Have y'all seen the headlines on Fox News about whether it is right to pay college coaches millions of dollars when states are taking bailout money and colleges are raising tuition?
Posters on al.com (who are very weird I must say) were complaining that Auburn has raised their ticket prices after a rotten year. They didn't raise the prices, we have 8 games instead of 7.
Try as I might not to, it is very difficult not to get excited about Auburn football when watching the videos you post and reading the comments by the different players.
Don't those people know how to have video conferences, etc??? That's a lot of wasted time and gas for a 2 hour meeting. I used to hate that kind of stuff.
Cincy, what is the packet price this year. It looks like even though the ticket site is open online, the ticket office mailed the order forms out yesterday.
Each ticket is $395. Last year it was $350 for 7 games. The only thing that gripes me is last year the handling charge was $5 if you ordered online. This year it is $25! Not sure why the increase.
Looked to me that Shoemaker was not disappointed in being the back up. When asked did it hurt to sit the bench, did he say 'at first'? I thought he was going to follow up with, but I got used to it and it is OK. I played a long time ago, but sitting on the bench was not OK. No one should ever be happy with that, but expecially if you were a starter.
I'm taking off Friday as well but then see where my assistant added a meeting at 8:30am. I think she is going to run that one herself. Not sure I can make it, but holler at me and I will see.
I heard through the grape vine that a week from this saturday they are having a FCA appreciation banquet. This includes meeting the assistant coaches and watching practice at the stadium.
Good morning, Hotties! We made it! I was late this morning, so I didn't have time to read this new thread, but I did watch the video. Great stuff, as usual. Why was Ryan Shoemaker saying "your" instead of "my"? I don't know why, but I found that strange.
morning...great vid Jay..I know we tell you but I man I sure do appreciate the work Jay..really man thanks...
I notice there has been alot of talk about first post and notable new comers and the like so let me just say that I am very honored to hold the position of feeling the heat...thing is I have been sitting in there for almost a year..I think it's time to step my game up so Hotties get ready to start seeing much more of wartiger in the future...it's time to feel the heat baby...have a good day Hotties..
Morning Hotties - it's Friday and perhaps more importantly to some, it's a no pants installment of Friday. As I have to attend a 2.5 hour meeting attended by all the executives, I elected to wear pants today.
Jet, J-Z, Miller or wtc - what time does the King close on Friday's, specifically next Friday? I should be driving through the gump in the mid-afternoon timeframe and could easily see myself making that quick run off of 85.
J-Z, Miller and wtc, I hope you enjoy your lunches. Make Jet sit at a separate table from you and don't include him in your conversations. Make it obvious that you're talking about him and then laugh loudly.
Jet - thanks for the update and the kind offer. Though I don't believe I'll be able to make that time. I'll be spending next week searching for Tom Tuttle again and will be landing at ATL supposedly at 1:42 Eastern on Friday then immediately heading towards P'vegas to grab my daughter for some family time.
Congrats Seanzie!! Glad it's Friday, but I sure do wish it weren't 50 degress and rainy here. I thought I heard them say we might expect some flurries next week here in Atlanta. It's April, time for 80 degree weather, daylit rain showers and an A Day game, not snow.
I'm really diggin the bowchicka bowwow music Mr Jay G Tate is tacking on to the videos.
Jet - if I can work it out in the future, I'll extend an invitation to the King and pick it up. Just yours, not any other gumpians who may wind up attending. Okay, if I work it out and we arrange said King lunch, any gumpian I've known for more than 25 years I'll absolutely buy your lunch that day. Anything outside of that is subject to my whim and fancy at that time.
Morning gang, I've heard the spread punt is like the I can't believe it's not butter formation, in that, it looks like a punt, acts like a punt but it's just got nothing else to it.
I've also heard, like margarine, the real thing ends up being better for you anyway. Just saying.
Question for the group, is anyone having trouble with the earlier videos that Jay had made that are now on the gannett site (The 3/30 and 3/31 practices)? I'm trying to figure out if it's my machine or if their site's messed up.
