Throw another shimp on the (television) barbe

Hey everyone. The Southeastern Conference just announced that Fox Sports Net has brokered a new television deal. FSN actually negotiated with ESPN, which bought the rights to SEC football this time last year.

Anyway, the FSN family of networks (Fox Sports South, Sun Sports and Fox Sports Southwest) now will exclusively televise nine live football games each season -- beginning this fall.

If you want to know about times, well, I don't have that information just yet.

Here's what the entire deal includes:
  • Seven live, exclusive football games (presumably non-conference tilts)
  • 20 men’s basketball games
  • 24 women’s basketball games (16 regular season, eight tournament)
  • 16 baseball games (10 regular season, six tournament)
  • 24 additional Olympic sporting events (softball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics)

  1. I obviously need to find some way to get Fox Sports South. I get Fox Sports Carolinas which is a totally useless network.

    ReplyDelete
  2. My satellite provider (Dish Network) doesn't play well with FSN South.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Do we know if the Fox Sports South games will be included in ESPN's GamePlan?

    ReplyDelete
  4. I see the serious need for a TV guide come football season.

    ReplyDelete
  5. THT, man, that's way over my head.

    ReplyDelete
  6. JayGT- where did you see that SEC announcement?

    ReplyDelete
  7. I received it in my in-box.

    ReplyDelete
  11. RK- The first show is kind of an introduction to the show with some bama hatin and a story from the past from me.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I have FSN South on DishNetwork.

My FIOS doesn't have any Fox Sports except Fox Soccer. Hopefully, they'll be on game plan or PPV.

    ReplyDelete
  14. FSN games were on ESPN Gameplan last year.

    Thanks JZ

Next question. Where should I go for peaches. Anywhere between B'ham and Montgomery.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jet - That watch has been increased to a warning.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Monica - Chilton County Fruit stand, in Clanton.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Monica, you probably can't go wrong with any of the peach stands/stores off of exit 205 (Clanton). By force of habit, I usually go to Durbin Farms.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Can someone tell me if I get this channel?

I love the Captain Proton episodes on Voyager.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Star Trek Voyager?

I never watched that Star Trek. We are original Star Trek and Next Gen. junkies.

    ReplyDelete
  27. THT, i'm no trek fan but the new star trek movie is off the flippin chain.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "Which Hamburger King?"

    That's like saying"Which Bo Jackson?"

    Enjoy, Monica.

    ReplyDelete

Star Trek Voyager-Captain Proton is a holonovel character based on Flash Gordon.

    ReplyDelete
  31. They sure are keeping this weekend's events under wraps, understandably so, despite Jet's wishes to secondarily violate. Any one in Auburn here any plans for impromptu Toomer's Corner rolling or other activities?

    ReplyDelete
  32. *HEAR

    I am seriously homonymically challenged.

    ReplyDelete
  33. So I am recruiting this guy on NCAA 09 who shares the same name as our friend Eddie. I think that I am going to take him to Red Lobster get him some cheddar bay biscuits, lobster and steak dinners, white cadillac escalade, jacuzzi rooms, and of course some nice "farmers girls" you know the Willie Williams treatment!

    ReplyDelete
  34. LOL Sorry Jet and other Hamburger King homers! I Googled it to get the address and got several different hits. Soooo, I thought maybe there were several different HK's.

    Thanks for straightening me out!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sounding good Eddie and Sensi!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  43. Anonymous8:29 PM

    Eddie,

Your podcast is pretty good. The other guy talks too much though.

    ReplyDelete
  44. am i missing this steam?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I was SOOO disappointed a restaurant was built under the Gaffney peach. I think they should have made it a state monument. I love that peach. I always stop at the Dairy Queen for an oreo blizzard in Gaffney.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hoopie- Thanks for calling!

Also, thanks for the other comments about the show. Hope you guys enjoyed it. I'll have it up tomorrow on my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous9:07 PM

Eddie/Sensi...i enjoyed the podcast and apologize if I talked too long.

    ReplyDelete
  48. alright this is the second time I have seen peaches mentioned in separate places that have nothing to do with each other and only one thing comes to mind..."peach..I could eat a peach for hours." Anybody know the movie that's from?

