Tubby Smith speaks ... sort of

Hey everyone. Minnesota coach Tubby Smith, one of two men on Auburn's initial list of candidates, on Friday dismissed reports that a jump to the Tigers is imminent.

``That's just talk ... because I'm pleased with what we've accomplished here; I'm pleased with where we are in the program," Smith said after the Golden Gophers' loss to Xavier in the NCAA Tournament. ``I'm looking forward to coming back to Minnesota."

Smith is a Southeastern Conference veteran. He spent 10 seasons at Kentucky, where he won a national title in 1997, and two seasons at University of Georgia.

  1. Tubby or no Tubby

    That is the question?

  3. Jay I am greatful for your stance on reporting the facts. Today is just another case in point as to why.
Why does a reporter (cbs guy) report something and then in the same sentence claim "it may be nothing." Why didn't he just say in other words... "I have no clue!"
I just don't see Tubby coming to AU... but then again "it may be something..."

  4. we need another tubbs to run off..

  5. Tubby is a good coach, and could make us a stable team (which is more than we have now). I just wish we could get someone that would excite the AU fans.

    To Me:
Getting Tubby would be like us hiring Larry Coker as our football coach.
A decent Coach, who won a championship a year or two after a Big Time Coach, then did nothing.

When AU athletics is in flux ...disinformation abounds. That ol' executive media-technique from the 90's continues to work for the AU AD department.

Think about it. If someone close enough to truly "know" is willing to leak the truth, then their loyalty should be called into question and probably fired. It's not hard to find out who is leaking info. Just feed them fake info and see if it surfaces. I haven't seen anyone "in the know" getting fired.

If we are truly interested in Tubby Smith, then there is no good reason for the AU AD to purposely leak that fact. It would only serve to add tension to the situation and hinder negotiations.

The best way to play the media is to feed them true, harmless inside data most of the time and gain trust. Then when an important issue needs to be "controlled", feed disinformation.

I'll buy Jet's smoke screen theory.

  7. Well it looks like the battle of the aggies is turning to be a blowout

    ReplyDelete
  8. i think its a smoke screen... no one saw the chiz coming down the pipe and WHAM... he was hired...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Jet, I'm probably wrong, but I don't think you have to worry about getting that unwanted Christmas present.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I can see it being a smokescreen, but I fear it would be to hire someone like Sam Mitchell not Mike Anderson.

I know alot of people are keen on Barbee, but what do yall think of Ron Hunter. What I have seen and read about him he has that Bruce Pearl energy, which is something I would love our coach to have.

  11. Tubby Smith is on the list.

You can say it's a lie, that Auburn has no interest in Tubby Smith, but I know that's inaccurate.

I was there, I covered it. I guess the years get away from me.

  17. I can see Tubby Smith coming back to the SEC under the right circumstances. Will he find those circumstances at AU? It could happen. And I can see Jay Jacobs making a splash hire with the new arena next year. Will it happen? I don't know. I think that I will just hide and watch and not be surprised if the Tubster is our next BB coach.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The Tubby comparison to Spurrier is spot on. Perhaps not perfect, but an improvement and a stepping stone for future improvement.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anonymous5:49 PM

JG, I'm not doubting you were told that. I'm questioning either the loyalty or credibility of the teller. See my post above for my logic.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Unless AU hired John Calipari, Billy Donovan, or Pat summitt I don't see how we could make a bigger splash than Tubby.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Rick Pitino. Pat Riley. Jim Boehim. Jim Calhoun. Possible cannonball names.

Ya'll better watch out that CH=B guy is gaining ground in the bracket challenge.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Getting Tubby would be like us hiring Larry Coker as our football coach.
A decent Coach, who won a championship a year or two after a Big Time Coach, then did nothing.

Well, except for the fact that the Big Time Coach that Larry Coker followed has exactly one double-digit winning season and a career winning percentage of just under 57% in 13 years as an HC (college and NFL), and if you consider a perfect 16–0 regular season conference record in 2003 (as well as being named national AP Coach of the Year), five SEC regular season championships (1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005) and five SEC Tournament titles (1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004), with six Sweet Sixteen finishes and four Elite Eight finishes (1998, 1999, 2003, 2005) the equivalent of 'doing nothing', then the comparison makes perfect sense.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't know if Tubby is disinformation, but this crew practices it.