Said on the floor of the Alabama Senate yesterday by the sluggin' Senator, Charles Bishop of Walker County, during a debate on a smoking prohibition bill.
"When someone can't smoke or have sex in their private office, we're in bad shape."
I hate it when he does that..Peter, deleting I mean. I could care less if he has sex and smokes in a privately or publicly owned office as long as it is not mine.
Lebo would be wise to consider hiring Phillip Pearson to be an assistant coach ... good recruiter ... clearly got more out of his players than Gottfried did.
I would be for the Philip Pearson hire... good thinking, jet.
Sorry I missed out on all the Hamburger King talk last night. My contact info is on my Facebook page... I think. If it isn't, let me know. Mon, that doesn't mean you can start calling me and breathing heavy into the phone... I do have caller ID.
I'll see if I can get some slow time today and play around with some personas. If I come up with anything I'll let you know. And if someone else gets to it, let me know. I've got Auburn on everything else in this UGA heavy office
I used to go something called River Stages in Nashville, I've also been to Music Midtown here in Atlanta. I've been to the Crawfish Boil in Birmingham, but I've never heard of City Stages?
FIRST!
ReplyDeleteNo Drops!
ReplyDelete...crickets...
ReplyDeleteI knew the opportunity was going to be there for you, Seanzie.
ReplyDeleteGlad you took command.
What can I say, I'm an opportunist. Great vid Jay, I appreciate your efforts.
ReplyDeleteSeanzie, you should be at least in the Notable Newcomers section by now.
ReplyDeleteI'll make that addition now.
Thanks, Jay...with that I'll retire. Everyone have a good night!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the club.
ReplyDelete7 just checking in since I have been out of town all day....thanks for working late Jay!
ReplyDeleteHave y'all seen the headlines on Fox News about whether it is right to pay college coaches millions of dollars when states are taking bailout money and colleges are raising tuition?
ReplyDeleteCincy: Sounds like stories created by writers who are jealous of John Calipari.
ReplyDeleteWEG: Thanks!
Posters on al.com (who are very weird I must say) were complaining that Auburn has raised their ticket prices after a rotten year. They didn't raise the prices, we have 8 games instead of 7.

ReplyDeleteis chandler brooks from auburn city?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
ReplyDelete(I'm headed home. Take care, HOTTIES.)
Chandler, it should be pointed out, is from Huntsville.
ReplyDeleteHis stepfather was an Auburn walk-on in the early 1990s. James Brooks. Not that James Brooks.
You can read all about it in my Friday morning story!
okay...thanks...i am still getting the paper so far!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Seanzie! I've always thought you were notable.
ReplyDeleteI love it when your fandom hangs out, Jay G. It makes you seem all human and stuff.
Chandler Brooks - I like him.
Shoemaker looks super duper comfortable being interviewed. :-)
I love hearing from McFadden.
Thanks JGT - great job
Goodnight Hotties....long ride to Florence and back today! Keep dry and War Eagle!
ReplyDeleteWEG,
ReplyDeleteWhat did you go to Florence for today? That is where I grew up.
had a meeting at UNA for designers- 2 hours and then back!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Seanzie! Let that be a lesson to all you lurkers out there, "you cant make the club in the tub baby!"
ReplyDeleteDon't those people know how to have video conferences, etc??? That's a lot of wasted time and gas for a 2 hour meeting. I used to hate that kind of stuff.

ReplyDeletenice work JG. just catching up from early this afternoon. nite nite.
ReplyDeleteSWEEEEEET
ReplyDeleteDid it seem to anyone else that Shoemaker was about to cry?
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the party ... ElTurbo had to steal the laptop for the evening.
ReplyDeletePesky school.
Looked to me that Shoemaker was not disappointed in being the back up.
ReplyDeleteWhen asked did it hurt to sit the bench, did he say 'at first'? I thought he was going to follow up with, but I got used to it and it is OK.
I played a long time ago, but sitting on the bench was not OK. No one should ever be happy with that, but expecially if you were a starter.
I don't think so. I think he just looked painfully uncomfortable in the spotlight.
ReplyDeleteJet - Get your priorities straight.
