all looks good except for the O line
ReplyDeleteJay G, thanks for all the great updates today. I'm really excited with this class and these coaches.
ReplyDeleteand rollison qualifing would be a huge boost to this class
ReplyDeleteWe should have offered scholarships to a couple of punters.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry Mike. When Monica walks on, JGT will be by her side. Did ya know he can kick a ball 50 yds?
ReplyDeleteJay G, any reason why Dee Ford was left out of the linebackers?
ReplyDeleteAnother deep snapper could have provided more prestige, I think.
ReplyDeleteDoc...double up on Mikhail's dose of colon blow please. It's obviously not working yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks JayG...for both your hard work and providing this place to chat.
ReplyDeletethe offensive line does look a bit sparse.
ReplyDeleteJay G, listening to press conference. What did Phillip ask and Chizik say to stay tuned?
ReplyDeleteRumor has it, that durst is back with the team. I personally thought he tried to go pro early and changed his mind.
ReplyDeleteFixed the Ford omission.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Finebaum just said Les Miles ran off Benton so he could get Randle.
ReplyDeletePMarsh asked about any "additional signees."
ReplyDeleteJay G., I have been told by folks in Tallassee that Washington was recruited to Auburn to play DB.
ReplyDeleteBenton and Randle didn't want to play at the same school. They're the same kind of player and were promised the same spot at LSU.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, JGT!
ReplyDeleteSensi ... I'm pretty sure Washington will be a cornerback, but Auburn is listing him as an offensive athlete for now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he fits the mold of the Auburn DB - not a ton of size, but good closing speed.
ReplyDeleteJay - IMO you should take the rest of the week off. As the physically largest HOTTIE, and also the one in charge of security, (ask Monica) I declare this issue to occur. Anyone second? (its not like we want to be in the dark, but goodness, you work 70 hours/week, 9 days a week) I don't see how you do it.
ReplyDeleteMonica, you have mail.
ReplyDeleteThanks, once again, Jay G, for all of your hard work!
word. thanks JGT! your efforts are much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteFolks, don't listen to PF. Don't contribute to his ratings. Let all those Bama rednecks do that. PF is such a joke and slandering these kids really galls me.
ReplyDeleteLike i said
ReplyDeleteDemond washington = Jae Wilhite
minus the whole getting drafted by the patriots thing
Jet - you still here?
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed with Chizik. He talks a good game. No nonsense.
ReplyDeleteare we thinking of redshirting our 2 new QBs? Just wondering if anyone had heard anything heading into spring. Id it Kodi's job to lose?
ReplyDeletesorry, Is...
ReplyDeleteF-baum is the bane of sports radio. First time I listened to him was by accident passing through Birmingham and I just sat there thinking who does this guy think he is?
ReplyDeleteI'm giving a talk tomorrow -- couldn't make this up -- about how to cultivate online communities.
ReplyDeleteI play a role in creating ONE happy community and now people believe HABOTN-like hotness can be replicated.
I am guessing there will be a qb competition. New coaches like to do that sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteMalzahn really wanted Burns out of high school, so it's definitely his to lose.
ReplyDeleteI would actually rather listen to Skip Bayless fill-ins than Paul Finebaum. I would rather listen to Tony Kornheiser solo broadcasts of MNF than PF.
ReplyDeleteThe Finebaum quote was that Les Miles told Benton "get out".
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that's just how it went down.
One "happy" community? Do you not realize how much we hate each other?
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, if you are giving the talk in Huntsville and need a guest speaker, then I'll be there. Unless it is during working hours.
I gotta believe Moseley is a sure-fire redshirt. I'm 95% sure Rollison is either in prep school or redshirting next fall.
ReplyDeleteBarrett Trotter's career hasn't even started yet ... and you still have Burns, a surgically repaired Todd and Neil Caudle.
I don't know about LSU/Benton, but his coach was upset he didn't sign with LSU.
ReplyDeleteJGT your hard work allows me to sit here and not work...Thanks!
ReplyDeletehabotn: often imitated, never replicated.
ReplyDeleteI think Karlos Dansby needs to call Paul again.
ReplyDeletesurgically repaired... like Robocop!!?
ReplyDeleteKornheiser solo broadcasts..ouch!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you guys avoid listening to this garbage? I've tried to before, but I always feel like I have to listen to be able to defend Auburn against whatever the flame of the day is.
I asked Chizik about Benton's immediate past. I liked his answer to that one.
ReplyDeleteI'll say this knowing I could be completely wrong: Benton should be viewed with some skepticism.
From an analyst perspective, I'm more impressed with Emory Blake.
I hope Demons plays in the slot or something personally.
ReplyDeleteUnless frenchy is ready and is harry Adams alive?
more like the kid off "rookie of the Year", michael.
ReplyDeleteI really hate it for Coach Bradshaw. I'm sure this is a disappointing day for him.
ReplyDeleteJay G Tate - leaving Mont. Adver. and starting a new job as a consultant for college footballs fans, creating blogging sites. Feb. 8th- Austin, TX Feb. 12th - Los Angeles, CA Feb. 19th - South Bend, IN. Tickets: $250.00 per session.
ReplyDeleteSound good? I can create the promotional materials, free of charge, as long as I tag along on the trips.
Andrew, that's what Finebaum and his sponsors want you to do. To really defend or defeat the beast, you ignore it's very existence.