All I know is that I want something else.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anonymous6:56 PM

I know some don't want Tubby as our next coach, but I'm hoping no one here would be upset about it. I know he was at KU but he did more in 10yrs there than Auburn has in it's 75yr SEC history.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would be comfortable with Tubby.

    ReplyDelete
  29. CHB ... I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't go to the airport to boo. I'll leave that for PF.

I would cheer for Tubby and hope for the best. I think the guy's a good coach, but the wrong fit.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I still think JJ should give Bobby Cremins a call just to see if he would like to rebuild Auburn as he did Ga. Tech. If not nothing lost.
he may be very happy at C of C

    ReplyDelete
  31. Didn't he also coach South Carolina, if I recall correctly.

We need this guy. We could lead the conference in Tubbys per season.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey JGT Evan Woodbery is reporting that East Carolina is looking hard at hiring Lebo. Is this rumor or fact?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Maybe if we offered to get a drunk blond to greet Tubby at the airport. Oh wait, that has been done. Never mind.

    ReplyDelete
  34. AU baseball winning big so far. 11-2 in top of 6th. Just had a 3 run double. Game on CSS in Montgomery.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 3 run homer for Hunter Morris. 14-2 top of 7th.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dang, I forgot the game was on. Is UGA still ranked? Hoover, here we come! Jay G, do you believe?

    Holy crap scorefest.

    ReplyDelete
  37. UGA is 8-9 I think.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Tubby talk is just talk... There's too much talk for it to be true.
In most cases where there is a lot of smoke there is fire... With this crew, smoke is a diversion.

    ReplyDelete
  39. AU up 20-2 over UGA right now...
Hunter Morris with 2 HR's and Justin Bryant with 2 HR (and 8 RBI)...
I'd say it's been a rough night for the UGA pitching staff ERA.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Baseball final...
    AU - 20
    UGA - 3

    ReplyDelete
  41. Luckie's pitching line sounds great. An errorless game looked good until the 9th (one of the errors was bunk though, considering some of the fielding problems they've had early.

20-3 is a great way to start the SEC season. Baseball season!

    ReplyDelete
  42. dmiller...
I said exactly the same thing earlier. We haven't heard the name of the guy they're actually going after.

    ReplyDelete
  43. If you aren't watching the buckeyes and gauchos, you should be. Amazing shot by tOSU.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am thrilled to hear that baseball win. Putting up 20 runs and only giving up three says a lot of our pitching and hitting tonight. I'm hoping we do more of that tomorrow and Sunday afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Note to Gouchos: don't shoot the inside shot if Lauderdale is anywhere near you. 3 blocks now ofr OSU's big man.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 5 blocks now....dude has a 7 foot something wingspan. His arms literally hang down to his knees.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Was planning on going to Athens tomorrow regardless of the score tonight, but ummmmm WOW!!!! 20-3?!?!

Looks like Coach P knows how to get a team going. I think it was a great move to start playing teams like ASU to let these kids learn where they stand and where they want to be. Ofcourse I'm not a huge follower of the baseball team and we very well could have been playing that caliber of team outside the conference for the past several years and I wouldn't know. The only tough part is that it seems like the SEC has 7 or 8 of the top 25 teams in the country this year. It'd be nice to be one of them again.

I also have a feeling we may have the same reaction to our new basketball coach as we have had to the recent baseball and football hires.

  48. So... with Round 1 in the books... How does everyone's bracket look?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm horrible at this picking the winner deal

  50. Hottie Ho! I hate I missed another great campfire. I stopped by to see the embers.

    Y'all have a great Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Good Saturday morning, Hotties! Round 2 begins today! I don't know why I'm excited. My bracket sucks. Next year, I'm filling out two - one that is safe and one that takes risks. That way, all my bases are covered. Where's Cincy been? She said everyone would be laughing at her bracket. She needs to start bragging on it! D. Miller and Eddie are hanging in up near the top!