Jet,
ReplyDeleteThe Relay for Life site should be fixed now. They were doing some updates to the site.
Come on jet, school is almost over. Give him a break. They won't take that ACT score away.
ReplyDeleteBTW-you need to call me for a lunch at Hamburger King or Zoe's.
I am actually looking through the archives the week ... rumor that ElTurbo posted under a nom de guerre that I haven't deciphered.
ReplyDeleteHamburger King or Zoe's?
That's like saying ... Jenna Fischer or Phyllis Diller?
Hamburger King is better.
ReplyDeleteHamburger King
ReplyDeleteand Jenna
You really had to ask that? I'm disappointed.
I think that was a rhetorical question.
ReplyDeleteDmiller, did you catch my answer about the ACAC?
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough of the Hamburger Kind discussion.
ReplyDeleteI used to know a girl who was the hamburger kind.
ReplyDeleteI don't even know what that means.
ReplyDeleteIf we go to Hamburger King I will have to get some Lipitor first.
ReplyDeleteGo to bed, ElTurbo.
ReplyDeletegimme a g!
ReplyDeleteIs it 34?
ReplyDeleteG!
ReplyDeleteI did, I did...
ReplyDeleteI am in severe need of the King.
ReplyDeleteHA it's 34!
ReplyDeleteWTC - After all the Conecuh you've eaten one lil ole hamburger won't hurt.
Lunch at the King tomorrow?
ReplyDeletey'all make me feel so left out
ReplyDelete:-(
I am considering taking tomorrow off to do a little work here at the Hangar.
ReplyDeleteWTC, DMiller ... we can communicate about such. Oh, you, too, JZ.
Or we could wait until DMiller pays me for my UConn over UNC victory in the HABOTN Bracket Challenge
Not sure, Monica ... I think he's lurking.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking off Friday as well but then see where my assistant added a meeting at 8:30am. I think she is going to run that one herself. Not sure I can make it, but holler at me and I will see.
ReplyDeleteWould be great to meet Dmiller and JZ.
WTC has an assistant.
ReplyDeleteWTC, Dmiller, JZ
ReplyDeleteSend me your best Friday a.m. contact info to my facebook.
We'll try to coordinate.
MOnica ...
ReplyDeleteWe'll take pictures.
Jet-done
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jet.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight hotties.
Goodnight Monica! Remember, "no drops!"
ReplyDeleteLater guys. Got a little paperwork to finish.
ReplyDeleteAdios, HOTTIEMIGOS.
ReplyDeleteEverybody does remember that tomorrow is Pants Free Friday, right?
ReplyDeleteI have homework to do, but I'm procrastinating right now.
ReplyDeleteAnyone ever hear of the FCA program that Auburn football runs?
I think I would get fired if I go to work "Pants-Free." I'll give it a shot anyway.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Shesaid...it's a federally mandated thing. I think.
ReplyDeleteYoung PJ,
ReplyDeleteYes.
shesaid,
ReplyDeleteI think you can interpret pants-free to mean kilt-allowed or skirt-encouraged as well.
I hope to be a Notable Newcomer someday...hopefully I haven't passed the newcomer time frame yet.
ReplyDeleteJ-z,
ReplyDeleteI heard through the grape vine that a week from this saturday they are having a FCA appreciation banquet. This includes meeting the assistant coaches and watching practice at the stadium.
I'm hoping I can go to that
Is the corporate sponsor the money that you could be saving with Geico?
ReplyDeleteHopefully it's not a hometown sponsor like Flea Market Montgomery or Chip Ellis Title Loams!
That would be cool. Didn't you say you play a club level sport?
ReplyDeleteIt's just like, It's just like, an Auburn blog.
ReplyDeleteOh Yeah!
ReplyDeleteGood Friday, Hotties!
ReplyDeleteTime for the No Pants Dance!
Goo morning hotties! I didn't know morning came this early! Off to take hubby for his "welcome to 50" procedure. :)
ReplyDeleteSo early, I can't even spell - good morning
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Hotties! We made it! I was late this morning, so I didn't have time to read this new thread, but I did watch the video. Great stuff, as usual. Why was Ryan Shoemaker saying "your" instead of "my"? I don't know why, but I found that strange.

