Best of the teleconferences, 2/26

THURSDAY MID-DAY
Post No. 1,076

Hey everyone. Nell Fortner and Jeff Lebo just held their teleconferences. I scribbled down a few highlights you may enjoy.

JEFF LEBO
  • Team is 18-10 overall and 7-6 in the SEC
  • Tied with Mississippi State for 2nd in the West
  • Auburn plays at Mississippi State on Saturday night
  • Auburn beat Mississippi State by 15 points last week
  • Saturday's game will be televised on FSN

  • On the team surging of late: "It's nice to be able to play meaningful games at this time of year. They have put themselves in position to do that. I've talked to them about not looking three, four, five games down the road. The only thing you can control is what's up next. You're almost into March. It's exciting for our kids who haven't been in this position before."

  • On rebounding problems: "When the ball goes up, I can't make their arms longer. I can't make them wider. We have to be junkyard dogs."

  • On MSU: "We see ourselves. We can matchup with them better than the other teams that are a little bigger. We're mirror images. The difference is that they shoot the ball more from 3. They're averaging 31 or 32 (three-point attempts) over the last five games. Almost half of their shots come from the three point line. They've committed to playing small. When they put them all in there together, that makes it a hard thing to defend."

  • On why Auburn has been better since the 2-5 league start: ``We've been down in a lot of games. Our kids come back and continue to battle. That's probably maturity. The big key for us is that Tay Waller, at least since the Ole Miss game there, has been offensively a difference-maker out there."

NELL FORTNER
  • Team is 26-2 overall and 11-2 in the SEC
  • Team already has clinched a share of the SEC title
  • A home win against Arkansas on Sunday (2 p.m.) wins the title outright
  • Auburn won by nine points at Arkansas in January

  • On F DeWanna Bonner coming out of high school: "She was already talented. She just needed to add more to the game. She was a layup shooter. She added that mid-range jumper. She added a three-point shot. She added so much to her game. That's what happens in college. She takes a lot of pride in her game."

  • On recruiting PG Whitney Boddie in 2004: "It was lucky for us. She wasn't playing summer ball. She was under the radar. We hit the ground running as soon as we got here. We were just fortunate that it was that kind of year in the Alabama high schools."

  • On F Chantel Hilliard, who was injured last weekend: "She should be ready to play."

  • On Auburn dropping to No. 7 in the AP poll after losing at Vanderbilt last weekend: "Auburn is the new kid on the block. We're not going to get as much respect or benefit of the doubt. We're building that. You keep building your reputation. I understand it. I don't have a problem with it. We just have to keep winning ballgames."

  1. so Nell didn't have much to say?

    ReplyDelete
  2. looks like is just let her record do the talking.

    ReplyDelete
  3. She has more to say now.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well, JGT does title the post "Best of...". I can only conclude that the rest of her comments were outside of the PG-13 realm and therefore completely inappropriate for us.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Nell cusses like a sailor.

    ReplyDelete
  6. just bustin you there Jay. I figured it was still going on or you hadn't been able to post anything under her photo

    ReplyDelete
  7. HTML is a cruel maiden at times.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Jay, does the men's team have a prayer at the NCAA tourney?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah I thought the pollsters were tough on them for losing ybt three on the road against the #19 team.
OK lost to TX AM this week. I will be curious to see where they fall to.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I think the men have a prayer, yes.

They have to win at MSU on Saturday. That's a key game.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hey, completely unrelated, what happened to "leftover crack"? Is he going by another name, or has he just disappeared?

    ReplyDelete
  12. IMO they have a chance at the NIT. but short of winning the SEC tourney, no chance of going to the big dance.
RPI is too low, most all wins are at home, SEC is way down this year.
I could be wrong but I think an NIT bid, not gonna play in AU though, would be a nice victory for this team.

  14. Leftover Crack was a meteor I think. Better to burn out than to fade away

    ReplyDelete
  15. Interesting... Nell writes a letter to the students asking for support from the student section at the game on Sunday. I wonder if Lebo would ever do something like that?
If the conference calls weren't mandated, do you think he'd even do them?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Has Monica been around lately. She got the GPS for the car and think now she is lost.

    ReplyDelete
  17. My friends in Auburn say Nell has the girls go to the local schools and give out shirts, etc. after school and mingle with parents as they come to pick the kids up.
A big part of coaching is marketing. Ask the guy in west AL.

