Toe meets leather at 6:45 p.m. CDT on ESPNHD.
I'm heading up through Bammerham, Fort Payne, that weird area in Georgia where the mortuary dumped cadavers in a pit, Chattanooga, Ooltewah and, finally, Knoxville.
I'll wave as I pass by your home.
I'll check back once I arrive at HABOTN's Tennessee Headquarters in west Knoxville.
War Eagle....Beat UT
ReplyDeleteBeat 'em with substance!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, missinit!
ReplyDeleteWell hello ladies!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Aero! How's the coffee?
ReplyDeleteGoing up 85-285-75 through (around) Atlanta is shorter.......
ReplyDeleteLong time lurker, first time poster. Glad you are heading to the game Jay G. We will need your experience today. This should be a great experience for our young/new guys.
ReplyDeleteMorning cincy and Aero...
ReplyDeleteIt's a good day to beat UT, don't you think?
Safe travel to all on the way to Tennessee!
As usual, I am jealous!
I'm jealous. Wish I was heading there too. The weather is going to perfect for stomping old Rocky Top. WDE!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to flash the gang signs as you pass Gadsden, AL...
ReplyDeleteThe coffee is smooth. It's awakening, and yet not jittery.
ReplyDeleteI'd rate it 7ish out of 10.
Welcome Ham. Glad you joined us. War Eagle!
ReplyDeleteThanks Scotty for rivergate... Nine.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Ham! HABOTN is a great place to play!
ReplyDeleteWar eagle from Knoxville! Big thanks to Scottie for hooking us up with a place to hang.
ReplyDeleteFirst things first HamTiger, WAR EAGLE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to HABOTN!!!!!!
Quit your lurking and jump right on in.
*nice...
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle Kristina! So glad you got to go to the game.
ReplyDeleteD,
ReplyDeleteJay G knows that route is shorter, he's probably just opting for the cultural experience that this alternate route provides...
The Ham, Ft. Payne, and Ooltewah all in one day - now who couldn't pass that up!
Jay will be living my life from the 90's today on that journey...
Aero....my 'puter needs some of your coffee this AM!
ReplyDeleteSloooow as molasses!
JGT - if you went the 85 route, you could have picked up James in Auburn, and me in Marietta. James wouldn't even need a ticket - we could just drop him and his achy liver off about 30 miles from the stadium like the last road game at Knoxville........
ReplyDeleteWave as you pass Exit 238 heading up
ReplyDeleteI-65...
Kristina,
ReplyDeleteYell for me! I am so jealous. Hope you have a wonderful time and bring home a AUsome victory!!
Jay,
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip my man. Pretty day for football. Visit the infamous body farm on the campus of UT where they bury bodies for research and crime school. Did you know there are actually crime class rooms inside the stadium with cadavers for research. Weird. also such a beautiful view of the water, pretty stadium. Try Quarters, where beer is well a quarter all the time, with a million quarters glued to the wall, they wont come off I have tried. War Eagle and be safe.
P.S.
Dont stand too close to Smokey he likes to dry hump your leg.
Thanks for the warm welcome. The HABOTN has been my source for all things AU for a year or so now. Feeling fairly liberated for having broken the silence.
ReplyDeleteIs this week's episode of AU:Everyday not online yet?
ReplyDeletegame day big game tonight
ReplyDeleteWatching AU-MSU cutups here
ReplyDeleteNeed a lot more coffee to figure out wth is going on with OL. I feel sorry for the opposing Ds.
Buhbye Monte'
65-259-559-24-70 is a prettier drive.
ReplyDeletePlus, you spend less time in Georgia.
Welcome to the fun, Ham. You're not a spy from Iowa, are you?
PDWT!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jet...not a spy from Iowa. Just a Tiger in the Ham.
ReplyDeleteDMiller, episode 5 of the show is online.
ReplyDeleteOne of the prettiest drives there is, especially this time of year....
ReplyDeleteMorning all....it is beautiful here in the Great Smokey Mountains!!
ReplyDeleteHeading into Knoxville to meet the UT family this afternoon.
I see a lot of AU people already. Gonna be a long wait.
I never been to Gatlinburg, until lastnight. It is like going to the beach without the beach.

ReplyDeleteI think they did it to pay tribute to the Boston College player who is coming back from cancer.
ReplyDeleteI think the GameDay location was selected for the BC linebacker (Defensive player of the year in 07) who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last year. Earlier this week, doctors informed him he was cancer free
ReplyDeleteOoltewah holla!!!
ReplyDelete6-0 and numero uno in 6A.
Thanks for filling me in on that situation...please disregard te insensitive comment
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about it ham, at first glance the choice does seem odd.
