Afternoon update, 12/17

Hey everyone. I have returned from practice, which was almost completely uneventful. I am working on video now. Keep expectations low.

    ALSO OF NOTE:
  • Eric Smith was not at practice. There has been talk that he no longer is with the team, though I have not been able to confirm that. It's odd that Smith isn't at practice, sure, but that doesn't mean anything until Gene Chizik comments after practice.

  • Barrett Trotter, who is coming off left knee surgery, looked off today. His throws were all over. He's clearly still getting used to that repaired knee.

  • As expected, Auburn gained three signees today: DL Craig Sanders, LB Jessel Curry and OT Brandon Mosley. Another major player, OT Roszell Gayden from a California junior college, also will make a decision today. Chizik missed practice Sunday because he was in California meeting with Gayden.

  5. I am puzzled by the Eric Smith thing... unless he lied to CGC... i do nto get it..

either way, if true, it is sad because he had a bright future in football.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Loosing Eric Smith would be big, but if Chizik must lay the smackdown, so be it. Fear the Chiz!!!

  7. FSJ... not a lot of SABAN love in the Korea Town.... my wife went to LSU....

  8. I am hoping Eric Smith is the Ben Tate replacement, at least early on next season. He appears to be very versatile, which fits into the offense nicely.

Chizik is becoming the leading kicker on the team.

  10. I would find it strange the Smith would be kicked off the team if Chizik isn't in Auburn. I would expect him to do that personally.

No, no, no. Read. Slowly. Read. Read. Sound out the words if you have to. Ask a friend for help. Asshat.

  12. Congrats on another pointless post, PF. You are a beacon of futility.

    ReplyDelete
  13. More pointless than the one you made to point out the pointlessness of my post? Especially considering my post was spot on? Did you find your mistake yet?

    ReplyDelete
  14. ...and I'm a beacon of Awesomness.

[okay, that one was kinda pointless, but it doesn't bother me. People don't read my posts, anyway.]

    ReplyDelete
  15. there's a good bit of irony at play here. I'm a huge fan of irony.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Keep trying. Think.

    ReplyDelete
  17. DL must have really big stockings

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ha. You still haven't figured it out yet, have you?

    ReplyDelete
  19. And for those of you that are on Verizon and are interested in smart phones..

The Palm Pre' should be coming to Verizon soon..

    VZW

Faker's take: Web OS is super slick......Great user experience. The build quality of the initial batch of Pre's that I tested this summer was subpar..Maybe Palm has fixed that issue.

  20. Scout is reporting - or at least they show Gayden on the recruits list as a Tiger.

  21. No, I have no idea why I would care. Whether I type the or that doesn't concern me. And for the life of me, I can't understand why it would concern you, unless you are just a stupid little kid with nothing better to do. So no, I have no idea why you are willing to make such an idiot of yourself over a word or why you would even think I would care.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Nothing to do with a typo... and you calling anyone an idiot over such matters is laughable. You are possibly the biggest hypocrite on the internet. Ever...

Anyway, let's move on...why don't you repeat something you typed yesterday after ripping it off from another Auburn site without giving any credit. We'd love to hear it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The wagon train will get Coach Chizik back to Auburn very soon. It's a long way from Californy.

    ReplyDelete
  24. FSJ, do you know anything about the Palm Pixi? I have seen that it also runs WebOS, but I don't know much about it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. PF, I answered your question. If you don't like the answer, don't ask the question.

    ReplyDelete
  26. And as for me typing something I ripped off from another website, that is just another lie.

    ReplyDelete
  27. SC, Stetched Wagons are the preferred mode of transport.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If you can't confirm that Eric Smith is no longer with the team, why on earth are you reporting it?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Steve,

The Pixi is a candybar type of phone where the Pre is a slider.

The screen is a little smaller on the Pixi and it doesn't include wifi..

That's about the extent of my knowledge on it.

It' s supposed to be very thin though.

  30. Tyrik Rollison has this to say via Facebook:

``Tyrik Rollison this is tha start of something new. It's up to me to choose who I wanna be."

