Prelude to a Championship

Hey everyone. I'm already on the scene from the SEC Tournament Final Showdown between Vanderbilt and your Auburn Tigers.

I wouldn't say there's much buzz in the arena. I counted 29 fans at 5:30 p.m.

AUBURN (29-2) vs. VANDERBILT (23-8)
*Vanderbilt has won 14 consecutive games in this series dating back to the 2001 season.

  4. 29 fans and they are probably asleep. Why hold the SEC Tournament in Little Rock Arkansas? Unless you live there on near by NOBODY wants to go there to watch a game. I think next year they should hold it in Toronto and get more fans.

  5. Lets get one more lady tigers!! Maybe we'll do good enough to be number 2 overall and be in the bracket opposite UCONN..Doubt it, but that'd be nice!

Jay, You've done a hell of a great job covering this tournament! Enjoyed it muchly!

  6. So Jay do you think the men will make the ncaa tourny?

  7. This is the second time Little Rock has hosted this event. I guess it was a smashing success the first time ...

  8. AllenP, I'm just not sure.

Winning all those games sure seems like a deal-maker. Then again, the team's (projected) RPI is 62. That's not very good. It'll be close.

Beating Florida in Tampa next week will be tough.

  9. Yeah no doubt Florida will be tough because they are still trying to make their own case to get in.

  10. Jay--what are the possibilities of a let down tonight after such a big 2nd half and win last night?

  11. I don't think the possibility of a letdown exists.

The possibility to Vanderbilt winning, though, is very real. Fourteen in a row!

  17. The girls finally make it to ESPN2 and it looks like the ladies from Ohio State and Purdue might go to overtime. Please Lord don't let this happen! I want to see AU and I just can't watch this any longer.

  18. BTW, Auburn would lambaste either of these teams!
