  1. I'm # 1, not that school down the road.

  2. The HABOTN regrets the error.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Wifey and I watched Tulsa play last night. When dude from Houston lined up that final field goal, I told Wifey: "Zero percent chance he hits this."

It would have been good from 70.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Good job on the regret.

I think that kid hadn't hit from longer than 40 or something his whole career, that was clutch.

    ReplyDelete
  5. For all the conspiracy theorists out here:

Even if LSU gets the intereception, they still lose. They weren't moving the ball against Alabama at cruch time.

    ReplyDelete
  6. The bigger issue for LSU was losing Jefferson, then Scott. Otherwise, you're asking General Lee to beat the #3 team on the road. Just not gonna happen.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think Auburn could have beaten LSU without their QB and RB!

    ReplyDelete
  8. "Running backs coach Curtis Luper carried an American flag as he led the team onto the field to commemorate Veteran’s Day."

    Very nice!

  9. My dad is proud.

    Former Navy lieutenant commander.

  10. Oh my I see a no no!
Penn State picked higher than Iowa.
Say it ain't so. Didn't Penn State lose Sat?
Were are the Cornpones to disqualitfy this traversty.

  11. I still don't think TCU gets nearly the respect it deserves. I think they throttle Cincy and Boise St. and give Texas, Bama, and Florida all they can handle.

They're just a good football team, all the way around.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nobody throttles the blue turfers

    ReplyDelete
  13. digger, PSU lost and lost BIG. They don't deserve to be ranked higher than Iowa. They didn't even show up for a home game. They deserved to lose that game. My mom said that the game against PSU and Northwestern would have been A LOT closer if NW hadn't lost their starting QB. Iowa lost because they lost their starting QB.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Maybe not on the blue turf, but anywhere else, I think TCU wins by at least two touchdowns.

If the Kermits win out, they'll be in the BCS, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  15. no way, but I'd love to see them play.

    ReplyDelete
  16. They did play last year, and TCU won by a point. I don't think Boise St is as good as last year or 2006 and TCU is better than last year.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wasn't sure the Eagle was going to fly, they had a tough time getting the cage opened. Where I was sitting row 61 NE end Zone I was pretty close to where they let the eagle lose. But it was a beautiful site being that close.

    ReplyDelete
  18. My thought on PSU and Iowa:

Penn State lost to a good Ohio State team.

Iowa lost to an unranked and unrespected Northwestern team.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm with you Jay my comment was tongue in cheek to see if we had any Iowa fans still lurking.

    ReplyDelete
  20. morning. nice to see the guys respond yesterday. they could've went through the motions with their minds on UGA but they came correct. i'm excited about going to Athens this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I see through your transparency

    ReplyDelete
  22. Iowa fans......take that. Bama will losetk Florida. Florida is a better team that is starting to play really good football.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can't annoy y'all much today; still buried at work.

    TCU tops my poll.
    Go Horned Frogs!!!

    GO TIGERS!!!
    WARRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!

    BURN THE BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ...and I hate UA-T!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. For those of you that think overturning the call wouldn't have changed the game...

Who would have thought that Washington - a team that didn't win a game last season - would beat USC?

Who would have thought with the way UT played the first half of the season, they would be playing the way they are now?

Who would have thought that AU would have won their first 5 games and then lose the next 3 - looking like last year's teams in the process?

Who would have thought that Stanford would have beaten Oregon?

Strange things happen all the time in CFB. LSU earned - and therefore deserved - the right to at least try to change the outcome.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Also, PSU lost to a good OSU team because they didn't even show up. PSU is also a good team (maybe not worthy of their ranking)and should have played better than that at home. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. :-(

    ReplyDelete
  26. i bet the HIBOTN is up in arms today.

    hooray!

    ReplyDelete
  27. OK now I am torn... given the choice of ONE!!

Do we want Lache or Lattimore???

i double checked some of these schools websites,.. seems like they are legit mascots, even the orphans at the bottom of the list

  29. Ummm, what about the Oklahoma feel good vote? You didn't consider that, did you? And what about Iowa State? Where is the love? The beat Nebraska who beat Oklahoma. They beat the man who beat the man, which should give them a spot in the top 10.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Luv,

I just don't think Alabama's D was going to give LSU anything once they took the lead back.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Agreed RK..