Goo morning to you too, Cincy. I LOL'd at the "welcome to 50 procedure".
ReplyDeleteIf I'm alive I'll be back later.
Morning Hotties - it's Friday and perhaps more importantly to some, it's a no pants installment of Friday. As I have to attend a 2.5 hour meeting attended by all the executives, I elected to wear pants today.

What do you mean by that, Monica?
j-z said...

That made me LOL.
A Good Morning to all!!
ReplyDeleteYaaaaay, it's Friday. Time to look forward to the weekend.
OH! CONGRATULATIONS, SEANZIE!!
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long before you're "Feeling the Heat."
GaTiger ...
ReplyDeleteThe King usually stays open until 2, and then whatever you get after that is a bonus, as I recall.
Now, if you think you can be there by 1:30 or so next week, then perhaps we can delay for a week.
In a previous thread, Monica said...
ReplyDeleteI feel an attack of extra fiestiness coming on. I should probably step away from the computer.
I would have loved to have "seen" that!!
LUV, I hadn't been to the HIT Center this week and I was dreading the trip. However, I happy to report I lived.
ReplyDeleteHA Luv, I was proud of myself for pretty much moderating my fiestiocity.
ReplyDeleteJet - thanks for the update and the kind offer. Though I don't believe I'll be able to make that time. I'll be spending next week searching for Tom Tuttle again and will be landing at ATL supposedly at 1:42 Eastern on Friday then immediately heading towards P'vegas to grab my daughter for some family time.
ReplyDeletePerhaps another time.
Monica - fiestiocity = Unfulfilled potential
ReplyDeleteDang, GaTiger ... I was hoping you'd buy me a late lunch.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Seanzie!! Glad it's Friday, but I sure do wish it weren't 50 degress and rainy here. I thought I heard them say we might expect some flurries next week here in Atlanta. It's April, time for 80 degree weather, daylit rain showers and an A Day game, not snow.
ReplyDeleteI'm really diggin the bowchicka bowwow music Mr Jay G Tate is tacking on to the videos.
Eric Smith is rotating with the one's in practice..interesting
ReplyDeleteAuburn is gonna use that spread punt garbage next year...yuck
Good Morning, Hotties. Glad to report the sun is finally shining on the plains.
ReplyDeleteLuv, I also found Ryan's pronoun usage odd.
Spread punt?
ReplyDeleteAt least he didn't speak in the 3rd person ... Monica would have asked for his scholarship to be revoked.
ReplyDeleteJet - if I can work it out in the future, I'll extend an invitation to the King and pick it up. Just yours, not any other gumpians who may wind up attending. Okay, if I work it out and we arrange said King lunch, any gumpian I've known for more than 25 years I'll absolutely buy your lunch that day. ReplyDeleteI've also heard, like margarine, the real thing ends up being better for you anyway. Just saying.
GaTiger ... if and when we meet at the King, it will be my treat. Anyone that can run 13 miles on purposes deserves a burger.
ReplyDeleteQuestion for the group, is anyone having trouble with the earlier videos that Jay had made that are now on the gannett site (The 3/30 and 3/31 practices)? I'm trying to figure out if it's my machine or if their site's messed up.
ReplyDeleteI will be in Prattville in July for a week. I want a Hamburger King lunch with you high powered, assistant having, important people. And you too, Jet.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Jet. I think some people can pull off talking about themselves in the third person. I find it sort of amusing in a way.
ReplyDeleteRyan Shoemaker is not one of those people though.
Jet agrees.
ReplyDeleteNicely done (as usual) Mon.
ReplyDeleteYou won't be disappointed in the lunch.
Jet is just jealous because he know Monica loves it when Harrison speaks in third person.
ReplyDeleteAlright peeps, heading out for the 2+ hour, executive laden, pants wearing meeting. Good times.
ReplyDeletetommyd: I just checked all four of those "old" videos and they loaded for me without incident.
