Welcome to "Football In Paradise"

Hey everyone. So it's very wet now in Tampa. The rain is everywhere.

I don't have a future in meteorology.

Here are a few more things I saw on my journey through the mezzanine. As if I'd subject myself to rain!

And the compulsory shot of the pirate ship.

Thanks for being here today. We appreciate you.

The rain should favor the running game. I think Tate and FAH both have big days.

  20. Know what you mean NoVaTiger don't want to start the new year off with your head in the toilet

  21. I posted this onthe last thread:

Supercrip-Yeah. we get that list, AU will be OK. I know the players are different, but I recall Tulsa playing in a monsoon last year in the GMAC bowl and racking up 600 yards. It would be great if we can replicate that offensive performance today.

I want to see Ben just blow it out!

You gotta love when Cam Newton commits to Auburn, will enroll in January, and expects to compete for starting job....scrolls on the bottom of ESPN.

I am not saying he is a savior, I am saying he just might make everyone better.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So ready to get this show on the road.

WTC - I'll take AU for 600 in the mud any day

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous9:11 AM

The recruiting seems to be snowballing. The quality of the class so far was probably a factor in getting Cam. Cam in turn makes the class even more attractive to others.

It's important to remember that these kids can change their minds until they sign on the dotted line. 5 really solid players already signed should help solidify the other commitments.

  26. THe cam question(s) are:

Is he a leader - Won a NC in JC but could have had leadership on the team....

Can he pick up the GUS Bus O? He was able to pick up the JUCO o quick and win the NC so hopes are high.

Last but not least... can he be the CLEAR WINNER in the QB race as not to have a split team.

  27. Nice looking Tiger Walk there on ESPN.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous9:13 AM

    Shot of Tigerwalk on Gameday.

    ReplyDelete
  29. SO AU moved to 3rd spot on the Rivals listof rankings. Still a long time until NSD and others will close strong.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That TigerWalk shot really pumped me up! Happy New Year AU fans!!! Couldn't have imagined a better holiday gift than Mr. Newton. When was the last time AU was #3 in the recruiting rankings on Rivals.com??? That's d@mn impressive!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Nothing likr putting the pressure on AU there Fowler.

    ReplyDelete
  32. With that said. this is the time AU needs to step up and be counted. We have the stage to ourselves for a while. As it pre-game video at the stadium says 'It is Our Time.'

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous9:20 AM

Rivals has us right behind Bama. I'd love to see us pass them even if it's a totally bogus ranking.

    ReplyDelete
  34. HAPPY NEW YEAR HOTTIES!!!!!

For many reasons I for one am happy to say good riddance 2009!

Here's to a great 2010....and an Auburn win!

    WAR EAGLE!!!

  35. 1. Fowler was tongue-bathing Fitzgerald, too.

    2. Luv, you didn't do my blood pressure any good in the last thread saying that the uniforms had been changed.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous9:21 AM

I agree wtc. This really needs to be a statement game for next year.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anonymous9:24 AM

My last name is Fowler so when I was reading I was saying to myself...

Self, what the heck did I say? But I also thought, why in the heck is cousin Chris adding to the pressure?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous9:24 AM

And before you ask, no there is no relation.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 1st - Win the Game
    2nd - Make statement

I'll take an ugly win and wait till next year to make a statement

    ReplyDelete
  40. That's not saying I wouldn't love a blow out statement today

Great start to the '10 year with the signing of Newton. Keep it going with a statement game against NW.

  50. Loganville,

I hope you are right and I kinda feel the same way...but I'm always going to be leary of any team who loses to Kentucky.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I just did some snooping around on ESPN and both columnist picked NW to win in a close game......

    I just don't see it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. It has stopped raining in Orlando. Hopefully it will clear up in Tampa. It only rained here for about 1 hour.

Minutes before the game....I thought I would put something I saw up about the newbies that are possibly coming. Great things seem to be happening on The Plains!

While watching the Under Armor All American recruiting special the announcers found one thing that made the Auburn recruits stand out among their peers. They got into one group together like a family. The leader of this group was Michael Dyer.

They commented how the Auburn group toured Disney together having fun. There was no other group from any team that did this. We must remember this is a group made up of the top talent in the nation.

Every one of Auburn's recruits were together. Every team requires leadership and a sense of team. It appears the seven recruits committed to Auburn already have both.

  60. Great point SuperCrip. It will pay dividends in the future.

georgia Tech had a similar class about 2 years ago I think? Look how they have fared with that class.

So are all our Scholy's now full? Are we done for the recruiting season assuming all sign?

Good defense, the offense capitalized, Ben Tate looked good. It could be a long day for NW.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think Tate got in for the TD on his run.
