- Auburn scrimmaged today. WR Darvin Adams was held out because of a shoulder injury, though he expects to participate in A-Day.
- Adams said DeAngelo Benton had a good day.
- The offense scored at least three touchdowns. They scored two early, which included a long pass from Cam Newton to Benton. He beat T'Sharvan Bell for that touchdown.
- Assistant coach Trooper Taylor was impressed with that play: ``We talk about catching balls in windows. That was a peep-hole. I don't have a drill for that."
- WR Kodi Burns caught a touchdown pass from Newton.
- Wideout Ralph Spry Jr. had a fumble and a touchdown. ``He has to get the track mentality out and become a football player," Taylor said.
- Taylor then turned around and said he's been most impressed with Spry and Blake this spring.
- Taylor said the weird scoring system of 2009 has been ditched. He said the teams will be mixed up (not 1s versus 2s) to provide some different challenges for players.
- LB Craig Stevens (left) said the defense wasn't up to the challenge initially. Once the scrimmage developed a tempo, though, he said the offense began to lose its verve.
- Taylor said the scrimmage mirrored last season (quick start, late struggles) and he let players know about it. He was not happy.
- He indicated that one of the interceptions was because WR Emory Blake made a mistake.
- Stevens said he's been impressed with the way Newton has handled business of the field. The quarterback, he said, arrived without arrogance and quietly worked to build trust.
- Adams said he likes watching Newton play because he brings the deep ball back into the fold. Asked if Newton was the only quarterback capable of throwing deep passes accurately, Adams quickly covered his tracks and said they're all capable.
- There were at least two interceptions -- one each from Ikeem Means and Drew Cole.
- Defensive coordinator Ted Roof (left) said nobody (reporters, fans) should infer things about his rotations based on what's happening right now. We learned the other day that Jonathan Evans was running with the No. 1 defense at strong-side linebacker. I still think that's significant, but Roof insists it isn't. It's important to remember that Daren Bates may fit in here somewhere.
- Roof said Bates, who is out with a shoulder injury, has pieced together a "good mental spring."
- Wes Byrum has been happy with his kicking so far this spring. He hopes to handle both field goals and kickoffs this fall.

Practice report, 4/14
Hey everyone. Practice has ended. Here's what we learned:
Practice Substance.
ReplyDeleteYipee!
ReplyDeleteSteve FC will have to eat his words now. Eltoro will start and be a star after all!
ReplyDeleteI hope Wes can get it to the end zone.
ReplyDeleteNorth London Derby begins in 2 hours on ESPN2.
ReplyDeleteFor: THT
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll come back when it's "dolled up." Nothing but substance here now.
ReplyDeleteBlogger's doing magic tricks.
ReplyDeleteTed Roof's rotations allegedly lack substance. We'll see if his lies do.
ReplyDeleteJGT - I was kidding, of course. If it will make you feel better to "doll this up", then go right ahead. But you don't have to do it for the Hotties. The substance is more than enough.
ReplyDeleteanyone know when AU's basketball home opener in the Auburn Arena will be? And against whom?
ReplyDeleteAll I needed to see was Cam scoring TDs. If he does that often enough in the regular season, we might win a few.
ReplyDeleteI'm still adding notes and pictures!
ReplyDeleteI really hope we see some good quality minutes from Ikeem Means this year.
ReplyDeleteMancester Derby begins in less than 72 hours on ESPN2.
ReplyDeleteMeans is having a very good Spring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates, JGT.
I am having a great mental spring too.
ReplyDeleteGo Manchester City!
ReplyDeleteI need Roof to coach me into having a good "mental Spring." I've had enough with Spring and Summer is threatening.
ReplyDeleteCome on you Red Devils!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like the INTs keep coming from players I don't think of as starters.
ReplyDeleteI hope ElToro will live up to the billing, but so far it doesn't appear that is so. He could start, but he hasn't been performing like the star we anticipated.
ReplyDeleteIf National Signing Day is Recruitmas, then the spring game must be ...
ReplyDeleteA-Dayster!
I hope the A-Dayster Bunny leaves me some serious treats Saturday afternoon.
FIRST!