After the first day of Round 1, the second day was kinda boring... I think things will start getting interesting now! Good luck everyone! : )

    ReplyDelete
  52. Morning everybody

My midwest 4 of 8 but it is the 4 I picked to win this round so I am still good. As bad as my first round was I still have all of my big guys in.

I am doing well and as expected.
Tied for last place and I had to have some luck along with the hard work to get there. Really I tried very hard to pick this thing but I know so little about college basketball.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Digger, don't feel bad. Most of the time, it's just pure luck and good guesses that brings success in the Tourney. Because, just like in football (and, I guess, most other sports), on any given day, anything can happen. A good team may have a bad day and not-so-good teams have great days. Case in point: how many people picked Ohio to beat G'town??

    ReplyDelete
  56. what bracket? i don't know anything about brackets. anyone else know what these brackets are that miller speaks of?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jet, that is why I'm with you and whoever else that wants a younger, exciting coach to be hired at Auburn. It seems that maybe after all these years, it's just a job to Tubby and he does just enough to keep his job. I maybe totally off-base because I know nothing about the situation at Minnesota.

24 out of 32. That ain't bad for a whole 5 minutes of analysis.

Years ago I followed College Basketball and seriously analyzed the brackets. After witnessing folks win the office pool while not knowing anything other than how the seeding/picking worked, I realized the futility in deep analysis. Our receptionist took great delight reminding us that she beat all of the experts. Listen to all of the sports media "experts" that study this stuff for a living whine about how bad their brackets are doing each year. Heavy knowledge and analysis can absolutely get you into the top 1/3 of every year's pickem'. The variables in a basketball single elimination tourney bracket are too great to allow for reliable predictability.

Baseball and Basketball have much greater chance for a hot streak to dominate one game than football or soccer. The pros have those playoff formats correct.

    ReplyDelete
  59. One and done makes for a lot of upsets. I know alot of this is pure luck and that is one reason that I did not expect to do well. My luck on brackets and parlay cards has always been rotten. So I just don't anticipate doing well. But I still like to play them and watch the results.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well, Everyone talked about opening the new Arena with a big name.

Maybe it IS going to be a big name, but not the team but with our coach.

Tubby Smith opens with the new Arena.

Could that be the BIG Splash everyone is hoping for?

And anyone that has a problem with CTS as our coach, is not understanding how important this could be for AU BB,

Any ohte coach we look at will not be any bigger or more qualified, unless there is a coach out there we do not know about.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Wow, MSU went from lead to nothing real quick.

  62. Hi Hotties,
If y'all start piling up the posts, someone chime in with a BEASLEY!!! at an opportune time. With less than 9 hours of cumulative sleep in the past 3 nights, I'm going to crash soon.

They start serving b'fast at 4 a.m. local time and we plan to be down there not long thereafter. We're headed to BaselWorld tomorrow. It's safe...they don't sell any stuff until the last day, which is not tomorrow.

  63. HOTTIE HO!!!!

Thanks for the all congratulations, y'all.

  64. St. Mary's is looking hot on 'Nova right now. I was 23/32 yesterday and Thursday. Three of those were sweet 16 teams (Georgetown, Marquette, and Louisville) and I had Marquette in the Elite 8 too. By no means busted, but it's not hot.

    ReplyDelete
  65. What is up with 'Nova?? IF they win this game, how are they going to do against a much higher seed?? If 'Nova loses, screw my bracket. I'll be pulling for St. Mary's!

    ReplyDelete
  66. eaglesteeler, even though you are a fellow Pennsylvanian, and I mean no disrespect by this, but, your opinion on CTS and the AU bball program is just that - an opinion. Making a big splash can come by the next coach have a great season next year.

    ReplyDelete
  67. With only one starter coming back, and a shortage (pardon the pun) of talent, I don't think ANY coach AU hires will have a 'great' season next year. Unless you define 'great' as being .500 in a very subpar SEC.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Some jack@$$ didn't completely put out the campfire yesterday and it re-ignited and torched my bracket.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I has teh interwebs again.

