Auburn def. Tennessee, 78-58 (women)
Welcome to Alltel Arena in North Little Rock, Ark., for the SEC Tournament semifinal game between your Auburn Tigers and the Tennessee Lady Vols.
- FINAL
Auburn 78, Tennessee 58. - THIRD TO @ 7:19, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 60-45. Auburn is in complete control now. I've never seen anything like it. We're up to 12 offensive fouls now. I can't believe the calls. Over and over and over. It's making a mess of a really intriguing basketball game. - SECOND TO @ 10:26, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 51-41. The Tigers look like a different team. They're rebounding with more fervor and it seems that Tennessee is slowing down a bit. The Lady Vols are not keeping pace in transition. - FIRST TO @ 15:32, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 39-33. The Tigers have outscored Tennessee 13-2 so far this half. That's more than half what Auburn accomplished during the first 20 minutes of the game. If Smalley and Hobbs get on track -- each player has hit a bucket this half -- Auburn will be tough to stop. - HALFTIME STATS
Shooting
AUB -- 9-25 36%
TEN -- 14-34 41%

Rebounding
AUB -- 16 (7o, 9d)
TEN -- 20 (10o, 10d) - HALFTIME
Tennessee leads, 31-26. - THIRD TO @ 3:13, 1st
Tennessee leads, 27-22. Both teams are playing excellent defense. Tennessee has benefited from some good luck here lately. A blocked shot landed in Alex Fuller's hand for a freebie just a moment ago. Auburn hasn't accomplished anything meaningful on offense in several minutes. The Lady Vols are highly aggressive with their man defense right now. - SECOND TO @ 9:57, 1st
Auburn leads, 16-15. Auburn is out in transition now. Nell Fortner subbed out Boddie for ReRe Hobbs, which was a curious call. Maybe that's a defensive change? This is a fun game to watch. These teams are really going at it. - FIRST TO @ 15:54, 1st
Tennessee leads, 8-7. The Lady Vols' outstanding freshman center, Kelley Cain, is out with a knee injury. Auburn hasn't yet had many opportunities to get out in transition. When those opportunities arise, you know the Tigers will be sprinting. This is UT's third game in three days. - YOUR AUBURN STARTERS
PG -- Whitney Boddie of north Alabama (Florence)
SG -- Alli Smalley of north Alabama (Arab)
SF -- Sherell Hobbs of north Alabama (Huntsville)
PF -- DeWanna Bonner of central Alabama (Fairfield)
C -- Trevesha Jackson of eastern Alabama (Auburn)

thanks, though. I would love to contribute creative thinking where needed.
This is probably old news, but did y'all see the thing about Kiffin and Co. ripping their shirts off during their Junior day?
Kiffin did it too? I thought it was just crazy Eddie O.
The story was kind of creepy as I remember it.
Monica, I have heard of shirts being removed to impress players before, but never by male football coaches. That must have been quite the show.
It only says the assistants. I thought it was kind of odd. Maybe it's the kind of thing recruits like. What do I know.
Kiffin Trippin Again
where's Jay G?
The only disappointing part about today is that we're still only at 46 entries in the Bracket Challenge. Come on slackers... get yer butts in there!

Well, I would probably have enjoyed it, but that's just me. :-)
I'm right here, Peter.
any commentary from coaches and/or players from the ladies game coming?
Now, a pep-talk like that from Mrs Kiffin? How many scholarship papers can I sign?
Peter, I'll get to that now.
I also threw up a thread summarizing what we've all been discussing today ... ie Auburn have a great day across the athletic landscape.

that's why you're the best, Jay G.
Thanks for the good work.
Dang......I go down to Statesboro to spend the day doing father-daughter softball and take in a GSU baseball game and miss incredible AU fireworks.
Just perused the HABOTN and vicariously tasted the flavor of victory. Thanks to JGT and the Hotties for the details and enthusiasm. We were doing dinner/libations in a college bar. I saw the scores and checked here as soon as possible. Gotta go back to the libations.
War Eagle Hotties!
Correction to the information about Auburn's win ...
It was the second-worst SEC loss of Summitt's career and the worst post-season loss.
that clears things up...still hot. not as hot as Nell, or that Oklahoma coach, but still hot.
Depressed you're such a perv. ;-)
Did someone call my name? By the way Omnica, thanks to the link to the Kiffin article. He seems to have failed in his attempt to be the shortest term coach in SEC history. I think Mike Price beat him out on that one. Of course, Houston Nutt's thrown as the king of nuts may be in jeopardy.