    ReplyDelete
  18. No doubt wtc....

A big part of coaching is marketing.

Saban gets it. Your women's BB coach gets it....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bruce Pearl gets it...man I hate that.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think Nell does a very good job of selling the program, and getting the community invested in the program by involving her team in the community.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous12:37 PM

wtc, Monica is at a conference or something in Alexandria this week. She's been posting at night this week.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Exactly Wes...

Your example is the best one yet.

    ReplyDelete
  23. wtc, usually once a week Auburn has athletes from various sports helping with the morning car pools at the kindergarten and elementary schools here. They usually invite the kids and parents to whatever event is going on for them that week. The girl's basketball team passed out tickets a few weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous12:38 PM

Nell is doing a fantastic job. I hope she sticks around for a long, long time.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Absolutely on the marketing thing. When I was at AU, Tommy Joe Eagles (may he R.I.P.) went door to door at apartments, dorms, etc., seeking support.

Lebo, and his crazy laser-shooting eyes, irks me.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh and no I have never seen the men's basketball team out there helping the kids out of their cars. The football team helped year before last but didn't this past year. I blame Franklin. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes...Franklin...

    He's such a dumbass.

    ReplyDelete
  28. is it just me or does that pic of Lebo have a 'Saturday Night Fever' flair to it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous12:51 PM

I'll say it again, Nell is doing a fantastic job.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Time to go market myself.

    ReplyDelete
  31. So...I talked to Mrs. FSJ about my plans for the monster grill last night....She rolled her eyes and said whatever.....

I am taking that as a yes...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anonymous12:56 PM

    hmmmm...are you sure, FSJ?

    ReplyDelete
  33. you better have something picked out for her or you will have that thing brought up in another conversation later

Not that it has ever happened to me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. sounds like a 'yes' to me.

    ReplyDelete
  35. FSJ - you go on and buy that grill. You should also buy Mrs. FSJ a nice tray to place the drinks on to serve you more easily.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous1:00 PM

what kind of tone did she use when she said, "whatever"? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  37. Luv:

She used the same tone she uses when I ask her if the guys and I can go to New Orleans for the weekend....

    ReplyDelete
  38. A "whatever" is a yes in my house...go for it!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous1:03 PM

    well, there you have it!

    ReplyDelete
  40. In my house, "whatever" is "Yes, but you better not do it or else."

    ReplyDelete
  41. gatiger...

    That is a great suggestion...

While I am at it I will also get her a new vacuum cleaner for her birthday...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous1:05 PM

FSJ, do you normally go to N.O. when she uses that tone?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Luv:

Only if I want to live in silence for the next week.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm gonna go with a big fat "No" luv. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  45. JGT, every time I think you have given us more information than we could possibly hope for — i.e. the football coaches yesterday — you top it.

You have single-handedly brought me into Lady Tiger basketball. I have even paid a bit of attention to the men's basketball.

The Auburn Athletic Department should bow when you come into the building.

    ReplyDelete
  46. FSJ, the drink tray (if it's pretty will work). The vacuum has an electric plug so even if you brought home diamonds, they would cancel out.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous1:09 PM

AUMom, agreed. I pay much more attention to Auburn athletics because of Jay G and this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  48. should have read

    (if it's pretty) will work

    ReplyDelete
  49. Thanks for the b-ball update Jay. Don't get me wrong, I get that football always will and should get the most pub on this blog, but given that both b-ball teams are actually relevant this season, let's start giving them even more love, especially with March around the corner.

    ReplyDelete
  50. FSJ - AUMom overruled my next suggestion (it seems there's a hangup with plugin items) which was going to be a blender for Mrs. FSJ to mix and make your beverages before she brings them to you.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The men are lurking in the suburbs of Relevant, but not there yet.

According to www.nitology.com, we are projected as a No. 6 seed.

I don't know what his more disturbing: that there is a web site called NITology, or that I was looking at it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. FSJ ...

Candlesticks make a nice gift. Plus, she can use one of them to bash in your skull when she figures out you dropped $5k on a Tuscaloosa sleeping bag.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Now I would only want a vacuum cleaner for a gift if a maid came attached to it...if that's the case then screw diamonds.

    ReplyDelete
  54. i asked for a vacuum cleaner for my last birthday. is that weird?