    ReplyDelete
  49. You didn't talk to much at all Hoopie. Please call back.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I once had a girl try to pick me up by telling me her belly button smelled like peaches and asked if I wanted to smell. Weirdest pick upline I have ever had used on me.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Darn. Greg called me not long after the show started and I missed Hoopie's call!! What I did hear of the show was good.

  57. Bonolomo commits to AU (again)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Bonomolo, I always get it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  59. as reported by Goldberg who quotes the usual pay sites.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous10:08 PM

Dmiller...don't leave us hanging...did she smell like peaches?

    ReplyDelete
  61. FINALLY! Thank you, Hoopie.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Anonymous10:20 PM

I'm actually trying to recall my single days and decide which criteria would have to apply in order to prevent me from finding out about the peach taste.....there aren't..uh weren't.. many.

    ReplyDelete
  63. we already knew that, Hoopie
    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Seastrunk is coming to town this weeknd and brunging the #7 ranked CB. The kid committed to TX and now is comited to Baylor but says he wants to check out AU because his friends, Seastrunk and T Reed have spoken so highly of AU. He says all three want to play a the same school.

not sayin it wil lhappen, but it does feel good to have Au being talked about by recruits around the country.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Do we need to talk about recruiting class attrition and how Tubbs was lazy to get SteveFC back in the conversation?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anonymous10:30 PM

Ouch!!...MonD...I see you packed your stiletto for the trip to Abalama....well played.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous10:41 PM

I'm not a Scarbo fan, but his recent article has me worried that if this weekend doesn't produce significant results, we may truly seem to be lacking recruiting substance.

All of the noise is great, but if you are making noise and don't back it up with results, the deflation could be huge.

I realize that these coaches have a challenge to start recruiting for AU in a completely different manner that the previous guys, but when you put yourself way out there....you've got to either deliver or be subject to valid ridicule from the outside.

    ReplyDelete
  68. "Post Postatono, AU hangin with Bono
U2 can live like Salvatore Ferragamo
And U2 can cool out poolside at the Delano
And U2 flow like you was out of your mind yo"

A little Jay-Z in honor of our 9commit.

Im starting to get a little excited about this weekend. I was starting to feel like it would be a huge let down.

    ReplyDelete
  69. LOL No ouch, Hoopie! It's just that we all know Mrs. Hoopie calls you stud muffin so you're clearly a playa, mack daddy kind of dude!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hoopie-if you take no chances you get no rewards. I do not mind swinging for the fences. if you don't, you never hit homeruns.

    ReplyDelete
  71. The South Carolina Scout site is reporting OL Eric Mack committed to South Carolina. I was hoping this was one Auburn could pull out-of-state. There seem to be few highly-ranked O-Lineman this year, and Auburn is(obviously) in dire need there.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I do hope they get some kids to pledge this weekend just to keep the nay sayers from bringing crap up about AU's recruiting being all noise and no substance.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Guess what? It's Thursday here!

    T-minus 51 days til kickoff.

    HAPPY JAMES CALLIER/TRAVIS WILLIAMS DAY!!!

    WARRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
    GO TIGERS!!!

I've got an extra early start soon, so it's nighty-night to all the Hotties.

    What day is it THT?

Good Morning Hotties! Summer is finally here as we go into the 90's. Workout is finished and hitting the shower. It's time to get out of bed and Hate Bama.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Good morning all.

    Rolling with Rollison '09!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anonymous6:33 AM

Good morning, Hotties! Happy Friday Eve! Travis Williams is a name I know!

    ReplyDelete
  78. THT- Nice with the James Callier Day. I've had the priveledge of driving James all over Auburn since he never had a car when he arrived from Miami. He is a very genuinely nice guy and a heck of a player. Good selection.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Wow, Tom Watson leading the Open at -5. That's solid play right there.

    ReplyDelete
  80. happy Callier/T.Williams day. TGI-Thursday. ready to call it a week.

we get FSN South up here but we're in the Cincinnati Reds tv market so it always defaults to their games and not the Braves. it doesn't make any sense. oh, well.

    ReplyDelete
  81. ok Eddie, i scanned up through this post and i don't see a link to your show. archive me!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Howdy Hotties!
Just finished the long commute after MrsTHT and I met MissTHT for breakfast at 0630 EDT. They had sweet potato pancakes. I had eggs/bacon/grits/biscuit with chocolate milk. I'm full and I'm sleepy. I've got a diet coke, if only I could shoot it up instead of drink it. But I'm still hatin' bama!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Eddie - do you know what James Callier is up to these days? Everything I've heard about him makes me so proud that he's part of the Auburn family.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Scottie,

Last night's show is archived on my blog and you can play it from there. Here is the link:

Auburn Football Insider Podcast from yesterday

Thanks again for all those who listened or will listen. We hope to have it up on itunes soon also available for download.