ReplyDeleteE-Bro,
ReplyDeleteRhea County since moving up to 6-A by a total of 17 students over the number is a horrible 1-4 after going 10-3 last year in 4-A.
1-5, sorry.
ReplyDeleteYeah, just chasing kids around the house and passed in front of the tv and saw bc and fsu helmets and was thought it was an odd choice. Clearly an awesome tribute to that young man. Just caught a piece of the story...great piece.
ReplyDeleteYeah RK, that's curious to me too. The new alignment has thrown me off in general. Won't be pretty when they head to the Owl's Next next week.
ReplyDeleteAlso want to give a shoutout to Fort Payne, hometown of me and Eddie's padre, the orginal Auburn Tiger of this family.
ReplyDeleteOwl's Nest, not Owl's Next.
ReplyDeleteNo, it won't be pretty next week.
ReplyDeleteAt least I never lost to Ooltewah, but funny how things change 15 years.
When you pass by the Collinsville exit, yell really loud, and it will jump across to Centre ... my parents' home and home of the Cherokee County Warriors, undefeated in 4A.
ReplyDeleteBut not my favorite team. My favorite team is the Fightin' Smeltzers of Saint James -- 5-1 after their fourth straight 4th quarter win! Four wins in a row by a total of 9 points.
Does anyone know if Andrew Palmer is on scholarship?
ReplyDeleteBecause Corso isn't a big enough idiot ... Matt Millen on the set of GameDay.
ReplyDeleteWe should certainly beat UT, but that stadium looks intimidating. I hope those 31 Tigers who never played before this season don't pay it any mind.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I don't remember Stanford and AU playing this season.
ReplyDeleteFort Payne, home of 'Alabama'.....nothing like listening to an Alabama song from the 80's driving down a country road on a fall afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThe day is finally here!!
ReplyDeleteStanford is avg 41 yds per KO return and is giving up -1 yd per punt return.
ReplyDeleteOoltewah...One of my favorite places.
ReplyDeleteLet's Go, Red Wolves!
ReplyDeleteClap, Clap ... ClapClapClap!
Scott, my Dad was friends in high school with Randy Owen. Played baseball with him and graduated with him back in the late 60s.
ReplyDeleteFast forward thirty years to the late 90s and my Dad is in town in Fort Payne visiting some family at a local restraunt, and this man comes up to my Dad (who goes by Ed) and says, "Ed...is that you?"
It was Randy Owen. They hadn't talked since high school, but Randy Owen still remembered him. I always hear great things about what a wonderful person Randy Owen. My Dad's pretty special too.
This hallmark moment brought to you by E-Bro.
Yeah RK, I still have trouble getting my head around Ooltewah as a football power. My senior year, they "improved" to 4-6 right before they started becoming a perennial playoff team. I grew up with Ooltewah as a 1-9, 0-10 team, not a team that's made the state semis three times this decade.
ReplyDeleteTedy Bruschi in the house!! Man knows what Auburn is all about, and said that AU's offense can't be stopped. College Gameday crew picked AU across the board.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me nervous when those guys pick us.
ReplyDeleteWatchin' Iowa-Arkansas St on the Deuce. Statement game for the maizehuskers. Are you watchin' Jay G.?
ReplyDeleteOK, so much for that Arkansas State.
ReplyDeleteFunny how I went from completely apathetic to cheering against Iowa based on a few emails sent by the corpones. Thing is, I wouldn't be upset if Auburn fans sent similar emails in that situation. I'd think it was too early to be sending them, but I wouldn't be upset. Either way GO RED WOLVES!!!! You don't mess with Jay G Tate!
ReplyDeleteHam, I'd agree, but Tedy Bruschi sounded awesome talking about the Tigers. I'm pumped.
ReplyDeleteJay G's driving. He's not watching.
ReplyDeleteEarlier today Corso was talking about Auburn not getting any respect. Ironic! He did say he had Auburn in his top 25.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a huge problem with them sending emails, even if I agree it was way too early. It was bringing that noise on to a blog that had nothing to do with them that was annoying.
ReplyDeleteHope they are right... would love to see the Tigers come home with a win. Now, first things first, let's go Wildcats.
ReplyDeleteIt was Herbstriet that said he had us in his top 25 when they were talking about it.
ReplyDeleteI don't care who wins any of the other games today, but I really really want us to win tonight.
ReplyDeleteIn the end I agree RK, there is only one game that matters.
ReplyDeleteI missed all of that. Jay G had deleted it by the time I ever got to it. Oh, ecvept the LU. That was annoying. It was mainly the emails and name calling of my hero.