ReplyDeleteI just added a bunch of stuff from Trooper Taylor.
ReplyDeletePicking up from the previous thread - I've had a massage from a dude in the past. It was part of some physical therapy and was a deep tissue massage which is not a pleasant experience.
ReplyDeleteu wanna talk about posting in a haboton window? this was a peep hole! there ain't no drill for this!
ReplyDeletepreach it troop!
norm....TMI!
ReplyDeleteWebsters has this to day re: Eltoro (Who still has 2 years to play football, for those math wizards, that would mean he still has 66% of his college career remaining.)
ReplyDeleteinconclusive [ˌɪnkənˈkluːsɪv]
adj
not conclusive or decisive; not finally settled; indeterminate
Roget's take:
Adj. 1. inconclusive - not conclusive; not putting an end to doubt or question; "an inconclusive reply"; "inconclusive evidence"; "the inconclusive committee vote"
"conclusive proof"; "the evidence is conclusive"
Are you talking about that LB that's a bust?
ReplyDeleteI just want to say that while it may not be evident by my performance (or lack thereof) on the HABOTN, I have had an excellent mental spring.
ReplyDeleteNow if I could only figure how to translate that into execution...
``We talk about catching balls in windows. That was a peep-hole. I don't have a drill for that."
ReplyDeleteThat's front page worthy, JGT.
I'm talking about Know-it-alls calling said LB a bust.
ReplyDeleteWho's an idiot?
ReplyDeleteSeanzie, that math is fuzzy, unless you count his year at Auburn as his "College Career," which it is not.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty certain my mental spring has sprung.
ReplyDeleteWait, what I said is not clear....oh, just figure it out.
ReplyDeletePF. I was referring specifically to the window of playing time he has at Auburn.
ReplyDeleteHe arrived as a RS Sophomore. Should he be on the team for all remaining years of eligibility he will have played 3 years.
He has only completed his first year. So 1 year played out of 3 potential years = 1/3 or .3333333, depending on how many decimal places you use. So using our rule of percents, you move the decimal to the right two positions.
If you subtract the new number, from a possible 100 percent, you arrive at 66.6667%, again dependent on decimal places remaining.
my figuring of Seanzie math:
ReplyDeleteEltoro arrived with 3 years of eligibility, of which he has used one (rather unproductively). Two of 3 years eligibility remaining = 66.7%.
well, why did I waste my time with math. Is it Fall yet?
ReplyDeleteI figured, Seanzie, but that's not what you said. You said College Career.
ReplyDeletePlus the guy turned out to be not very good.
ReplyDeleteMy bad, PF.
ReplyDeleteTHT, thanks for the double check, you're good people.
ReplyDeleteHaha this place is full of a bunch of math nerds.
ReplyDeleteSteve FC - if the INTs are coming from the "non-starters", I wonder which of these are true (if any):
ReplyDelete1) the starters are even better, and we're throwing away from them
2) when the non-starters are on the field, the QBs are complacent
3) when the non-starter DBs are on the field, so are the non-starter WRs (and they're not very good).
Only #1 leaves me with a good feeling.
Go Tottenham Hotspur!
ReplyDeleteAh a Spuds fan. Well that explains a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt's by default, I just don't like the other side.
ReplyDeleteWhich side is that? There are 19 other teams in the Premier League. And many others in the lower leagues. You'll have to be more specific.
ReplyDeleteGo Monkey Hangers!
ReplyDeleteoh wait, they aren't PL.
isn't today basketball signing day?
ReplyDeleteweren't we supposed to hear (officially) about Barbee's staff?
Finally, why on earth am I just now getting interested in basketball?
HOCKEY PLAYOFFS TONIGHT!!!! The Quest for the Cup makes March Madness look like child's play.
My NHL team made it into the playoffs. Now they need to win a playoff series.
ReplyDeleteGO BIG GREEN!!!
ReplyDeleteI was referring to today's match sean.
ReplyDeleteThe NHL is all of a sudden fun to watch when the playoffs start.
ReplyDeleteI know, Ehyou. I was being difficult.
ReplyDeletewake, do not comfuse me with a math nerd. nerd yes. math....not so much.