    ReplyDelete
  85. THT- Good question, I don't know, i'll see if I can find out tho.

    ReplyDelete
  86. As long as day 41 is Callier's LB teammate Tavarious Pounds...just an awesome name for a linebacker.

    ReplyDelete
  87. THT, this is one of my favorite days. Callier and Williams are two of my favorite players at Auburn. Callier was one of the friendliest players I ever met. Travis Williams has publicly defended Auburn on more than one occasion when everyone else was criticizing AU. He was back at A-Day this season, gracious as always.

    ReplyDelete
  88. RK, i'm thinking T.Pounds may have a battle on his hands with Quentin Riggins at day 41, but what do i know. he does have a sweet name.

thanks Eddie. i'm linking....now. itunes would be sweet.

    ReplyDelete
  89. WERK, you'll be disappointed to learn that Travarreus Pounds is on my list for honorable mention status. However, he is definitely a favorite of mine because he always introduced the ball carrier to a complete sentence, subject and verb.

    ReplyDelete
  90. if you have the 2001 AU-UF vhs tape there's a great interview with J.Callier after the game talking about the AU family.

    ReplyDelete
  91. If it ain't Quentin Riggins, I'll unleash a virus from hell and take this place down.

By the way, has the governor issued the interstate lane reveral order for the evacuation of the Gump due to Hurricane Monica.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Jet, i about fell out of my chair reading that. nice.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Jet's got a virus from T-town. Hmmm...

    ReplyDelete
  94. THT- you assume they have computers in T-town? They probably intend to release the swine flu in T-town.

    ReplyDelete
  95. wow, they are going to read my email on the show again. Good deal.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I had Fox Sports South, and then for some reason I went to DishTurbo and I no longer have it. Weird thing this satellite TV.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Also, Re: Stark Trek, The New Movie...I loved it as well and I'm not big on Star Trek.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Did anyone else that per the recruiting sites, Bonomolo committed? Am I just that late?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Sean, i just assumed the Bonomolo thing was reported last nite. i didn't go back & check. he's got a cool name.

    ReplyDelete
  100. my wife is geeked about the new Harry Potter movie. i'll be going to see that in the next week or so. yippee. :/

    ReplyDelete
  101. I saw it on Tues. night/Wed Morning, the midnight show. If you're a fan you'll like it, if not, you probably won't.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Gump trip cancelled. :-(

    My public apologies to WTC!

    ReplyDelete
  103. THT that shooting up diet coke made me laugh

    ReplyDelete
  104. So it now must be safe to return to the gump for you gumpers.

    ReplyDelete
  105. and Jet can stop pretending to be "on a business trip"

    ReplyDelete
  106. Monica - it worked, I'm finally coherent (though sadly, still unintelligent)

    ReplyDelete
  107. Is there any truth to the rumor that there is going to be a "rolling Toomer's Corner" competition at 7 pm Saturday between JayGT's Hotties, the Auburn Undercover subscribers, and the Scout & Rivals subscribers?

If there isn't any truth to it, why not?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Take it for what its worth, but rumblings in Auburn say that Seastrunk and friends may not be able to make the trip this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Also heard that Chaz Ramsey might be suing Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  110. ^^ party pooper ;-)

be careful 1292, you may convert depressedAUfan into despondentAUfan

    ReplyDelete
  111. Thanks AU1292. You know how to kill a buzz!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Perhaps Omnica can learn the planned whereabouts of Lache for this coming weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Monica ... The state's bidness is my bidness.

    ReplyDelete
  114. a Toomer's TP competition. brilliant!

    ReplyDelete
  115. THT, every time I am close to changing my name, 1292 has a post to knock some sense back into me. I propose a settlement in the Ramsey case of Chaz coming back to the team and Hugh Nall running stadium steps.

    ReplyDelete
  116. That explains the excellent state of affairs of the state. :-)

On another note, didn't someone say Dixon Farms was a favorite of their's?

