ReplyDeletegetcha sum of dat! who dat?
ReplyDeletemake that 13 new threads THT!
Dang you, Scottie. I haven't been here all day!
ReplyDeletedang, i'm slow!
ReplyDeleteha. gotcha Cincy!
ReplyDeletei think i like Rivals' rankings better. i'm going with them.
Remember when Auburn people used to complain about Rivals because it was owned by an Alabama guy?
ReplyDeleteI can't bring myself to say that Rivals is right.
ReplyDeleteIs Rivals the only one that considers JUCO?
ReplyDeleteBut isn't Rivals biased for Alabama?
ReplyDelete:-)
consensus top 5...every spot in the top 5 is interchangeable. I wouldn't swap classes with anyone!
ReplyDeleteok FINE.
ReplyDeleteRIVALS is RIGHT and the others are ALL WRONG. (blind squirrel and acorn come to mind)
oh wait, it's a blind hog.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to see how fast the cousin humpers dump Rivals as not legit
ReplyDeleteJGT yes I do for all the 5 years I have paid attention. Rivals is evil Scout is good. Well looks like that has changed.
ReplyDeleteJay G, I'm sure you are exhausted. I bet you're ready for a beer!
ReplyDelete...or do any of them?
ReplyDeleteGo ahead, make your jokes, Mr. Jokey... Joke-maker. But let me hit you with some knowledge.
ReplyDeleteCoffee Cup, they probably already have!
ReplyDeletedon't know if you saw this on the last thread JGT...
ReplyDeleteOk, enough for the appetizers. JGT can we count on an in depth analysis of AU's spring practice roster, broken down by position, before supper?
all in good fun. Your superhuman effort today is greatly appreciated.
I thought Scout was owned by Aubs. Whasssup with Bama being ranked ahead of us there? ;)
ReplyDeleteCopier.
ReplyDeleteFSJ, how do the bama fans feel about your recruiting class?
ReplyDeleteCGC is on Rivals Radio right now.
ReplyDeletewe have a "choppin' wood" sighting from CGC.
ReplyDeleteand so do all the fans!
ReplyDeletethat sales pitch will be more difficult to use for future classes
ReplyDeletethanks for the link SCoats
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter if we finished 3, 4 or 5.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter if we finish 1 spot ahead or 1 spot behind UAT.
What matters today is that in the recruiting period of 2010 we were a major player.
We have to repeat that effort.
There are three parts to success in college football (necessary in equal measure): recruiting, coaching, and an environment where all are pulling in the same direction (from the president of the university to grumpy alumni and fans.).
We don't recruit. We don't coach. But we can buy in to the vision.
Are you invested?
That guy hosting show - all I know is that his first name is Chris - has a speech impediment like Rece Davis.
ReplyDeleteTar Heel, maybe the Hotties can come up with a new sales pitch.
Chizik "we expect these guys to come in and play we told them we expect and if it doesn't happen them we look at redshirting."
ReplyDeleteup to my eyeballs, Jet
ReplyDeleteScout sucks!
ReplyDeleteJet, who you callin' grumpy?
ReplyDeleteI spoke with Curtis Luper earlier ... suffice it to say he's enthusiastic about the class.
ReplyDeleteOn Dyer: ``He rushed for 8,000 yards in high school and he's got it in his mind that he's going to rush for 8,000 more here. He might break 8,000 tackles, too."
I didn't do a good job on that last post, im too big of a hurry.
ReplyDeletebut hope you got the idea.
press-register super southeast 120

Economic prediction ...
ReplyDeleteLimo rental market will be a growth sector during the spring visitations.
Tar Heel, Jet, Digger, when was the last time you felt this good about a recruiting class?
ReplyDeleteJet,
ReplyDeleteSign me up on the investment
never is the only word I can think of
ReplyDeleteJGT.... those complaints are soooo Turbervillian!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like a piece of the limo action. I've got 3 colleges and 3 weddings in the future to pay for.