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's also weird that you admitted it here. You're some kind of freak or something.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I will not sit here and listen to you bad mouth Scottie B, the T-Shirt King of the HOTTIES!

    Gentlemen!

    ReplyDelete
  57. SB-did a hot french maid come with it?

    ReplyDelete
  58. no freak. i was just trying to be frugal. personally, i thought the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser was a fantastic gift! :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Obviously some mid-major AD made the brackets for the WGC-Accenture Match Play ... Tiger, Phil and Vijay are in the same half of the bracket, it appears.

    ReplyDelete
  60. thanks Jet. and no, the wifey didn't think highly of the french maid idea. bummer.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Scottie B,

    They never do.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yeah, the French Maid idea didn't go over well in the gatiger household either. It seems each of us assumed that the other would be wearing it. Oh the hilarity! It's nothing but comedy hijinx up in here.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I made a similar suggestion to Mrs. Jet. She suggested I could be the Central American gardener, and she would deport me.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jet,
Are you watching the Match Play?
I can't even follow the scoring online here at work (and it's a pain on the blackberry).

I think I may finally have to test out the world of twitter. Any suggestions folks? Is it worth trying to learn something new? What's a good twitter app for my blackberry?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Now there's no sense in that Jet. You and your kind are just taking the jobs that no one else wants to do. As such, you should be entitled to full citizenship rights.

Ha ha! I make myself laugh sometimes even when I'm typing. Sometimes I just think the craziest things.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I am able to track it ...

    Notables:

Phil is up 4 thru 13 over Zach Johnson.

Tiger up 1 thru 3 over Tim Clark

Vijay up 1 thru 7 over Luke Donald.

Camilo Villegas up 3 thru 9 over Miguel Angel Jiminez.

Stricker all squares with Els thru 7

    ReplyDelete
  67. hey FSJ what kinda grill you doing??

I built a full outdoor kitchen next to our pool.. I think the wife was drunk when I asked her if I could do it.

    ReplyDelete
  68. My idea for increasing the attendance at AU basketball games.
    ---->
    dress like the football team.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Exactly, Aubie.

    Don't wear orange.

    ReplyDelete
  70. When the ball goes up, I can't make their arms longer. I can't make them wider. I can't recruit guys with longer arms and wider bodies.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Did somebody say something about a french maid? I'm interested.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thanks for your support, AUMom and Luv and ... everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I asked the french maid to dress like my wife, and my latin american gardner to dress like me.
Half the fun with none of the risk!

    ReplyDelete
  74. I messed up once and gave my wife a waffle maker for v-day once when we were dating I thought it would be nice if I made breakfast with it but it still did not go over well

    ReplyDelete
  75. The best gifts we've given for V-Day were this year. I was allowed to go to Auburn for a boy's weekend out. She went to Birmingham with the girls for a weekend of shopping. Marital Bliss.

    ReplyDelete
  76. as far as a vacuum cleaner goes I am safe there bc she works for hoover so she gets herself that

    ReplyDelete
  77. Breaking News: Boston College head football coach Jeff Jagodzinski is still fired. In other news, Philippine president Ferdinand Marcos is still dead.

    ReplyDelete
  78. My wife is awesome.
For V-Day she arranged a romantic weekend for me, her, and a friend of hers. The friend had told her husband that she was in Birmingham shopping with the girls, while he was on a boys weekend in Auburn.
    poor sap.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Ouch. Well played sir!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Jet,
Is Lefty choking again on the back 9?

    ReplyDelete
  81. AUjunkie....

This is the one that my brother-in-law and I have decided on..

    Smoker

Now whether Mrs. FSJ really lets me get this is another story...

    ReplyDelete
  82. DMiller ... Phil holds on for a 1-up win

    Tiger in a dogfight.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Jay G ...

Careful on the French Maid talk ... I seem to remember a discussion of a red card, a broken ankle and a smile.

    Easy, son.

We need you well for the postseason and spring practice.

    ReplyDelete
  84. What is this world coming to?....

I just heard that a company with Auburn ties will be building the new upper deck at Bryant-Denny..

    Brasfield and Gorrie

I'd rather have Jet & Hoopie build the thing...

