Live bloggin': UGA @ AU

In this spot was a live blog that lasted the duration of Auburn's 82-63 win against Georgia.

Now it's gone. Such is life.

Thanks to those who went the distance:
THT (first arrival), Kathy, Cincy, AUFan365, Digger and newcomer Jack.

It was my pleasure to serve you.

  1. Third is my best finish, but somehow I don't think it's gonna count.

  7. @schadjoe New rule limiting in-home visits for coaches-in-waiting does seem unfair to Texas and any others w plan

  8. tony franklin to La Tech is curious. Saban wouldn't approve of such a lateral move.

  15. Sorry that I missed the chat.

Even sorrier I missed most of what seemed to be a solid Auburn performance (I caught the last ten minutes).

I guess UGA's big dawg gettin' in foul trouble was the story of the game.

  16. Sorry I didn't make it over to say hello, JG. I was sitting with my sister at the game.

I thought for a while that DeWayne Reed had switched unis with a UGA player. One of their guards was having a very D Reed-esque game.

Obscure side note: #2 for UGA, freshman Demario Mayfield... His high school coach is one of my fraternity brothers. I met the kid and tailgated with him at the AU/UGA game a few years back. He's a good kid.

  17. Good morning Hotties. Time to rise and shine!

  18. Good morning, Tar Heel and the rest you Hotties! One more after today!

Congrats to the men's bball team! I wanted to watch the game, but it wasn't on around here.

Friday's forecast for Bham: possibly a dusting. Woo hoo!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thanks for the link, jhag.

Auburn had their BASEBALL season opening press conference yesterday. You. Can read about it on the interwebs. (I use caps because baseball is awesome....way more awesome than the flailing lebos).

    ReplyDelete
  20. By "read about it on the interwebs," I mean here. Screw those other guys. ;-)

  21. Luv, I just heard where South AL could get some snow Friday. Hopefully that will include your area, and not mine!

I am so sick of winter; wet, cloudy, cold.

The new NCAA rule limiting the HCIW to the same recruitment rules as the head coach will only affect Texas. Is there another BCS school with an official HCIW? I know Muschamp was one of the top recruiters. Guess the next HCIW won't be official, just implied.

  22. Morning Hotties - another day full of training in store for me so y'all play nicely.

    ReplyDelete
  23. another day for me in an internet-deprived location. I'll be back in time for JGT's video campfire at 3 CST, 4 EST, 10 FST

    have a great day Hotties!

I saw the weather forecast this morning and there's another storm developing in Texas. This one is for y'all. Glad to share.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The other HCIWs were promotes to HCs this past offseason.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Kathy, I wish. No, according to James Spann, the bulk of the snow is going to be between U.S Hwys 80 and 84. :-(

Baseball already? Time sure does fly.

    ReplyDelete
  27. So, that means those Hotties in Montgomery will see some. Even Auburn is going to get some. :-(

My mom said she had cabin last night. All she could do yesterday was sit in the house and watch it snow.

    ReplyDelete
  28. cabin fever, that is.

    ReplyDelete
  29. tell your Mom to take two tylenol. Better yet, take them in Miami.

  30. Although, according to this map, Pelham might an inch! OMG, I better go to the store after work!

    Snow Prediction Map

But, after the complete dud we had a month or so ago, the meteorologists around these here parts need to stick to severe thunderstorm and tornado forecasting.

  31. LOL, Dr. Habotn! Actually, she'll be leaving for south FL next weekend!

  33. I wonder if "heavy" snow (1-3") between the Ham and the Gump are grounds for me staying home Friday?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Dear part time boss that never reads all of what I send you,

I understand what you're saying, but can you sound like less of a jerk next time? Plus, if you would've taken a moment to read the last thing I submitted to you, I might have spent more time making this one look presentable. Instead, you ask a billion questions that are already answered in the submisssion, and since I'm going to have to take the time to explain it anyway, I'd rather just save the time on the frontend and hand in summary level stuff.

Given the snow removal capabilities in Alabama, I'd say that's a yes DM.

A side effect of the storms, the surgery I was supposed to go to work for today (I procure tissue for research) was canceled due to a lack of blood. Donors haven't been able to get in to give for about week now.

I'll join the 95% of other Feds in the area who are staying home for the 4th day.

    ReplyDelete
  37. That'd be cool with me, as long as the liquor cabinet was well stocked.

  38. Auburn is the greatest bball team of all time!

I want some of what Michael's smoking!

Oh wait, it probably involves goats so never mind.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Here ya go nova...

    Michael's preferred smoke.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Pete, my boss is the same way. She's cool but half the time she isn't listening and then I have to reexplain everything and answer a bunch of dumb questions.

    ReplyDelete
  42. wow, 3 SEC wins. never would've thunk it. congrats to the fightin' Lebos.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The day we are congratulating a coach for winning 3 SEC Basketball games should be his last season. That is a sad remark.

Auburn Basketball....Build a Program and they will come.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ehyou, that is a GREAT link

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous8:42 AM

    Ehyou, I KNEW it!

    ReplyDelete
  46. So, does three SEC wins so far this season mean Lebo is safe for another year?

    ReplyDelete
  47. 3 SEC wins against the crappiest teams in the conference...I think he earned himself through 2012.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Isn't part of the problem with the bball team support, that there doesn't seem to be a level of improvement year to year? I understand kids move on/graduate whatever. But shouldn't they atleast be getting better at shooting free throws by now?

In truth I'm not sure what their FT % is, it just seems that people mention that alot.

Eddie's right, I don't think the fanbase is asking for much. We just want a team that remains competitive and can win in the SEC. Think about it, how would you like to be the team that can't make the cut of 96 teams?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Eddie, I think they think, "Build a new colesium and they will come."

    ReplyDelete
  50. What's that saying about putting a shine on a turd?

Although I saw an episode of Mythbusters that busted that myth.

So I'm not sure what it all means

    ReplyDelete
  51. Updated Snow Prediction Map

    D. Miller, now you definitely need to stay home tomorrow! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  52. If they rename this new arena the colesium and keep Lebo, that will be the icing on the cake. A ancient named venue with an outdated coach.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ancient?? Who you calling ancient?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Your mom is an ancient.

  55. Anonymous9:10 AM

I expect regular snow reports from the gump.

  56. I've been duped too many times. I'll believe it when I see it.

  57. Seanzie,

I don't care the he doesn't listen. He's only here two days a week, and I've adapted my work to his lack of listening. It's the rude and condescending email at 10:54 PM talking about how he would've done it (as opposed to how it needs to be done- huge difference in tone between those two) that ticks me off. It makes me want to take some tweezers to his balding scalp that he's self conscious about.