ReplyDeleteWERK, so did Corso. They were all giving Auburn love.
ReplyDeleteI had a vision last night. I saw Coleman taking Crompton out of the game early. After this vision, I must ammend our strategy for the game. Do not hit Crompton. Huge Crompton and place him lovingly on the ground.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with Ingram's celebration. Was he poppin' a squat?
ReplyDeleteWow, Kentucky is making Bama's defense look doable.
ReplyDeleteKentucky is probably not good enough to beat UA-T even if they play smart. But playing STUPID! What are they thinking?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad UNC wasn't in the pick'em. I wouldn't have wanted to pick against them..again.
ReplyDeleteWhen they do close-ups on the field of the Penn @ Dartmouth game, I'm convinced that Dartmouth's Sprint-turf needs mowing
ReplyDeleteTHT, that sounds nasty:)
ReplyDeleteKentucky doesn't appear to be giving Bama the proper respect. Have they heard how many national championships Bama has?
ReplyDeleteEvery time I start watching the UK-bammer game, UK starts messing up.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm gonna stop watching the game. Go Cats!
iowa 14 Arkansas state 7 at the half. That's why JGT ranked them as such.
ReplyDeleteKentucky is Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell just happened?
ReplyDeleteBEASLEY!!!
ReplyDeleteAero - I got on a phone call with Apple, it was 7-6. I hang up 5 minutes later and it was 21-6. No offense to FSJ, but I felt like puking.
ReplyDeleteWe are playing like crap.
ReplyDeleteI am a little late getting started today, but welcome Ham Tiger. Glad you decided to jump in to the HABOTN mix. Go Tigers, beat the Vols. WAR EAGLE everyone.
ReplyDeleteAnd THT..glad my team is making you want to puke!
ReplyDeleteFSJ, Hatechu, Sincerely, Aeronaut!
ReplyDeleteYou do know that I am just kidding, right?
ReplyDeleteNo need to kill the thread, you evil sabanite!
Aero,
ReplyDeleteWatsup?
Oh..I know it was a joke..
ReplyDeleteFSJ,
ReplyDeleteHate cha but love your little daughter. I hope she grows up and becomes Auburn's homecoming queen someday.
How can a team with as much talent as my team has on scholarship be as poor on special teams?
ReplyDeleteFSJ,
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Saban coach special Teams? Get another coach.
Bobby Williams...
ReplyDeleteI believe I could do as good of a job...We are terrible on ST.
That last TD is directly related to them starting at midfield.
Good Afternoon, IV.
ReplyDeleteHey, IV,
ReplyDeleteI was asking about you yesterday. We've been missing you!
War Eagle Aero.
ReplyDeleteI guess Auburn will be the one that deflates the evil empire.
ReplyDeleteGo Duke, beat VT.
great Amp energy commercial for tonights ESPN game.
ReplyDeleteFSJ said "We are terrible on special teams"
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd convert to Auburn sooner or later! Congratulations!
So Iowa is winning convincingly over the might Arkansas State 24-21 late in the fourth quarter
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to see Kentucky provide an example of how quickly stupid moves can turn a game.
ReplyDeleteIowa 24 Arkansas St 21 with 2 minutes left. Onside kick coming.
ReplyDeleteDare I say some interesting Big 10 finishes on the ESPN family of networks and the Big 10 channel
ReplyDeleteJay, I am seriously upset that you don't have Arkansas State ranked higher. I mean, they are hanging with Iowa and Iowa beat Penn State. Has anyone told you that. Iowa did beat Penn State. And Northern Iowa is about as good as Iowa so them, Arkansas State, and Iowa should all be ahead of Penn State and likely top 10 teams. Admit it, admit it. You are just a maize hater.
ReplyDeleteArkansas State is A-maizing!
ReplyDeleteNo way should a team that nearly lost to Northern Iowa and Arkansas State should be sniffing the top 25. They should even be allowed to talk to people who know people who are in the top 25.
ReplyDeleteAlright, we've had our fun. Iowa is going to win this. Let's turn out focus away from what some Big 10 school does and start getting ready for the main course tonight in Knoxville with an appetizer of UGA-LSU in twenty minutes.
ReplyDeleteIowa beats Arkansas State!!! Iowa beats Arkansas State!!! Iowa beats Arkansas State!!!
ReplyDeleteIowa talk is henceforth banned.
ReplyDeleteAnybody with me on that?
War Arkansas St.....do all those corn lovers still think their top 25 material
ReplyDeleteTime to watch UGA beat down LSU and bring reality to the bayou.
ReplyDeleteMy God have mercy on Rich Rodriquez.