ReplyDeletecomfuse....apparently you can't confuse me with an accurate speller either. oh, well.
ReplyDeleteIt should be a good one, a derby match in which both sides desperately need 3 points, I can't wait to watch it.
ReplyDeletejust watching some old highlights to get fired up for hockey tonight. We lived in Pittsburgh when the Pens beat the Blackhawks for the Stanley Cup in 1992. In game 1, Pens were trailing 4-1 when Jagr madethis goal. Pens won that game 5-4 and swept the Finals.
ReplyDeletethe radio broadcast included this great comment "there are only 4 people in the entire arena he didn't deke, and 3 of them are ushers."
I scream! You scream! We all scream for Ikeem!
ReplyDeleteI hope Ikeem is the real deal and intercepts at least one a game.
ReplyDeleteByrum is happy but with what, his fieldgoal kicking or his kickoffs. If it is his kickoffs I hope they are going deep into the endzone 99% of the time.
I don't care what you losers think, I really like my musical taste. So there.
ReplyDeleteI agree Norm, my musical tastes are impeccable.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't really know what your talking about.
wake - That's okay, I rarely know what I'm talking about either. I was just enjoying a particular Bozz Scaggs song on my iPod and figured I'd probably be the only one who'd like him. Since I don't care anything about soccer or hockey, I figured I'd post a random thought.
ReplyDeleteA few of my faves:
ReplyDeleteThe Lowdown
Somebody Loan Me a Dime
Georgia
ehyou - DING! Georgia is what I was hearing at the time.
ReplyDeleteCurrently playing: "Bring It On Down To My House" by Willie Nelson & Asleep at the Wheel.
ReplyDeleteI love the syntesizer in the middle of Lido Shuffle. Boz is one of MrsTHT's favs. I saw him (when he still had Toto) in concert, but it was with someone else since MrsTHT wasn't paying me any attn yet.
ReplyDeleteA buddy of mine after getting in my car with him on: "That's a white dude? Man, that is good stuff."
ReplyDeleteI got a kick out of that.
Listening to a lot of Band of Horses lately.
ReplyDeletestill no Basketball news? on SIGNING DAY?!
ReplyDeleteoh, that's right... we've UNsigned two players.
I thought it was signing month? Weren't players able to sign starting Monday? I have no idea. but the ajc was talking about some dude signing a couple of days ago.
ReplyDeleteBarbee understands when it is Spring Practice and "A" day is just around the corner you don't talk basketball on the Plains. Cuz nobody will listen. Now if you are in Ky that is a hoss of a different flavor.
ReplyDeleteIn Chris Low's Noon bites
ReplyDeleteI like what the old ball coach said
No one will have to fire me I will know when it is time and I will say so long.
They won't own me a lot of money either.
I don't know why but I just don't want to be fired, just the way I am.
I plan on being one of the few coaches that can say I worked a lot of years and was never fired.
Early Period
ReplyDeleteInitial Signing Date November 11, 2009
Final Signing DateNovember 18, 2009
Regular Period
April 14, 2010 through May 19, 2010
Gomes is just stoning Arsenal
ReplyDeleteNorm ..Boz Scaggs sucks. As for the rest of your musical taste ..there's hope.
ReplyDeletewell, I just jinxed Gomes
ReplyDeleteHey, I like Boz Scaggs. I like his music AND he has a cool name.
ReplyDeletePF ...thought you might want to know that according to Bitter, Chandler Brooks (last year's yellow-shoed kicker)made an appearance on the live drills.
ReplyDeletewelcome back to HABOTN, EPL fans
ReplyDeleteGood looking out, Hoopie. Did he get new shoes? Yellow shoes kid will see some action this year.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we got out of the 50s today. What a wonderful day!
ReplyDeletetime for a Puppet Hour...
ReplyDeleteHelloooooo Kennesaw, GA!! Go D.A.!!!
ReplyDeleteEverythinngggg dies, baby that's a fact.
ReplyDeleteCoach Barbee was in the student center today standing in the 20 minute Chick-Fil-A line with the rest of us. I said hey.
put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty
ReplyDeleteI completely and unequivocally dislike the AU student center. I'm a fan of new facilities, but the student center just didn't make the grade.