ReplyDeleteTar Hill
ReplyDeleteAny way you look at it by any numbering system. Chiz and Co. did a great job this yeear
ditto to digger's reply
ReplyDeleteYes it is bias for Bama... look how high they are rated..
ReplyDeleteAwesome Day Everyone!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope next year is just the same and this is the start of great things!
Lache is a duck.....
ReplyDeleteoh well...
Tubbs interview coming up on ESPNU. Deva ju all over again.
ReplyDeleteDyer is gonna be special...I can feel it.
ReplyDeleteI'll pass, Comm'r.
ReplyDeleteBest class since 1984 ... Rocker, Stallworth, Nate Hill, R. Ware, K. Porter, R. Garner, and more.
ReplyDeleteI hope the coaching staff goes out and gets hammered tonight, they deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI don't patronize Rivals. I also don't own a Tiffin Motor Home, or know an Auburn fan who does.
ReplyDeleteOK, I really need to step away from the computer. I have been on the HABOTN all day.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great day to be an Auburn Tiger!!! War Damn Eagle!!!
DL, don't give up on Lache! We got him right where we want him!
ReplyDeletejhag, so does Jay G!
ReplyDeleteKen Green signed in 84 I think.
ReplyDeleteKiffin is ballin in LA but so is Slick Rick out there at ucla
ReplyDeleteFront page quote material:
ReplyDelete"I hope the coaching staff goes out and gets hammered tonight, they deserve it." -- Jhag.
Yeah, Michael.
ReplyDeleteHe's a sitting Duck!
Whew! I just finished reading all of Jay's posts and the comments - all 1205 of them since I posted about 6:30 this morning. I am exhausted!
ReplyDeleteI signed up for Verizon's service where Auburn sent me a text every time someone signed and I had Jay's tweets coming through. I also found some guy on Sports Nation Rival satellite radio (Bill King?) not sure if that is the right name, but they had a signing day special on all morning. They talked alot about Auburn. Very impressed with what they had done.
So I was able to keep up with everything, but I missed being with the Hotties!
Now, everyone in the nation is wearing orange and blue glasses - except sensi :)
ESPN not counting JUCOs is like a Sonic waitress not counting her tips. Blasphemy.
ReplyDeleteVery excited about this class and I think we are already positioned well for 2011. Sleepers of this class are Kitchens and Curry IMO.
ReplyDeleteSensi had Lasik and it went all wrong.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to pass the hat to help him get his eyes fixed.
Yeah, and I have to send THT a new pair, he accidentally ran over his with two cars.
ReplyDeleteJust 2 years ago on NSD there was one thread (updated several times) and an internet clogging 51 posts.
ReplyDeleteI just used the word "polyphony" in my main story.
ReplyDeleteRecruiting analysts created a polyphony of praise.
Jay G ... that ain't used in polite company in these parts.
ReplyDeleteare you saying there are a lot of fakes in our recruiting class?
ReplyDeletecincy, what was your favorite comment out of the entire day?
ReplyDeleteHey, we are on the front page of SI.com now. That curse doesn't work for the website, does it?
ReplyDeleteI love Sensi, but he sees the world thru Crimson glasses and the orange and blue. He loves Auburn, but bama media has got him good right now.
ReplyDeleteHey Seanzie, I don't tip at Sonic. Am I supposed to? They bring me fast food in a bag.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong but I pretty sure ESPN doesn't cound JUCO's and Scout may not. That changes things a lot.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about my favorite post, probably one about your mother, but my favorite picture is the one of the coaches celebrating Corey's announcement.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to BLOW THE ROOF off our single-day pageview record.
ReplyDeletei remember those days THT cheers!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should change that to a symphony.
ReplyDeleteJust doin our part Jay G.
ReplyDeleteJGT/Homer - I've posted when possible today, but have read every thread and comment. I'll add my sincere thanks for all of your efforts today. You beat everything, you know that?
