Auburn adds another commitment ... sort of
TUESDAY MORNING
Post No. 1,029
Daphne High quarterback Robert Cooper has committed himself to the Tigers' program, but won't make the roster until January 2010 ... at the earliest. We know this because our friends at AuburnSports.com tell us it is so.
Cooper will be grayshirting. He will sign a Letter of Intent on Wednesday, but will not enroll as a full-time student until January. That will preclude him from participating in football activities this fall because those endeavors are limited to full-time undergrads or graduates engaged in post-baccalaureate studies. When he joins the team in January 2010, he'll have five years to play four.
Cooper can play a variety of positions. Time will tell.
Auburn's last successful grayshirt: LB Chris Evans.

jhag -- I consider Bryce Brown a massive long shot for Auburn.
Just curious. Was there ever a final word on what happened with Deron Furr? Was it simply a case of a highschool hot shot getting an attitude adjustment from Mr. Powers, or was in a complete attitude adjustment from the secondary?
FSJ,
My interpretation of Scenes From an Italian Restaurant:
The first part of the song is two old friends getting together after a long time apart (maybe Brenda and Eddie). This part of the song is slow and mature, a reference to the two diners.
The middle is the story of Brenda and Eddie. Two kids who fell in love and married too soon. This part of the song is lively and fast, just like B and E.
Back to the present. Slow and mature. The perfect ending.
Ahh beautiful...
Oh there is no question about that, that's my point i think someone over at Rivals is snortin something..we have 0.0009% chance at this kid I mean come on
Time for a late push for Trent Richardson. Someone call him and explain to him how he could shake up the world.
Losing Trent Richardson to us would cause Nicky to wet his 36 waist, 22 inseam pants.
jhag
So you're saying theris a chance!
Dumb and Dumber.
Now, I win the cookie.
JGT-
Was the AU plane in Gadsden today?
Any word on why UT's recruiting class seems to be falling a part a bit? Any guesses?
Recruiting class saw Layla without her makeup .... Yeesh.
This might be late...But....
No need for Punter on a Stick*
* Still seeking kicker on a stick
I wish Richardson would have all the media in front of him, and say " I am going to the Univeristy of Alabama......at Birmingham"
Put on a Blazers Jersey, and set a houndstooth hat on fire....yelling Ding Dong the Bear is Dead...
A Boy can dream
Didn't Kendall Kelly say AU was out of it sometime last week.
If it's not uat, I suspect Clemson for KK.
I'd laugh all day if Dre did that, Jet. I probably still wouldn't believe it though.
The plane was in Gadsden today.

I wish there were more fires set and gunplay on signing day. It would break the monotony.
Emmett...kicker on a stick debuted last night. Keep up boy.
Aubie...love the new avatar. Sorry if I offend anyone, but that's funny as hell.
j-z - it's about time.
I'm offended.
Oh, wait... it's my avatar.
nevermind
gatiger...art takes time. Much like Paul Masson, I will serve no logo before its time. (Cue Orson)
Aubie,
The caption should be "I'm taking yo' a$$ to the hole!"
TICK...........TOCK...............TICK............TOCK...........................Tick..........................Tock.........................
Oh the anticipation...
And I gave up on Bryce a long time ago...

Isnt there a dead period from last sunday until tomorrow?
j-z,
I hate I missed the big reveal....
Thats what I get for holding my breath for it....I must have blacked out
Y'all might laugh if Dre "whipped that out" but I would cry...
Jay, I have a question for coach Chizik the next time you talk with him. "Coach Chizik, wouldn't you feel like the biggest idiot in the world for losing one of the best kickers in the SEC because you didn't offer him a scholarship?".
There are players on this team that you will never hear from. They are on scholarship but will never see action in a game. Any player that can have such a huge impact on who wins a game should be on scholarship. If you want proof, see the LSU game. If Durst had made that last punt, we would have likely won.
Is there a certain hour that the dead period starts tonight?
I think this is a quiet period, correct? Coaches can't visit, but they call recruits all they want. Maybe the plane has been flying personnel to hand deliver those LOIs for everyone to sign!
The kicker thing again?! Seriously?
sheesh...
Who should get a scholarship? Clinton Durst or Brett Carr? Well, Durst was one of the best punters in the SEC in his first season of playing football. Of course Brett Carr was one of the ...ummm... wait a minute. Brett who?
Of course Charles Olatunji graduated, so he doesn't count in terms of future scholarship but he, wait a minute. Who the heck is that?
Durst was a, if not the, bright spot on a team that dominated...I mean beat...ummm, ULM, UTM, and MSU. We also stomped the crap out of UT, well, not stomped the crap out of, well, at least we won. We also knocked off mighty Southern Miss. Yes, Durst was a bright spot. You don't let bright spots go away.
I wonder if there is any rule against a plane flying over a players house dropping bags of cash?
I know we don't care about Randle any longer but apparently his father has recently stated that if Benton signs with LSU, Randle will not.
LSU boards are buzzing. They think he'll go to Oklahoma if Benton signs. Who knows? Who cares?
Rumor
I don't listen to Finebaum, but I read the info on here about him bashing Dansby. I had read earlier in the season the reason why Dansby mentions his high school which is very admirable. I am so glad he called and set the record straight with PF. People need to call BS when he spews it, which is often.
New thread up.