ReplyDeleteWearing pants has become so gauche.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mr Jay G Tate. Evidently "the Man" at work is going to keep pushing me down. !@#$ badger fans
ReplyDeleteMonica,
ReplyDeleteBTW ... ElTurbo refuses to confirm or deny his presence on HABOTN.
Monica, you need to swing by Pelham on your visit to Alabama in July!
ReplyDeleteSomeone get a stopwatch on Ben Tate...I keep hearing he's fast, I need the proof.
ReplyDeletewearing pants keeps your gauche covered
ReplyDeletegood morning hotties - TGIF!
LUV!!! I would love to - for real! We'll plan that. I misspoke earlier. I will actually be in B'ham most of the time so that will work out great.
ReplyDeleteJet - I will wager you $6.35 that was ElTubo.
Luv - should I assume from your Pelham remark that you are a fellow Shelby County resident?
ReplyDeleteIt takes a real man's man to work the word gauche into the conversation so beautifully.
ReplyDeletemon - do I still get to be a man's man even though I used it after Jay?
ReplyDeleteHornet, you assume correctly!
ReplyDeletegreat place to live -- nice to know we're neighbors
ReplyDeleteEveryone's favorite newcomer Eltoro gets a mention in Barnhart's blog today.
ReplyDeleteSaid on the floor of the Alabama Senate yesterday by the sluggin' Senator, Charles Bishop of Walker County, during a debate on a smoking prohibition bill.
ReplyDelete"When someone can't smoke or have sex in their private office, we're in bad shape."
Technically isn't it the public's office?
ReplyDeleteHmmm...did the bill also ban having sex or is he just projecting there?
ReplyDelete"When someone can't smoke or have sex in their private office, we're in bad shape."
ReplyDeleteThis made me guffaw!
Hornet - You have to originate, not duplicate.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletemon - that's what I figured...but like all men on the HABOTN, I seek your approval
ReplyDeleteFinally, we agree on something!
ReplyDeleteI fully support sex, followed by a smoke, in a private(or publicly owned) office.
ReplyDeleteJGT - does that make you a gauchard? I personally am not.
ReplyDeletethat was for you, Jeremy ha!
ReplyDeletePeter you are one big ole deleting maniac.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when he does that..Peter, deleting I mean. I could care less if he has sex and smokes in a privately or publicly owned office as long as it is not mine.
ReplyDeleteHornet- not true
ReplyDeleteI've never seen him so I don't know if I'd want him having sex in my office or not.
ReplyDeleteblame it on the rain.
ReplyDeleteCharles Bishop
ReplyDeleteIs the sex and smoking in your own private/public office part of that pursuit of happiness thing?
ReplyDeletewow...thanks PF -- that's exactly what I want stuck in my head all morning
ReplyDeleteWell Peter, judging from the district, that kinda splains some things
ReplyDeleteDid they mention anything about cubicles?
ReplyDeleteGood morning folks!
it's ironic that Mr Bishop works in industrial mining
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering... are PF and Jeremy Eubanks the same person?
ReplyDeleteMOnica ...
ReplyDeleteFrom The Bahr's hometown in Arkansas. Prone to challenge people to fights.
Not saying he belongs in an institution, but if he was in one, they wouldn't let him out.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI like the avatar of you and your doggie! He/she is SO cute!
ReplyDeleteBill Self of Kansas, Coach of the Year...what!?!?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I sometimes post under my other name "Cobra Commander," -- I mean.
ReplyDeleteForget it.
Jet - Now that is funny!
ReplyDeletejhag - who do you think it should be?
ReplyDeleteHEar me out ...
ReplyDeleteLebo would be wise to consider hiring Phillip Pearson to be an assistant coach ... good recruiter ... clearly got more out of his players than Gottfried did.
Has ties to coaches in state.
Just sayin'
Hey Jet was that the most infamous meltdown on the HABOTN?
ReplyDeleteJet, do you have any idea who El Turbo is posing as?
ReplyDeleteI think Izzo, Pitino and Anderson are all better choices.
ReplyDeleteYep, TommyD that was it.
