Why is it, that Awfulburn always has a photo posted, and are always on the top of the sports page? This has got to be the most biased newspaper in the world, besides the New York Times. Awfulburn, and Obama, it never ends!Funny, we're often accused of being pro-Alabama as well. I wonder who's right? Maybe neither side? Maybe we cover the two teams equally?
In other news, Santa Claus is asking for a higher mileage reimbursement.

Morning
ReplyDeleteY'all sure do sleep late. The day has been going for about 3 hours already!
ReplyDeleteCincy- I appologize. I googled funny redsox avatars and that came up. I should have used better judgement. That is truely out of character for me and I should have thought better.
ReplyDeleteGo Yankees!
ReplyDeleteJay, I really liked the article on Bart. And the fact that it made the bammers gnash their teeth makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Santa on the mileage.
ReplyDeleteI got shafted by the man on my travel reimbursement. So is life.
Hey Cinci....
ReplyDeleteHey, Eddie, the picture is so small, you really couldn't tell what it was. Or not too much. I think it does accurately depict the comments section we were speaking of.
ReplyDeleteJERRAUD POWERS...OR HARRY ADAMS!
ReplyDeleteAs far as the "aufulbarn" guy goes, can you seriously not post a complaint without a pathetic attempt at an insult?
ReplyDeleteWay to be credible.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI love reading comments on stories from actual news organizations. It makes me feel better about things.
ReplyDeletewhat, Bama fans thinking the world is against them? really? wow, shocking.
ReplyDeleteScottieB,
ReplyDeleteNice Rockstar reference in prev. thread.
Steel Dragon!
Awfulburn? Team is 5-0, same as Alabama.
ReplyDeleteCan't be that awful.
Eddie: You're good.
ReplyDeleteNo more apologies.
Morning Hotties - following on from Scottie B's comment, the world IS against the Bammer Nation. Well, MY world is at least. I do have some people in my family who are fans of UAT and I'm against them too. I hate them (UAT, not the family peeps) when I'm awake and I believe I proved a week or so ago that I even hate them when I'm asleep.
ReplyDeleteKeep Hate Alive.
Insecurity - check
ReplyDeleteThreatening, empty comments - check
Overblown sense of importance - check
Things delusional Bama fans get together before leaving each morning.
i woke up this morning with an extremely large desire to go to the UGA game in Athens. i haven't been since 2001. we'll see if this continues.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I went to Athens was 1999.
ReplyDeletei've been to Athens 4 times for games: 97, 99, & 01 AU games and the 98 Georgia Tech game. all 4 times UGA lost. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Athens due to distance.
ReplyDeleteI plan to make the trek this year.
UGA- I've been to Athens several times starting in 95, 97, 99, 01, 03, 05, 07 & already have my tickets for this year. We are 5-2 when I go. I love going to Athens. Fun trip.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good year to go then ScottieB
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe that it's been 10 years since I've been to Athens.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Eddie you can keep the Atlanta traffic. 70,000 people all trying to get in and out of the GaDome for the U2 show really really sucked.
How was the show, RK?
ReplyDeleteRK- As soon as I find an offer in either Chattanooga or Auburn area i'm gone from Atlanta. I hate Atlanta with a passion and the traffic. If it rains here all hell breaks loose on the roads. It doesn't help that I drive from the West side to the East side and have to go thru the city.
ReplyDeleteFolks that complain about biased content are lame and paranoid.
ReplyDeleteSensi,
ReplyDeleteIt was a great show. We got to the Northside drive exit 252 for the GaDome at 5:45, the show starts at 7:00...we actually got on Northside drive from the exit at 6:15. So 30 mins on the exit ramp. It took almost 2 more hours to get to the Dome.
We missed Muse's whole set and got in right as U2 went onstage.
I was not a happy camper, but their show was great. The acoustics in the dome not so great.
Good deal, RK. What are they closing and encoring with these days?
ReplyDeleteRK- When going to the dome, never drive to it. Parking is not good and getting there is a pain. The best way to go is honestly Marta and the best place to catch the subway is drive down 285 towards Auburn and get on I-20 and immediately off on the Holmes exit and station. That is a direct shot to and from dome without connections and easy on and off from interstate.
ReplyDeleteI'll be in Athens that week. Look for me downtown Friday night. I may or may not look like my avatar.
ReplyDeleteHolmes is not a good area at night...or during daylight.
ReplyDeleteI'll be in downtown Athens on a Friday night in November.
ReplyDeleteWe had a good photo gallery the other day from the U2 show.
ReplyDeleteI'll let you buy me a beer, yes.