    ReplyDelete
  85. FSJ,
if you want a "REAL" Smoker and Grille check this out:

    "Big Green Egg"

    ReplyDelete
  86. Mobilz....I thought about that too..

but.....I need something that will feed a crowd.

    Hear those are great thoug.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Thanks for the basketball coverage, Jay!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous4:04 PM

    T. Dub is 3 down through 13. We may be headed for an upset and I have to leave now to go to the gym!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Is anyone able to see the match? Tiger looked like he stiffened up a little on the back 9 yesterday... I wonder if his knee has stiffened up again?

    ReplyDelete
  90. thing is FSJ, it cooks real fast and uses less coal. my father in law has two and i can cook ribs faster on this than anything i have ever had.... plus it does not burn just uses radiant heat to do the job cause they are porcelean encased.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I probably will get one of those at some point too....I have heard great things about them and some of the folks on the egghead message board cook up some stuff that makes you want to drool.

    ReplyDelete
  92. "cooking ribs" and "fast" should never be put in the same sentence

    ReplyDelete
  93. I ran fast to escape the smothering fire caused by a mistake I made while cooking ribs. cooking fast ribs. ribs cooking fast.

    ReplyDelete
  94. AUmom, well put (about Jay G single handedly generating interest in non-football athletic programs.

    D Miller,
personally, I don't have a need for a twitter app. Using my sms/text messaging and the internet work fine for my purposes. Granted, I don't follow a ton of people, so I don't need the organization that an app presents. If you plan on following hundreds of people, or the people you follow update every 30 seconds, you might need an app.

I just asked a couple of blackberry users I know, and got TwitterBerry, which is a native application, so you don't have to worry about SMS limits (if you don't have unlimited).

That's pretty much the only blackberry app I was able to get a review on. TweetDeck is super popular (based on me looking back through my tweats and seeing what people used), but I'm pretty sure that's an iPhone specific app.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Oh crap, I just read Will's post. Sorry Will, I had no idea. I will try to keep my sentences clear of that combo from now on.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Big fan of the cashmere sweater under the suit look that Wilbon is sporting today.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Curious choice by Kornheiser to go shirtless.

    ReplyDelete
  98. my friends say he's a mensch, I think he's a putz. After the shirtless stunt, I'm not sure which he really is. Could go either way.

    ReplyDelete
  99. He reminds me of a rodent.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Puppet hour has declined post-furlough.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I have been busy with work the last few Puppet Hours, and Harrison has been a bit of a no show. It'll get rockin again.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Thanks PF...
I probably won't follow a ton of people... I don't know who uses twitter, if anybody that I know...

What I keep seeing are links to twitter from sites the live blog events (like today's WGC match play tourney)... I can't keep up with golf tourney's while at work. Would this be a good use for twitter?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Sorry I haven't been very high profile here today ... I've been doing Alabama State stuff (Bag is on furlough) and now I'm headed back to Montgomery to take call-ins tonight.

I will be around after 8.

ps: I chatted briefly with Hot Carter earlier. He's gained another 10 pounds of muscle and looks more menacing from a physical standpoint. Same friendly attitude, though.

    ReplyDelete
  104. AUbie-just read your post from @3:20. That was great. Surely the post of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Good to hear about Hot Boy!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Aubie - You're my hero. You crack me up.

WTC - I'm in a hotel. Heading home tomorrow.

    Luv - Thanks very much. You're a sweetheart! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  107. Jay G ...

Hopefully STJ futbol will have something worth calling in ... A goal would be nice.

It was a pleasure meeting you last night Monica.

Gentlemen, this is a delightful lady and you should meet her if you get the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  110. It is truly awesome to have JGT articles again.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I don't actually know anyone that has been able to afford a Big Green Egg. I do smoke a lot of pork on my grill and really wish I had one - have heard nothing but good things.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere here but...who clocked our OL coach in the eye? Please tell me someone asked him about that.

    ReplyDelete
  113. BigCat - the story goes that the eye is a result of a collision with the solid skull of his large dog, I can't remember the breed of dog.

    ReplyDelete
  114. 10 minutes left
    UGA 43

    Women's basketball

UGA has done nothing this half.

    ReplyDelete
  115. BigCat, he was taking his 130+ mastiff to the vet. Unfortunately he had to have him put to sleep. Very sad.