  31. Roman, doctor, I am reporting that he's the only varsity player not at practice.

I consider that blog-worthy. You may not. You're welcome to read another blog, too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hope that answers your question.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks FSJ. The no wifi would make it a no go for me. I do like the candybar type. The sliders seem prone to breakage to me.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Would you two go ahead and get a room and get it over with. The tension between you two is starting to weird this place out.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Roman lied, said I reported that Eric Smith is off the team ... and I straightened that out.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sorry ... I've been out for a while. I was at the flagpole waiting on the PF-SFC smackdown. No one ever showed up, except for some stupid kid who stuck his tongue on the flagpole. I think his name was J-Z. And it was 50 degrees outside.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's a nice phone, though. I played around with one last weekend and enjoyed it. Much better construction than the Pre.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jay, it is very blog worthy, especially for a player that has already been in trouble. Hopefully it is just some personal issue, but we will have to wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm gonna go eat a pizza. The whole thing.

-this pointless post brought to you by The Frankenbummer.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks PF. The Pixi looked good to me too, although I have never actually held one. I wasn't impressed with the unique design of the Pre, although the presentations I have watched of the OS make it look pretty attractive.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My post was directed at Steve and Peter. Just to clarify...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Millertime,

Steve wants me to finish my surgery first. Hopefully, it'll go well and he'll approve.

    ReplyDelete
  44. So the fight was a no-show. Cowards!

    ReplyDelete
  45. For pete's sake, it's Puppet Hour, not Poindexter Hour.

    ReplyDelete
  46. So once you guys get married will it be "Peter Frankenbummer FC" or will it be "Steve FrankenbummerC"

    ReplyDelete
  47. Does Sprint have any phones that are Wi-Fi enabled now, anyway? I wasn't aware that feature was turned on on the Pre (not that I would even look into that, since I find their network plenty fast and the unlimited data plan works for me just fine)...or is the Pixi in wide release?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I just read that Jay G Tate's HABOTN supports same sex marriages and that one will occur between two of the ROF's sometime soon.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hope to never live in Columbia. It's dangerous there.

    ReplyDelete
  50. PF...

I'm almost positive the Pre is wifi enabled.

Sprint by far has the best plans...especially when you get into the unlimited plans.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Forensic accountability means Steve is in deep do.

PF is everyone crashing your crib for the Outback?

    ReplyDelete
  52. yep, it does FSJ. I just didn't realized it was enabled on the Sprint version.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't know if wifi is enabled on the Sprint Pre or not. That is a good question. Personally, I use a cheapo phone at the moment because it supports dual numbers. I use to have a Treo, but I am intrigued my phones that support wifi.

    ReplyDelete
  54. EasyEd, I'd gladly host folks, but I'm getting married the night before several hours away. Won't be anywhere near the gulf coast for a few days after the game.

    ReplyDelete
  55. More phone talk... GEEZ

I want to thank you for the smoke signals today JGT. They were very helpful while I was driving all over town.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I am satisfied with the prices at sprint, although I use my cell phone rarely these days. I haven't travelled in over a year, so I haven't really needed it.

Some of you might be interested in Google Voice, something I learned about from a co-worker. It is free and is a unique new concept. They assign you a phone number. You can map that number to multiple numbers. In other words, some dials that number and your home, work, and cell phone all ring. I am loving it. There are other neat features, but I haven't played with them much yet.

    ReplyDelete
  57. What, you're married? You meet her at pilates?

Just tell us where you are leaving the key!

  58. Wedding crashers are encouraged if anyone's free NYE. Black Tie, so get your tux cleaned, or you'll stand out and people will figure out you weren't invited...

My single mission for the two days prior is to find Bobby Bowden and invite him. He's staying at the same hotel that we're having the reception.

  60. Oh, yes......soon to be "not jag town"

My tux fits everywhere but the waist.

  61. Veriozon's Pixi will have wi-fi, apparently.

I think the European versions already do (Sprint mentioned that the latest software update will come whenere they are in 3G or Wi-Fi range).

That should mean that the next run of the Sprint versions will follow suit.
