I can't believe I'm even writing this, but an Auburn freshman who didn't play this season -- there were seven, I think -- has drawn a suspension from coach Gene Chizik.
The suspendee: Quarterback Tyrik Rollison.
The sentence: Same as always. Who knows?
"We have high standards that we have set and fully expect our team to meet," Chizik said in a release. ``When these expectations are not met, I will make decisions based upon what is best for the entire football team and the Auburn Family.”
didn't see that substance coming...
ReplyDeleteGrades I hear. That sucks big time. Hopefully he gets his act together.
ReplyDeleteUnforeseen substance. . .a rarity amongst HOTTIEs.
ReplyDeleteGuess he'll be missing bowl practice. And perhaps the trip itself. That kind of sucks.
On the bright side, it appears that Gene Chizik Don't Take No Mess.
I like that, I do.
I think I'll be a Beaver man tonight.
ReplyDeleteI guess he shouldn't have been updating facebook or twitter or whatever it was he was updating about his time coming soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry about being a bit late on that. I was out and had no way of getting the on the blog before now.
ReplyDeleteSo it goes.
what the crap?
ReplyDeletei guess i'd rather him be suspended now rather than next year. good grief.
So is his new status update "my time has been delayed"?
ReplyDeletenice RK. nice.
ReplyDeleteWhy did he even announce anything would be my question. The kid wasn't going to play anyway.
ReplyDeleteFSJ,
ReplyDeleteI assume to prove a point. You screw up there are reprocussions.
Lol RK.
ReplyDeleteHow about all the rumors that Gardner quit UGA today. Still no official word whether he did or did not.
Message....Don't mess with Chiz!
ReplyDeleteNow is as good a time to send the message as any. If it is grades he has time to get it straight but he better buckle down.
Well if Rodney wants to come home, I'm sure we can find a spot for him coaching special teams or something.
ReplyDeleteI can say with 100% certainty this is a grades thing (well really, its more of an attendance issue than anything)
ReplyDeleteLets just say I have a class with him and know for a fact due to a conversation with the teacher that he failed the course due to absences.
Well there you have it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Jay G. Nice that I get a buzz through twitter about it. Unfortunately this suspension had been rumored early this week. I hate that the kid needs to be refocused already.
ReplyDeleteBen with the inside info...
ReplyDeleteWell he has some time to get his act together before next season, right?
He will find out this ain't high school and if he ever wants to see the field at Auburn he better get with the program.
ReplyDeleteWe'll find out what kind of kid he is with how he reacts to this.
ReplyDeleteSome respond and you never have another issue and for some it's a cronic problem.
Talk about your double standards. Slive applies more punishment to Auburn for Big Cat but Julio, et al can go fishing, etc with no other repercussions.

Oregon's uniforms are actually good looking, that is what they should always wear.
ReplyDeleteWell, if he wants to play in the NFL he will have to hit the books. If you don't play in college, you aren't playing in the NFL. Last tine I checked, all colleges actually require you to attend and pass. That is why college football is so great. You have to play it to advance to the next level. Only major sport that way. Sure, NBA now requires playing 1 season or waiting a year after high school, but you can play that one year while flunking out.
ReplyDeleteRead the same thing. Kid needs to attend class. What was he thinking?
ReplyDeleteI am doing the BCW stuff now. Check it out.
ReplyDeleteWell, the punishment is Correct for both schools. Auburn's was a university thing while Julio was an individual thing.
ReplyDeleteSuspend a kid who doesn't play.
ReplyDeleteIs that like breaking up with a girl you never dated?
Good grief. Why oh why did I start to read comments on al.com?
ReplyDeleteCould be Jay but if you tell a player he is suspended and remind him that his Scholly is year to year and can disappear if he dosen't get his act together it might make an impression.
ReplyDeleteI know Kristina, al.com a guy swore he got suspended for a fight, friend of a Phillip Lutz said he had to break up a fight with a player in a bar, but Ben says its grades first hand so thats good to hear.
ReplyDeleteWarning, the address below contains censored bad language, but is really funny.

...and some that isn't censored.
ReplyDeleteWell if he doesn't participate in bowl practice or travel with the team for a bowl, then it does have a big impact on him heading into the spring.
ReplyDeleteWell looks like there is a new thread I missed out on.
ReplyDeleteHoly Blackmon Batman!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it's grades, I could see that on the horizon when he signed.