ReplyDeleteNo such luck, E-Bro ... they got what we want ... 5-0!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sucking Michigan now we have room to get in the top 25
ReplyDeleteWell that stinks. They showed VT 40 Duke 19 on TV AND on the Yahoo pick'em. Now a few minutes later, VT is back to 34 which does not cover the spread. I stink at pick'em.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks a lot Michigan, you turds.
Man, why isn't Arkansas State in the top 10? Man, they did better than Penn State did against Iowa. Arkansas State gets no respect.
ReplyDeleteForcier's pass in OT was uglier than a Yankee girl who won't shave her pits.
ReplyDeleteI am getting destroyed on pickem. That will teach me to pick cornpones.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I have collapsed at pick'em. I was SECOND before last week. After posting one of the worst records of the season last week, I am at it again. 0-4.
ReplyDeleteThe again, the best performers so far have only picked 1 correctly so far.
ReplyDeleteToledo 37 Ball State 30
ReplyDeleteSteveFC - you may have started 0-3, but you are on a roll now, back to 3-3 with MiamiO covering.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Georgia didn't come out in their funeral attire.
ReplyDeleteEmpty seats in Athens.
ReplyDeleteHairy Dawg runs over a cheerleader as the team runs on the field.
Les the Hat is crazy in pre-game interview!
I should have never went with the cornpones. I don't know what I was thinking.
ReplyDeleteThey're playing my ring tone at Sanford Stadium!
ReplyDeletesomebody answer the phone!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, when we beat Tennessee today it will bring our streak over them to 5 games, which is the longest streak for either team in the series.
ReplyDeleteCommon Dawg!!! This is the SEC, which stands for not for long when you make plays like that.
ReplyDeleteEmpty seat? Like wear the band sits? Yeah, those are currently unattended. Lots of purple and gold in the 600s.
ReplyDeleteVerne: "He can't quite get loose."
ReplyDeleteBut then acknowledges it was a 16-yard return.
Verne, you are better than that.
Snacks, look at the upper deck.
ReplyDeleteOh, I see. Fraternity blocks. Those will fill in. They're usually empty at kickoff.
ReplyDeleteGeez, I've spent too much time in that stadium when I know they crowd patterns.
What a stupid move to bring that interception out of the endzone.
ReplyDelete97 yd td pass wasted
ReplyDeleteIf Georgia learns how to spell defense, they win this game.
ReplyDeleteI'm hearing sad news about Spencer Pybus...that docs are telling him he should consider hanging up the pads after his 2nd concussion in a short span of time
ReplyDeleteI don't really care what that kid / guy / Iowa fan acted like on here.
ReplyDeleteIowa has a legit gripe.
TFWIW.
Hate to hear that, but it is likely good advice. Concussions will mess you up bad.
ReplyDeleteIowa shouldn't even be sniffing the top 25. They won 1 impressive low scoring game, but haven't looked impressive in any of their other games.
ReplyDeleteOh boy. That's not good news for Pybus. He should put the pads down, get on medical and focus on schooling.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember the exact figures, what does it take? 4 concussions for someone to become a bammer?
Aeronaut they beat NIU 17-16 and should have lost if it wasnt for a special ed kicker for NIU, and they just played Arkansas State (1-3) and won 24-21
ReplyDeleteGeorgia is going to have to show some offense or their defense isn't going to hold up.
ReplyDeleteUGA defense is baaaaaaaaaaad
ReplyDeleteBeasley is still a Tiger.
ReplyDeleteSorry steve but no matter what, penn state has looked a LOT worst in their wins.
ReplyDeleteIt does not suite you, as an Auburn fan, to diss another team just because of one fan.
And lol @ calling 21-10 a low scoring game.
To the Tigers:
ReplyDeletePlay me some mountain music
Like grandmaw and grandpaw used to play.
Then float me down the river
To an AU victory celebration.
Northern Iowa and Arkansas State nearly beat Iowa. Iowa needs to forget the top 25 until they learn to play offense.
ReplyDeleteNice push-off, A.J.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSteveFC who claims "I am getting destroyed on pickem", has taken the overall lead, I think.
ReplyDeleteI need to take some poor mouthing lessons from him.
Screw Iowa. Bammers of the maize picking region. :-)
ReplyDeleteLead? I am at 0.500 at the moment, and Penn State is sucking butt against Illinois.
ReplyDeleteThis game is boring
ReplyDeleteoverall lead, SFC, not just this week.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me where I can get immunized against the "stupid virus" that caused me to switch my GA/LSU pick last night?
Hmmm, thought I was like 5th overall or something like that.
ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteYou and Freep tied for first at the moment. I predict I am going to drop like a stone based on the performances so far.