ReplyDeletePeter- It's fine. Marta Security is pretty good. I've parked there several times for games and late night events at the domes, some with my kids and i've never felt endangered. After big events you will usually have a good size crowd riding with you that get off mostly on that exit.
ReplyDeleteNot after all that dum dum DUMMMMM business.
ReplyDeleteThe beer-buying is going the other direction.
you don't like dramatic background music? darn.
ReplyDeleteAthens is fun on a Friday night. Would be fun to go with the right crowd.
ReplyDeleteok. I'll buy you a cherry coke. I've got no shame.
ReplyDeleteNo caffeine or alcohol for me.
ReplyDeleteHow about a chilled water?
We can do chilled water.
ReplyDeleteYou can send me a case of water while you're at it, Frankenbummer.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the clock passed 9 a.m. The secret meeting to tilt the news coverage @ the Advertiser toward _______ is now underway.
ReplyDeleteSensi,
ReplyDeleteThey closed the regular set with "Where the Streets Have No Name". Then they had a new song sandwich around "With or Without You" in the encores.
I don't owe you shnikeys, Mike, except a kick in the teeth. How should I address that?
ReplyDeleteEddie,
ReplyDeleteWhere were you two days ago with this info?
Why don't they have Marta off of 75 near Marietta?
Bart Eddins is a funny guy.
ReplyDeletehappy Tony Franklin 'you just got fired' anniversary day!
ReplyDeleteIf you are not coming to Huntsville anytime soon, you can mail me a shoe and I will hit myself in the teeth with it.
ReplyDeleteBut also send some water with it. And maybe mail two shoes, size 12.
Matching shoes preferably, one made for right feet and one made for left feet.
ReplyDelete"Streets" is a personal favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to hear that one, RK.
RK- Sorry man, if I knew, I would have offered the advice. As far as Marta on 75....not going to happen for good reason. Cobb County refused to get involved with Marta and will not allow it into the county for fear of what comes with it.
ReplyDeleteSensi,
ReplyDelete"Streets" is probably my favorite of Edge's guitar work.
Agree, RK.
ReplyDeleteNothing like that AC-30 with all
that delay rocking out in that song.
Eddie,
ReplyDeleteI should have asked. I've always gotten into the Ga Dome with no problem...but looking back it's always been for football games and I get down there around 4 hours before the game starts.
The only concert I have seen there was the show in 2000 with Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, System of a Down and Powerman 5000 that started early afternoon and there wasn't much traffic.
Five words to describe RK's 2000 concert
ReplyDeleteLoud, angry at my dad
RK- Just keep that in mind when going to the dome or Phillips. It is usually a good option to avoid the parking and the traffic of downtown for an event.
ReplyDeleteCincy- I wish I had been sleeping.
ReplyDeleteto paraphrase one of my all-time fav movie quotes from Blain, "ain't got time to read", so excuse me if y'all mentioned this. Heard on radio that Okie State's superstar WR Dez Bryant has been declared ineligible. Are they still ranked?
I smell a forfeit win coming UGA's way.
ReplyDeleteI'm now headed for Tulsa.
ReplyDeleteKeep it real in my absence.
Piece.
apparently the Bryant kid lied about hanging with Deion Sanders this summer. i'm not sure about all the details, though. OSU is #15 in the AP.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the peanuts and have a safe travel.
ReplyDeletesafe travels to Tulsa time JGT.
ReplyDeleteSensi,
ReplyDeleteThat was a very loud show. The girls behind us came back from the bathroom with this box of pills that they had found in the bathroom and asked if we thought it would be alright if they took them.
What an amazing crowd for people watching.
Eddie,
I've never had a problem at an event at Phillips or a game at the Ga Dome, but as I said for games I get there really early.
The always
ReplyDeleteentertaining Rep. Alvin Holmes, chairman of Legislative Contract Review, questioning why an agency is hiring a professor from a Pennsylvania college as a consultant.
"Why don't you hire somebody from Auburn? They're playing good football again."
thanks, Scottie B. If we take care of our bidness, that's another spot that should open up ahead of us.
ReplyDeleteScottieB
ReplyDeleteJet- Smart Man.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty wild.
ReplyDeleteNew musical instrument.
ehyou, love the Avatar. I don't know what I'm going to do with my Saturday now that we have a day game. These be uncharted waters.
ReplyDeleteIn the fictional band world:
ReplyDeleteSpinal Tap > Steel Dragon
Sensi, i'm not exactly sure what i did to deserve that but.....thanks (i guess).
ReplyDeleteSTAND UP AND SHOUT!!!!
ehyou,
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Spinal Tap goes to 11!

