A couple items of business:

I like to be forthright with the HABOTN Nation about what I'm covering. If a tough decision has to be made, I do my best to explain it here.
I'm planning to live blog the game from Montgomery. Lame on my part? You betcha. Still, I think the team deserves coverage and I'll do what I can to make that happen.

Skyhawks guard Lester Hudson is second in the nation in scoring. He averages 27 points per game. He once notched a quadruple-double -- 25 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals. I'm not sure his team has enough to challenge Auburn, but Hudson should cause some fits.
Hudson is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard. He is a 24-year-old junior. He struggled with the transition from high school to college, you might say, but eventually earned a GED and made his way to college. Good for him.
FOOTBALL REMINDER: Spring practice begins Tuesday, March 24.
KORVOTNEY BARBER!
ReplyDeleteBarber shop.
ReplyDeletebada boom!
ReplyDeleteBada bing!
ReplyDeleteJay G, you really don't have to give us an explanation about why you can't attend an event. But, since you did, I, for one, completely understand. Just the flight alone was probably several hundred dollars. I really appreciate all you do. This is where I get all my Auburn info.!
ReplyDeleteFYI: If Auburn wins tonight, it'll play the Tulsa-Northwestern winner on Friday night.
ReplyDeleteThat game would be played at BEMC.
I sure wish I could see the game tonight on TV.
ReplyDeleteWDE and just win baby!! Both Auburn men and women.
ReplyDeleteHope the long layoff doesn't hurt the teams. sometimes it does and sometimes is doesn't.
Me too, ehyou.
ReplyDeleteLester Hudson's game and mine are very similar. Our arms look alike too.
ReplyDeleteI have a quick third step.
ReplyDeleteMy arms come out of my shoulder and hang down my side too. I must be a super star!
ReplyDeleteJust do whatever auburn bball so I can put my mind on Football and focus on spring
ReplyDeletedigger, you said that just like Mary Katherine, right?
ReplyDeleteToo funny Kuv
ReplyDeleteDang a "k" looks like and "L" to some people
ReplyDeleteNo TV should equal a crowded and active HABOTN tonight. Should be fun.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Luv.....no explanations/apologies necessary.
ReplyDeleteMany segments of the nation are trimming costs and Americans are learning to not be so spoiled.
We look forward to whatever you can do and 'precciate it.
Why does ESPN always broadcast nationally? Why can't they broadcast regionally like CBS?
ReplyDeleteYay I got my first follow me on twitted text today
ReplyDeletejhag, follow me on Twitter, too! GibberishFeed is the name.
ReplyDeleteShould AU win tonight, will the Friday night game be on TV?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to shaking off the cobwebs of the red eye back from San Diego to go to Beard Eaves tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe new arena is needed badly to replace The Dump. I can understand how, from afar, it looks like a bad investment in something no one cares about. It will attract not only BB recruits but can be used as a staging area for football recruiting and functions too. The thing AU needed most is the new dorms and academic and weight facilities for everyone. That is even more important than where they play the game. Andre Smith remarked how Bama's new "oversized" dorms were very appealing and now the NFL and everyone else knows why since his waist size has expanded a good bit.
ReplyDeleteJet- I will be there tonight. Row 1 behind the visitors bench. give me a shout if security lets you down there.
ReplyDeleteJay-Will it be a tough sell to give the new UAT coach $2 mil a year in this economy?
ReplyDeleteYou think it will be Anderson? PF yesterday talked with CM newton and they made it out like Izzou was the man.
What have you heard?
UGA released top tier LB Dexter Moody. What's the rule on other schools going after him? Does anyone know if AU showed any interest in him?
ReplyDeleteChip Towers' article on his release is here if anyone is interested.
Jay G. Sorry the trip didn't work out for you. :-(
ReplyDeletenot sure I would take a chance on the Moody kid w/o knowing more info. He had to do something, ornot do something he was asked to do, for UGA to let him go.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was his controversial view on puppets that lost him his scholarship.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, maybe it was something else, michael.
ReplyDeleteSo Jay G, when are you going to let Tim post again?
ReplyDeleteHey Hotties!! Jay do you know if CGC will have open practices? I
ReplyDeleteAll these questions and no answers. I believe J followed Elvis out of the building. J has left the building.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe Jay is just trying to teach us that many times, we have our own answers, Digger. That's pretty deep.
ReplyDeleteYeah pretty deep for an old shallow mind. He may just be sitting back and having a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteIt's like they say: give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteFeed a man to a fish, and he will die.
ReplyDeleteMichael...Rumor has it Dexter Moody voiced his opinon on the BC coaching sit too loudly. Puppet opinion was just how Moody spun it. Moody's move was predictable....everyone hate puppets.
ReplyDeleteActually according to the in state rumors, Mr. Moody has wreaked havoc more than once. CMR considers it a mission to give kids a chance. Must be something baaaaaaaaad!
True statement and did you ever think about:
ReplyDeleteHappiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open.
do termites ever choke on splinters?
ReplyDeleteNo but they sure do hurt coming out the other end
ReplyDeleteMicheal, only if its a big fish, lets be honest I've never seen a trout eat a full grown man (especially not if he's 40). And I've been nibbled on by some small fish, and I've never died.
ReplyDelete10-4 hotties got to check out for a while
ReplyDeletehttp://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/andy_staples/03/18/bryce-brown/index.html#?eref=T1