ReplyDeleteI miss Foy Union and War Eagle Cafeteria.
I'm a bit post happy today. It sure beats being productive.
ReplyDeleteHoopie - on that, we'll have to agree to disagree. Apparently; I'm not alone in that ehyou, THT and cincy also seem to be fans.
ReplyDeletere: the mortgage problem from last year... new report "only 1 in 6 troubled homeowners are getting the help they need from the gov't"
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware the gov't was supposed to buy everyone a house. I'd like one in the mountains, please.
Barbee set a bad example. Powerful people never wait in line. Chick Fil A is a good product to endorse, though.
ReplyDeleteChick Fil A breakfast was always an opportunity to see girls in pajamas and get a chicken biscuit. Worth the trek across campus.
Puppet Hour will close in 5 minutes. Please make your selections and head to the checkout counters.
ReplyDeleteEddie Don't Jump!
ReplyDeleteDurham Bulls home opener tomorrow night, 10 minutes from my house. Two things I've never seen:
ReplyDelete1. Bull Durham
2. Durham Bulls
No need in ruining perfection. I'll stay home and watch hockey tomorrow night, just like tonight, just like Friday, just like Saturday etc etc
Coach Barbee doesn't come close to Mr. Bad Example
ReplyDeleteAs a MiLb fan, I would like to see the Durham Bulls...I still need a Macon Braves cap. Someone help me out. Call Adam Wainwright if you have to.
ReplyDeleteThere is a big difference between a player not living up to the hype and a player being a bust. ElToro isn't a bust. He hasn't lived up to the hype. Blame the hype, not the player.
ReplyDeleteA bust would be someone like Leon Hart, who was hyped, and never made a significant contribution.
A non-bust would be someone like Kodi Burns. He didn't live up to the hype, but he has definitely made significant contributions to Auburn football. If you thought 2008 was bad, it would have been a lot worse without some of the plays Kodi made with his feet.
I thought about signing, but my vert jump numbers were poor this year.
ReplyDeleteFoy Union is back open, btw. I am lucky enough to have been there the last year it was in its original state.
As for the INTs not being made by the perceived starters, there are lots of possible reasons so I don't want to guess. I just find it an interesting pattern.
ReplyDeletePF - you've got a place to stay if you ever come see the Bulls. I can drop you off at the Park and pick you up after the game ;-)
ReplyDeleteTHT, do you have any idea of the danger you just created? I've been known to take people up on offers like that. I'm pretty sure most were horrified when I showed up with an overnight bag because they were just being nice.
ReplyDeleteCaudle is the starting holder...or so much can be inferred by Byrum talking about the importance of them spending time together as reported by Bitter. Does that put hin ahead or behind Kodi Burns on the QB depth chart?
ReplyDeleteWe can at least say that Caudle is the starting clip board holder.
ReplyDeletere: Caudle as #1 holder...
ReplyDeleteI don't know, PF, but it should cut down on his INTs.
a few days advance notice would be helpful to make sure we are here. Or you can just sleep on the front porch if we're not.
Does the fg/pat holder carry a clipboard? I thought tht was reserved for people who might actually have a chance to throw (on plays other than bad snaps, of course).
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be terrified every tine Wes lines up. If the snapper doesn't get it right and Caudle has to throw, we're talking touchback or 100 yard INT.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I'm kidding. I <3 NC. He's working hard to find a place he can contribute, and should be praised.
THT, you're right about Gomes, three pretty ridiculous saves in the waning minutes. I wish Van Persie would have come on earlier. Even after the layoff he was easily the best player on the pitch.
ReplyDeleteIts currently a Salsarita's and a few other small things. The ole WEC is no longer in service.
ReplyDeletehow do you think they will divide up the teams for A-Day? I vote for the classic schoolyard version of selecting teams at midfield before the game.
ReplyDeleteWho do you think would get picked first?
Hey ROn.
ReplyDeletehowdy Pf
ReplyDeleteI think Kodi and Caudle are team captains. Cam gets picked first. Wes Byrum gets picked second.
