call ins on friday, right? I'll be bored in the car on the way to ATL. you think you can slip a fake box score in? I'll call in the South Palisades vs B. Arnold High field hockey score.
AHHH!!!
ahhhh, yourself.
ahhhh, yourself.
I was startled by the alert. No need to make fun of me.
jeez jay g, arent we the snob today with your secret chat spot and all....I dont wanna come anyway...j/k
I'm stuck on Calle Ocho. I feel very American.
Be there or be rectangular.
if I were a shape, I'd be a rectangle
I know why you are having a camp fire. Lost isn't on tonight and you have no clue how to deal with this large hole on you heart/tv schedule.
If I were a shape I'd be a throwing star
oooh, that's a good one.I want to add spikes to my rectangle to make it more dangerous.
#15 Campfire Alert!!!!!

Sweeet....nice call on the Muschamp thingymajig.
I mean that in the best of ways
Campfire....Did somebody say Campfire?????
I'm rectangular. Too late for me.
I would be a trapezoid ... or maybe serpintine.
One can enjoy a wood fire worthily only when he warms his thoughts by it as well as his hands and feet. ~Odell Shepherd
Thanks for your steadfast support, Chris.
You're now off my Facebook friends list.
Just kidding.
i've been detained recently -- just had a baby girl.
I'll facebook-you some pics.
I am a parallelogram.
You're just obtuse enough, Jetarsky.
I also want to throw out a huge WTF for the SEC.
Little Rock and Tampa in the same season. Congratulations, Mike Slive, you just failed in your attempt to maintain financial relevance. Enjoy those empty arenas.
Obtuse? Obtuse!
Thirty days in the hole!

9:00 CT. Dang, that's like 2 AM for me from my remote Atlantic island.
I wish chatroll had a mobile edition
Auburn Baseball scored 11 runs in the first two innings in their 11-7 victory over Western Kentucky tonight.
3 more homers.
Ding dongs!
MJT is leading the nation in home runs of love.
You're the only thing that matters.
the other team also had a couple of dang dongs.
Just a couple late night thoughts before calling it a night.
Look at how few and far between the posts were last winter in the link posted, the blog has come a LONG way in a year.
Jay, at least Tampa is a place people like to come for vacation. If your a hoops fan it could be somewhere you want to come see some games played and make it a vacation as well. Little Rock? Really? What was the thought process behind that?
Sorry I missed the chat. I've got a dissertation defense tomorrow morning. Wish me luck...
Remember Wes: the best defense is a good offense. Be sure to challenge the board's intellect at every opportunity.
Baseball team record anyone? 9 in a row?
11-4, jhag.

Dang! I forgot about the campfire. Crap. You know, a twitter alert would be cool, O Fearless Leader.
I have to say, reading though the campfire archive, that there were some disturbing things being talked about early...I'm sure if I keep reading, I'll find that it continued throughout.
Morning Hotties - working for the man and his expectations have kept me from the fray here a bit this week and most of next week too. Just plain exhausted kept me from the campfire. Dang. I suck.
Wes - good luck, I'm not really sure you should take Michael's approach in this particular case. In virtually everything else though I'd agree with Michael.
Good morning, Hotties! We made over the Hump!
Where the heck has TarHeel/Dr. Habotn been? I know last week he was looking for an apartment for his daughter, but what about this week?
A good morning to you all!!!
It's too bad I was not able to have my heart cockles warmed at the campfire last night. It sure sounded like fun.
Good morning Hotties only 24 hours from the weekend. I was able to stop by for the pre-party but the 10 P.M. start is just too late for my and my eastern time self. Where has the morning crew gone?
I made a brief appearance ... had a S'more ... then left ... they were well warmed by the heat of the fire, I would say.
Seanzie, I'm here!
I can't do campfires (I esp. couldn't do it last night 'cause I'm in bed at 9:00) because there's too many people all trying to talk at once. It's too confusing! Sounds like they ran the gamut of topics, though!
sorry i missed it. i just couldn't stay up last nite when i got home. sad times man. sad times.
on another note, how about our baseball Tigers? they've won what, 10, 11 games in a row now? not too bad. the weather up here in Knoxville is NOT looking good to host baseball this weekend. highs in the low 50's & 70% chance of rain. hopefully they can get them in.
I went to bed with a headche, and woke up without one. It's a miracle!
I always miss the fun!!! Son had 2 baseball practices last night..
Good morning Hot ones - not only is the weekend only a day and a half away - SPRING BREAK is only a day and a half away.
Dang it, I missed another one! Sorry hotties! Much love tho!
JG, I want to second your WTF on the location of the two tourneys. Who made this call and what was behind it? I am 102% sure it was financially driven. The closest school to Tampa is UF and it is still a good 2 hrs away. No other school is anywhere near.
Here's a few mileages from SEC schools to Tampa:
Arkansas - 1,152
Kentucky - 837
Ole Miss - 784
LSU - 710
Tennessee - 667
Auburn -
Auburn - 450
It's just silly.
I'm sure the SEC made these decisions based on cash money, the guaranteed-money deals local groups forge with the league, but this is the year it falls apart.
Attendance in Little Rock was horrible. I anticipate weak numbers in Tampa and the SEC has to look in the mirror for answers.
So how bad does attendance have to be at a women's basketball tournament to be considered "horrible"? Was it just family members and media there, and maybe a elementary school class that got free tickets?
Well, women's tournaments in Nashville generally draw pretty well. Vanderbilt and Tennessee generally play well there and, in turn, their fans show love.
You go to Little Rock, Arkansas sucks, Arkansas loses in the first round ... and it devolves from there.
What if they held the tournament at the A-Rack on Adams Avenue/Mt. Meigs Road and Hall Street by Houston Hill Junior High?
Make the coaches stay away.
Morning HOTTIES!!!
Long Time no Chat, I've been busy trying to get "Stimulated"!!!!!
But I'm back in the Saddle now moving forward on 3 new projects!!!
Yeah for Economic Growth!!
Jay G.,
Perhaps I'm just stupid, but why not try some more centrally located places in the SEC, N.O., Atlanta, Charlotte, Memphis, Nashville, even Freakn dumpy Bammerham!!!
It's nice to see you again, Mobilz.

