  1. Roundball substance.

  2. Seanzie... I go with Under on your % for DR... I think he shoots 28%. But, leads the team in scoring with 19 pts.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Ugly game so far. Too bad one team has to win.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Bigdaddy,

Who was drinking the Crazy Juice???

    ReplyDelete
  5. Reed- 10 pts, 2-9 from the field, 0-3 from the arc. 6-11 from the line. 1 Rebound, 1 Assist, 2 steals, 6 Turnovers.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Seanzie's POG: Tay Waller. 20 pts, 8-12 from the field, 3-7 from long range, 1-2 from the line, 5 rebounds, 4 steals.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Reed shoots his usual 30% (season and career) Point guard with a the worst FT% in the league.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Are Sean_C and Seanzie one and the same or different?

    ReplyDelete
  9. We're the same person.

    ReplyDelete
  10. So how's that hat tasting? :)

    ReplyDelete
  11. It's boiling as we speak...I'll let you know.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Some one said during the chat that Rivals and Scout had taken DJ Howard off of our commit list. From what I can see, they are still listed. Am I looking at the wrong thing?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm just glad we won - even if it was just a point!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Good run by Ben Tate.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ben Tate - nice run for the south.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's the word on the street Cincy. Speculation is he hasn't been forthcoming with his intentions...so if he was to take the visit to UK he is to choose between Clemson and UK and we will look elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I feel like I watched a replay of the Auburn vs. Mississippi 3-2 game from a few years ago.

    I'll take the win though.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Bad news for us...Bama seems to be getting better at Hoops and we're getting worse.

    ReplyDelete
  19. So now Howard is back listed as a commit...albeit a soft commit. I'm ready for signing day to get here.

    ReplyDelete
  20. True, but we won this one.

    ReplyDelete
  21. That we did. I had to clean up a whole Dr. Pepper I spilled when Reed made that steal at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Auburn looks just as bad in person. Their ball-handling "skills" are terrible, Reed is a ball hog and it seems that they don't practice any plays - because when they try to run one, they screw it up.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Glad you and your crew got to see a win, Luv.

    ReplyDelete
  24. But, Luv, at least you had to sit through that misery and come out with a win rather than a loss.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Great game to attend Luv! Sorry you had to sit in the nosebleed section.

Tebow is having a terrible game.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Cincy, true, very true!

    ReplyDelete
  27. OK, now that we have gotten beating bama out of the way, back to recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is it football season yet???

    ReplyDelete
  29. Almost, Luv, almost. Starts Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No news on recruiting end. Looks like the coaches are going with the hand they dealt (themselves). In poker if you like your hand, you stay pat. I think they like what they have and their chances of getting what they have.

    ReplyDelete
  31. is it dead period starting tomorrow? If so, is that no visits, no outgoing phone calls?

    ReplyDelete
  32. They can call all the recruits 1 time during the dead period.

    ReplyDelete
  33. ah, tomorrow is "quiet"

dead is Feb 1-4 (interesting that it goes through Thursday)

    ReplyDelete
  34. MrsTHT just called. I'm going to pick her up from work and give her the great bball news. (No one hates UA-T with as much unbridled passion as MrsTHT)

    ReplyDelete
  35. hate hate hate.....yelling rammer jammer was SOOO sweet after that game, War Eagle! It was ugly, but I'll take the W

    ReplyDelete
  36. sorry i missed the chat. we finally got some wireless service (temporarily).

    enjoyed the win today. WDE!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Seanzie-Correct this for me please.
No coaches visits at all from midnight tonight through signing day.
One phone call from a coach on Sunday.
Unlimited phone calls from coaches Monday through Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would think for the recruits sake no one would be able to call them or contact them in anyway for at least a couple of days before signing day. It has got to be intense.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Anonymous6:22 PM

wtc, not "Seanzie" but it is my understanding the coaches can make 1 call per week to each recruit during a dead period along with unlimited written communications. I don't know if this means each coach or 1 coach from an institution ...

    ReplyDelete
  40. I looked this up:

Quiet Period: Coaches can not have off-campus, in-person contact with recruits or parents. Coaches can not visit recruit's high schools or games. Recruits and their parents can make campus visits. Coaches can write or call recruits or parents.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Dead Period: Coaches can not have in-person contact with recruits or their parents. Coaches can call or write recruits or parents.