SteveFC - you were tied for the overall lead with Freep, and Freep only has 1 of first 6 correct.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, looks like it updated since the last time I looked. I watch the weekly thing more anyways.
ReplyDeleteCincy and ehyou seem to be hangling tough.
ReplyDeleteYou people are making me nervous. With all of those terrible picks and you picked Auburn tonight I am sure, you are making me so nervous.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia looks very beatable to me. Not sure about the corn dogs though.
ReplyDeleteJawJa's offense isn't looking as good as what I anticipated.
ReplyDeleteI guess that all of the Hotties in Knoxvegas are getting a little rowdy by now.
ReplyDeleteWarm reagards from suburban Knoxville. Heading to that stadium at 4 cdt. We'll get it going around 5:30 cdt.
ReplyDeletePiece!
Glad you arrived safely, JayGT!
ReplyDeleteIf I am Miles, I go for this.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Georgia ball.
ReplyDeleteWhat is up Hotties? Welcome to Ham. The missus, the future 4* and I had a nice morning at Six Flags today and have made it back to the house well in advance of my previously established deadline. Watching the LSU/UGA game now, looking forward to tonight's game as well as our matchups against these two teams on display here.
ReplyDeleteKeep Hate Alive!
I like our chances against both of these teams. Neither offense impresses me.
ReplyDeleteDang, I hate getting called out by my fellow HOTTIEs for pickem suckiness.
ReplyDeleteBut I deserve it.
Ah well, on to more important topics:
HATE UT NOW AND AVOID THE RUSH!
The Hat needs to realize that they can't run up the middle for short yardage. How come when I want GA to win they stink and when I want them to lose they look unbeatable? They are good for nothin'.
ReplyDeleteMy worst picks are usually the SEC. Wonder why?
ReplyDeleteIV,
ReplyDeleteYou going to try to make a game on the Plains this year?
Freep, I think you're still in the top 3 overall!
ReplyDeleteJay G.,
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it safely. Hope the trip wasn't to bad and that you are ready to report a big Auburn win tonight. Tell all the Hotties there to yell extra loud for all of us at home Hotties.
Good game going in South Bend with the Irish up 16-14 with 3 minutes to go in the first half.
ReplyDeleteGO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cincy,
ReplyDeleteYes. I am eyeballing either the Ole Miss or the homecoming game (Furman). I am leaning toward the Furman game even though it is a lesser opponent, I enjoy the homecoming atmosphere.
Well Ball State didn't make us look too good today did they? BS put up 30 points on the Toledo defense just as they did on ours.
ReplyDeleteMy stomach is doing flip flops. I am already anxious about the game tonight. And we are negotiating on the condo in Auburn. We are waiting to see if they will accept our counteroffer. I am so nervous I can hardly stand it.
ReplyDeleteIf we do get it, we hope to have possession by the Ole Miss game.
IV,
If you come for one of those games I hope you will come see us. We will be directly across the street from Lowder. Everyone is invited!
Cincy,
ReplyDeleteYou aren't going to call me out on a game of cornhole are you? I am no good at games board or otherwise.
I feel something special coming. I feel a "did you see that?" game brewing.
ReplyDeleteThen a minute later I feel a sense of dread. But you can have that feeling even when good things are coming.
I think I'm going to puke.
Auburn in a rout.
War D. Eagle!!
PP,
ReplyDeleteI am so feeling it. I could throw up in a second! Not sure I can sit through our whole game and worry about the condo at the same time. It might just do me in!
IV,
ReplyDeleteYou'd love it! But, you will have fun just watching, too. That's usually what I do.
I was horrible at horse shoes before I found out that you are supposed to take them off of the horse first.
ReplyDeleteIV<
ReplyDeleteThanks for the levity - I could use it!
Aight .. I'm going to sleep.
ReplyDeleteYa'll have a good evening. See you folks tomorrow. Best of luck.
But seriously, if you can throw horseshoes, you can throw cornhole bags.
ReplyDeleteBC now up on F$U 21-6 at the half. Fun-lovin' Criminoles have 23 net rushing yards and have allowed 2 sacks.
ReplyDeleteEarlier this week our local newspaper printed a story on their offensive problems with the headline "FSU OL Struggles Come as Surprise"
Not to longtime AU fans.
At the library. Supposed to thinking about the elements of battery. Thinking about whether the front seven is going to step up or not.
ReplyDeleteAero,
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding - do you really have to sleep now? If so, sweet dreams.
Good night Aero, or wait, good morning. Have a great snooze.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia looking a little better.
ReplyDeleteI need them to win
ReplyDelete