ReplyDeleteMy picks would be
ReplyDelete1. Cam Newton (he should be all-time QB)
2. Ryan Pugh
3. Hot Carter
4. Darvin Adams
5. Craig Stevens
Just realized that Biff actually has a real podcast now, in the iTunes store and everything. I'm a little stoked on that.
ReplyDeleteBull Durham is very worth watching.
ReplyDeleteBiff Tannen?
ReplyDeletePenguins just as mediocre in playoff hockey as they were the last month of regular hockey.
ReplyDeleteOttawa 22-2-1 when leading after 1st period this year. They were up 2-1 after first tonight, now it's 3-1. From a Penguins perspective, this is ugly.
Man, I like Survivorman and Man Versus Wild, but it would be much more exciting if they would surprise them occasionally not pick them up after a week. A Sahara desert bonus week would add much more drama to the show and I am sure these guys would be surprised.
ReplyDeleteclose, Kevin "Biff" Broughton
ReplyDeletebiff was at a comedy club in bham back in february. the clips of his standup that were on the radio were fairly funny you buttheads.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, one of the dudes from the Hatin' station in Jackson. Cool. As far as morning shows, I'd say better than most.
ReplyDeleteSome schticks never die chip.
ReplyDeleteI have an American Idol improvement too. A trap door for the elimination show would add a lot of excitement to it.
ReplyDeleteCancelling it would improve it, too, SteveFC.
ReplyDeleteI vote for cancellation too. What phone number do I have to call for that?
ReplyDeleteYou people just don't appreciate good music. You are voted off the island.
ReplyDeletei just got home & my wife is watching American Idol. i hate this show. i vote for cancellation.
ReplyDeletei went out to the Tennessee Titans Carvan here in knoxville. it was cool. i met Gerald McRath & Kenny Britt. i'll have a couple pics on facebook tomorrow.
My vote is cancelling anything with the "reality" label....
ReplyDeleteKennesaw State's women's soccer team warrants a $16.5 million, 8300 seat stadium? Forget the budget shortfalls that cause program cuts!
ReplyDeleteThe only reality show I like is "Shark Tank". Inventors present ideas to investors. The investors are capable of quick, valid financial analysis.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise Reality shows bite.
There's nothing "real" about "reality" shows... that's why I hate them...
ReplyDeleteKennesaw St has a burgeoning liberal student population. Someone is probably screaming
ReplyDeletefor Title 9 equality. My neighbor just retired as the registrar, I'll ask him.
They don't even have a football team (Vince Dooley is heading up the feasibility study). Women's sports outnumber men's sports 8-6. If this is Title IX, all 23,000 of their students should be shipped off to a desert in Africa to fight against wild hyenas...not that they shouldn't, anyway.
ReplyDeletebaseball team ahead 7-1 top of 8th.
ReplyDeleteHunter Morris has a HR and 2 rbi.
ReplyDeleteGame is over, WTC... AU won 13-1 tonight...
ReplyDeleteReality shows are modern day game shows. Some of it stinks, but some stuff is great. Junkyard Wars is a great program. I hope they have a follow on show called Redneck Wars where they build stuff from junk they find in their yard. I am sure it would be a hit.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone. Haven't been around much this week because I am in BR, LA. Rest easy though because I have been mentally posting.
ReplyDeletethanks miller. My game tracker is hung up.
ReplyDeleteDon't underestimate the value of a bunch of women running around in shorts. It could catch on.
ReplyDeleteStatements of fact:
ReplyDelete1. Boz Skaggs is awesome, particularly on "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle."
2. Back in the day, Norm slow danced to "Love, Look What You've Done to Me" and had the ladies eating out of the palm of his hand.
who's up for Momma G's this Friday at 11:30am in Montgomery?
ReplyDeleteC'mon Reyes... don't blow it for my Cardinals...
ReplyDeleteIf I can get away I might be able to make it, WTC...
ReplyDeletePossibly ... I'm broke ... we bought ElTurbo a replacement vehicle today.
ReplyDeleteI've had to go out to lunch each day this week, and I've got another tomorrow.
Jay G!!! Brandon Knight...thats the guy ive told people about for 2 years on this thing...played with him for 4 years won 3 state titles in a row for AAU...hes gonna be a stud and has a 4.3 at the best academic school in florida
ReplyDeleteAnd now, young JHag, my dreams of the Brandon Knight-JHag backcourt opening the Auburn Arena next season are crushed.
