it to them to go support them. I haven't yet, but I am going to. I just enjoy good basketball, male or female.

    ReplyDelete
  56. One simple suggestion Michael. When changing diapers, place a tissue over the nozzle. I have never been sprayed!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Congrats Michael. Hope he is our first commit for what 2027.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Thanks Scottie. We had our first vet visit today (new blogpost up about it at puppywipes.blogspot.com). We love her.

Congrats, Mikal. I hear Tim Tebow makes a good, though unkosher, Moyel.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Denny I'm trying to drum up some support for a HABOTN gathering with the Lady Tigers for 1/26 when they play Tennessee. Can you pencil that date in? You know that game is going to be insane!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Michael ... Congratulations Bro! Big times ahead for you.

BigCat ... I like the field trip idea, but I can't make that one. I'm in for any other one though.

Jay G ... avoid the f-bomb. Stay strong. Don't give in. You'll hate yourself in the morning.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous8:46 PM

Michael - They now have things called Pee Pee Tee Pee's that will block old faithful.

    Wish I thought of that.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I will make a point to be there. I will wear my HABOTN shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  63. We still like one more defensive coach to hire. Guessing it will be a DB coach. If Rocker is coaching whole DL will LB duties be split between Roof and Willis.

    ReplyDelete
  64. lol @ Tebow the Moyel

    ReplyDelete
  65. Anonymous8:52 PM

    24 is the BOMB!

    ReplyDelete
  66. 74 - THE ROCK IS BACK!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous8:59 PM

    Nicely done Tar!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I echo the sentiments of others and employ you, J-G, to never give F-baum another thought...
We like the HABOTN to be pure, and free of corruption, and we don't want to see F-baum have the opportunity to compromise that...

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm up the ball game on the 26th. Will this be a family outing or just the grown ups?

    ReplyDelete
  70. D. Miller might employ you (how much you payin'?) but I implore you not to do it.

    Couldn't resist. Sorry. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Michael....wow a new boy tiger...War Eagle
Mine just started his freshman year at AU and I had forgotten the surprise when changing diapers...don't think it won't happen!!
I would love to go to the Lady Tiger game with my HABOTN shirt on but am not sure I will be recovered from my daughter's wedding on Sat 24th
Just graduated and can't wait to get hitchen

    ReplyDelete
  72. *hitched
JayG - do not go on Finebaum - I can't listen anymore and I'll have to if you go on! He doesn't usually play fair......

    ReplyDelete
  73. Trazy Rock.......can't wait for the fall
    War Eagle and Welcome Back!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I will pay... but, it's not much...Starting pay is $10 annual salary.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Jay G,

One last thing before I go to bed......DO NOT GO ON FINEBAUM!!!

    or as Dylan Thomas said:

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

    ReplyDelete
  76. Pred hopefully we can do more than one. I think they will be playing for while judging by how good they are.

J-Z families are welcome. I'm trying to convince my 12-yr old son that it would be cool to hang out with his dad at a woman's bball game. I think he's buying it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Denny ...

I thought that was Rodney Dangerfield's line from "Back to School."

    ReplyDelete

  82. AUBIGCAT - House is the best man....great choice

    ReplyDelete
  83. Anonymous9:42 PM

    JetToro:

Dangerfield did recite that work in the movie you referenced. His exchange with Sam Kinison in the classroom was great too.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Anonymous9:42 PM

    Crud......Phred's lookin' for you.

    where have you been dude?

    ReplyDelete
  85. I was wondering what happened to Tracy's brother, David, until I saw the video of Tracy, who apparently ate his brother.

    ReplyDelete
  86. So far the DC is the only hire that does not get the Aubie Nation hyped...And he was a solid, good hire...Just not a firecracker

    Weagle Weagle

    ReplyDelete
  87. FSJ ...

"I'm gonna keep my eye on you."

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous9:49 PM

Maybe this delayed OL hire will set off seismic alarms and attract recruits.

I know....they'll announce the OL coach and a Johnny Farms commit on the same weekend.

Anyone notice how many of the much maligned, lazy CTT "camp recruits" have turned out to be highly sought?