Hope no one shed tears over my absence.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I had Nova with a big L today anyway. Just to Richmond but I will take a loss to St. Mary's just as well.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I spent the day in the yard, only to walk in and see another portion of my bracket in flames with Villanova.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Your right Freep...It was a bad example...I should have gone the Spurrier route

    ReplyDelete
  73. The Realist via John Longshore is reporting that Tubby Smith has separated his shoulder and is no longer able to coach

    ReplyDelete
  74. Middle of the 6th, AU-4 UGA-0

Nelson is throwing some great stuff, and Paws is manufacturing some runs. Great coaching today.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Emmett ... I love me some Ron Hunter. I'd go to the airport to cheer for him.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'd be very pleased with Danny Manning.
Until I'm proven otherwise, I think the Tubby talk is just that, media talk/speculation... there is too much talk coming out about it.
Looking back at Jacob's last hires, the names that were out front in the media were smokescreens.

I have been told by several $$$ donors that the HC will be Chuck Person. We'll see if that comes to fruition. In the meantime, I'm not putting too much credence in the Tubby talk.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Georgia coming back. Nelson was pulled in the bottom of the 6th, Now 4-3 AU leads

  85. Luv,

glad to here from you. what part of PA? I grew up in a small town near the Burgh.

I really do not care whether Smith is the coach or not.

But what I am SURE i want is a coach that has a KNOWN rep for winning NCAA games. AU admin have never before gone that route. It is has always been an 'potential' coach, outside of Ellis (who had been burned out and wanted back in).

I agree that the Big Splash could be a great season. I'll take that too.

My only ref to Tubby, was because all of blogs, forums, and radio talk see that AU needs a 'sizzle' hire.

And if the hire is another 'great potential' coach, then forget the great season next year.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Auburn 2-0 in SEC play. Let's sweed the dawgs and get this road Hoover started right!

    ReplyDelete
  87. In case anyone is wondering, I don't care who the next basketball coach is going to be. If I were to take a stance though, it would be the same as SteveFC's.

    ReplyDelete
  88. At this point I'm with PF and SteveFC. I just want to see someone hired. I trust JJ will make a solid decision based on his calls with Paws, Tubs1, Chiz, and Lebo. Whether its Tubs2, Person, Dan Dan the Man Man, or whoever, so be it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Someone take PF's temperature, he is talking crazy.

Hoopie, that same crazy fan base will be the reason Tebow will be a top 10 pick. Jags think it will increase ticket sales.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Kansas is going to lose.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Northern Iowa is falling apart.

    ReplyDelete
  98. This is ridiculous. My bracket will be completely ruined, but I'm ok with that at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  99. That eases the sting of losing Nova a little. I know alot of people had Kansas going all the way. I had them falling in the elite 8.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Hey Hotties! Just popping in to say hi. How's my bracket? I think after round 1 I was 25-7, but we are on a TV free weekend, so that is just what I have gleaned by talking around. Have fun, talk to you tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  101. If you picked Kansas...well...busted.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Well, now it's official. My bracket is done. But, I don't care. I found myself rooting for UNI early on. What a performance!!!!

    Can Auburn hire Ben Jacobson?

    ReplyDelete
  103. eaglesteeler, I'm from the other side of the state - Lancaster. I don't really care who the next coach is either. With the way Auburn operates, I'm inclined to believe what D. Miller said about Chuck Person.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ben Jacobson is worth 2 mil, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous7:24 PM

I don't know about Chuck Person as a coach, but I think he would excite the fan base. He is an Auburn Legend and I think he could recruit.

    ReplyDelete
  106. My bracket is now so thin I its not worth using as TP. Now I am just rooting for Chaos.....Anarchy - Anarchy

    ReplyDelete
  107. Norther Iowa vs St.Mary's championship game.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Does a 9,10, and 11 seed making the sweet 16 help or hurt the argument for expanding the tourney to 300 or so teams?

    ReplyDelete
  109. My argument against expanding the field is simple:

A sixteen seed has never won before. The field is deep enough.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I'm not for expanding, but that argument makes no sense when you consider that a team like Mississippi State would not have been a 16 seed.

