Moving past noon
I promised a two-star "surprise" brewing.
Here he is:
C Tunde Fariyike, 6-3, 295, Thomaston, Ga./Upson Lee HS
Fariyike was another of Auburn's signing day surprises. He was a powerful tackle for a struggling Class 4A team who simply overpowered most of the defensive linemen assigned to beat him. He's not big enough to play tackle in college, though, and Auburn coaches believe he'll settle at center. He's fairly mobile. Fariyike is an extremely bright student who is expected to enter Auburn's pre-med program. Prior to Auburn's offer, the biggest schools on his trail were Duke and East Carolina. Why? He was born in Nigeria, picked up football later than most prospects and started for only two seasons. Rivals.com rates Fariyike as a two-star recruit. He is unrated by Scout.com.

SUBSTANCE!!!
WAR EAGLE!!!
lache
dang it, had to correct my spelling.
I love the random "lache" ...
That'll about do it. Just two more LsOI and that's it.
Surprise....where did everyone go?
think he can hear me..
Surprises and Surprises!!!!!
I think Bonomolo's stuff is in.
Not sure what's going on there.
gotta be brainy to play center. With that name, I may pretend he's Samoan. I've always wanted us to have a Samoan.
if a lache were to fall in the forest (on the way to the fax machine), and no one was there to get it, would anyone hear the machine???
I ponder
DL is on the money. Lache is in.
Dangn't you gotta tell us there is a new thread.
Looking back I guess thats what the surprise time post was about.
I was left all alone, you guys know I'm afraid of the dark.
So he's a smaller Ryan Broome (at least in background).
You still trust your mom, MJT?
If I recall, Dixon, Seastrunk & Reed, the 3 amigos, have yet to turn in one LOI. Interesting.
Jason Campbell!
In the UK and have had back to back meetings. Just got on. WOW what a day!!!!
Curses! Missed it!
After watching that Dateline a few weeks ago about the Samoan high school players. Anybody see that? I'm with you THT. Let's get a Samoan!
SC, she promised this time. I can really hear it in her voice; she is telling the truth.
Did we just pickup a commit from a tellatubby? What is a Tunde Fariyike?
And we've hit the "everyone's punch-drunk" portion of our Recruitmas Day festivities. Everyone's looking for room to put just... one... more... recruit.
Then the tryptophans start kicking in, everyone gets a bit groggy, and the crazy uncles start fighting in the backyard.
It'd be our luck we would end up with the small samoan he'd only be like 6-5 315.
So Jay G, you thinking high traffic day of all time? Boy, you should really be rollin in the dough after today!
Fariyike may have a problem qualifying
3.9 GPA
27 ACT
Thanks THT I was over there and lost.
ROFL, Michael. Nothing like blog traffic to turn JGT into a multibillionaire.
There you go again, JayGT, calling people "small." It's not the size of the man, but the man of the size, after all.
Ryan Broome... Good (bad) name from the past, RK
Welcome to the newcomers to the HABOTNland.
I done told you people the last 2 days that you'd be happy with the results of today. Apparently, you thought I was MJT and was kidding. You should always believe Homer and me. Well, in cases such as this, you should probably put more stock in what Homer has to say.
Get some!
And, while I have a moment - KEEP HATE ALIVE!!!
Well as we heard earlier, small is a concern against the future NFL players in the SEC.
That was 60 Minutes Brandon.
Squirrel!!!
We have done well with Tigers with hard-to-pronounce names before. I like it when we take a chance on somebody smart.
Panties!
Did he play soccer while in Nigeria? If so I have decided he is the football version of Hakeem the Dream.
My most beautiful big man ever (in a totally hetero sports kinda way).
Somebody needs to come up with a nickname cuz I have no idea how to pronounce his last name.
Screw You Scott.
Or his first name for that matter Luv.
I wish Reed would just sign so I could leave and go to best buy.
I think we have everyone in now with one spot open.
Lache finally got off his arse and sent his LOI to Oregon. Now that nonsense on all the crazy AU boards will cease. C'mon Reed..Hog tie your coach and fight your way to that fax machine!
Could Farikiye(is that prononounced freaky?)come in on an academic scolarship and free up a football scholly.
Luv, we could call him Fairey. Urrr, maybe not.