ReplyDeleteGet some!
my favorite post was Seanzie's comment about the LSwho fans and their small hands
ReplyDeletecongrats on that Jay G this things a growing
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going to buy with your page view bonus, Jay G?!
ReplyDeleteJay,
ReplyDeleteYou did do an absolutely over the top job today. You kept us updated quickly, several times I got tweets from you before I got the ones from the athletic department. Plus the blog was chock full of wonderful information about all the signees. In all seriousness, thank you so much for all your hard work.
Great job Jay G!
ReplyDeleteADAMS!
ReplyDeleteWhile none of this means a lot unless these kids pan out on the field, it definately helps to see our name up there near the top.
ReplyDeleteTo Jet's 3:54 post, I'm invested.
ReplyDeleteYou summed it up well there my friend.
Rumor has it we may get a 2011 commit in the next few days..
ReplyDeleteRumor has it I need to get back to work. I'll catch up with y'all this evening after JGT has posted his in depth analysis of the spring depth chart.
ReplyDeleteJay,
ReplyDeleteBest coverage of an event on the internet that I have seen. I am not restricting that statement to sports coverage either. Thanks man.
Jet,
ReplyDeleteI am in for 3000 shares.
Then you clearly didn't follow the online news coverage of Michael Jackson's funeral, IV.
ReplyDeletePage view BONUS.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea.
JGT: he's good at his trade.
ReplyDeleteGet some!
Everyone finally catching their breath?
ReplyDeleteIt's gone dead hasn't it Eddie. I think everyone has gone blind from staring at their computer for so long.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm strugglin' a little right now.
ReplyDeleteJay G, Recruit'in Freaknik struggling???? Never :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, everybody has poped a cigarette right now and is passing out.
I think everyone is probably struggling right now.
ReplyDeleteA post-Thanksgiving type nap is surely the order of the day.
The inevitable happened, USC jumped Auburn & Texas in the Rivals ranking and is now #2. Auburn slid to #4 where I expect them to remain.
ReplyDeleteIf reporting services gave out stars our Gracious Host would have six...great work today Jay, and the hotties really brought it! War Eagle everyone!!
ReplyDeleteJayG's really outdone himself today.
ReplyDeleteAnd I've loved every minute of it. Great work.
I'll amend the rankings, Eddie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
All that Eddie from a school with a new staff, following a crappy season and with an impending NCAA hammer about to fall...something is definitely rotten in Denmark.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making this the BEST DAY IN HABOTN HISTORY.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun. We'll have to do it again.
364 days from now?
ReplyDeleteSame Bat channel.
Same Bat time.
Loved the Recruitmas tree this morning. Shouldn't it have had 5 stars though ;)?
ReplyDeleteG, thanks for all of your work today. Everyone contributed a lot today. I'm glad I found this site a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteMy only question is what do we do now? Poke fun at walmartians, watch the NBA or take bets on the next AU BB coach?
G, thanks for all of your work today. Everyone contributed a lot today. I'm glad I found this site a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteMy only question is what do we do now? Poke fun at walmartians, watch the NBA or take bets on the next AU BB coach?
I myself and going to continue watching motocross, and pray that April comes soon and brings baseball season with it.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll spend my spare time planning a trip someplace warm, preferably with some nice reefs and maybe a wreck or 2 to explore.
ReplyDeleteNow if I can just figure way to afford it...
The Anna Nicole death hearings were covered pretty well....
ReplyDeleteI'll return to my originally scheduled programming of college basketball and soccer with a heavy dose of Winter Olympics about to be inserted into the equation.
ReplyDeletePlus, winter workouts will soon be underway, and then it's Spring Practice, and then it's Tiger Prowl and Big Cat Weekend Part Deux, followed by another summer of frenzied anticipation of the upcoming season.
It never ends...
what did Sensi do?
ReplyDeleteSensi was wet blanket.