    ReplyDelete
  42. January 31: Quiet Period

February 1-4: Dead Period. [Note: Feb. 3 is "national signing day," the first day that recruits can sign a National Letter of Intent for their school of choice.]

    ReplyDelete
  43. There. That is clear as mud now.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Seems like quiet period and dead period are the same. I am sure there is a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous6:39 PM

Makes it much easier to understand :-)
Glad it's them instead of me trying to decode it ... thanks wtc

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think that's about right. I also think in the Quiet period you can have visitors at your school but not anywhere else. I thought there was a 1 call/recruit/week during dead period...I could be wrong about that.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Same, except the in-person, on-campus contact that's allowed during the quiet time.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I had Sloppy Joes ... the quiet period won't last long at my house.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i had cereal, aka comfort food.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Pizza delivery.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cereal and chocolate milk last night.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I have cereal for dinner when hubby is out of town.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Double chocolate chip cookies and Blue Bell vanilla ... later.

    ReplyDelete
  54. that's what I had yesterday, Norm!

several glasses of chocolate milk today, but not with my cereal.

oh heavens, MrsTHT is now on FB. Lots of my frat bros contacting/stalking her.

    ReplyDelete
  55. rub it in, Jet. I'm stuck with Breyer's

    ReplyDelete
  56. In one month my friend is bringing me Graeter's ice cream from Cincinnati!!! And then you will all be jealous!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I've got a half gal of Blue Bell Blueberry Cheesecake callin' my name.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well, the car is packed for Nashville. Now, if the roads will just cooperate.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I had a frozen Turkey dinner. Not good but not too bad.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I just finished a BK double cheeseburger that we picked up in Childersburg.

    ReplyDelete
  61. WTH? We won? Sheesh... how bad does bama suck?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Jet, your cookies and Blue Bell ice cream sounded wonderful! Were the cookies warm?

    ReplyDelete
  63. We do too, but the ones in Auburn are the best!

    ReplyDelete
  64. The ones in C'burg, not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Cincy,

You know you can order online and have Graeter's shipped to you, right?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Dan LeFevour is a better mobile QB than Tim Tebow.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Shhhh....don't tell Cincy that!!!! You know how she loves to order stuff online!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. It's not cheap, though. $10+/pint and comes in 6 pint packs.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I love to shop online, but I am also cheap! Graeter's is $4 a pint at the shop, $10 a pint shipped. I don't think so. I think 2 and a half times the cost is a little exorbitant. I'll wait for Gretchen to bring it to me.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Dave Brandt of Clarion Ledger says Patrick Nix may be in the mix for Ole Miss OC job and that Dave Radar is still a major candidate.

What's Patrick been up to the past year?

    ReplyDelete
  71. I don't know what he has been up to, but he and his wife are class acts. I really enjoyed the few times we got to spend time with them.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Luv ... they were just out of the oven.

It was nice get the win over the cousin humpers, but in now way am I any longer confident that Lebo can get the job done.

Auburn has better shooters than Alabama and Grant right now and that's how we won the game. However, Alabama had a plan moving up and down the court.

    A change is needed.

Yeah, sorry Jeff, but you got outcoached by Grant who just didn't have the players. It's clear to me now that whatever your plan is for Auburn basketball, it's the wrong one.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Anonymous8:56 PM

By the way, fun crowd today. Enjoyed the surroundings.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Crowd looked good on TV how many do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Spent maybe too much time campfiring, and not watching every second of the game.

But I was surprised that Green was not much of a part of what UAT tried to do on the offensive end. Then, he fouls out. That was huge.

Hargrove was the difference down the stretch, in my mind. Lebo did make a defensive switch or two that helped immensely.

I said it during the campfire ... he can coach. He is a good game day coach. He understands the game.

What he's not is a coach for a bottom level SEC team trying to climb toward consistent respectability, which is, save for a few seasons, what we are.

No one is buying what he's selling, and he's not selling hard anyway. Thus, it's time for a change.