ReplyDeleteI saw PPL earlier.
ReplyDeleteHe's not 100% yet. It'll be summer.
ahhh yes, Harry Adams... our last sure thing instant help on offense recruit. Why would bring him up today?
ReplyDeleteI heard the tight end commitment (don't ask me to spell his name) on JOX this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI was very impressed with him.
You can be the bouncer, Bear.
ReplyDeleteKathy, BBradshaw lost some serious commi$$ions on the Benton non-signature. Let's pass the hat for him, shall we???
ReplyDeleteCan I be in charge of the backstage passes?
ReplyDeletehow do they calculate ratings on radio? Do people have Nielsen boxes like for TV? Or do they just do surveys?
ReplyDeleteBecause you can listen to poopbaum and still not be adding to his ratings as long as you either lie to survey takers or don't get a Nielsen box or whateva.
Did anyone see r. randle's press conference when coach bradshaw kept saying he was qualified in the 9th grade. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.
ReplyDeleteTrue..I just need to quit for good and act like that horrid studio in bammerham doesn't exist..When Al Del Greco is the best thing you've got going, you are really really struggling!
ReplyDeleteJay G,
ReplyDeleteDid you ever read the Inc article I emailed you about?
J-Z i saw on the other thread where you threatened to give Nick Saban crabs. Care to explain?
ReplyDeleteBingo, Ron Mexico. The last two years have been brutal for O-line recruiting. I do think these coaches tried to stop the bleeding, but losing out on Farms and Phillips really hurts. Two O-lineman in two years? Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteIt is good for laughs every now and then. Like this very second as they praise and praise again dry k. for staying in alabama and being such a swell dad.
ReplyDeleteRon Mexico is clearly interested in all STD passing stories.
ReplyDeleteI got a number of a good clinic
ReplyDeleteThat's just how much I hate Bama Ron...
ReplyDeleteAnd they will treat you for free in exchange for one 3 star fighting dog.
ReplyDeleteWe have our own Dr. HABOTN - ask for a prescription when he returns.
ReplyDeletedepressed,
ReplyDeletePhillips and Jermaine Johnson really hurt the most. Farms is a guard and we have those. I think we only have 2 legitimate OT's on the team in Ziemba and McCain, possibly cooper
Well, Rivals has now "elevated" the Bammer class to Number 1.
ReplyDeleteLINK
Don't care about the Bama class.... if my memory is correct, a group had them ranked #1 during this past season, and they found doo doo in a bottle for their last 2 games.
ReplyDeleteUTA # 1? geez, maybe Saban is using some of his $333,333 / month salary to pay for recru.... oops, i forgot, that is a taboo phrase to utter on a day like this.... sorry, my head is back in the sand.
ReplyDeleteRon Mexico, you hit the nail on the head. The lineman we have are almost all interior guys. For all of the complaints on Ziemba last year, there really were no better options avaliable. We are one injury away from some hard times at the tackle position. I would like to see at least four lineman signed every year, because some will be lost to injuries or grades, and some will just never pan out.
ReplyDeleteChizik admitted he pays recruits....with love!
ReplyDeleteZiemba will be fine next year. He is too big with quick feet not to bounce back. People blamed Ziemba but everybody sucked... he was just playing the toughest position on the line so he sucked a little more.
ReplyDeleteany word on richardson?
ReplyDeleteRichardson to UAT
ReplyDeleteRichardson: Bama
ReplyDeleteCameron just said on sportscall he signed with Bama.
ReplyDeleteHe pulled an Andre Smiff with the houndstooth Bahr hat.
ReplyDeleteI'm uploading a Chizik video.
ReplyDeleteShould be live by 4:30.
Maybe Auburn recruits should pull out something from the hay day at Auburn.
ReplyDeleteLike a bottle of bourbon in honor of Pat Dye.
It's been a long day of recruiting. I'm going to grab some supper now. War Eagle!!! Today, like every day, is a great day to be an Auburn Tiger!
ReplyDeleteOr put on a mesh truck stop hat that says "keep it down home cuz".
ReplyDeleteThat'd mean more to me than bahr relics.
I've been worried about the OL too, and was really disappointed Phillips didn't sign.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Cooper and Coulahan on the roster as OTs?
And if they don't work out, don't forget about this beast:
72 Andrew Parmer OL Fr-Fr 5-10 254
Comm'r, from what I have seen of Coulahan in practice, no way he can block speed rushers on the end. Ron Mexico said Cooper possibly could play tackle. AU needs to sign as many tackles as possible next year. I hope the new O-line coach is both a good coach and good recruiter. He really has his work cut out for him.
ReplyDeleteOle miss signed 37 people... really? Does someone need to read the rules to houston nutt?
ReplyDeleteI think at this point Ryan Pugh has to stay out there at RT. Put Berry at center. Isom and Eddins at guard.
ReplyDeleteI mean give McCain a shot, but he couldn't beat out pugh (or a hurt Jason Boseley) last year
Video has been posted.
ReplyDeletegotta get some help on O-line
ReplyDeleteOffensive line is a glaring omission.
ReplyDeleteO-Line: Maybe they're thinking some of our 18 scatbacks will enjoy substantial growth this Spring. HGH anyone???
ReplyDeleteExpect to see a couple of DL guys switch to OL for playing time.
ReplyDelete
