Chizik speaks
In this spot yesterday was a video of Gene Chizik.
I have taken down the embedded video, but click here to view Chizik speak about his feelings on NSD and the Tigers' haul.
Enjoy.

The truth HURTS.
that's just gross
hahaha
PENGUINS WON!!! Will wonders never cease
Jet - I want to thank you for helping me work out my bamer hate muscle in preparation for moving back to Alabama.
Are there any scholarships left?
1,205 comments...this train ain't stoppin yet
Jay, All things considered: last years record, the negative media on Chiz, limited time to recruit etc.. how do you rate this class?
I'll go with a B+, which is great considering two months ago I was expecting C- at best.
no campfire today =(
Monica ...
I am here to help ... and to hate.
jhag, bud, I'm out of gas today.
I have Campfire plans. Soon.
Also ... Monica ... I sent you some extra workout material via email.
Takes more than a campfire today!!!
So Bryce Brown really is going to take two visits?
PCTiger ... I'd say B.
It was going to be a C, so Gene Chizik and his peeps raised it a whole letter grade in six weeks.
That's pretty impressive.
we can hold an unoffical campfire...
Jay G pay no attention to this....
So much for Duke making it a game.
I admire jets consistency. His love of Auburn is matched only by his hatred of the evil empire. As it should be.
Have faith Barkley!
No campfires today, kids ... a wildfire that's gonna burn Tuscaloosa down!
What happens at said Campfire?? I've heard about it, but missed the only one I've been around for.
Faker that is what i was getting at lets roll it boy!
Never go against Coach K
Duke is getting werked
I am in receipt of aforementioned material.
Kind regards,
Monica
I'm game...
Monica chatroll if your game...JAY G, your not seeing this no worries.
Campfires are live chats on the blog. We hold them occasionally.
The chat site actually runs 24 hours a day, but only insiders know the URL.
Nice! I bet it is pretty crazy in there
ESPN rates AU's class 25th? Is that what just scrolled across the bottom of the screen?
Does anyone have any info on Clinton Durst?
Interesting. Coach Les Miles is stating that LSU pulled their offer to Benton before signing day.
No doubt BBradshaw is going to have a talk with Les Miles and straighten him out. Les won't last long in La if he doesn't play by Bradshaw's rules.
Miles would say that just the same that I would say I didn't study if I failed a test.
http://auburnundercover.com/news/articles/2009/2/4/james-stays-true-to-auburn-committment
Good article about LaVoyd James. Another player I'm excited about having. You can tell he is excited about playing for Auburn.
what was LaVoyd's injury?
This says a lot about Miles and I hope it motivates Benton.
Receivers: Randle decides to stay home and sign with LSU
I think he messed up his ankle pretty badly, not sure exactly how.
Good night Hottites.
Don't let them fool you Youngpj, a campfire is where we burn all the evidence of our illegal doings related to goat farms out west.
If I was grading out class (which I am clearly am not qualified to do) I would big it a B, if I was gradin Chizik and co's job of getting said class, I'd give them an A-, the class shaped up about as well as could be expected considering what they were facing.
25th really?
Hi jhag,
I just caught a glimpse. I think it was recruiting rankings, I assume ESPN's very own. I can't think of anything else relevant right now that would have Auburn at 25th.
Yep. 25th.
Where have you been, jhag?
ESPN doesn't have Auburn in their top 25 in their recruiting rankings. They don't count juco guys or guys already enrolled according to Marshall, so their rankings aren't really accurate.
Silly peeps it was a hint of sarcasm of course were 25th according to ESPN, then again Notre Dame has been top 5 many of the last years
100 members in my "Oku to AU" group in just 2 days..hooray!
AU and Vandy were only 2 SEC schools not to sign an "ESPN 150" player.
The big boys in the conference had 8-10 each.
We just need to land the best all purpouse back in the land now..no pressure..wait dont we already have like 3 or 4 RB's signed?
We're screwed.
That's correct Mr. Doctor. Maybe next year.
Curtis Luper so far has pulled in 2 four stars and a three star and possibly David Oku..impressive with just weeks to work with
yes, but if he's all-purpose, we can plug him in at OG.
It was that damn ESPN commercial Les Miles got that brought in the attention from all the recruits!