ReplyDeleteInterview with Bryce Brown on why he picked Tenn and everything else.
Also check out the LB at the bottom, we need to send super duper trooper luper to go get him.
Jay G, in describing UT-Martin's best player, what you should have said was, "in other words, he is your typical OVC star." Fly Williams, Turk Tillman, Tommie Baker, the list could go on and on till the break o' dawn. The OVC has long been a refuge for players like that 24 year old juniors other other outlaws, not saying that this guy is an outlaw, but you know what I am trying to say.
ReplyDeleteStill, having said that, the OVC is still head and shoulders better than the SWAC and MEAC, and better than the Atlantic Sun. Samford's run of NCAA tourney appearances ground to a halt when they got into the OVC and Jimmy Tillette had to actually coach.
I am sure this has been asked already but...Will there be an internet stream available for the AU game tonight?
ReplyDeletejhag is obviously spinning some classic Beck albums this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteJay, thanks for making this a multi-topic thread with the football blurb at the bottom. All you HOTTIES need not worry about my emotional state on this one. ;)
ReplyDeleteWartiger, all evidence points to "no" on the video stream. If you're one of the lucky ones who gets ESPN360 you may be in luck though.
ReplyDeleteWow Ole Miss just finalized their sched. and they have two D-1AA teams SE LA and Northern Arizona...Pete Boone is slacking
ReplyDeleteWTC -- I think Kentucky will have first dibs on Izzo if it comes to that. They're in a much better position to hire people ... more money, more facilities, more "support" (provided you win).
ReplyDelete"We didn't intend to schedule two I-AA teams nor do we anticipate scheduling two I-AA teams in the same year again," Ole Miss athletic director Pete Boone said.
ReplyDeleteYOU scheduled them, what do you mean that you didn't intend to???
and I'm not one of the lucky ones..radio it is then...thanks...
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to The Gibberish Feed and it's a mind-scramblah (spoken like Kelly LeBrock).
ReplyDeletewartiger ... don't know about radio streams. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteDan Issel was before my time, but he must have been something else. Meeks had a phenomenal season and ended up with 817 pts. That's second best to Issel's 948 in '70.
ReplyDeleteit's not gonna be on the radio?!
ReplyDeleteor did the word "streams" just mean you don't know what site will be streaming the game...yeah that makes sense...
ReplyDeleteit really flippin sucks that I'm not gonna be able to watch this game...sigh..ok better now...
ReplyDeleteHere is a list of all AU BB radio affiliates. Some of them stream online. Some of the ones that stream "black out" games, but some do not. A persistent fan should be able to trial & error their way to an audio of the game.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that Auburn's games should be televised from here on out.
ReplyDeletethanks ehyoutiger...I am persistent...
ReplyDeleteI am now also following GibberishFeed! YAY!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at this quote from GWB yesterday:
ReplyDelete"I actually paid for a house last fall," he told the crowd. "I think I'm the only American to have bought a house in the fall of 2008."
What a man
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that I'm gonna regret this but.....I signed up to follow GibberishFeed too.
ReplyDeleteMikl, there better be some damn entertaining gibberish coming down the pipe!!!!!
Who better to provide gibberish?
ReplyDeleteMichael is dedicated to his craft.
None of you will be disappointed with GibberishFeed. Well, unless you find incoherent typing disappointing. Yes, then there is a definite possibility GibberishFeed will disappoint you on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteAuburn's a 12 pt favorite tonight. That's pretty stout.
ReplyDeleteIt is UT-Martin and as Lebo has clarified many times, Auburn won 11 SEC games this season.
ReplyDeleteAren't you impressed?
I think the old adage that any team can win on any given night is truer in college BB than any other sport.
ReplyDelete150 minutes to tipoff!
ReplyDeleteYou psychology grads out there might get a kick out of this headline:
ReplyDelete"JUNG, ROGERS NAMED ALABAMA NOMINEES FOR McWHORTER POST-GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP"
... B.F. Skinner reportedly upset by the snub.
Jay - I'm a psych undergrad. I recognize the name Jung but don't really get your witticism.
ReplyDeletethis just in; scored tickets to see eric clapton and steve winwood in phoenix. gotta be a good show.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was funny.
ReplyDeleteOf course, my car tag in college was "JUNG 1" as an homage to my main man, Carl Jung.
Auburn up 13-1 over Charleston Southern, top of the 8th. Big difference in last night's game.
ReplyDeleteJay is Jung like a horse.
ReplyDeletenever much of a "jungun", myself. (was that a freudian slip?)
ReplyDeleteIn my hierarchy of needs, National Championships are No. 1, Beating UAT No. 2, Good food 3rd, and Puppet Hour fourth.
ReplyDeleteI hope the game is on at Wintzel's.
ReplyDeleteIt's grandma's birthday dinner tonight.
GO TIGERS!!!!
That Cerch Irving Myers is da rocks!

ReplyDeleteBe sure to set the Delorean to 1973....
bhb, i dunna know for sure, but i'm thinkin' the blues are kinda timeless, myself.
ReplyDeleteyeah, I'm jus kiddin.....Man, I wish I had gone to the Clapton/Stevie Ray Vaghn show in B'ham that went down jus before SRV died.
ReplyDeletePlayed Boutwell I think.
I saw the Clapton/Winwood gig on HDTV Paladia - before it went off the air -- and Winwood still has the pipes.
I'm trying to fill out my bracket - and it is giving me a headache!
ReplyDeleteThe energy outside of Beard Eaves is ... solar. Unfortunately, the sun is setting.
ReplyDeleteIm going job hunting haha
ReplyDeletebhb, that would have been a show, for sure. 1973 and me = no money.
ReplyDelete
