Radio Appearance (No Longer) Forthcoming

Hey everyone. I will be participating in my weekly segment on SuperSport 930 out of Jackson, Miss., in a bit. That extravaganza began around 9:07 a.m. CST and has ended. There will be a podcast later in the day in case you missed the fun.

We barely discussed Auburn.

The segment included a difficult moment when I realized two of my ex-girlfriends have Facebook pics that involve guns. Here is proof:

Pistol:

Shotgun (thanks, Pete!)

The Rust Never Sleeps era of Neil Young's career was his peak in my mind.

He's had a career of great highs and awful lows musically.

Random thoughts ...

1. Perhaps we should celebrate Friday with beers and cigars at our respective locales.

2. I'll have to figure out a way to fake a conference call starting at 2 p.m.

3. Ron Franklin used to take gratuitious shots at a former AU head coach for the way he left Ole Miss, and that bothered me, so I was not his fan. Now that I endorse gratuitious shots at said former coach, I think he's a wonderful announcer.

4. Apparently the new Texas Tech coach is trying to start something akin to "Tiger Walk" at TTU. He was thinking of calling it "Raider Walk," but was seeking suggestions. My thoughts: "Duck Hunt" or "The BBQ Baste."

Blogger WarEagleRK said...

Buffalo Springfield, early 70's with Crazy Horse, Rust Never Sleeps late 70s ear and late 80's/early 90's Crazy Horse era are all great Neil Young ears.

Everything else, especially the early 80's Devo type stuff is awful.

JGT, guns are one thing, second amendment and all, don't feel bad.

Girls with knives are a different story. Believe it or not I can tie all this together with a 'breakfast story".

I had a 'friend' in college, again she was kind of busty and permissive, (except with me, I was 'sweet').

Anyway I was going to church on a Sunday morning and I get a call from this chick and she's like, I need you to take me to the police station. I am over protective and rush over there and she is all bruised up, and I'm all about whoop somebody and woo the maiden, yada, yada, yada.

Anyway, she had a car wreck the night before I took her up to the station to get a report and she was all like, lets go get breakfast my treat. So I go. She has a HUGE black eye, and she kinds of dressed in a certain manner.

Anyway, we are at the IHOP on Opelika road, me in church clothes with a chick with a black eye and walk of shame clothes on, and EVERYONE is staring at us.

I think nothing of it, cause I am starving. She pays the check and as we go to leave, and chick says, 'You know, everyone thinks you beat me' like it was nothing.

Later on that year, my dad came up for b-ball game and she gives me this dagger as a present, which prompted my dad to rag on me for hours.

Morale: Gun chick is okay, stay away from knife chick.

Do you know the song is about an immense jackass with a great name, here > When asked about the line, "They call Alabama the Crimson Tide, they call me Deacon Blues," Donald Fagen told Rolling Stone magazine: "Walter and I had been working on that song at a house in Malibu. I played him that line, and he said, 'You mean it's like, 'They call these cracker a--holes this grandiose name like the Crimson Tide, and I'm this loser, so they call me this other grandiose name, Deacon Blues?' and I said 'Yeah!' I am finding the Rollison departure very strange. From what I have read, he will complete the Spring semester before transferring. If that is the case, why wouldn't he compete for the QB spot and just see what happens? It may very well be that he needs to focus on academics, but I do find that strange.

11:28 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Steve ...If you'll peruse the ESPN stuff, you'll see in a couple of different places where "academic issues" along with unhappy at AU were mentioned by the father.

11:36 AM
Blogger chip chip said...

he's obviously not getting the pt outside of an injury to newton. maybe stay through spring and see if newton gets hurt. it would still benefit to go through spring drills if he sticks around to finish classes. of course the coaches would not waste reps on him. he may need to focus on academics to get out without negatively impacting AU's academic standing with ncaa. it is better if he transfers out in good academic standing and may affect his future eligibility at shstu or open up better options.

11:41 AM
Blogger Unknown said...

Nobody should ever criticize Steely Dan. There are things in this world that are questionable, but there is one certain fact that cannot be argued. Steely Dan didn't get where they are because of their looks.