ReplyDeleteCrushed.
UGGGH FACEBOOK CHAT IS DOWN UGGGHHH CODE RED CODE RED
ReplyDeleteOuch that hits close to home Jet, I let ya down!! Your a good man though dont take it personal!!
ReplyDeleteNaw, we good, Jhag. You didn't go to another SEC school. Otherwise, I'd have to petition the man to have the franchise tag taken off.
ReplyDeleteThe NCAA, though, might want to quiz you about the car and the cash inducements to go to Tally.
Tax day tomorrow. If in Montgomery, post office will not extend the hours like normal. Better get the return in by 6:00pm. I gotta go write a check tonight. Joe Biden says it is my patriotic duty to pay taxes. spoken by someone that signs the back of a check and not the front of one.
ReplyDeleteNo more political stuff from me. back to all things AU.
ReplyDeleteThe coaches have come up with snappy names for things such as Tiger Trek, Tiger Prowl, and Big Cat Weekend. Someone get them to work on some for A-Day, maybe the Tiger Bowl or something. Man, I can't believe they haven't done it already.
ReplyDeleteI ate in Ft Meade today and noticed a 2004 Ft Meade High football poster that had FAH on it. I couldn't figure out how he would have been on the team in 04. Later in the night I realized Ft Meade is a middle/high school.
ReplyDeleteJunkyard Wars? When was the last time you turned on the TV? Seriously awesome show, though. Junkyard Wars/ Battle Bots was a great lineup.
ReplyDeleteCalipari signs two of the top recruits in the country, while Barbee was sighted wasting 20 minutes in line at Chick Fil A, followed by the AU Baseball game in the VIP booth. Guess who wins? (Hint: it isn't Barbee, even though his day sounds pretty good to me).
ReplyDeleteOle Miss one ups Urban Meyer. Control the out-of-control media! They might actually be able to report something if you don't.
ReplyDeleteJunkyard Wars has been rerunning on Discovery or one of those channels. Fun show. So is Pawn Stars, Deadliest Catch is better.
ReplyDeleteI saw on the news that a mother duck was taken by hawk. The two remaining ducks are now protected by chicken wire. They did not consider that the hawk may also have chicks to feed. It was obviously the bad guy.
ReplyDeleteCarnivores always get a bad rap.
ReplyDeleteSo do Nazis.
ReplyDeleteBut Oskar Schindler was a Nazi.
Well. I hate to follow Nazi's.
ReplyDeleteGood morning and happy tax day to you Hotties. Hope you enjoy doing your patriotic duty of paying the man. It's also Hot Wife's birthday. She'll never read this but rest assured that I've already told her happy birthday in person.
Hi Hotties,
ReplyDeleteBeen at Toyota for an hour now. Fun way to spend a vacation day. I like Pawn Stars, even though the show makes me want to fast for a month. One episode had an old map! One from a mid 18th century London magazine of an Amercian colony or colonies...I don't remember. They made way too much fuss over it; it wasn't that special.
Schindler was a mensch. I'm not going to say that Nazis "get a bad rap," though. The perception and blame is justified.
ReplyDeleteA built-in reminder for your wife's b-day every year is nice to have.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOpening in October will be Broadway play about Vince Lombardi. Saw on news this morning that NFL will help produce it. As a former personal friend* of Lombardi, I look forward to seeing it.
ReplyDelete*as defined by riding on an elevator with him in a Baltimore hotel and asking for his autograph.
Full disclosure...I hate Nazis.
ReplyDeleteLombardi was before my time, but I don't imagine him as a Broadway musical kind of guy.
ReplyDeleteOK, play not musical. Still...