    ReplyDelete
  117. On a lighter note, Sports Illustrated issues coming out this week feature Alabama, Ole Miss, and Tennessee regionally. Say hello to the SI jinx.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Scottie B - if it was brilliant, it wasn't my idea.

I need Omnica to do her FB thing and find out if a certain Texan will be in Auburn. If he can travel 1560 miles for the weekend, I should certainly be able to drive 1000. She better hurry...common sense is starting to rear its ugly head!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Anonymous11:36 AM

Mon...dang you've got a good memory. Stud muffin is mostly a sarcastic comment utilized by Hoopette.

WTC..I hit a lot of homeruns back in the day. Almost every one was the result of a technically correct swing coupled with 20/10 eyesight. Swinging "for the fence" breaks down the fundamentals and ususally result in a glorious.....pop fly.

For the record, I never said that these guys shouldn't be doing what they're doing. I'm saying that their overt style had better work or they have set themselves up for valid ridicule from all of the other SEC team recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Guess who is voting in the AP poll this season?

    ReplyDelete
  121. OK. You give up. It's me.

    ReplyDelete
  122. JayGT - can I buy your vote, or more accurately, your nonUAT vote?

    ReplyDelete
  123. The Hotties via Jay G?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Phillip Marshall?

    ReplyDelete
  125. dang my fat fingers...

    ReplyDelete
  126. All I ask is when you don't vote Auburn in the top 2 at the end of the season, and your editors ask you to write a column, don't write a condescending, self-absorbed, snide, inappropriate diatribe. Just make your case and move on.

I'll love you more for it.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Heisman voter, and the AP? can our fearless leader get any hotter?

    ReplyDelete
  128. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Hotties ...

    Know this ...

    AP voter > Heisman voter.

    By a wide, wide margin.

    ReplyDelete
  130. JD ...

Fred West Virginia State is reporting Seastrunk won't be coming this weekend?

Is Auburn's Lache level dropping? I thought we had enough rain to avoid a drought.

    ReplyDelete
  131. JD, that bites the big green one
    :-(

    ReplyDelete
  132. There are reporters whose last name is the same as a university in MonD's home state reporting that Seastrunk will not be in attendance this weekend. Anyone know anythign?

    ReplyDelete
  133. i can't see any definitive change of plans on the Rivals boards.

there was an article by Jeff Lee yesterday about him coming.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Do I need to go get him?

oh, wait, that might be a bit more than secondary

    ReplyDelete
  135. sorry i deleted the comment and then reposted it because I was unsure if I should put an apostraphe in Who'se or whose...anyways I'm sure that is not the only mistake made in that post.

    ReplyDelete
  136. No Jet it was actually Steven Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College who reported that

    ReplyDelete
  137. I suspect Bob West Virginia Tech, from WV's very own gump, Montgomery, WV.

My former bro-in-law taught biology there. He got some really interesting questions from the nursing students.

    ReplyDelete
  138. it took me 4 hours but i finally make it through Eddie & Sensi's first radio/blog shot. enjoyed it guys and good call Hoopie.

    ReplyDelete
  139. My former bro-in-law taught biology there. He got some really interesting questions from the nursing students

    Details...

    ReplyDelete
  140. JD ...

That Steven Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College is a muck-raking F-bomb wannabe.

The sad thing is that apparently Phillip Marshall is reporting the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Oh .... now I get it.

Well, i'm out. Got meetings the rest of the day and a reception/dinner tonight. Don't wait up for me.

    ReplyDelete
  142. AP voter Jay G Tate? Wowza!

Can we get a preview of your Top 25 Jay G? Also, what is your philosophy going to be on the preseason poll? Vote for the actual best teams, or vote where you think they will end up? Will you allow teams to move up or down during a bye week? Can a team near the top be leapfrogged by better performing team even though the team being leapfrogged didn't lose? Will you be open to doing a total reassessment of your poll every week, or will it be based on last week's poll with the only changes being driven by wins and losses?

    ReplyDelete
  143. So many questions, Michael.

I generally vote based on who I think is best. I fell under Hawaii's spell when they were good, though, so my system isn't exactly foolproof.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Let's pretend we are holding a Supreme Court nominee confirmation hearing:

How would you have voted in 2007 when a two loss LSU team leapfrogged a two loss Georgia team after winning the SEC Championship?