ReplyDeleteTommyD - Completely!!
ReplyDelete...or not.
ReplyDeleteHey Seanzi - Welcome to the club
ReplyDeleteMonica noticed "Thirty Four" has entered the fray, and made a nebulous Hamburger King comment last night.
ReplyDeleteI would be for the Philip Pearson hire... good thinking, jet.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed out on all the Hamburger King talk last night. My contact info is on my Facebook page... I think. If it isn't, let me know.
Mon, that doesn't mean you can start calling me and breathing heavy into the phone... I do have caller ID.
I literally LOL'ed, D. Miller!!! Then I thought, "I'm sure you really wouldn't mind if she did!"
ReplyDeleteYou haven't hung up on me so far, Miller so I ain't-a-stoppin' now!
ReplyDelete34 is SO Elturbo.
ReplyDeleteHis profile gives him away fo sho.
I really need to go use the Necessary Room before someone says something really funny!
ReplyDeletethe heavy breathing is just weird... But, it's more that the Mrs. wouldn't like it as opposed to me.
ReplyDeleteThe "Necessary Room." Nice.
ReplyDeleteAnyone using the Firefox Personas? What Persona are you employing? Anybody good enough to make an Auburn one?
ReplyDeleteBut is it ok to breathe heavy privately in your public office, whie smoking after sex?
ReplyDelete“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”
ReplyDeleteFirefox personas?
ReplyDeleteJet - you really gotta teach that kid the art of subtlety, he's way too transparent.
ReplyDeleteI put the HABOTN in lock-down over Cobra Commander's little bout of spasticity.
ReplyDeleteThat's the only time that has happened.
We also had some goob roll in and call me a loser over and over. Remember that guy? His name was Aubie34 or something like that ...
I mean, it's a free blog. I'm not going to give you a refund if you think I suck.
Jet, on a trip to the beach YEARS ago, my college friends and I saw that on the bathroom door in a fast food restaurant. We had a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteI consider myself a Firefox expert ... and I have no idea what a Firefox Persona is.
ReplyDeleteThat was some other beat hack that was jealous of you, JGT...
ReplyDeletethe Necessary Room
ReplyDeleteNever in my life have I heard that. I love it!!
Elturbo will be President or in prison. Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteFirefox Personas
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many would-be presidents just weren't lucky enough to not have their shenanigans catch them.
ReplyDeleteYou're a good Dad, Jet.
ReplyDeleteI almost always use Google Chrome these days.
ReplyDeleteMonica, how's that working for you? I'm always afraid to download new stuff. Are they kinks that need to be worked out?
ReplyDeleteI'll see if I can get some slow time today and play around with some personas. If I come up with anything I'll let you know. And if someone else gets to it, let me know. I've got Auburn on everything else in this UGA heavy office
ReplyDeleteAnyone going to the Hall and Oates concert at the Riverfront next Saturday?
ReplyDeleteAnyone? Anyone?
Didn't think so.
Did you see that Trooper Taylor has invented a new era, it's called B.T.T., Before Trooper Time. I love this guy.
ReplyDeleteI luv me some Chrome, Luv.
ReplyDeleteHaulin wha?
ReplyDeleteWhat is a Hall of Oates and why would one go to said Hall?
ReplyDeleteYou can't make the club in the tub.
ReplyDeleteJet, I know you're going to be in the front row!
ReplyDeleteDo any of you go to City Stages?
ReplyDeleteNot me. No desire whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteI used to go something called River Stages in Nashville, I've also been to Music Midtown here in Atlanta. I've been to the Crawfish Boil in Birmingham, but I've never heard of City Stages?
ReplyDeleteWhy, you ask? I don't like crowds - esp. drunken redneck crowds.
ReplyDeleteHow do you manage to get through football season Luv?
ReplyDeleteMon - I have been full on board Chrome for a while. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThey had Buddy Guy last year I think. I would have gone to see him.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.citystages.org/
Great minds, ehyou. ;-)
ReplyDelete200.
ReplyDeleteI meant you Luv, you were asking about bugs.
ReplyDelete