    ReplyDelete
  111. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I'm for expanding by six, but put the last 8 at-large teams in the play-in games and let them play to be the 12 seed in the four regions.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Arghhhhhh! I just found out Kansas lost. I had picked them to win it all. I am never picking a 1 seed again!

The speaker at our retreat is a Kansas grad. Someone called her to tell her K lost. She said it was good her faith was in God, not college basketball!

    Off to another meeting. Bye!

    ReplyDelete
  114. My best AU buddy has been in Cedar Falls (home of UNI) for the past 15 years, and is quite familiar with the situation up there. He told me that UNI could beat KU, but I thought it was the corn talking.

He says the relationship between the University of Iowa and UNI is similar to UA-T and UAB (except that they do occasionally meet on the basketball court).

The Hawkeyes absolutely HATE seeing UNI succeed. And the UI grads in the state gummint are trying to hamstring UNI's athletic dept by cutting off funding.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Northern Iowa beat us in 2008-09, as I recall. Perhaps it was the season before that.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Beat us rather handily, as I recall.

They are a solid team and a fine program. Their football team is consistently in the 1-AA playoffs, and both teams play in the UNIDome, which is generally packed to the rafters every time they play in either sport.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Ok..... I'm away from the tv for a while to go meet family for dinner in Cullman (All Steak)... and I get back to find out that Kansas and 'Nova both lost today. Wow!

    ReplyDelete
  118. PF...you don't make sense.

    Zing.

In all honesty, though, I don't think the logic of my argument was hard to follow.

    ReplyDelete
  119. The logic of your argument is easy to follow, it's just irrelevant when you consider that the next several teams would not be 16 seeds.

Zinging your own zingers is like laughing at your own jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I must be falling apart. I have gone from 54 to 53 in the bracket. Watch out leaders I am on the rise.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Easy PF. I was just joshin'. I feel like your sometimes on edge too much.

But I'll elaborate on my point a bit further. The point of the NCAA tourney (besides making money) is to find a national champ, right? Do we need to give out more at large bids to teams that very likely do not have a chance of winning it all?

It's great that a nine seed like Northern Iowa beats Kansas, but it's not like they're a bubble team or anything, even if they lost their conference tourney. The lowest seed to ever win the tourney is an 8 (Villanova in 1985). What's the next lowest seed to do it? A four or a five maybe?

I dare say none of these teams that won it all were bubble teams.

Whether expanding to 96 teams or 72 like Jet proposed, is anything but a little more money really coming from it? You argued with me a few weeks ago about the Olympics rewarding the first and second losers too heavily. If the NCAA tourney expands anymore, aren't we just starting to reward mediocrity by letting some of these bubble teams in?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Ha. Yep, second losers deserve nothing. I said I wasn't for expanding, just playing devil's advocate to an argument that didn't hold up until it was explained differently.

I'm not on edge, I just wanted to use the words zinging and zingers in the same sentence. I'm misunderstoood. Such is life.

    ReplyDelete
  123. True dat, yo. True dat.

    ReplyDelete
  124. The only fair way is to allow everyone in the tournament. Come to think of it though, that would kind of get rid of the need for the regular season. So, I suppose we get rid of the regular season and change it to one big tournament.

Of course, it might be a bit problematic if it were single elimination.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Is PF on the edge again?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Anonymous11:47 AM

PF seems to wander around the edge at times, but he is just getting a better view.

    No way he's a jumper.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Anonymous12:04 PM

OK, in order to even stay close, my bracket needs the following winners today: Maryland, OSU, Syracuse, Pitt, Duke, WVa, Wisc. Even with that miracle, a couple of folks may have me blocked anyway.

Purdue losing would be a defensive wish.

  128. I picked Kansas to win it all...now I hope all of the games I picked to win are losers so I can finish last.

  129. In order for bracket to stay in contention, I need a cholera outbreak.

  130. I think I may have an ever so slight chance if Syracuse and Baylor play for the national championship.

  131. Auburn Baseball going for their first SEC sweep since 2003, first sweep at UGA since 1998, and first sweep to open up conference play since 1995...Auburn 7 UGA 2 in the top of the 5th.