Auburn basketball is entirely chicken and egg -- gotta have a good team to get the fans there, gotta have fans there to get a good team.

Even with the fancy arena, we've got to fold down the laptops and invest our own time and money into the program, or we'll just sit on our keesters and bitch on blogs and boards for decades.

    ReplyDelete
  78. For those that saw the end of the game, which i did not, did UA in bound the ball all the way down court, in the lane and the guy that caught it, lost control (Sullivan may have knocked it away).
If so, how does AU allow the final pass to go the length of the court and let the guy who catches do so in the lane?

    ReplyDelete
  79. The major coaching mistake of the day -- WTC ... they didn't cover the in-bound guy, who couldn't move. So he had a free throw to the opposite free throw line

    ReplyDelete
  80. Did not face guard the inbound guy and left him with an open shot down the court. It was knocked away when he tried to pass it.I Think.

    ReplyDelete
  81. thanks, E-Bro. I wasn't paying attention.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Beasley is 88 and 89 tonight

    ReplyDelete
  83. I thought he caught it and tried to pass it. It happened so fast I am not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  84. also misspelled Beasley 4 times in the rush.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Apologies THT. Wasn't sure if you were lurking and jumped the gun on your Beasley post.

    ReplyDelete
  86. He never got a clean grab on it, turned and was juggling it when Frankie swiped at it.

I still always guard the in-bound guy for a length of the floor kinda play.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I am not sure because I jumped out of my chair and was jumping up and down screaming at the TV trying to get Lebo to get someone on the guy throwing it in.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I wouldn't. The dude can stand too far off the baseline and he's going to throw it over anybody guarding. I'd rather have that extra body to prevent the catch.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Didn't Duke and Christian Laettner forever teach us to guard the in bounds throw.

Grant Hill always said that's when he knew they had a great shot at the miracle play against Kentucky.

    ReplyDelete
  90. And I don't follow Basketball if I did I would probably have a heart attack.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Did he even get two hand on it? It looked to me like the ball hit his hand, and was knocked away simultaneously. He was only turning trying to find the ball, not because he was looking to make a shot.

    ReplyDelete
  92. the problem wasn't the lack of someone on Hill, but the fact that 2 KY players were BEHIND Laettner. No one was in FRONT of him to prevent the catch.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Yeah, that didn't help either.

Bad defense all around I guess by Kentucky on that play.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I like a tall guy with long arms raised and jumping up and down. It makes it almost impossible to pick out a target way down court. Or throw where you would like to.

    ReplyDelete
  95. maybe one day AU will have a tall guy with long arms.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Good night hotties.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I'm out.
    Get some.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Good night, diggerforAU
Good night, wtc. Regards to your mom.

    ReplyDelete
  99. i'm going to get my ice cream and then head to bed.

    Sweet dreams, Hotties!

Keep hate alive and WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Gretchen Bleiler is a cutie.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Latest recruiting info...

Latt signs with USCjr, Mack switches to USCjr on signing day, Lemonier signs with FSU, Howard goes to Clemson, Jones goes to Arky, and Dyer switches to Arky on signing day... Reed switches to LSU on signing day, Coleman flips to $pUAT, Goodwin flips to UGA, and LaDarious Owens decides to help erect the golden shrine of the miniature one.... The rest of AU's class fails to qualify and AU is forced to disband it's football program and shutter the doors of the university.

    SIKE!

  105. Hi Ira. You're welcome to go read about your classifieds. Don't hurry back.

Good morning, Hotties! It's an invigorating 15 degrees here this morning. Anybody else join me in watching Clark Howard from 6-7 (EST) this morning?

Why do we have to have 3 dead days? Why can't they put NSD on a Monday?

    ReplyDelete
  106. ira,

Try Jay G. Tate's masterful write-up of the Auburn-UAT basketball game. I'll bet you find it much more attractive than your classifieds.

Then you can read Jay G. Tate's AU football recruiting update!

    ReplyDelete
  107. THT,
You make it so easy, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Thank you for sharing business information says Norm.

    Morning girls and boys.

    ReplyDelete
  109. You're very welcome, Cincytiger. Have a very safe trip to Nashville.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ira,

    Have you met Feng?