ReplyDeleteId swap classes with UF but we get to keep Dyer and Newton
ReplyDeletehttp://sports-ak.espn.go.com/ncf/index
ReplyDeletecool picture here front page of espn recruiting of Troop and Chizik high fivin...trooper not wearing a hat?
Jay G who's a grumply alumni????
ReplyDeleteI am a HAPPY alumni!
'Cause we out and got us some....Tigers!
grumply....well, you know what I meant!
ReplyDeleteWaker,
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay in responding. It's hard to keep up on a phone...
I'm happy with our class. I don't know about other Bama fans, but three straight top five classes ain't bad...
Auburn had a great class too.
You shouldn't be happy. Saban's set the bar high, and you should accept nothing from him but recruiting national championships.
ReplyDeleteI know your happy FSJ, you are a reasonable fan who realizes that a top 5 class is nothing to scoff at. I was wondering about the idiots you see posting on message boards. I wondered if they were upset they didn't have any real big surprises today and didn't get Coleman or Stone.
ReplyDeleteI saw some Auburn fans on other boards who were up in arms last night about how Chizik wasn't a closer and it would be his undoing.
There are idiots everywhere.
Either way glad your happy, but wish you were happy about something else.
Hottie Ho!!! Home from work and settled in for the night, contemplating the bowl of ice cream I'm obilgated to consume in about an hour.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! What's more impressive? Chizik & staff recruiting class or Jay G. Tate's nonstop coverage? What an amazing day!!!
I'll be interested to see how UF's and USC's classes do over the coming four years. I don't think I've *EVER* seen an average star ranking as high as the one USC has(or had when I looked last) on Rivals...
ReplyDeleteBig props to Jay G for the coverage today.
ReplyDeleteAlso wtc's mom was about 99% in her predictions..Can't beat that with a stick.
I heard not a single person from UF's class is expected to qualify.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe I was just wishing that.
Rivals is biased towards USC.
ReplyDeleteI broke a rule today ... I listened to Fbomb for the 25 minute ride home ... while we're not in Faker's cage, we're clearly in a whole bunch of other Bammers' cage.
ReplyDeleteI heard four straight callers in a row -- including Shane -- stumble and bumble.
THT,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you got those new glasses I sent you :)
No more ice cream for me for a few days. Staying with my daughter is dangerous to my weight. She can eat anything and not gain a pound - those days are over for me :(
Yeah Jet..
ReplyDeleteI heard some of those...I also heard some on the other side that were acting like they had won the national championship. It works both ways on talk radio.
cincy,
ReplyDeleteI've got to get back on my diet....I've been backsliding the last month for some reason.
Gotta get rid of the 5-7 lbs I've put on.
Jet,
ReplyDeleteThe portion of fbomb I listened to had him really pushing the bammers buttons. He kept talking about how great Auburn had done, it was killing them.
FYI: We'll have a special Thursday edition of Hatin' With Jay G. in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI will be heading toward Kentucky in the morning for a family event. I'm ready to rest for a few days after what all has occurred during the past week!
One other thing..I saw the pics from the PC where Keenan Allen and his half brother signed with Cal...
ReplyDeleteSaban was 100% correct in not giving his brother a scholarship. If he's a major college talent, I'm the next CEO of Apple.
Jet - shame on you; go wash your ears out with soap. Squirt some hand sanitizer in your ear holes.
ReplyDeleteCincy -thanks, but I haven't put them on just yet. I've still got memories of Leon Hart, Tony Bell, Raven Gray, etc.
RAVEN GRAY.
ReplyDeleteThere's a name I had forgotten.
what time JGT?
ReplyDeleteSweet. I was hoping for sum Thursday HATE. Safe travels
ReplyDeleteyep, I think Raven Gray gave a huge boost to the rankings of two AU recruiting classes. Unfortunately he didn't qualify the first time around and had a blown up knee the 2nd time. At least that's my vague recollection.
ReplyDeleteFSJ I'm in the same boat. Having to make sure I'm in the gym. Rough.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand something. I am probably showing my ignorance but here goes...