    ReplyDelete
  116. any word on the AU-FSU baseball games? PF?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Thanks GA & Kathy! That's very unfortunate about the dog. My friend had to put their dog down on Tuesday and it's been extremely hard on her all week.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Auburn's hit two more dingers tonight, to bring their SEC leading total to 12.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Ok did anyone else see this from the Auburner?

    Auburn Coach Doppelgangers

I literally fell out I was laughing so hard! Gus Malzahn and Radar O'Reilly from MASH!!Tommy Thigpen and Xzibit!! I had no clue that coach Lolley was so scary looking. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  126. FSU has runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs. Auburn needs a miracle to get take this game into extra innings.

    ReplyDelete
  127. runners move over. one out. men on 2 and 3.

    ReplyDelete
  128. intentional walk. bases loaded. one out. bottom 9.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Big Cat, I was looking at those yesterday. Funny stuff. The valentine's cards cracked me up too. Especially the Jay Jacobs one that said "I love you so much that if you left me, I would give you $5 million."

    ReplyDelete
  130. Kristina those guys over there should do that full time. They are so creative and funny.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Walk off single. FSU scores, wins 8-7

    ReplyDelete
  132. Good things:

Auburn went toe to toe with FSU, one of the best teams in the land, for 8 and a third innings.

Auburn continues to hit the long ball.

    The scored runs.

    Bad things:

Pitching continues to be an issue. Starter Ty Kelly (sophomore...1st career start, I think) only lasted 4 innings, and gave up 3 earned runs. Auburn used a total of 4 pitchers today. This bullpen is not deep. If the starters can't go longer than four innings, there are going to be more serious problems down the line.

    3 errors

This series continues tomorrow in Talahassee, and Saturday and Sunday in Auburn. Hopefully, the Tigers will find some way to split the series. I doubt it, but we'll see.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I pity the fool who ticks him off

    ReplyDelete
  135. Thanks for the updates, Frankenbummer.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Ok, I'm looking for some information:

What is Nell Fortner's college coaching record? (Can't seem to find a good source)

Also, she used to coach at Stephen F Austin. Was she there when Chizik was there? She was there from 86-90.Did she have input on the hiring?

    ReplyDelete
  137. What time is the baseball game on Sunday? Would there be any way to go to the baseball game & the chicks bball game??

    ReplyDelete
  138. I got a new word...sugly

Quoting Shaq, "...dam I'm sugly, dats sexy and ugly mixed in one"

    ReplyDelete
  139. I think the baseball game is at 1pm and the women play at 2pm.

    ReplyDelete
  140. So Nova Tiger and Monica made a HABOTN connection in the real world? Crazy. Hey Frankenbummer, you want to meet at McDonald's in Andalusia for lunch tomorrow?

    ReplyDelete
  141. Major SEC football withdrawls tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Everyone still alive?

    ReplyDelete
  143. Can't imagine you all are still around, but ...

On FS Central right now, they're airing a replay of David Oku's Carl Albert HS Titans playing in the Oklahoma 5A state championship game.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Coach Boone: What are you?
    Titans: Agile! Mobile! Hostile!

    Coach Boone: What is pain?
    Titans: French bread!

    Coach Boone: What is fatigue?
    Titans: Army clothes!

Coach Boone: Will you ever quit?
Titans: No! We want some mo! We want some mo!

NOW, OFF TO THE GYM. HATE UAT. THANK YOU.

    What are you talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  146. Morning Hotties - it's finally here, the dreaded weekend. It's dreaded here because Mrs. Gatiger is going on a retreat of some kind for the weekend leaving me with tigercub alone. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than willing and more than capable, but it's supposed to storm, rain, and I even heard some weather flunkie mention snow for Sunday. This translates into little to no time outside for us. How much Mickey's Clubhouse is one man expected to take? Oh the horror.

  152. GaTiger ...

Now you'll know why tigers eat their young.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Jet - that'd be a shame because I kinda like the kid. I bet I'd also get in some trouble when Mrs. Gatiger got home.

  154. GaTiger ...

Just assert your husbandly authority, and I'm sure everything will work out fine.

  156. I look forward to hearing how the Michael & Peter Frankenschmidt lunch at McDonald's in Andalusia goes today.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I'm probably going to order an 8 pack of chicken nuggets.