ReplyDeleteFYI, The Chiz will be on the Scott Van Pelt show this afernoon (ESPN Radio) at 2:40 CT.
ReplyDeletehere is the link for your audible enjoyment.
LOL at Holmes....that should be you-tubed! It might rival the one from FL last year.
ReplyDeleteLast time in Athens (with GA family members) was 2005! It was awesome winning! Except band members getting drinks poured on them and GA State patrol having to escort them to buses. I guess that was in retaliation for the sprinklers!
I am the only one on AL.com that voted for that game.
Bono pulled a good friend of mine onto the stage during the concert in ATL. Did you happen to see that, RK?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSensi...
ReplyDeleteDisengage auto-post.
Auburn will win this week, despite what others in the media say. If we listened to the media we would probably be 2-3 right now by most predictions!
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle!
For those interested...Arkansas Preview
ReplyDeletemy initial gut feeling was more of a 45-38 kind of game.
ReplyDeletei'm feeling 45-24 now. it may be tied at the half, but the 2nd half is OURS!
I'm starving.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm going to get lunch
ReplyDeleteBut first...
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't say this ... but when I think of "With or Without You," I think of SteveFC singing to Tuberville.
ReplyDeleteHELLO KENNESAW, GEORGIA!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heard a caller to the local call-in show this AM say UAT has another incident involvong Jones and Ingram. Something about a fishing trip out of Galveston, TX to Cancun. He is an AU homer so take that for what it is worth. Anyone else hear baout that particular matter?
ReplyDeletei'm hungry to THT, what's for lunch?
ReplyDeleteJet, I'm headed to Zoe's for lunch today.
ReplyDeleteScottieB - just crappy cafeteria food. But tomorrow and Saturday? YUMMY!!! I'll be eating lots of NC barbecue from various establishments. I may even try the BBQ catfish at Big Ed's in downtown Raleigh for lunch tomorrow. Big map/history events going on this weekend.
ReplyDeleteWTC,
ReplyDeleteOf course you are.
Free Pizza Day at the office for those who have contributed to the State Combined Campaign (United Way).
ReplyDeleteSince I'll in Fayetteville this weekend, the free lunch is appreciated.
Zoe's was started by former UAT football player John Cassimus, WTC.
ReplyDeleteSo when you're driving your Murano and talking on your white phone, likely booking a spa treatment or arranging to get a couch reupholstered, remember that you are aiding and abetting the enemy.
i'm starving & i need to get my oil changed in the old Saturn. it'll be fast food for scottie today.
ReplyDeleteBro. Jet,
ReplyDeleteI am in need of a lesson from the AU Good Book on dealing with Hog Dilemma and on learning to accept the kool-aid.
I posted this at the end of a dead thread the other day.
ReplyDeleteActs 10:9-16
"The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. And a voice came to him, 'Rise, Peter; kill and eat.'
But Peter said, 'Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.'
15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, 'What God has cleansed you must not call common.' This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again."
Brother Sensi, we can eat the Bacon.
I hate to do this, but I guess I will admit to liking two UAT-influenced establishments. Zoe's pitas are excellent and I like me some Baumhower's wings. On the other hand, I really don't like Dreamland at all, so maybe that offsets the other two a bit. Another advantage to Zoe's are the hot, very fit women who tend to dine there.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteScott-Lots of tennis skirts in this one about 11:30am.
ReplyDeleteJet-no white phone, but I am in need of geting the interior roof liner repaired on her Jetta. Wife took it to get an estimate. I was surprised that she didn't just say go ahead while I'm here. I got an esitmate todya that was 3/4 less than what the dealer said it would cost.
ReplyDeleteIn made up words of Dr. Jeffrey MacDonald:

ReplyDeleteMGM is a really nice airport now. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteGoogle's advice for me today will not be followed:
ReplyDeleteKeep Pork off Your Fork - GoVeg.com - Check out our list of the Top 10 reasons not to eat pigs.
Personally, I can't think of a single reason not to gobble up some pork bbq, bacon, or sausage...especially this weekend.
Jay G., glad you made it through security.
ReplyDeleteTHT,
ReplyDeleteThat's propaganda from the hippies who are ruining all things fun in this world. Eat up and eat well.
Sigh.
Scott..
ReplyDeleteZoe's does have some heat at their establishment usually..
Especially at the one at the Summit
THT..
ReplyDeletePork is good anytime....any place, IMO
don't worry Sensi, I'll be eating high on the hog all weekend long.
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!! BRING HOME THE BACON!!!
Looking forward to some Conecuh myself.
ReplyDeleteHow about Grove Aged Reb, FSJ?