In 2006, would you have voted the consensus "best two teams" at number 1 and number 2 after the championship games (Michigan and Ohio St), or would you have had someone else at the number 2 spot?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Anonymous12:24 PM

Unlike some folks on here, I am OK with the JCCW. In fact, I found the HABOTN b/c of the JCCW. The guy generally throws out opinions and provides handy links to support where he gathered data to form the opinion.

Eddie...the JCCW makes a very clear argument for possibly burning TR's redshirt year this season and makes some good points. My problem with his opinion is that it assumes CGC and AU are in a make it or break it situation this year. Is it that critical this season? Are we doomed to the cellar for years to come if we don't turn it around this year? Call me naive, but I just don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  146. In keeping with the spirit of Rowe v Wade, I would have had Ohio State aborted in the season's first trimester.

    ReplyDelete
  147. THT,
Am I losing my mind or did you have a comment that just disappeared?

And does anyone know more about the Chaz Ramsey suit against Auburn? Just heard that on the Roundtable.

    ReplyDelete
  148. cincy- your mind is not lost

    ReplyDelete
  149. THT banhammerbated the post in question, which was then removed permanently by the Jay G. Mark it, dude.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Anonymous12:33 PM

The scholly "contract" signed by recruits contains an immense of liability protection for the University and AD. Is his atty a fool?..or does AU need a scolly liability risk analysis performed?

    ReplyDelete
  151. uh oh, bad lightning. I may lose my HABOTN connection in which case I may need medical attention. If that happens, I guess the folks here could lay me out in the parking lot, yell "CLEAR" and wait for the lightning to hit me.

    ReplyDelete
  152. i hope it doesn't come to that THT.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Not to continue my pessimistic rants, but it has came across my mind that if Auburn was cheating at all during Ramsey's stint at Auburn, he could use that as leverage in the lawsuit.

    ReplyDelete
  154. If we were cheating while he was there, we weren't very good at it.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'm confused.

My HOME STATE IS ALABAMA NOT WEST VIRGINIA. WV is my temporary residence.

THT - Sorry. I have nothing to report on you-know-who.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Anonymous12:44 PM

Hey, Hotties, just wanted to let you know Geno is on his way home. For those of you that live in the Bham area, I highly recommend Dr. Ballagas. He is so personable and when we told him that money was an issue (even though we would have paid it no matter what it was; we just would have to put it all on credit cards), he said, "If you were to tell me that you were on your last dime, I would still what was right for this dog." For his second surgery and all the care they gave him for his degloving injury, the total cost was almost $1200. He only charged us $300! You don't see that much anymore. We were so touched and appreciative.

    ReplyDelete
  157. AU1292 continues to bring the pain...

    ReplyDelete
  158. That's great news, Luv! YAY for Dr. Ballofgas.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Anonymous12:50 PM

    LOL Thanks, Monica!

    ReplyDelete
  160. Mon- you're funny!

LUV - HIP HIP HOORAY!!! THREE CHEERS FOR GENO!!! THREE CHEERS FOR DR BALLAGAS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  161. AU1292 - Cheating? HA! Tuberville & co. played by the rules. Besides, our record last year is proof there wasn't any cheating.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Trust me, most, if not all, programs cheat. To what extent is another question. But I wouldn't be surprised if $20 handshakes were going on at any point during Tub's tenure or if they were going on now by certain AU coaches...

    ReplyDelete
  163. Over 10 years, I had several handshakes with Tommy Tuberville, I never got $20.

Was I shaking the wrong hand? If so, I missed out on a few free meals.

  164. My hats off to Eddie & Sensi on a good show last night. I listened to it this afternoon, you guys did a great job.

    ReplyDelete
  165. listen to the rantings of twelve ninety-two
telling me just what a fool i've been
to trust that Tubs was playing by the rules
and think Chiz isn't without sin

    ReplyDelete
  166. Hate to hear about the lawsuit. hopefully it will be settled and no mudslinging goes on. I hear the Ramsey's just think the trainers ruined Chaz's health by making him workout while the surgeon said no workouts.

  167. Eddie,

You were talking about the 1996 UAB game, it was that moment that I knew Terry Bowden was on borrowed time. We we struggled putting the ball in the endzone vs UAB and had almost zero running game to start the season, it became apparent to a lot of people he wasn't who we needed on the sideline.

Jaret Holmes was our offense that day hitting several long FG's.