ReplyDeleteJust a few weeks ago USCw was the school of doom and gloom because of the Reggie Bush, etc issues, right?
I figure surely the NCAA would issue some sort of sanction against them. Did all their wrongdoings just go away, get swept under the rug or such or have they not been issued yet?
If not, granted, most likely they will just get a slap on the wrist but IF the penalties are more severe will it not effect/affect (whichever) this class in some way? I mean the point is usually punishment of some sort, isn't it?
Am I making any sense whatsoever?????
This post may possibly self destruct in a few minutes because I sometimes ask very stupid questions..
9:05 a.m. CST
ReplyDeleteScottie, did you say ... I'M ON A BOAT! I'M ON A BOAAAAT.
ReplyDeletemissinit - investigation still going on.
ReplyDeletehttp://bit.ly/4W72Od
I curious as to how much of that class was Kiffin's and how much was Carroll's. I suspect most of it was Carroll's doing and Kiffin was doing good to hang onto them.
ReplyDeleteMissinit, I think if they get probation players can transfer without sitting out a year.
Norm and Scottie B, can you quit using my real name on Facebook. When my friends, family and coworkers find out my real name is Peter Frankenscmidt, and I'm really a jackass, they're gonna freak out. My facebook/birth name helps me blend on and not get noticed, and I'd like to maintain that.
ReplyDeleteLadies and Gentlemen, I would like to announce that not only do I have F4* in the house, he's also quite alert to what's going for a 3 y/o. He picked out his clothes today and made sure his 34 AU jersey was worn with pride. He knew the importance of today for AU and did his part. He'll be one we're rooting for one day, I just know it.
ReplyDeleteGet some!
I wonder if "Get Some" will take over "Hottie Ho" when it comes to HABOTN rally call of choice.
ReplyDeleteYes sir, I'll refrain. Sorry Spike.
ReplyDeleteNo prob PF. From nowon please refer to me as Scottie Durden on facebook. It is imperative that everyone think I am schitzo and am plotting to destroy yhe world.
ReplyDeleteIM ON A BOAT!!!!!!!!!!!
9:05... excellent timing. I've got the long commute tomorrow and will arrive at 9. I'm going to try and listen on The Man's computer.
ReplyDeleteGet sum of that JG!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard anyone actually say Hottie Ho out loud. I bet they do that when I'm not around.
ReplyDeleteI vote for "Get Some" it works on many levels.
ReplyDeleteGet some!
I have heard a large group of people saying "Hottie Ho!"
ReplyDeletejhag left me a little present today with the introduction of "errybody"
ReplyDeleteP.F.
ReplyDeleteYou should have been at the Outback Bowl. HOTTIE HO resonated throughout the confines of Raymond James Stadium followed by HOOKUM HORNS.
We do PF and it is so ausome.
ReplyDeleteThere was a birth of a new WAR EAGLEHOOKUM HORNS cheer as well.
ReplyDeletesee, I knew it happened behind my back. If we were on the Real World together, I'd be Puck
ReplyDeletePF - we hollered a bunch of Hottie Hos/Hoes/Hose? in Tampa. Maybe it was a bunch of Hotties Ho. Or a bunch of Hottie Hi?
ReplyDeleteHow about "GET SOME ERRYBODY" as the new HABOTN greeting.
ReplyDelete"You just sit on the couch and be ... sittin' on the couch," -- Puck to Rachel during Real World: San Fran
ReplyDeleteThat's the only season of Real World I ever watched. Puck was awesome.
ReplyDeleteRe: JUCO Bonolomo (from AU web site)
ReplyDelete...played in just five games as a sophomore
That doesn't sound good. Wonder what his health status is.
Shoulder. He's "OK" now.
ReplyDeleteHey everybody. I have been out of pocket today and just got in front of my computer. Did I miss anything?
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. This is the best web site ever. My coworkers are constantly in awe of my auburn "scoops". If they didn't waste their time "working" at the office, maybe they'd learn something useful. Idiots.