Freakn dumpy Bammerham!!!
HEY! You happen to talking about the city in which I reside (well, I'm in the 'burbs) and it's not that bad!
to *be* talking about
damn typos
Tray Blackmon is a Law and Order fan?
Just talked with Luke Hargrove from Tampa. Explained to him than I'm not down there because I'm broke, the newspaper's broke.
He cut me off.
"Don't worry about that. I'm not hatin' on you. You've got me on the phone now, so it's all the same."
I thank him at the end.
"No problemo. Stash that cash."
Sen and Tray allegedly watched a lot of L & O back in the day.
Lucas Hargrove = Tomorrow's Jim Cramer
Luv,
Didn't mean the entire bammerham, just the BJCC....
I guess i should have clarified that huh?
The SEC needs to make a statement with their tourney locations, and the statement should be that it "feels our pain" and is "down" with the little guy and the times. Enough of this regional burgeois bias!
Next year, the choices should be Detroit and Stockton, the two most miserable cities in the US (according to Forbes). Come on Slive & Co., show us you got a pair!
"Detroit in the top spot, with its sister city Flint ranked third, is probably not a great shock. "If Detroit were a baseball team, we'd say they are mired in a slump," says Sperling....
Crime and unemployment are closely linked, according to Sperling. Our three most miserable places bear that out (Stockton, Calif., ranks second). All three are among the eight worst cities in terms of both unemployment and violent crime."

Thanks, Mobilz! :-)
I never... ever want to disappoint you Luv, as you are one of my favorite HOTTIES that post here!!!
I know if the Women's Tourney had been closer, I'd have been there for the whole thing. But, I've driven to Arkansas for a football game and it's a very, very long drive.
You're right, though, Mobilz - the BJCC is a dump.
One of your favorites? Really? Thanks!! :-)
It's not the BJCC that's so bad -- it's the parking (lack of), surrounding neighborhood, lack of restaurants/hotels around it....once you're in the building its a nice facility (for basketball at least)
The women's tournament ought to be played in Nashville, Knoxville or Chattanooga every year until it proves it can sustain itself elsewhere. There are two programs that significantly support women's hoops, and they are in Tennessee.
As for the men, I am glad it's not in the Dome every year, but I understand the transportation/logistical convenience of the Dome.
Tampa, which paid for this, is clearly too far away. It's 150 miles from the southern most school in the league. In terms of access and logstics, the rotation of Nashville, ATL, New Orleans makes sense. Nowhere else does.
There's a reason the Big East Tournament is held in MSG every year!!!
Location.... location....location!!!!
Good morning hotties enjoyed my first campfire chat. I don't know which is worse too slow typing or too slow thinking. Both get you in trouble in a chat room or campfire side. It was fun reading most of it. The SEC gets started todnight and I hope Fla. wins. Don't pull for the gatorhaters often.