    ReplyDelete
  89. AL.Com {sorry to have such bad resources} is saying that McCalebb will join Fairley and Freeman on campus this week....
They are also saying that Auburn is talking too John Thompson about joining the staff...what would he coach?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anonymous10:22 PM

    Freakin crud.

    ReplyDelete
  91. John Thompson would coach defensive backs.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Who is John Thompson

    ReplyDelete
  93. John Thompson is going to teach our DB's how to box out and rebound jump balls...

    ReplyDelete
  94. thats what i was wondering miller

    ReplyDelete
  95. Congrats to Michael! All we had were girls, so I'm afraid I have no advice to offer on changing diapers. Seems like my strategy was to do my best to avoid having to change them.

Jay, I got to hear you on the radio for part of the program again today - great job. Having to listen on my a.m. truck radio is pretty difficult. More static than words - I wouldn't do that to listen to anybody else. Well, maybe a Jan Terri song, but they don't play her very often on a.m.

I'll go with the minority and say that you oughta go onto Finebaum. At least I could hear you on a F.M. station.

    A good evening to all.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Tracy Rocker quote from War Eagle Extra:
I did my best and I left it all out there on the field. And you’re going to have to play hurt sometimes down there, and those are the things that sometimes playing defensive line, a lot of people don’t quite understand that you run into people every day. And you’re expected to run into them even harder on the weekend. So when coaches say, well, today they just took off the pads and everyone just kind of …. Well, there’s only a few guys that get to play flag football. And defensive linemen and offensive linemen don’t get to play flag football. They run into people."

Makes me want to hit somebody.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Jay,

I think you should definitely go on finebaum. Finebaum respects honest opinions without agendas, and you speak your mind and stick by your opinions more than any other Auburn beat writer although i've never heard Goldberg speak. I think it would be cool.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ok - the new Channel on my Tv is Palladia ---

    How about:

    1. Rattle and Hum

    2. Isle of Wight - The Who (69)

    3. Elvis Costello "Club Date"

    4.Chilli Peppers in Milan.

    ---------------------------

Um, yeah. My first HD experience. this just in:

Keith Moon could play the drums live in concert and had a different way of doing it.

And his hair would fit right in in Dis Ch #1554

    ReplyDelete
  99. Good Morning Hotties!!! Rise and shine.

    WARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Congrats Michael, I suggest a welders mask to avoid any sprayage.

So is the John Thompson thing a go?

Just a few years ago he was the DC at Ark and UF, now he's dropped down to be a DB coach?

Jay G., you should definately go on Finebaum. Yeah the guy is a tool who just plays one side against the other to get more callers, but it's a ton of exposure and it would only be good for you.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Anonymous6:33 AM

    Michael, congratulations!

WarEagleRK, Thompson was also the head coach at E.Carolina. His record was about as good as Chizik's.

    ReplyDelete
  102. PM reporting that Steve Campbell has interviewed for the OL job. Other than some success in DII and JuCo ranks, does anyone know how this guy is as an OL coach? How would he fit into Malzahn's O?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Michael- Congrats. Good luck finding some sleep in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Mornin Hotties! In some unrelated college football news:

Did anyone see the article about the Florida State safety Myron Rolle who will study at Oxford instead of entering this year's NFL draft? He will enter the 2010 draft instead. He was projected as an early round pick. Rolle finished an undgrad degree in pre-med in 2.5 years and has been taking master's courses. He says that after his NFL career he plans to open a clinic in the Bahamas. Pretty impressive!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous8:06 AM

    Congrats, MichaelJanTerry.

    ReplyDelete
  106. morning hotties.

AUBigCat, i heard that about Myron Rolle this morning on the radio. pretty impressive. i remember seeing a piece on him last month (i think on ESPN). gotta love guys who have goals like that in life.

  108. Morning Peeps!!!

    All Hail Hotness!!!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Looks like Steve Campbell is familiar with the hurry up no huddle offense. I would assume that it would be very important that the OL coach know A LOT about this type of offense in order to prepare the line. OL coach is a very integral component for this staff.