Thanks Jay for the great coverage.
thanks, jgt.
ReplyDeletebtw, why aren't you asleep? Afraid we'll misbehave?
is it true UA-T signed a punter who averages almost TEN yds more/kick than the punter AU signed?
ReplyDeleteI thought the 38 yard average seemed a bit low THT. Maybe that is net average and his coverage team wasn't great. Or maybe scouts think he has great mechanics and just needs a little more work/ tiem in the weigh room.
ReplyDeleteBut yes the bama punter's average is 48 yards and JGT listed our guy's as 38 yards.
or maybe our kicker was on a better team and rarely punted from inside the 50. And their punter was (and will be) on a LOSER team and always had to kick from his own 20.
ReplyDelete(Don't spoil this for me)
The thought actually crossed my mind THT.
ReplyDeleteThey are ranked #19 and 20 so I there must be some explanation for the disparity.
ReplyDeleteHe averaged 37.2 ypk
ReplyDeleteGet Some......Walmartians!!!
ReplyDeleteHow is it going tonight folks. Very good day for AU. As stated before, we need to put a good product on the filed in 2010 and follow it up with another class like this one. Chizik has moved the bar much higher on recruiting and the key is to keep it there.
ReplyDeleteNight to the very few hotties who haven't gone into a comatose state after recruitmas.
ReplyDeleteok, time for me to go GET SOME...
ReplyDeleteICE CREAM
Good night Hotties
FSJ-mom says thanks for the kudos. I think she missed two out of those that were discussed. Lattimore and Jones. she will take a day off and start working on the 2011 class. Recruiting is a 24/7/365 gig.
ReplyDeleteoh, hi wtc.
ReplyDeletebad timing on wake and my parts there.
Still, I gotta go get my ice cream. Have a great evening.
Goodnight errybody.
ReplyDeletePiece.
Maybe Thursday we can discuss who we think is going to contribute in 2011.
ReplyDeleteI recall my statements of Benton, Blake, Lutz being big-time contributors in 2009. What do I know?
g'night dood
ReplyDeleteexcellent day's work
In Benton and Blake I trust....well maybe I only hope. But hope I do.
ReplyDeleteI can't quit thinking about chocolate pecan pie.
ReplyDeleteGreat Day. WTC, thank your mom for all of her hard work as well. Looking forward to her first report on the 2011 prospects. I hope the report is good.
ReplyDeleteGood night all.
will Darvin have same level of success with the next QB?
ReplyDeleteI just looked at Rivals. USC has the number one class. They passed FLA. Kiffin has 20 recruits. 5 with 5* and 14 with 4*.
ReplyDeleteThat is a killer class. Let's see what he can do. But no matter what, he took the #1 spot in this race.
If this was posted previously ..apologies in advance.
ReplyDeleteHoopie's mom explained that the reason the coaches were so excited when CL comitted, was that he called the night before saying he was gonna go to FSU. Coaches asked him to sleep on it and then....well we all saw the pic.
wtc, did your mom hear something similar.
Orgeron works his magic wherever he goes....
ReplyDelete...and that is one shady dude.
Good quote from Chizik earlier tonight:
ReplyDeleteChizik said the 2010 class met all of AU's most pressing needs including the OL, DL and LB positions. AU's class consisted of six offensive linemen, six defensive linemen and four linebackers.
Dayum ...recruiting kinda ended in the east and while no one was looking LK kept signing 5* recruits. I looked on Scouts at one point and all earlier commits were signed. He musta got 2 more 5* guys after Seantrel.
ReplyDeleteHoopie-She did not but I will call her Thursday and ask and let you know.
ReplyDeleteGood night little children. Hope your Recruitmas was everything you wanted it to be.
ReplyDeleteEd O is a machine..
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be a fly on the wall when he's giving his stump speech..
i know it's late but i'm flippin this thing.
ReplyDeletenorm, you're welcome.
flip it....flip it real good!
ReplyDelete