LSU had NINE yards total offense in the fourth quarter.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anyone watch Dyer on TV the other night? How did he look?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I watched a little of Dyer and like how he looks. Think of a pinball. He is short but packs a lot of meat and quickness. He should be a great power back.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If he has good shiftiness and can run through people, he'll do quite well in Malzahn's world. Especially with Rollison at QB, who is a huge threat to run.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Looks like we are back in at #25 in the coaches poll.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good.

    Y'all should be ranked.

    ReplyDelete
  37. We should have won at least one out of Arkansas, Kentucky, and LSU. That stretch is why I am not sure how good this team is. When it is good, it can be very good, but when it is bad, it gets ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Chelsea can below me. They're like Bama in blue.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I want Texas to win it all

    the SEC is rigged

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jerraud Powers with an INT

    ReplyDelete
  41. I don't like Chelsea. Yuck.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Anonymous1:17 PM

It's not that I have a problem with Bama being #1...they're as deserving as the next team.

BUT in 2004 the consensus argument was that OU and SC started the season @ #1 and #2 and until they lost they should stay there.

Whatever rationale people want to use...OK, whatever, but be consistent. Not a rant against you Jay, but people justify in different ways depending on the year.

That's why I'm for a conference champion tournament featuring 6 teams from the BCS conferences and two at large bids from mid-majors and independents. Then the silly notion that we can vote for the best team will be a thing of the past.

    ReplyDelete
  43. How on Earth did you rank Iowa that low, you hack!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Jason, I've been pimping that idea for years now.

Only BCS conference champs + two highest ranked non-BCS teams allowed. Seed the teams 1-8 according to BCS standings, and have the higher seeded teams host the lower on their home fields for the first two rounds. That way you reward the higher-ranked teams (and their fans, and hometown economies) with extra home games.

Play the first two rounds on the two Saturdays prior to Christmas. The last two teams standing face off in the BCSCG, while the BCS Bowls get their 'traditional' conference matchups from those who lose in the playoffs.

    What's not to like?

  45. I assume e-bro and Jay are hating on the European soccer team and not the city in Shelby County.

Don't make me come down there.....

    ReplyDelete
  46. That is correct Hornet.

I'm hatin' me some Chelsea Blues today.

Not as much as I hate me some Dawgs, though.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jay, what are your peers smoking? How is Oregon ranked below USC in both polls?

  49. BTW- I HATE GEORGIA!!!!

    Beat the Leghumpers!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Playoff? PLAYOFF!?!

    I don't care diddly-poo or dinky-doo about a PLAYOFF! PLAYOFFS!?!?

All I care about is beating those no-heart, jersey-switchin', helmet-changin', pants-droppin', worthless, shiftless, witless, gutless LEG HUMPERS!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Southern Cal still in the top 20? With bama at #1, I assume your ballot factors in SEC Officiating.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I too thought is was a nice jester for Coach Luper to lead the team out like that. Ironically, I was an air traffic controller at Ft. Rucker in the early 70's so at least we have something in common. Jay, watching that Tulsa game last night, I felt the same way. It was like a Hollywood script the way it played out. Good game.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Don't get me wrong... I like beating UGA as much as anybody, but I just can't bring myself to hate them the way I do uat, UF, and LSU. I guess I'll go ahead and admit that I was a big fan of Vince Dooley back in the day too. Mark Richt and his gimmick uniforms, not so much, but I blame Bobby Bowden for corrupting him.

    ReplyDelete
  54. This week, I hate UGA. Other weeks, not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hottie Tailgate in Athens? I'll come bearing gifts.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I like Ivan Maisel just fine, but I wish his Crimson wouldn't show as much as it sometimes does.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jet,

I laughed out loud. Definitely one of your best, most hatin' post. Also, I was in the Gump a week ago when I saw a suburban with an Auburn tag that said Ggrrr. Is that you Jet? It reminded me of you.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Vegas lists us as 4 1/2 point underdogs in Athens Saturday

    ReplyDelete
  59. Load up on Auburn if that is the case.

    ReplyDelete
  60. J-Z- Try living in Georgia and see how much you like the leg humpers... I promise you your hate will grow quickly and with fervor!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Dear Curtis:

    I have USC at 20.

Among the 60 voters in the AP poll, only one has USC lower than me. So if you wanna mouth, first mouth at the 56 voters who have the Trojans higher than me.

I'm almost the last guy on your list.

    Love,
    jgt