    ReplyDelete
  110. For those who have been asking about Chaz Ramsey, you can read Evan Woodberry's article today.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Campbell also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Auburn University.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I like how Rocker speaks well of Nutt and his experience there. I do think this was a great hire for Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  113. As always it sounds like Key Ramsey is a bit too vocal in his son's life.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Unfortunately we are only hearing one side of the story but it sounds like this situation was mishandled by both sides. So sad to see this kid in the middle. Hopefully he can get his education and get on with his life with or without football.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Cotton to make his decision soon. Wonder where he'll go. Based on AU making offer to the Daphne QB and looking at other QBs, I'm guessing they either don't want or aren't expecting Cotton to commit to AU.

    ReplyDelete
  116. They all are going to have to make their decisions soon. Did he imply he would make his before signing day?

    ReplyDelete
  117. It sounds like Cotton is going to make his intentions known very soon. I am getting mixed signals. Auburn looking at other QBs would seem to indicate he isn't the guy, but the way he was excited by Willis returning makes me think Auburn could still be in the mix.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Anonymous8:59 AM

Kathy - I agree with the one side of the story. But I am interested with the fact that I did not really see anything about xCTT involved.

Even as a CEO I would think he would get a bit involved with the situation if it got to that level.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Kathy- you'll have to ask Omnica, the all-knowing and all-subscribing Hottie.

I just check the headlines. I dislike the way the recruiting sites operate too much to actually subscribe.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Anonymous9:00 AM

Tarheel - I would say that he will not come. I am ok with that...I think he jumped off the bandwagon too early.

    ReplyDelete
  121. AU1-
Yes, I suspect he'll go Nutts. But who knows. Scout lists his interests as the 3 MS schools, AU, and K-State.

    ReplyDelete
  122. All this diaper talk...

HABOTN, now with new and improved birth control!

    ReplyDelete
  123. That article on Chaz Ramsey seems very troubling. It sounds very likely that there were communications problems between the Ramseys and Auburn. I would have expected CTT to step in and get everyone on the same page.

I do hope that Auburn acted in the best interest of this kid. The team physician should have been able to overrule the trainers, which sounds like what happened. I think it is just poor communications on both sides.

    ReplyDelete
  124. McCalebb being on campus is exciting. It looks like we will be fine at runningback. Tate, Fannin, and Smith seem solid. Maybe McCalebb will end up being a star.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Steve- The team physician and the Auburn Sports Medicine (training staff) work independantly of each other, but I would say that they are 9.9 times out of 10 on the same page. Goodlett's office is right next to Gamber's office, so if this happened as Ramsey say's, then I am very surprised.

The disturbing part of the story to me is how Coach Nall handled the situation. Cleaning out his locker without a warning is just not right.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Nice story by Evan. Certainly worth a read.

    Chaz Ramsey

    ReplyDelete
  127. Eddie, my argument would be: It's football. Aggressive stuff happens.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Good morning JGT! Thanks for another HOT Day on HABOTN

    ReplyDelete
  129. So, are we still hung up on Cotton?

Who are his other offers besides us? Southern Miss? Kansas State? Troy?

It doesn't seem any of the big boys want him, plus it doesn't seem like his dad would be a positive if his son didn't see the field one day.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Jay- I don't disagree. It is just the communication issues that seem to be unexplainable. Again, this story was told from Chaz's point of few and not the other side.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Anonymous9:57 AM

RK - I am not....I was all about him especially now that he was in the Baltimore area. Him jumping ship, prior to seeing what was happening disturbed me.

As always, pick the school, not the coaches.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I just wonder if Cotton has any say in the school he picks, or if Ray Sr. will do the decision making for him.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Anonymous10:06 AM

    That I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Can't see Chaz playing for AU ... if he's talkative like this ... gotta believe Chiz will think ... let him be talkative for someone else.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I say Ray(Squared) and his Wife all have input on the decision....

It should take a family to make that decision in the best interest of their child and his future education.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Cotton has offers from the 3 MS schools, Ark, K-State, AU and several others. I don't believe we have offered his dad, and I hope we don't. I'm sure he is a nice person with good intentions, but he's been a bit more vocal than I'd prefer.