ReplyDeleteWelcome GATOR BOWL!!!!!! Goodbye Independence Bowl!!!!!!! I love this change!
ReplyDeleteWtc: can you facebook me a number for the headliner place? I need their services.
ReplyDeleteI read that earlier eddie. It is a favorable swap.
ReplyDeleteThat's excellent news, Eddie. I posted a link a couple of months ago about the possibility of that happening, but it sounded somewhat unlikely at the time. I wish it pitted the SEC against a conference other than the Big 10, but it's still cool to add another FL-based bowl to the SEC mix.
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say I don't understand what is wrong with Dez Bryant's involvement with Deion Sanders. Unless Primetime is giving him $100 handshakes, so what if he "hung at his crib" for a while.
ReplyDeleteSensi..
ReplyDeleteGrove aged Reb sounds perfect.

Everyone keep an eye out for Prime Time "mentoring" football players around the Auburn campus. Bad things seem to follow players who he is advising.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I'm concerned, Prime Time is not welcomed here until he atones for the cheap shot uncalled penalty on Shayne Wasden from the Sugar Bowl.
ReplyDeleteDear Bambi,
ReplyDeleteWe sincerely regret that we feel your university has been slighted, but judging by your lack of spelling ability, you probably shouldn't be attempting to read anyway.
Love,
Steve
Bad things like Noel Devine running all over Auburn's defense?
ReplyDeleteDidn't Devine give Deion the boot?
ReplyDeleteI think they still talk, but he declined letting Deion adopt him.
ReplyDeletePrime Time could adopt me.....for a small fee.
ReplyDeleteWere are all the cornpone haters this week?
ReplyDeleteGuess having your hands full with little ole Arkansas State shut that down for a little while.
i posed that question a couple days ago Sensi. strangely quiet from the Iowans.
ReplyDeleteIt's harvest season. They're all picking corn.
ReplyDeleteNebraska at Missouri ought to be a fun game to watch tonight.
ReplyDeleteNeb vs Mizzo definitely on my schedule tonight
ReplyDeleteI just saw where Todzilla has been added to the Maxwell Award watch list. So much for calling him the noodle, huh.
ReplyDeleteChris "The Noodle" Todd.
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve, I like it.

Ehyou,
ReplyDeleteYou CANNOT be serious!
Jet does his best McEnroe.
ReplyDeleteLet's conquer the Swine and leave them with the Flu.
ReplyDeleteAU 45....Ark...35
Yeah, in retrospect you're probably right.
ReplyDeleteRetrospect = fancy word for hindsight. And as we all know, hindsight is 50-50.
ReplyDeleteI hate UA-T.
ReplyDeletePassionately.
Colored pencils: over-rated or under-rated?
ReplyDeleteUnder-rated. They don't get much love.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute. Hindsight is 50/50?
ReplyDeleteNew Shimmer is a desert topping.
ReplyDeleteI see where Furman lost to Elon, a small college in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Furman being on our schedule is pretty ridiculous. Some of the patsies we have played in the past would kill Furman. Maybe we break the 100 point barrier in that one.
ReplyDeleteNorm's vision is pretty shaky, even with corrective lenses.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of completely screwed up metaphors. That's why foreign kids are funny.
ehyou - a Pat Dye quote on the 50-50 hindsight.
ReplyDeleteAnybody wanta acknowledge that my pre-season prediction of Chris Todd as All-Sec QB doesn't look quite as foolish as it once did?
Not yet?
Trouble is brewing. ESPN is talking about Auburn like it is a decent team. I know I know. I was on here last week complaining that we weren't getting any love, now that we are, I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just wanted an acknowledgement of existence a few weeks ago. We really didn't have that.
ReplyDeleteYou were gambling pretty heavy with that prediction, so I don't feel like giving you credit. Congrats, though.
ReplyDeleteTHE CHIZ is on ESPN radio, NOW!
ReplyDeleteWar Dang Chiz!
ReplyDeleteScott Van Pelt and his co-host showed Chiz much love. very nice. SVP also said he was a big fan of the Auburn fanbase.
ReplyDeleteScott Van Pelt is a fan of me!!!
ReplyDeleteyes he is ehyou. yes he is.
ReplyDeleteIt'll behoove ya to be kind to your uvula.
ReplyDeleteYour uvula. It's down below your larinix. You got a uvula. I got a uvula. All God's children got a uvula.
ReplyDeleteJet knows and I bet ehyou does too, but for those who don't, the preceding post brought to you by Barney Fife.
