  1. Birmingham substance

  2. I had just finished reading about this on the Auburn website. I've never gone, but we may this year.

    ReplyDelete
  3. No Knoxville trip, which surprised me.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I've never been to one either... what goes on at these gatherings?

    ReplyDelete
  5. is that the entire Tiger Trek? If so, the odds are not in my favor.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Nice work cincy. That's the closest I've gotten to number one on my iPod!

    ReplyDelete
  7. maybe he's scared he'll get sent to Carolina Tiger Rescue if he wanders up here.

    ReplyDelete
  8. No south Florida substance. They could've doubled it as a recruiting visit to St. Thomas Aquinas, too.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I thought I saw Tampa on the list?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Anonymous8:07 PM

    What!? No DC visit?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Tim Floyd to replace Tony Barbee. Interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  12. There's a 6'7", 260# OL who runs the 100-m for his HS track team? That's a BIG sprinter (though not so big OL).

    ReplyDelete
  13. His 4.9 40 says he either isn't winning any track meets, or his top speed is massive after a slow start.

    ReplyDelete
  14. blogger having disappearing post night again?

    ReplyDelete
  15. The main thing you look for in a lineman is top speed.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'd like this clock at work to show some top speed.

  17. Nova, I love the P90X so far. I just started my 2nd week today. I was doing it at night but found it hard to commit 1 hr after work and around time with my FAUWG. So I decided to try the morning thing. I really liked it and felt good all day. I've also heard that morning workouts are the best because you reap the benefits all day. To make a long answer short. Its going to take a major commitment (1 hr a day 6 days a week for 90 days) but I think it will be fun and worth the effort.

    ReplyDelete
  18. wth is up with my posts disappearing?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mobile, in the house, awesome, I will drag my 8 month pregnant wife to the event so Chizik can see a future Tiger on board...:)Cant wait...

    ReplyDelete
  20. my profile picture is from last years Mobile event where I met Coach Luper.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So, is this like Tiger Prowl, except they bring a Vulcan along? Yea, a clever idea by giving a name to it I suppose.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tiger Prowl for the fans...

    ReplyDelete
  23. ChizSpread 2010

  24. My running partner does the P90X. He is really into it. Dropped 25 lbs within 2 months. doesn't hurt that we run 30 miles a week either. I didn't think he could drop that much. You can tell from my avatar that I am not doing P90X. He asked me to, but I haven't got time to devote the hour.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Cncy-My running partner owns the Stanely Steemer franchise in Huntsville. i will ask him what apartments he sees that are nice and in your range.

    ReplyDelete
  26. wtc... you're obviously seeing posts that I'm not seeing...

cincy, did your son get the job in Huntsville? I am from Arab, and my wife went to UAH... we might can offer some insight to the area if you have questions.

    ReplyDelete
  27. WTH Man United?!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks, wtc. I think we are going to ride up on Saturday to look around. It would be great to have some names of places to check out.

    ReplyDelete
  29. JayG-I am with you on the scholly changes for the bball team. I am not looking to win the west next season, but I am looking for a good product to be put on the floor.
I think Barbee has taken a page from the trooper, grimes and thigpen.

We got the Tiger Trek invite for the ATL meeting in the mail today. Should be able to attend.

We sometimes do the Rome, Ga. AU alum yearly meeting(small group) and haven't done ATL in years. Should be fun and see some folks from back in the day.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I guess this is similar to our Crimson Caravan.

I'll be going next month to see Saban. Hopefully there will be some recruits there that I can help "recruit"......

    I kid. I kid.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Bring your wallet & debit card, FSJ.

    ReplyDelete
  33. They've got his card number. He's on the direct deduction program with the Gadsden REC.

    ReplyDelete
  34. As my fifth grade teacher would tell me when I asked to go to the bathroom:

I don't know, THT, can you?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Woo Hoo! Just made our plane and hotel reservations for Colorado Springs. Going for the Air Force Academy graduation the end of May. We are going to spend a couple of extra days in Denver and take in a Rockies game. I love baseball! My son is trying to convince us to go to the indoor sky diving facility. That is the closest I will ever come to jumping out of a plane! Haven't agreed to that yet.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thanks, wakerider. I did as you instructed.

    Cincy - who's graduating?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Our best friends from Cincinnati's son. He and my son have been friends since they were 9 years old. These are friends who are like family to us.

I'm not sure that first sentence is grammatically correct, but I am too tired to figure it out.

    ReplyDelete
  38. How about "The son of our best friends from Cincinnati"

Sounds like a fun trip. My dad & I visited the AFA in 1975 on a trip out west.

    ReplyDelete
  39. when I chatted with 2.0 at midnight her time, she said she should get some sleep because the sun would be up around 5:30. I asked why she had to get up so early.

    "Burnin daylight"

    That's my daughter!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thank you THT. That sounds much better.

So glad 2.0 is having a good time. That is the way I am on vacation. I don't want to miss anything and I want to do as much as possible.

Well, off to bed. See you hotties in the am.

    ReplyDelete
  41. When I'm on vacation I like to have a good time.

