One guy piquing my curiousity is Montez Billings. He's not practicing. He's out there, but he's not going through drills. He's not in pads. I can't get anyone to say he's injured. I have no idea what to think.
WTC you can buy your A-day tix online at the same site you where you pay your TUF money. You dont need to get them early unless you just want to. They should be the same price at the gate.

W/o getting into rednecks, mullets, etc. like on AL.com, why do you suppose UAT draws such a big crowd for their spring game? Way more than anyone else in the country. is just because of the coach? Just what is it? I like my team but it doesn't define me like it seems to do for so many on the other side. i am sure it defines some on our side but I don't think nearly as much over there. any thoughts?
Mon..my family is one of those dysfunctional ones. Grandfather played football at AU in the 1920's. His son/My father went to Bama. We grew up Bama fans. Most of my cousins went to Bama and flunked out. The few AU cousins all graduated.
Mon, if i'm doing the lunch thing i hit one thing for 30 minutes. if i have 45-hr then i'll hit two areas. you don't really have to spend tons of time in the gym if you make it effective.
however, i'll need to do A LOT to get close to my boy Mario. he's a beast.
In case some of you aren't aware, there are now NCAA rules that penalize schools for not graduating players. It will cost scholarships. Running off players is a bad idea. Besides, I like our talent level.
As for Hoopie, I didn't realize you had a brother that is a Bama fan. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
agreed JG. you can't just let one of your players chill at a basketball game and never be around practice if he's still going to play. it doesn't make sense. at least be there to watch the drills & hear the coaching so you'll have some flippin' idea on what's going on.
We need to put together a wish list for this coming season and see if we can get Jay to deliver it to Coach Chizik. I will start things off with my wish for the season.
Coach Chizik, my wish is for us to make it through a season without one of our coaches explaining how big of an idiot he is.

Do you feel that the UAT fans you know live vicariuosly through their team? Some of the ones I know just come across like there is nothing else in the world but UAT football. They can recall every play, score whatever. It is alost like that is their entire life.
I do not like to lose, but it doesn't bother me that score was as bd as it was last year. Too many fans want to us ethe score as an indication of their supremacy. I just tell them, yeah we lost. I still had to work the next monday. Move along now.
Bought them for about 10 years and dropped out for about 5 and started back three years ago.
It got to be too much time on Sat. i dropped out after we beat UAT on the J holmes field goal. I got to AU @ 9:00am that day and got home about 3:00am on Sunday morning and I live in Montgomery.
Sometimes, I feel I can get so much accomplished by not going to the games.
Two years ago, I was ready for the season to be over by the UAT game at JHS. This year may be the same only because there are 8 games.
I love to watch them play, but sometimes thing "there is no line to my fridge,and no line to my restroom at home and if the stick it up, I can turn the channel."
Now I will get chapped if they lose but it doesn't take long to get over it. There were several of us watching the Ole Miss game and about half way through the 4th quarter, we all decided to watch another game and kept on grillin' and partakin'
Hello all...I was at practice today. Was there for the coaching clinic, however not saying that it didn't happen...but I didn't see anything of the sorts with Coleman and Rocker.
Also, QB race is still very close. Wideouts are improving...and Hawthorne had a HECK of a day!!!
It's 4am here in the Portland, OR area and I'll soon be heading for the airport to come back to ATL. I see that yet again Hamburger King is in discussion. After landing in ATL, I'll be heading towards P'vegas to grab the daughter, rest assured that if I'm anywhere near the closing time I'll be stopping by the King.
BigCat - yes, you can. 5 weeks should be plenty of time to get ready for it. The goal is to finish, not win it right? I believe WTC will concur.

Day 2 at The Masters... Tiger makes a bit of a move today. I also think the kid, Rory McIlroy, goes low today. I'm impressed with his game and that of fellow amateur Ryo Ishikawa. Both are very talented young players!

al.com is the internet equivalent of a local fair or carnival. Full of UAT mullets who are looking to pick a fight with anyone who wears shirts with sleeves and does not own any cutoff jean shorts.
Jorts! That's what my best friend calls them. The first time I heard her say it, she induced laughterbation. I, on the other hand, was not as amused. Although, listening to her laugh at herself was pretty funny!
There were at least 300 coaches there for the clinic. Several of them are people I know. None reported anything about an on-the-field altercation ... and they would have been standing a few feet from it.
I'm really not comfortable with you people making disparaging, declarative statements about the most highly respected source of information and enlightenment on the internet.
I wouldn't get overly concerned with Billings. When you have a new coaching staff, some people will move on and it is possible it will be him. I expect a lot of our receivers to step up this season. Once we get a few games under or belt, you will be asking where these receivers were last year.
Well, the iPod touch has a sweet application that was free and lets you watch live coverage. So while I'm taking notes I can watch golf. It's next-generation stuff, really.
What makes me really hot is when they show Tiger's score on the leader-board when he's way back in the field, just so you know what he's shooting. Why do they think I care?
Yeah I figured that was an Omnica word, and luckily things are slowing down as it approacheds the noon time Good Friday flight from the office for most of the people here. I may actually be able to keep up now.
Tiger could be +10 in the clubhouse on Sunday with the leaders playing at -1 and the announcers will still discuss how Tiger's presence could getting in their head if they make one slice.
Mon - I first read it, then I heard it, then I saw it. And I still don't know what to think, outside of him being a freak. But either way, it is pure genius because people are still talking about it.

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't get overly concerned with Billings. When you have a new coaching staff, some people will move on and it is possible it will be him. I expect a lot of our receivers to step up this season. Once we get a few games under or belt, you will be asking where these receivers were last year.