Later im outtie thanks for everything TATE!
Good night Kathy, jhag, and our Fearless Leader
OG = Original Gangsta
Still awake, Mon?
yes i am doc habotn
you ditched me mon
I'm calling it a night. Sweet dreams all.

Nice day on the BOTN fellas. Yee haw.
Jay G, good work today. Its pretty much all meaningless to me, as I'm not talent evaluater and could care less about recruiting. I'll leave that to the trusted professionals making the big bucks.
The hype is fun to get caught up in, though. Thanks for the hype outlet.
its too cold here to spell correctly. supposed to drop below freezing in extreme south Florida tonight, folks. brrrrrrr.
http://rivals100.rivals.com/commitlist.asp
Wow we got a lot of speed! Look at the number of players with 4.4 40s, it is a lot higher than most(all?) schools.
Good Morning, Hotties! Happy Friday Eve!
Monica, I heard your sister's song in spin class yesterday. I always think of you and your dirty sister when I hear that song now.
Jet, I'd like to read that bama hate workout! Not that I need any assistance in that area, but I'm sure it's a great read!
I would also like to see Jet's hate bama workout routine. I hope it is downloadable to my iphone.
OK, you asked for it ...
JET'S HATE BAMA TO BETTER HEALTH WORKOUT!
1. "The Cadillac" -- Get on the treadmill and run 80 yards as fast as you can just like Caddy did on the first play in 2003.
2. "The Newton" -- Get a yoga mat, and dive on it twice, blocking an exercise ball each time.
3. "The Fourth and One" -- Do 12 chest presses, driving the weight forward just like the Auburn OL did for Brad Lester on the fourth down play in 2007.
4. "The Butt Kicking" -- Get on the quadricep machine ... it will follow the leg lifting motion we used to kick them all over the place in 2005.
5. "The Bo." -- Set up cones in the parking lot, run to the left cone, then back right as Bo did in 1983 for his first touchdown.
Modify and add to this workout with your own memories of Hating Bama. It's the healthy thing to do.
Luv ... I can't share with you what I sent to Monica ... it is of the highest security clearance.
Trust me, it is a document dedicated to hatin' Bama.
I just read the Scarbinsky article on Barkley. I've had some fun with Barkley, but I thought he was just a single guy out partying and messing with people. Knowing he's married with kids puts a new spin on everything. He's not just a clown, but a father, husband and son. My days of having fun with Charles' problems are over. I hope he can recover and be who his family needs him to be.
has Oku decided?
That's some good stuff there, Jetarsky.
Peter, Jay G said it would a couple weeks before Oku decided.
On the lack of OTs in this class, here's some encouragement from Andre Harris' coach (Yes, I'm desperate):
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Three players from Lovejoy signed college football scholarships on Wednesday, highlighted by offensive tackle Andre Harris, who confirmed his commitment to Auburn.
“Harris is a four-year starter that never gave up a sack,” coach Al Hughes said. “He may be one of the best offensive lineman we have had and we have had some good ones.”
Hughes said Harris was also considering Tennessee, South Carolina and Maryland.
Top of the mornin
Sounds like it'll be an Auburn-Tennessee brawl for the young Oklahoman.
Anyone worried about Syracuse's role in this?
Didn't think so.
Jet - I believe you have at least 2 and possibly 3 email addresses for me. I expect to receive the previously referenced material in at least one of those Inboxes this morning. Make it happ'n cap'n.
Why do I keep hearing about the Cuse with these big time recruits. What's going on up there?
Jay G.:
Do we have any schollies left for Mr. OKU (let alone room for another RB)?? Can't help but worry that will weigh in his decision.
Hope he comes. He appears to have all of the same positive attributes (bright, articulate, polite, mature) as Emory Blake. That kid is REALLY impressive.
Comm'r: Auburn doesn't have as many tailbacks as you may believe.
*Tate
*Fannin
*McCalebb will split time at WR
*Aycock
*E. Smith (role uncertain in my mind)
*B. Jaconbs (role uncertain)
Jay G: Good point on the number of RBs. I thought the actual numbers were greater. Since Tate is a senior next year, and Washington is likely to play another position, a good case can be made that a need remains to be filled.
Lebo watch (tick, tick, tick....)