ReplyDeletePF- Where to begin. I see you are ripping Kennesaw State for their new $16M dollar stadium without having the facts. The facts are these: the money coming for the stadium are made up of Private Donations and alumni giving, not anything to do with the public budgets, Women's soccer is actually a revenue generating sport for KSU and lastly, the Atlanta Beat Women's professional team will be playing there as well as KSU. Easy for you to rip them without knowledge of what is going on. My wife works for KSU and the stadium is a big deal for the students and alumni, especially since their investment in the place wasn't 100%. She is also getting furloughed, and if this stadium had come from public funds it would not have happened. Also, to rip KSU for having more women's sports than Men sports is ludicrous. I have two girls and love that KSU has all the women's sports that they do. I'm looking forward to taking them to a game in the new stadium. But please, go ahead and keep ripping what you don't know and women's sports or the "lack" of men sports. I love Title IX and always have and so be it if the women have more sports than the men. It won't be long before KSU has a football team.
ReplyDeleteLombardi singing would be hilarious. Speaking of hilarious, I just read this news bite from the 1889 Roanoke Beacon, published in Washington County, NC:
ReplyDeleteA STRANGE ROCK. - The latest excitement is caused by the reported Electric rock, found near Morehead City, this State. It seems as if a certain locality in that section has been visited by an unearthly noise of late and no one had tried to find from whence it came, until last week, when a gentleman discovered this rock. By applying the telephone wire to it, it was found that the noise was caused by the vibration of the voices of Chinamen.
This rock is supposed to connect from this side of the earth to the other. A committee has been appointed to investigate the matter, which will visit China and try to find the other end of this strange rock. Be this true it will not be long before communication will be obtainable directly the earth, as well as under the sea.
So, did someone get a free trip to China out of this ruse?
I'm beginning to think that Eddie and Peter are going to have a serious disagreement one day.
ReplyDeleteHopefully not on HABOTN :)
ReplyDeleteI am just this side of dead. I did 52 minutes on the elliptical this morning. I was shooting for 60, but couldn't quite make it. Maybe if my movie had been longer....
ReplyDeleteTo Auburn this afternoon!!!!
The problem with the soccer situation at Kennesaw State is that it is a manifestation of the insidious Europeanization of our sovereign nation. It creeps in here, as well, with discussions of European soccer teams, who should be grateful that we saved their 244s back in World War II.
ReplyDeleteIn my Contract with HABOTN, we will never speak of soccer again -- unless Auburn becomes competitive or starts a men's program.
Jet,
ReplyDeleteYou keep me on my toes with your many aliases.
Jay,
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the article on AU football in today's MA.
Mancester United versus Manchester City on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh. Ebro didn't heed the mandate. I'd expect dire consequences if I were you.
ReplyDeleteI ain't scurred.
ReplyDeleteWell...maybe a little.
Jet is trying old political tactics that will not work here :)!
ReplyDeleteI still like errybody, but I also still don't like soccer.
ReplyDeleteSoccer was not good to me yesterday. It happens.
ReplyDeleteI do have some good news. After a 6 month hiatus from trivia, my friends and I returned to continue our quest for the no. 1 spot and 50 bucks at our local pizza chain.
We were shorthanded, as we usually have 6 players and we only had 4. We played fair and were sitting in 6th place going into the final question, about 7 points from first.
We bet the max 15 points on the final question and got it right to take down the win and the 50 bucks. Our randomly chosen team name we've never used before: Cam Newton 4 Heisman.
I personally think it's an omen. A harbinger of good things to come. And to think, this happened the week of A-Day. Coincidence? I think not.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this blog for a couple of years I do believe that you men have a much worse case of 'raging' hormones than us meek and mild women!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSoccer has not been good to me for two weeks now.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that changes on Saturday, or on June 12 in Rustenberg, South Africa.
Failing that, Auburn better beat Alabama this year or else my sports Gods have totally forsaken me.
as my physiology professor at AU once said, "You can synthesize an enzyme, but you can't make a hormone"
ReplyDeleteTime to flip it.
ReplyDeletewow ALL flights in UK and in some parts of Europe cancelled due to volcanic ash
ReplyDeleteNorm, where you is?
ReplyDelete200.
ReplyDeleteBoom.
ReplyDelete$.25 to Will Muschamp.
ReplyDeleteOne Habotn.
ReplyDeleteTHT, you are phonetically funny, if slightly off color.
Seanzie - where is your pizza establishment ?
Blue Moon Pizza on Windy Hill Road.
ReplyDelete