    ReplyDelete

    love me some Skynyrd

    ReplyDelete
  114. We beat UAT in hoops ... Recruitmas is Wednesday. Obtain a measure.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Well Herschel Walker won his first MMA fight last night at age 47.

What sport will he try next?

    ReplyDelete

Double negatives ...it's a southern thang.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Well when this train ends, I'll try again
But I'm leaving my woman at home

    ReplyDelete
  119. i thought i would send in my report for the senior bowl yesterday.

    it was cold.

there were bammers galore and one of the greasiest mullets i've ever seen (as in the actual hair).
most didn't look like they could make it to the letter "a" in the alphabet.

there were also a ton of gaytors there to get their last tebow stiffy.

i saw a pan of the crowd on the bigscreen, and there were fans fom AU, uf, uga, ut, bammer and maybe one more all sitting together. that is a strange sight.

    oh yeah, there was a game: N 31 S 13

i left before halftime and listened the the bball win on the radio and got home in time to see the end of the game on tv.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Auburn's Antonio Coleman is another who performed well in the game but also another who frustrates scouts. Coleman looked like a star during his sophomore season with the Tigers but turned in disappointing campaigns the next two years. He was solid all week in practice at both defensive end and outside linebacker and continued his effective play on Saturday. Scouts must now decide if Coleman is rounding back into form or turned in a one-off performance he can't duplicate.

SI said this, do they not do research. From what I recall he was pretty good all season from the point he got his cast off. Am I wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  121. very clever follow-up to my post, 2.0.

Hope you're feeling better today. We'll be watching Pens vs Red Wings from about 6:30-9:30 Firenze Standard Time.

    ReplyDelete
  122. yup, much better than the classified THT.

still snowed in here in east tennessee. i haven't left the house in 2 days and won't today either. just shoveled snow for the second time in 2 days and bit it down the driveway trying to come inside. ice ain't no joke hotties. ouch. luckily i'm still in one piece.

    ReplyDelete
  123. good job reppin' for the hotties at the Senior Bowl Chip!

    ReplyDelete
  124. ok, guess i'll go back to cleaning house again. not much else to do.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Anonymous10:33 AM

OK ..since there can't be much more coach efforts to sway kdis minds ..here goes. My recruiting predctions based only on light reading and trying to guess the minds of 18 year olds.

Coleman, Lincoln, Lemonier and Whitaker to AU
    Lattimore to USCe
    Jones to Arky

Coaches to predictably laud the successful results.

AU to end up #4, Bama #3, UF #1.

This staff will have done a magnificient job addressing the most pressiing needs and restocking most everywhere else.

AL.com to predictably explode in Iron Bowl-esque reciprocally condescending posts to try and establish the in-state recruiting winner.

    ReplyDelete
  126. War Eagle, I am ready for me some signing day. Do we get Lattimore? Me thinks yes, what say you?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hoopie, a minor adjustment....Jones has made his decision and he will be a Tiger. It's just a formality at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think Marcus Lattimore is smarter than that, Hoopie.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Amen Brother THT.

    ReplyDelete
  130. I've read all kinds of things regarding Lattimore. I've heard he's a done deal for AU...then I've heard he's been a USCe silent for months, which I don't buy...so we'll see. I think we get him.

    ReplyDelete
  131. that's a loud EPL game upstairs in LGGByron's room... and it's not even West Ham.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Arsenal is down 2-0 to Man U. Stupid own goal.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Anonymous11:07 AM

But..but...but Doug Segrest polled 3 diffferent major recruiting analysts that say Lattimore is going to USCe.

Lattimore definitely has a head-heart dilemma. His head should definitely tell him to go to AU.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Well, we are only guessing for 3 more days, including today.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Anonymous11:15 AM

I can't think of any reason why USCe would want Lattimore to be a silent commit. They have needed momentum and he would have helped.

I think the guy really just has a hard decision. Lot's of local pressure.

Maybe talking to our Mack Truck will help.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Excellent idea, Hoopie!

    ReplyDelete
  137. There's a ton of pressure on Lattimore to stay at home, and I wouldn't be shocked if he did.