And how does ol' Langford think the city is going to be able to support a dome???
digger, why FL? Wouldn't Auburn have a better chance against Arkansas?
I don't understand New Orleans, honestly, in the "make it central". Its not quite as inconvenient as Tampa, but it's not exactly central. A long drive from the entire east division, and not a short drive from most of the west.
If the argument is, "We just love New Orleans", that's different.
...and yes, I realize that, compared to Tampa and Little Rock, it's a shorter trip, but that doesn't make it close to everything.
I think Tampa could be a good destination. Big SEC fanbase in Florida in general. It's a good time of year to travel there. Lots to do away from the arena. Good beaches. It just needs to be marketed. I don't see a lot of marketing in SEC events, though, they are just expected to sell themselves.
Luv,
that guy has the mind of a Micheal Steele.... he is allover the place.... "If you Build it they will come"
Auburn needs quality wins, Luv.
ah, I see...thanks, Cap'n!
The SEC tourney should be held in Rupp every year. That's the only place that consistently sells out games in the SEC.
Luv, a win over Fl looks much better on our tourney resume then a win over Arkansas.
Purely selfish, I hope AR beats UF.
A) I hate UF.
B) It'll bring black market ticket prices for session 4 down to about 20 bucks.
ROF Nominee all up in this bitch. Respect, yo.
Yes we definitely need Florida to win to have a shot at making the tournament, on the flip side, if Arky wins the road to the title and an automatic bid are that much closer. Just win.
Luv, I had to leave for a while but you got the answer from several others. We need to play and win against the better rated team.
Hate i missed the fire but a new sushi place was calling mine and the wifeys name. It was awesome, though, had a war eagle roll, tuna cream cheese and grilled jalapenos, i tried it, it was tasty.
War Eagle Roll sounds awesome.
Joaquin Pheonix continues his strangeness. Dude jumped into crowd to tangle with a heckler.
This is going to make a great movie.
The SEC women's tournament was held here in Greenville a couple of years ago. I didn't understand then or now. The folks from USC and Columbia don't seem to do much in basketball.
Knoxville is only 4 hours away but still... the rest of the schools had significant driving to do.
Besides Marks, who has a legit chance of being drafted? I see a bunch of free agents on the list.

Tampa Awarded SEC Tourney in 2004
Is it safe to assume the St. Pete Times is NOT a Gannett paper considering they can still afford sponsorship of the St Pete Times Forum?
The only ending to J. Phoenix's life is untimely death. This will happen.
Tampa Trib is not going to make it past 2010. St. Pete will win that two-newspaper battle.
More reasons the tourney is in Tampa
Wifey at Campfire = much fun
Hope she joins more often.

That crowd looks sparse ... and this is Kentucky.
What network is covering it, Jay G?
Speakingof Sparse Crowds. (ACC in Atlanta)
I believe it's Raycom Peter F.
War Eagle
I hate Bama
You can go to SEC Sports to get audio. I tried to link it, but they're site is always a little screwy and it won't let me.
I meant "their", poor grammar.
Big East, Big 10, CUSA, ACC, SEC all being televised right now...crazy!
ehyou, I found it. Raycom via SunSports in Florida.
Rip it up Jay G, Rip it up.
May just be camera angles, but it looks like there's a TON more people in Tampa than Atlanta.
Michael,
How would one get in touch with you?
This is a test of the HATE BAMA Warning System. This is only a test.
Had this been an actual warning, it would have followed with vitriol, invective, and other rhetoric aimed at UAT.
This has been a test of the HATE BAMA Warning System. Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
vitriol and invective are smokin' hot words!
nice, Jet

ACC attendance will definitely pick up when its not VT and Miami playing
SEC will NOT pickup when Kentucky isn't playing tonight
Monica, you have mail.

Captain - "stallion"? Really?
Scottie - You have my response.
Jet is bombastic and boisterous. Though I do like his UAT hate.
Mon - how're those vocabulary words?
Bama is dumb and icky. I don't need fancy words to convey that.
GAT - bombastic is pretty hot though it does have some baggage..

Monica, your link made me laugh. I'll have to play that for my 6 yr old tonight, she's a big fan.
My voracious verbosity tends to instigate and propigate castigation.

Jet -

Hate for Bama in the other.

GaTiger, I'm just Wordly Wise.
Jet, i can't understand a word that you're saying, but i know exactly what you mean........ HATE BAMA!
I posted a new thread ... looking back on Brad Lester's performance at Pro Day.