Are you going to Supersize it, PF? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  159. PF - I'm betting you're a Sweet & Sour kind of guy. Get the Hot Fudge Sundae too, go all out it's a special event.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I thought McDonald's did away with the SuperSize after that movie. I don't eat there much, so I have no idea.

    ReplyDelete
  161. sounds like Senator Jet is ready to take on the day. :)

morning hotties. what a heartbreaker in Tallahassee last nite for the baseball tigers. my sister promises me she'll even up the series tonite. we'll see.

  163. yum. mcdonald's sounds yummy. i have it maybe 3-4 times a year.

  164. Did she wear her HABOTN shirt last night?

    ReplyDelete
  165. McDonald's newish southern style chicken bicuit is acceptable when a chick-fil-a is not around. Definitely not a substitute, but it'll do in a bing.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Morning Hotties and TGIF. GaTiger, this is when you introduce the tigercub to some legos or tinker toys so you can escape the run of mickey mouse club. Re: McD's not so much a fan myself, but if pressed the Big Man sans middle bread is my poison. Wendy's and Chick-Fil-A have my market cornered on the nuggets. The new ChickFilA Sauce is the bomb diggity.

  167. While I enjoy the occasional CFA CFA biscuit ... the true biscuit breakfast is the Hardee's Steak Biscuit, with the Sausage as a runnerup.

    ReplyDelete
  168. Anyone ever hit up the Flying Biscuit and get the Biscuits and Gravy with eggs on top? That's my ideal breakfast right there.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I'm with you, Jet. Hardees steak biscuit is numer uno. No Hardees within a hundred miles of my house, though. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  170. I think I have only been to Hardee's twice...ever. Not many around here. Next time I see one around breakfast hours I will most def hit up the steak biscuit.

  171. she didn't PF. she went straight from work. wore purple. ??? it's funny but she met FSU Head Coach Mike Martin yesterday at lunch. he spoke at the FSU BCM. she did give him a little grief that AU would beat them. guess the hoodoo didn't work. she tried. she said he was a witty guy and spoke with a John Wayne-esque drawl.

Maybe it's because I'm not southern, but I prefer a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. I do like the chicken minis. I love me some Sister Schuberts!

    ReplyDelete
  173. Yummm Chikin Minis!!!

  174. Too bad there isn't a decent coffee shop in my building, the coffee we have tastes like motor oil.

  175. Anonymous8:23 AM

SeanZ, ours is worse than that. I can't drink it. Well, until yesterday, but I had to have something.

    ReplyDelete
  176. i brew 5-6 cups every morning and bring it in two mugs with me. i'm addicted.

    ReplyDelete
  177. That Nell Fortner photo really needs a caption. I am thinking "I could have had a V8".

    ReplyDelete
  178. SeanZ - we have all that stuff, my cub's not wanting for toys. This will be an exhausting weekend I predict. The fine HD LCD will be wasted on Mickey's Clubhouse a good bit of time, I'll be on the floor alot playing with trucks, trains and what not. All that's good, I just wish we'd be able to go outside but it doesn't look like that'll be in the cards.

Steve, I'm thinking more like, "Are you f***ing kidding me, ref???!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  180. Anyone else wonder why Hardees doesn't serve breakfast 24 hours a day? Place is wrapped up during breakfast and dead for the rest of the day. And I love the pork chop biscuit when avaliable.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Morning HOTTIES!

    Well it's the weekend baby!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  182. I had one of those 6 dollar burgers one time from Hardees and it was not that good, so I agree, the breakfast all day thing would be very beneficial to their sales.

    ReplyDelete
  183. SeanZ - ditto, I seem to recall thinking I was overcharged by about $5.

    ReplyDelete
  184. One more Hardees question and I'll move on. Is it Hardees corporate policy to let the older people take over the seating and treat everyone else as intruders or is that just a small-town thing?

    ReplyDelete
  185. Depressed, I think that it could be a little of both.

    ReplyDelete
  186. depressed - I'm willing to bet that 9 out of 10 of those seniors buy nothing more than a cup of coffee and occupy that seat for almost 2 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Mike Martin is a real character. Awesome guy to interview.

I'll go ahead and break some disappointing news for Frankenbummer and a few others: I won't be covering the FSU @ AU baseball games this weekend. We have this new "area of emphasis" at the MA where we're supposed to take one full day off per week.

I chose Saturday. You know I'll be here chattin' it up, but I'm not going to be "working" ...
