"Late" Night Chatter

Hey everyone. Evening interviews have ended. Here's the poop.

THE FIVE THINGS
  • Gus Malzahn is not anxious about going back to northwest Arkansas: ``I got a chance last year to do that (with Tulsa), so I felt that and all the distractions that come with that with friends and family asking for this and that. This is more of a business trip and the fact that I had that experience last year I think will definitely help this year."

  • Malzahn on Auburn's need to beef up red-zone production after problems at Tennessee: ``I think it's what you focus on and we need to work that much harder. We had a couple opportunities and we're very fortunate our defense was playing extremely well. We've got to find a way to score touchdowns. It was great to get some points, our kicker did a wonderful job, but as an offense we've got to find a way to score touchdowns when our defense gives us opportunities."

  • K Wes Byrum on his 2008 struggles: ``There wasn't really a low point, it was just after missing a couple, it just got tough. Overall, the team wasn't doing well and I wasn't helping at all on my end of it by putting points up on the board when we were struggling. It just got really tough as the season went on to keep missing as we were all struggling as a team."

  • Kodi Burns on last season's loss against Arkansas, which was the first without Tony Franklin: ``The whole year was a disappointment. That game in particular, we had several opportunities to get in the end zone and for whatever reason it didn't happen. That just showed the turmoil and the stress the whole team was under. We couldn't even score on four downs from the 3-yard line. We have another chance this year. Everybody is excited about that."

  • Mario Fannin on Malzahn's attitude this week: ``He's more intense. He's more energetic, and you can tell it's a matter of he wants everything to be perfect. So we understand that and we've got some guys from Arkansas."

BONUS QUOTE
  • Malzahn, who was jazzed about the team's last Tuesday practice, on today's workout: ``It probably wasn’t up to what last week was. We’ve got to come out tomorrow and Thursday and really focus in. At the same time, we threw a lot at them. Arkansas gives you a lot of different looks and we want to make sure we’re prepared."

    I'm the resident bammer.

  10. Thanks FSJ... I have to say that I don't care much for Bama but I come from a long line of Bammers... that includes parents, grandparents, etc. I clearly made the right choice for an institution of higher learning.

  11. There's a bad rumor on this blog that I am a closet Auburn fan...That is totally not true.

  12. Thanks everyone. Good to have finally broken through the silence barrier

  13. It doesn't show by the absurd amount of time you spend on here. Are you an active participant on any Bama sites?

  17. We have such magnetic people on this blog - FSJ can't help himself.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nice...has to be hard to keep up. Does anyone have any tips on keeping the thread current without having to refresh constantly? Sorry, fairly new to the posting part.

  29. Ham,
I use Safari and when I refresh it stays at the same place I was on the page. I keep it on the last post and when I refresh it goes back there and I can see what new has posted.

  30. That's what Chrome does too, Cincy.

  35. My son convinced me to buy a Mac earlier this year and I LOVE it. I will never go back to a PC if I can help it.

Did you have an awesome time at the TN game? It sounded like so much fun.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ham...go Mac and never go back.

  39. I had a fantastic time at the Tennessee game, Cincy. Scottie B definitely hooked us up! Glad we won my first away game!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Kathy..I've stayed in Slidell before for a football game but don't remember where.

We usually stay in New Orleans at the Wyndham on Canal.

  41. What are the odds that Tony the Angry Drunken OC doubles his production in the second half to end with 0 points?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sensi, I didn't mean what I said.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Nice show guys.

    Good call Steve.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sensi- is an idiot :)!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks Peter!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. PF, I was with you. We went more in depth on how Sensi has lost his mind:)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Man, is Sensi even online to defend himself, or is this a behind the back beat down?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I had to hang up 20 minutes in. I'll go back and podcast it. I wanted to be able to come back on and talk about Arkansas. I have opinions. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm distracting him on the phone. Let the beat down of Sensi continue!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Peter- I'm sorry man, I didn't realize that. Blame me on that. I would have put you back on for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  50. By not meaning what I said, I was lying about the part where I said I had nothing to back it up. I thought it would be more effective if I kept it simple. You can't argue with simple.

    ReplyDelete
  51. This is definitely going to be an interesting game because Arkansas' offense will test us in a different way than anyone has yet. I guess WV was the closest, but my gut tell me if you got a guy named Chizik on your staff and you have a one dimensional offense, you got problems.

    ReplyDelete
  52. No Eddie, I wanted to wait until you got to that part of the show. I planned on going back in the waiting area, but ended up having to hang up to dodge the pigs. Beat Arkansas.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Tiny bubbles.... Man, this watching the Franklin System operate is getting me a bit misty.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sensi, I'm just messing. You're a good bammer witch. I'm glad we're facebook friends.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anybody else smellin' bacon?

    ReplyDelete
  56. I expected us to be talking about if Ole Miss could upset Bama this weekend, but with the way Elroy has played, Bama looks to be better than last season. Ole Nutt is going to have issues.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Definitely not Kosher. Destroy the pigs.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Can i listen to yall online Eddie?

    is there a link?

    Evenin everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I do believe whoever wins the west will win the SEC, and that is likely Bama. Florida is too one dimensional and that Bama will beat Tebow up so much he will be looking for his little dog Toto before the game is over. Yea, okay, I am looking ahead a bit.

  60. AuNug...
Click on eddie's profile and there's a link to Insider. There will be a podcast.

    ReplyDelete
  61. AUNugget, click on Eddie's avatar and go to his blog. You will find all the links you need there.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Man, my Franklavision seems to be a bit fuzzy tonight. Where is the offense?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I actually had my first tinge of sympathy for Tebow. I see him coming back too soon and getting knocked the eff out against LSU. That could change that kid's life. I still hate him, though.

    ReplyDelete
  64. They are showing a picture of the MTSU head coach and he keeps glancing over at someone. This is about the time Franklin was fired last season. Could lightening strike twice?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Aunugget-

    Do as other's suggested or:

    www.auburnfootballinsider.com or:

    download Itunes.

    War Eagle

    ReplyDelete
  66. I don't look for Tebow to play against LSU. That was a serious concussion he got against Kentucky. If he doesn't want to spend the rest of his life eating fruit loops and watching the disney channel, he needs to take some time off.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Good night Hotties. Thanks for listening. Hope to get back in my HABOTN grove tomorrow. Dang work trying to interfer with it. Just give me the pay check.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Stuck in West Gomorrah ... had a decidedly mediocre meal at Tha Universitah Club.

Everyone of the Bammers spoke highly of Sensi. Only one conclusion possible.

    Sorry, Sensi.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Steve..

What is wrong with Fruit Loops and Disney?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Steve ... translate your 9:04 comment for me. I didn't quite follow you.

In other news, I think tonights showing should end this ridiculous CTF debate.

  71. Anonymous10:54 PM

Just got back in, gang. Thanks for being good sports.

    ReplyDelete
  72. PP, I was saying Chiz could stop the run. As for tonight, you saw the Tony Franklin System against the Tony Franklin System and somehow came to a conclusion?

    Sensi, always here for you:)