In football terms, it doesn't make sense. Spurrier hasn't had a significant contribution from a RB since he's been there.

In fact, the best RB in college that South Carolina's had in a decade was Kenny Irons, but his success was after he transferred to Auburn.

The word is that certain family members want him to go to USCe. I hope he goes to Auburn, but I'm not sure what he'll do.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I wonder if Spartanburg native Stephen Davis could put in a good word for AU.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Good afternoon all. I haven't taken the time to read everything yet, so if I say something that was already posted then skip it.

    B. Jones is Auburn bound. He will still wait to announce according to his original plans.

Latt. will be an Auburn Tiger as well.

    ReplyDelete
  140. First
Let me say enjoyed reading both articles JGT.
Also enjoyed the campfire while watching the game, would not have watched it if I didn't have such great company.
I bet the coaches have a good idea where most evryone is going.
I don't have a clue and will not venture a guess.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Also since I wasn't on last night I will give my $.02 on the bb team. Really glad we won and it was a very exciting finish, but we that was a terrible performance. Reed should not be a PG on any team....ever. Lebo has a lot left to do to stick around another year. He needs to start by coaching and showing some fire/passion.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Patches O'Houlihan, what were you thinkin', bro?

    ReplyDelete
  143. Digger - you are right, we don't have a clue. But I'll guess anyway! AU gets Lattimore, Coleman, Lemonier, Whitaker, and Jones.

I believe in Auburn, and so do these kids!

    ReplyDelete
  144. THT I hope you are 100% right.
This would turn a great class into a super class.

    ReplyDelete
  145. If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Hoopie,
    Who is Lincoln?

Jones is telling people that he's coming to AU, all over but he singing with him. The fat lady is warming up on Lattimore, Lemonier, and Whitaker as well. Coleman sticks with his AU commitment. Howard chooses between Clemson and Kentucky.

The reason recruiting 'analysts' are predicting Lattimore to USCjr is because they don't know what he plans on doing. To use an analogy, when predicting the outcome of a game that you don't have information to sway you one way or another, you pick the home team... that is what these analysts are doing. My prediction? Lattimore will be a Tiger. USCjr has nothing to gain and a lot to lose by keeping his commit silent, they would want it shouted from the rooftops. Latt likes Newton, talks to Dyer, is close with Mack... all Tigers. Hrm.....

    ReplyDelete
  147. PENS WIN PENS WIN
in a shootout over the Red Wings

Pens 7-0 in shootouts this season.

Everyone can return to HABOTN now.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I always love watching UF lose, so the last minute of the UF-Tenn Bball game was great.

I missed the AU game yesterday, but of course beating bama is always great. I'm now watching snowcross. Riding a snowmobile on a mx type track is just awkward.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Anonymous2:17 PM

DM ...sorry, I meant meant DJ Howard (from Lincoln).

It'll be interesting to compare what the 3 experts that Segrest interviewed predict with the folks that hear inside AU stuff predict.

The best positive scenerio is to hope that Whitaker commits to AU tommorow and starts the momentum and fulfill THT's scenerio.

THT ...if your hopes come true, we could have a #2 class that fills needs incredibly well.

Then it will be up to the coaches to get/keep them in school and train them up. Getting stars is great, hopefully these are the stars that make it.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I think you would be into it if you experienced it. Everyone I know that's into snowmobiling is very much into mx during the non-winter months.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I'm afraid I'd end up underneath the snowmobile. I'll stick with the alpine ski events, esp. downhill.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I would love to ride snowmobiles. But to me some of the other forms of snowmobile racing looks more interesting. I've been on a mx track on a quad and I didn't like it, it was just too heavy. Snowmobiles look like the same thing but worse. The fact that they are able to handle them as well as they do is pretty amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Anyone seen the commercial with the snowmobiler who supposedly gets to the peak with his Jeep? How does he get back to his truck after he rides to the bottom?

    ReplyDelete
  154. chairlift? Those commercials make no sense.

THT, I would've thought downhill skiing would be too fast for you(its too fast for me, and I'm a maniac). You seem like you'd be well suited for the tubing park.

Tubing parks, btw, are very fun (and dangerous) with a keg, a couple of handles of whiskey, and a bunch of friends.