    ReplyDelete
  132. oops, make that middle of the 4th, not top of the 5th.

  135. Take a look at Jose Canseco's twitter feed.

Latest post is: "This is Jose's girlfriend and everyone should know that he is a DICK"

Jose's GF also failed to mention that he is a loser.

  137. Grand Slam by Hunter Morris makes it 11-2 in the top of the 6th. 1 out.

    ReplyDelete
  138. McElroy walked on 4 pitched, then has advanced to second and third on consecutive wild pitches. I think Morris's grand slam may have ruined UGA's pitcher's day.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Another walked runner. UGA's coach is just being mean now by keeping his starter in. Let the guy run laps tomorrow or something, but don't leave him in.

Man our boys can flat out hit the ball. I really think this could be a very good season. We just need to get some quality starts from our pitchers.

    On the Basketball front...

  141. We've gotten them this weekend. All three get quality starts.

Btw, Hunter Morris's grand slam, the first of his career, apparently hit the top of the wall and bounced over. He'd now in top 10 in school history in ding dongs.

  143. The UGA coach better watch out or that pitcher's mama may walk out on the field and take her son out of the game herself.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Two straight walks to open the 7th. UGA must not have anyone left in their bullpen.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Hunter follows his Grand Slam with a three run shot.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Another walk. This may end ugly. Auburn's already got 15 runs.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Pitching Change. Auburn to see UGA's 5th pitcher of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Sheesh! Another HR for Hunter Morris... he has 9 RBI on the day!

  150. Miller, what do you think about Grant still being in the game? Conventional wisdom on 102 pitches and a 15-3 lead says to pull him.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Let me guess that Georgia won't be spending any time in Hoover this spring.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Well, he got 3 up 3 down on just a few pitches, so I guess it wasn't that big of a deal to leave him in.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I dunno, Jet. They've got talent, but have had a lot of injuries early this season. If they get some guys back and get in a groove, they should be there. This was a team who was pretty close to Omaha last year, and started the season ranked in the top 15.

  154. In the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial with the photographer with the flash grenade attachment ... the guy's team has the ball in a tie game and he wants the game to never end.

What a moron. Doesn't he want to win? Or does he love their mediocre wings that much?

    ReplyDelete
  155. PF... I say give him the work.
Our starters have had issues getting beyond the 4th inning. The 5th and 6th innings they have struggled.
They need to learn to pitch late into games because, frankly, our bullpen sucks. The starters have to pitch deeper into games to take pressure off the pen.

  156. PF ...

I can't claim any significant knowledge on SEC baseball ... I'll defer to you, as you clearly follow it.

I'm just glad we got out the Swiffer.

  157. I'll defer to...well, I'll just defer. Pick a topic and I'll probably defer on it. Unless someone tells me not to in which case I may just table it.

  158. That's why the guys in Norm's car club back home called him "The Cruiser."

  159. Justin Bryant's had a crappy day after his 8 RBI performance Friday. 4 strikeouts and got popped on the knee with a pitch.

  160. Final:
    Auburn 19
    Georgia 3

Auburn sweeps the series to open up SEC play...on the way to Hoover!

  164. New thread up about Auburn Baseball...

err, maybe in a few more weeks if they keep this up.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Congrats to the Auburn Baseball team. Hope they can keep it up and make it to Hoover. Too early to tell just yet.

  166. Just popping in. AU scores 43 runs this weekend. It was my theory last year and the years before. It will be my theory next year and the years after. Big bats win ball games. Period.

  167. Sweet!!

I'm glad we finally beat UGA in something

    WAR EAGLE!!!!

  168. By the way hubby and I went to early church today and went to Augusta for an early lunch at Sticky Fingers.

We got seated and lo and behold with most of the seats in the restaurant still empty the waitress brings a family and sits them down right next to us.

Country as the day is long...decked out in their crimson garb and tacky tee-shirts, roll tiding all over the place.

Dang...you'd think all the way over here in east Georgia I could get away from the bammers....no such luck!
