More on Lattimore

Hey everyone. OK, so my title is a little misleading. I penned a story for Monday's editions of the Advertiser about how National Signing Day is almost here. And I mentioned Marcus Lattimore's name.

Hard-core recruitniks will scoff. I already know about his situation.

OK, so you do.

ALSO: Georgia defensive tackle Jeffrey Whitaker will announce his decision around 1 p.m. CST. I will not be there, but we'll still discuss the issue. It's a modern miracle that we can know without being there.

ALSO: Auburn graduate assistant and former linebacker Travis Williams has released his new single. He's a recording artist on the Major League ENT label, which he co-owns with Quentin Groves. Click here to download "Get Low".

(I downloaded ... and it played fine in iTunes.)

with that said, I do still feel good about Coleman. He said all along he'd go on visits...and has said all along he's 100% Auburn. WTC's mom confirmed as much--saying Coleman called the coaches last night and said he's still 100% Auburn.

Let's hope so!

Jay
I have a request for a story/blog topic. Would it be possible to give an update on current players and their injury status? I read posts here and there from folks on campus who report various players with boots/casts/slings, etc. I'm beginning to think that most of our players end up with some mild to mid grade injuries that they play through, and then defer surgery til this time of year? I'd find that sort of report interesting (I could be the only one though). thanks for all the hard work. Safe travels to Duncan. Holler as you pass through the ATL.

That's an interesting idea, WDEwg, but Chizik is staunchly against discussing medical issues with anyone in the media. That makes such a story inherently incomplete. See what I mean?

Still, we'll get into this during March.

9:32 AM

Yeah- that makes sense. I guess even if the player himself passes you in the hall on crutches in a boot, he's probably forbidden by Chizik to discuss.

And you're right, it'll shake out soon enough come March when they either are on the field or "in the tub".

I guess I just didn't realize it seemed to be as commonplace as some would suggest that it is- -the offseason scalpel time, that is.

PS- If you stay over in Greenville tonight-Henry's Smokehouse near downtown in Hwy 25. You'll be glad you did.

Eddie, wth else can they do??? Me, personally, I can live without a cell phone, but it would be extremely difficult to live without the internet.

Luv- Let me clarify, I was not speaking about my dislikes of receiving info slowly, it just seems that people are always trying to speed the process up. I'm amazed at how fast we receive info. As for me, I could not live without my cell phone. Scary to imagine that we did not so long ago.

Eddie ...My partners and I made a commitment to go as paperless as possible, which as you know is not easy in construction/development. We have done well reducing paper, but now I'm tied to the laptop/emails much more. I'm going to have to break down and get an I-phone type product.

Since I got out of large corporate executive life years ago I've cherished not having to be so connected. It's been great doin' bidness in NW Ga and remaining reasonably low tech. That's changing. Nowadays being connected increases productivity much more than the hassle is a detraction. Back in the day, the requirement to be connected was just a way for CEOs and Presidents to feed their control hunger.

Eddie, We're a builder/developer for one repeat client. I haven't printed a set of site plans for the last 3 projects. The building is always the same, so no need to print those plans either. Plans on computer screens are easy while in the office. I never thought we would see the day that plans were emailed by Arch/Engrs as PDFs and the superintendants/subs viewed the plans on site via computer screens.

Even the Ga DOT is beginning to accept electronic plan submittals.

I forgot who was having trouble with this message every time they refreshed the HABOTN thread...

"This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display blah blah blah..."

That just happened to me at this work computer. Solution:
Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level >scroll about halfway down to "Display mixed content" and change it from "prompt" to "enable". Then click OK.