  168. I can't find anything about Seastrunk not coming. My friend at AU says as of last night he is still coming.
He does however think Seastrunk and Reed both go to LSU. Dyer comes to AU and Grant goes to UAT.

Someone keep 1292 away from the window.

  169. WERK,

Your recall for game detail is mind boggling.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Monica,

Sadly it really has no benefits other than message boards or for the occasional trivia.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Well, I know this doesn't count for a darn thing, but it certainly impresses the heck out of me.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Devil's advocate here - if I was injured and as a 19 year old felt pressured to workout by the trainers and coaching staff even though doctors told me not to, and the result was a back injury that would last the rest of my life, then I would probably sue.

    ReplyDelete
  173. my boggling mind has been recalled for lame detail...and lamer posts.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Michael, you don't need to argue on behalf of $aban to convince me.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Was the surgery performed by an Auburn team doctor or a doctor that the Ramsey family chose? It seems like the therapy program should have been discussed between the doctor and the therapist, whoever it was.

    ReplyDelete
  176. So are we debating a lawsuit that is actually going to exist or just a random posting from someone who seems to only post something negative that might happen based on rumor or something they came up with?

    ReplyDelete
  177. I believe bammer Evan had an article about it right around signing day. From what I recall, and I believe this was the Ramsey side of the story, the doctor did give specific instructions which were not followed by the training staff.

    ReplyDelete
  178. The surgery was performed by a doctor that Auburn recommended. When he came back to rehab after surgery the AU training staff gave him a plan that conflicted with that of what his doctor had laid out. Ramsey said that it was too aggressive and made things worse. Apparently AU's team doctor, Dr. Goodlett, was upset when he found out that the training staff wasn't following the surgeon's rehab plan and he told Ramsey to report straight to him for rehab.

  179. WERK, probably the former, though right now the latter.

1292 do you have any kinfolk with a chili pepper impregnated cartilaginous skeleton on the dark side?

    ReplyDelete
  180. This is an actually suit that is is being filed. I have not read it from any websote, but a friend of the Ramsey family taold me about it today. I asked him about it after reading the post on here. He had told ne before that this was going to happen they were just getting the documentation togeher. I think an announcement of the suit is forth coming shortly.

    ReplyDelete
  181. Lawsuit will be settled out of court and the Ramsey family will get paid. Moving on...what do we think about La Tech. Bowl team, beat MSU last year. Thoughts on our opener?

    ReplyDelete
  182. LaTech isn't a pushover, but I have no idea what they have back from last year.

If we have any kind of offense, it shouldn't be much of a problem to win by a couple of TD's. That's a big "if".

    ReplyDelete
  183. ha @ Seanzie Way to try to bring it back to present day football.

WTC are you typing on your phone?

  184. Anonymous2:01 PM

If I was a 19 yr old with enough intelligence to go to college, I would hopefully have enough self confidence in my ability to understand what the Docs say to tell the coaches no. If that action resulted in me losing a scholly....then I would sue and have more reasonable grounds for such.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I think we'll win easy. Even without a big offense. We could run the zone read with Tate and Co and probably win. Teams like La Tech don't do things like beat SEC teams every year. They just don't.

    ReplyDelete
  186. I'm beggin y'all to quit talking about litigation. Football please!

    ReplyDelete
  187. If LaTech has an established QB, then I am seriously concerned. We may not yet have figured out our offensive identity (i.e. QB), and you know Dooley would love to beat up on the guy who got the job.

    ReplyDelete
  188. just sews y'all know, I'm really hatin bama this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Hmmm this is troubling...their entire roster starters are Srs almost. Including a 3yr QB. I'm not as confident as I was 5 minutes ago.

    ReplyDelete
  190. LaTech had a pretty good run of beating Alabama and putting a scare on us back in the late 90's/early 00's.

That overtime game in 2001 the week after we beat Florida was a huge collapse on our part as Cobb couldn't find a blue jersey after we went up 31-7.

If DT doesn't get that pick in OT we might still be playing.

    ReplyDelete
  191. La Tech returns all 5 offensive linemen, their all WAC running back, their QB, and their best receiver. Needless to say, most of their offensive power is returning, how much power they have is yet to be determined. And trust me I would love to post some positive news, but that seems to be lacking on the Auburn front as of late.

    ReplyDelete
  192. AU1292, can you change your name to "Black Death" or something more appropriate?