Nigeria gave us one of the all time Techno Bowl greats, Christian Okoye.
Tecmo, not Tecno
Wake, in the spirit of Recruitmas, I take it back.
Bonomolo!
Reed!
Lache!
Skivvies!
don't think that's permitted by NCAA rules, dan dan
Just thought I would ask?
Someone sent me this. It is supposedly a quote from Fbomb:
"As long as Nick Saban is coaching college football yall (Auburn) will never beat them in recruiting."
Minus the "Lache" part.
Every time I post something you create a new post!
If anyone was curious about what's going on in Georgia...listening to UGA fans on the radio, they're pushing "meltdown" mode.
Nigeria also gave us the most prolific email scam of all time, i.e., the diamond mine/bank account ruse. Thanks Nigeria!!
dan dan ... no can do. That's forbidden by the NCAA.
With Centers in the not so distant past like Walk on Jeremy Ingals and Joe Cope and lowly ranked Jason Bosley (2*)I believe he can be successful. I think these guys are often times difficult to project on this level because they are often undersized OL. The only other highly regarded center prospect recently that I can remember was T-bob Hebert at LSU.
And we all know Finebaum is right all the time
Several surprises, and we held serve on the big dogs. I watched the films of Ladarius Philips and would not want to get in his way!
Anxiety associated with Reed's LOI is (at least temporarily) assauged.
I expect it soon.
word!
Not MY anxiety; Auburn's anxiety.
Unfortunately DanDan, no. My brother and I both passed up on the opportunity to walk on at Auburn because it would have cost us our academic scholarships.
Kinda a tragic rule, but necessary.
good save homer!! :)
I guess I was thinking that he could be considered a walk-on. Speaking of that, what about Jeff Fisher's kid?
JayG-Can you give us a run down on the prospects for the 2011 class? I am sure you have the bios ready already since all you had to do today is sit around a fax machine and smoke cigars.
Again, great job today.
Homer Strikes again
Thanks for the info.
JGT almost pseudo sort of partially kind of admitted to being an AU fan
;-)
Hence the Homer avatar
Dan, or even better how about all the Hotties on HABOTN throw in $200 a piece and put him through college.
I may have an extra car he can drive too.
that not a violation is it?
right?
mwdeav (welcome by the way if your new) yeah same goes for me, I was going to walk on but wanted to keep my academic scholarship.
Or it could have something to do with the fact that I'm a scrawny kid who isn't all that athletic. But I'm gonna stick with the scholarship thing.
Trovon Reed is in.
REED!!!
Recruiter Dude (Jamie something) on 680TheFan here in Atlanta stated he would be Shocked if Reed didn't sign with Auburn.
Get some!!!!!
Has anyone looked at the schedule for next year? Looks like there is a good chance for us to get off to a really good start even with a new QB.
Paging Mr. Bonomolo!
Hell Yessssssssss Welcome Mr. REED!
Pronunciation guide:
Tunde Fariyike
Toon - day Far-e-yee-kay
Reed Substance.
Merry Recruitmas, everybody!
With that info, I guess Recruiter Dude would be shocked...
Thanks JGT.......
I guess all we are waiting on is Bonomolo. I guess this is my cue to head out and get some stuff done. Thanks for all the hard work Jay G. When I'm rich and famous I will remember you.
BEST....CLASS....EVER??????????
See, its pronounced like freaky in southern dialect.
Toon-day Freaky. I like it.
Yes, I'm late to the party, but it's been a busy day at work, too.
Merry Recruitmas, everyone. And yes, I'm glad I didn't make the 3.5 hour trek to Spartanburg last night, although it would have been worth it just to hang with JGT and Stephen Davis for a couple of hours.
Reed official.
I didn't have scholarships (academic or otherwise) made available to me. Rest assured, this will not be the case with F4* (you newbies will catch on).
Panties! Get some! Keep Hate Alive!
GOT SOME NORM!
I just like setting around saying Tunde Fariyike. It has a kind of ring to it.
Well, I was hoping for one other surprise, but I do understand that Jake Holland is 5 star in terms of hair, so we got that going for us.
So Tobias Funke is aboard.
Arrested Development. Nice.
The day started with unanswered questions about Lemonier Lemonier http://usspost.com/tunde-fariyike-usspost-4977/