    ReplyDelete
  155. chairlift? Those commercials make no sense.

  157. What is skiing?

  158. You get on two boards slide down a slippery slope and try not break anything.

  159. PF - top of the mountain to the bottom as fast as possible. That's what skiing is about. Not so hot on the moguls, though. That's why I'd rather be a downhiller. How people go flying through the air, do that helicopter stuff, and land upright in a mogul field is one of the most fascinating of earth's unsolved mysteries.

  160. I hope the Hotties realize that we don't have to follow the NCAA rules. Just cause it's Quiet Period doesn't mean we have to go almost 2 hours without a post once, then over an hour without a post later today. Just want to make sure y'all know before Dead Period gets here.

  161. Still don't see it. I can picture you as a grade A slalom or GS guy, but Downhill? Those dudes are psycho. 60+mph on chattery sticks moving over harpack/ice sounds like a good way to die. I've experienced close on my board, and didn't find it to be the best way to enjoy myself on the mountain (especially after getting a concussion). Perhaps I have overestimated your level of sanity.

As a snowboarder, moguls are not my cup of tea, either, so I'm with you there. I wonder what those moguls skiiers' knees feel like at the end of the day.

    Actual ski talk?

    I'm impressed, fellas.

Can't wait til the Winter Games myself. Always prefer to the Summer Games.

  164. 2 most fun runs:
    1. Horseshoe Bowl at Breckinridge, so steep you had to make quick turns. When you turn the snow from the back of your skis falls over your shoulders. I was fortunate to experience it sans moguls.
    2. Long steep groomed slope at Deer Valley, very early when no one else out there. My bro-in-law and I tucked all the way. It was soooo much fun.
I'd still do it, though not sure I'd survive it again. It wouldn't be the first time I've shown poor judgement.

  165. Watching the Lady Tigers. I sure hope this game isn't the blowout that UT was. Why is Women's college bball never in HD during the regular season in this day age???

  166. I'm with ya Sensi.

I love the Summer Games, but the Winter Games, much more so.

I go gaga over all the skiing. The downhill always seems like the most insane thing ever to me.

NBC aired a great little documentary last night on America's ski team in GS.

    It was good stuff.

I love Deer Valley, a little know secret,
the best time for Deer Valley is around Sundance.
All the locals are out of town, and most everybody is waiting in a movie line.

The slopes are perfect and clear.

  170. THT...which Peak is that run on?

I love me some Peak 8 and Peak 7 at Breck.

Honestly, though, I probably had more fun at Keystone. I went during Spring Break and there Breck was crowded (and icy from lack of snow), but Keystone had no lines and good powder.

  171. I have a comment from the game yesterday. I'm sure you know how feel about the Goober Bookends (JJ & TJ) and how TJ is ALWAYS on the sidelines and he was always in the lockerroom standing right behind Chizik on Auburn Football Everyday. Well, yesterday, as you know, the team from the 80's was recognized. The Goober Bookends were nowhere to be found.

  172. I like Breck in the morning, some apres drinks, then Keystone under the lights before a full night of partying.

  175. THT, you'd like Aspen Mountain and Highlands. Some steep, open trails there that you just fly down. Buttermilk and Snowmass were mo better for virgin pow pow, though.

The pros tuck groomed black slopes. Watched them do it on the Centenial Run at Snowmass ...incredible.

I earned a "no turns" pin on the long blue run at the far left side of Crested Butte. Tucked part of it and raised up some just to slow down, but only turned to stay on the run. Cracked the cartiledge in my knee while jumping over a crevice on that trip and had to have arthroscopic surgery.

This was all 15-20 years ago when I was still a young man.

Little Nell's at the base of Aspen is the best apres ski I've been around. Nice scenery.

That's the one that is litterally right off the chairlift, right? With the hottub on the patio? Nice scenery, indeed.

Biggest moguls I've seen? At the giant bowl on the glacier at Blackcomb.

Mammoth Mountain in Cali is huge, not crowded, but doesn't have the extreme terrain like at J-hole, Aspen or A-Highlands

Deer Park is country club skiing. Easily best place to take the ladies.