    ReplyDelete
  137. There is a difference in being involved in the decision and being the decision maker.

This should be a time for Ray Jr. to enjoy the attention he is being given, but (just from my perspective) it seems to be the time for Ray Sr. to get the attention and press for himself.

Have any of you read the latest from Stephen A. Smith?

  142. stephen smith is stupider than me. I also thought Gill should have gotten the job, and I was wrong. But at least I wasn't SO stupid as to think Gill didn't get it because of race.

AUIN04 ... That's pretty stout saying military. As a 34 year retiree (Officer) I would be interested to hear why you think so. Are Kodi Burns parents military? How about Key Ramsey (Chads father)? I think it is more a parents personality (Trying to live their youth again through their kids?) then anything such as the military. All parents are concerned as to their children's future some just don't want to let go and let them learn on their own.

  144. I have no problem with parents acting as a go between with the media. It makes sense. When I was in high school, I nearly soiled myself in speech class. These are just kids. Parents sheltering them while they make major life decisions makes sense.

  145. I confess. I am a helicopter parent.

  146. Is Steve Campbell an OL genius?

  147. I also confess I am WAY behind at work today and need some sort of intervention.

  149. Steven Campbell
Campbell also has an earned reputation as a coach who knows how to light up the score- board. His offense at DSU averaged 42 points in four playoff games and broke 21 school offense records. Campbell’s no huddle offense also shattered 12 Gulf South Conference Records and six NCAA Division II records. At Middle Tennessee, Campbell’s offense produced a 1,000-yard rusher and scored more than 20 points against three SEC teams.

Campbell learned how to keep an offense moving as a college center, starting in 43 straight games at Southeastern Louisiana University and Troy State University. In 1987, with Campbell under center, Troy State won the NCAA Division II National Championship.

  165. I saw where our RB stable was being discussed in earlier posts (since Ont. McCal. is now in). I asked yesterday about the status of Reggie Hunt from Daphne. Omnica, do you know the status of this guy?

Also, I am over the Cottons. I don't think Ray Jr wants to be an Auburn Tiger. I get that he is talented, and wants to play pro ball one day and college is just another step for him (as it is with many kids these days). But I think back to guys like Cadillac, Ron Brown, and J Camp. They wanted to play in the NFL as well, but they loved AU like the rest of us do.

Car 54, I have an APB search for a 19 year old black male. Approximately 5'10, 185 - 200 lbs. Last seen in the Auburn, AL around August 10, 2008. Subject runs a 4.4 forty and answers to the name Reggie Hunt. Mr. Hunt's AU family members are curious to his whereabouts. He is believed to be injured from a fall (from the face of the planet).

  174. Dang Monica, you beat me. Is he coming back to AU? If so when?

I know a guy who coached against him and was very impressed.

that's so not PC, but so funny.

Did you ever hear the comedian who made fun of various ethnic groups by saying something to the effect, "if you want to know what it's like to be white, you gotta do what the white folks do". Depending on the group, he talked about not having a job, leaving a broken down station wagon in the left lane of the interstate, and kissing your dog on the lips. I cracked up at that last one, because it's so true. Mind you, it's never a French kiss, but Mrs THT and I love our dog. Anyway, who was that comedian?

Mon- sorry I exceeded 8 lines.

  180. You're forgiven, Tar. :-)

  181. Did we adopt an 8 line rule? My apologies, I will adhere from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Will - I'm just ADD, impatient, old and grumpy. It's not a rule. Just a monicaism that Tar likes to remind me.

I don't remember an 8 line rule and as a member of the ROF, I will not abide unless Master Jedi Tate commands it.

And now, just to annoy Monica and others, I will purposefully exceed the eight line rule. :-)

After a recent article I wrote where I talked about the SEC dominance of the BCS MNC, an Ohio State fan and I traded a few friendly comments concerning his Buckeyes. He actually argued that Ohio State consistently has better talent than any of the SEC Champions of late (particularly Florida) and even Southern California for the last several years, but he said OSU HC Jim Tressel doesn't like to gamble and run up the score and this costs OSU dearly in big games.

    I laughed out loud.