11:45 AM
Blogger Unknown said...

After this season, Rollison would likely also have to compete with Driskel. After thinking about it a bit, he definitely doesn't have an easy path to be the starting QB. Prior to Newton arriving, he had a decent chance. Caudle would have been my bet to start the season, but I believed that Rollison or Moseley would eventually take over once Caudle demonstrated his ability to complete passes to players, regardless of Jersey color.

Jet, help me out here...when I was a kid we went a couple of times (when my dad had a convention to attend)to a hotel/resort somewhere in Alabama that had a big pool with diving boards that had pretty good height to them. My brother and I and some buddies would rent bikes and ride from the hotel to the pool. I always remembered this as the Grand Hotel, but after going down there earlier this month, the layout of the grounds doesn't look right (not to mention the placement of the pool is all wrong). Could I be thinking of Lakepoint or have the grounds at the Grand changed that much? This is driving me crazy.

1:21 PM
Blogger Scott Chocolate said...

Oh yeah, I also remember some cabins being on the grounds (I think).

1:22 PM
Blogger Jet said...

Count Chocula ...

About 10 years ago, the Grand went through a massive renovation. Once RSA took control, Bronner had them build the Spa building where the pool once was, and they removed one of the previous units of rooms to make room for the new, more resortish pool. The old pool was more Olympic in style, and I believe had the high dives. The Grand used to have bungalows in area where the lake was built across the street from the hotel units.

I made a couple of Lakepoint visits during my early teen-aged days; it was cheap place for a church group to do a weekend retreat. I can't recall the pool set-up there.

It was the full show he did on his tour that year. I definitely remember him singing "I'm Eighteen", "No More Mr. Nice Guy", and "School's Out". I watched till it got 5-0 then came back here to see what was going on in HABOTNland

Interestly, going into this game, the Finnish goalie had the highest save percentage in the tournament.

There is no value to the money being spent on the US Census. I don't care what they say, there are other ways to obtain the information, and the billions being spent asking every person 3 stupid questions is ridiculous.

Leave it to the Fed Guv, they can find many ways to waste money.

it's absolutely pure stupidity, PF. Torques my jaw that the feds waste my money like that.

Blogger LuvAU1968 said...

I agree, PF. In this electronic age do they still come door to door??

2:48 PM
Blogger LuvAU1968 said...

They don't care. It's not their money.

If they do still go door-to-door, maybe the government could subcontract the Mormons.

Scott Choco, I thought I saw on the news the other day that they do. They were telling us that they'd be wearing ID badges and what questions they wouldn't ask you. In this day and age, I'd be much more willing to fill out an online survey than allow a stranger into my house.

Think the Canadians will burn any couches if their guys lose to Slovakia tonight?

Door to door is still in effect, yes. Dude rang my doorbell while I was in the shower and waited % minutes for me to get there...when I answered, he had the wrong address (depite it being posted right next to the door), and had to dig through his bag to find my form.

Also noticed that he was soliciting responses from all of the unocupied condos.

It took me 2 minutes to fill it out. I'm considering adding my dog. She's white, has a name and birthday, so I can fill out all of the boxes.

Anyone know what the special emphasis on hispanics is ?

Slovakia beating Canada would be a huge upset.

Watched the first 7 minutes of the game, and we were up 3-0. Got a phone call, came back seven minutes later, we were up 6-0.

Wondered if Dewayne Reed had ever been to Helsinki.

Gatortown Mugshots -- 80 arrests in the last 96 hours. Almost one an hour.

I love it. You click on the mugshots and read the accused offense, then wait about 15 seconds and an advertisement pops up.

I was just looking at Auburn's website and the timeline of events at BEMC. I didn't know they had all those concerts there. Ticket prices have risen EXPONENTIALLY since the early 1970's!

I'll say this....Ben Tate has not backed down from his comments at all..

Tate

Do you think he would have rushed for more yards than Ingram had he played on UA's team? He seems to be saying that Ingram is perceived to be better because he was on an undefeated team.

What say you?...

I will not speak the blasphemous truth on that topic, FSJ.

BTW ....Ben Tate can play on my team anytime.