ReplyDeleteWho knew Barney was a thread-killer? That one bullet must have worked this time.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Norm. In response I will say:
ReplyDeleteHallelujah!
Anyone who says Barney Fife is not the greatest tv character ever created is just plain wrong.
ReplyDeleteNorm...
ReplyDeleteTruer word were never spoken. It's really true for the entire show. Cast, characters, writers - everything was perfect.
Never been a fan of the Andy Griffith show.
ReplyDeleteI liked him better as Mr. Ferley.
ReplyDeleteIsn't "uvula" one of those dirty words you can get banhammered for saying around HABOTN? Are you guys taking advantage of the fact that Jay G isn't around? Shame on you.
ReplyDeleteIt's Puppet Hour! Anything Goes!
ReplyDeleteGuys, I want to formally apologize for not being an Auburn Man and running Puppet Hour the way it should be run in the last few weeks. Work has just been too busy. Hopefully I can get back on the right track here soon.
ReplyDeleteIf you all want me to just leave, I would understand.
You kids are getting complacent! Get up! It's HOG WEEK!
ReplyDeleteGet in the poll, and now you're getting soft!
They don't care what you're ranked out there! They think you're reading your press clippings and blog droppings!
Puppet hour can commence until kickoff at which time adult talk starts. Enjoy the next couple of hours.
ReplyDeleteHard for me to get complacent when Explosions In The Sky (music from the under armour commercial) is playing on my pandora right now. I'm ready for toe to meet leather on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a uvula
ReplyDeleteYou should've heeded the words of Chevy Chase:
ReplyDeleteIt'll behoove you to care for your uvula.
Isn't "toe meet leather" no longer apropos since the advent of the "soccer-style kicker?" After all, you don't kick with your toes anymore.
ReplyDelete"Soccer-style kicker": a great phrase from the 1970s. I wonder who Auburn's last "straight-on" kicker was.
THT? Any answers?
Who was kicking prior to Neil O'Donoghue? I believe Jorge Portela followed him, and then we've had "sidewinders" since.
Jet, I still think toe meets leather even with the soccer style. Is it still really leather, though?
ReplyDeleteAs far as "straight-on" kickers goes, I know Florida had one just a couple of years ago under Meyer. Kind of freaked me out.
More like "the bridge of your foot meets leather"
ReplyDeleteYou know "the side of your foot meets pigskin" just doesn't have the same ring to it does it.
ReplyDeleteand that's what happens when you strat to think in the same mode as Michale
ReplyDeleteSo, when there was the kicker that had the club foot, what did the announcer say?
ReplyDeleteNub meets leather?
ReplyDeleteNub meets leather...would the ACLU approve?
ReplyDeleteI had half a thought of trying to make the drive home, but evidently the Atlanta insterstate system has become a demolition derby venue according to the traffic site.
ReplyDeletemytommy where is your commute to and from?
ReplyDeleteEddie,
ReplyDeleteAll I know is that the "mike man" cheerleader said "Boom it, Lewis! Boom it!"
Well, time to shut the ol' computer down and go home to pack up for FayetteNam.
ReplyDeleteAccording to FB, J Gizzle is not having a good day.
Lawrenceville to Vinings. The morning ride usually isn't too bad as long as I can get going before 6:30. Evening drive is always bad. Well mostly always.
ReplyDeleteAnyone remember (okay this was during the 80's) the mike man misspelling "Auburn" for the pregame spellout? The band wasn't quite sure what to do.
ReplyDeletemytommy- Your drive is almost as bad as mine. I work in Stone Mountain and live in Villa Rica. We should do lunch one day. We are not far apart.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan Eddie. I have a feeling we pass each other many times during the week
ReplyDeleteVilla Rica to Stone Mountain ... I think I might have to either move, or find another line of work. I have a feeling these past couple of weeks have been spectacular for you with all the flood problems
ReplyDeleteFor sure. I bet we do! only one way in and out to that area.
ReplyDeletemytommy- the week of the flood I had to practically go to Kennesaw and then to work. I had a great 3.5 hour drive one day.
ReplyDeleteUltimate plan is to move as soon as we can to Marietta. Wife works at Kennesaw state and we go to church in Marietta along
with other friends in the area. Moving to Villa Rica was a terrible idea on our part.
Jet- YOu are correct. Jay G seems to be having a great trip to Tulsa today.
ReplyDeleteVilla Rica is a swell location otherwise.
ReplyDeleteCan someone turn the page?
ReplyDeleteI'm too sleepy to do it.
ReplyDeleteVilla Rica is nice....if we worked close by. We were both working down town originally when we moved here.
ReplyDeleteWDE.
ReplyDelete