Having a good time and getting up at before 9 are mutually exclusive.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Cincy, my roommate is in AFROTC and his father is a Colonel in the AF. He's currently stationed at Pope and went home the last few days of Spring Break. While they were there, my roommate and his girlfriend did the indoor skydiving thing. They said it was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  43. but apparently no one else is.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Everybody set your alarm clocks and/or DVR for...
    Outlaw Josey Wales

When: Saturday night 8 pm EDT
    Where: AMC

Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?

Thanks for the input on the P90X. An hour isn't that much more than I'm putting in already and I think I could benefit from a more structured program.

Morning workouts are great. They get you up and ready to go for the day.

    ReplyDelete
  46. NoVa got the jump on me this morning. For the rest of the Hotties.....

    Rise and shine, Hotties!!!!

    WARRRRRR EAGLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. It's just past Low Noon in Tromso and it's a beautiful sunny day.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Good morning all. I think you are correct Nova. This was my 2nd morning workout and I feel pretty good. I also didn't crash yesterday afternoon as I always do. I love the structure of the workouts. You can also make the easier or harder depending on what you want out of it. It is very challenging though. If I had not already been working out some I don't think I could do it. There are still some disk that I have to take breaks. Like the PLyometrics (this morning's workout).

    ReplyDelete
  49. Good morning, Hotties! I am off to do the elliptical. I do it, but I hate exercising. I started back exercising this week after being off for a few weeks, and I swear I have gained two pounds!!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. THT, OJW is hubbby's favorite movie. I have seen it like a gazillion times. He can quote every line. In fact, in both of our children's high school graduations and in our daughter's wedding, he managed to work in the phrase "endeavor to persevere"!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cincy - I already had tremendous admiration for Mr. Cincy, but WOW, that just is way too impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh my gosh, that is so funny!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I put the health of my comp on the line and hit the link.

    Jackpot!

Cincy will probably want to skip this one.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks for the heads up, ehyou. I'm not usually brave enough to click those links.

    ReplyDelete
  55. It's a show-bar. Pretty PG stuff though.

    ReplyDelete
  66. He'll go there in November, chip chip. And he'll come home with a DUBYA!!!

    WARRRR EAGLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Does Bammerham not count as the belly of the beast? There are more knuckledraggin crimpzon wearin neanderthals at the Galleria mall than there are in all of T-Town. I'm convinced this is fact.

    ReplyDelete
  68. chip chip...

    You are correct.

FSJ, I knew someone wouldn't be able to resist.

Seeing you has reminded me that I need to call my AT&T wireless next door neighbors.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Good to "see" you too THT. Great picture above.
2.0 give us a holler. You must be having too much fun.
Does anyone go to Tuscaloser on purpose?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Well, we're awful close, but I've got errands to run. I'm sure there's an able-bodied Hottie that can be trusted for my favorite post.

    Cheers and WARRRRR EAGLE!!!

  74. I went to T-town on business a couple of years ago. My customer liked me so much they gave me a job offer. I said "thanks, but no". Never even told my wife about it as she likes that area.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I actually lived at "No Hope Pope" for 3 years......AF in an army town in the middle of nowhere but actually loved it.

That was when NC State won their National Championship and it was a blast. But gave up on NFL during that time because of the strike.

    ReplyDelete
  76. seriously, we haven't hit the magic number yet?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I've probably gone too long without asking but THT who is 2.0 and why is she always traveling?

    ReplyDelete
  81. To attend or not to attend Tiger Trek. That is the question.

    ReplyDelete
  82. eddie, i can't even believe you'd lob up a softball like that. just do it.

2.0 is the upgraded version of THT himself (ie, his daughter). he's studying abroad. it's very cool & we're all extremely jealous.

    ReplyDelete
  83. she's studying, not he. u know what i meant.

Finebaum has his weekly column out that claims Beat Writers have fallen in prestige/substance and are now just media lap dogs for the schools. PF contradicts himself later in the column by using the Meyer incident as an example to make his point, then mentions that Meyer later apologized to the reporter ....which negates the argument PF is a shock jock that lives off creating controversy and I place no value on his opinion, but this does raise a few thoughts.

According to most accounts, the schools limit media access more now than in the past. This is probably due to the 24 hour media cycle, internet and the fact that the media as a whole is much more apt to emphasize/exaggerate the negative just to create a story than in the past. Beat writers in the past focused on players, formations, opponents, fundamentals, etc. Nowadays, a fight at practice or a DUI will get headline reporting. Sometimes social engineering-inspired comments are mixed in an article and disguised as "reporting".

I still see that there are well-respected beat writers like JGT out there. Maybe not as many as in the past, but still enough to fill the demand. The problem for the beat writers is that the public demand is changing. A growing number of sports fans nowadays are more concerned with the gossip of sports, than the substance of sports.

JG, thanks for what you do. Your newspaper reporting is always devoid of gossip-unnecessary opinion. Your tactful restraint, humor and control on this blog has set a great example and made this an enjoyable place for opinion to be expressed.
