  1. You really make a living buying stuff at yard sales and selling them on ebay?

  2. He thinks I don't notice it, either, but I do. I'm watching you, Shoemaker. I'm watching you.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Haha, thats jsut a part time thing. But it does very well.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I need a drink.

  5. You know who's a good QB? Kodi Burns.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Jay. Have you any information that the coaches DON't have confidence in Trotter, or are you basing your choice of Moseley on positive comments about him?

    TROTTER!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think I just saw Scottie B on TV. He's just barely to the right of home plate, way up high.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey, I know. Lets put a guy in at Wildcat that can't complete a wide open pass down field and can't really outrun anyone, or add a NEW dimension to the offense.

Jay. Is any mention going on regarding wildcat?

  9. Just looked at the cover of TIME magazine. RSJ is on the cover....looking a little like Gandhi.

His health issues have taken a toll on his appearance.

I like how Coach Boulware says "striking" the ball when talking about punters/kickers. I've often believed the notion that the kicking specialists are very much like golfers in that so much of their game is mechanics and mental preparation.

  11. Braves are working Zambrano.

Thanks for the video, Cinematographer Tate. I can't see it here at work but will certainly get the popcorn and diet coke ready when I get home.

  13. "Welcome to the big leagues Jason Heyward"

    ReplyDelete
  14. Just an opinion on Moseley. I think Trotter is valuable and valued here and all ...

    ReplyDelete
  15. All I've seen of Moseley is what you've shown me, JGT. But I've had very good vibes about him since the day he signed. I've been on Phred's Moseley train from the get go. Or was it Freep's train. I get the Ph's and F's confused.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Heyward isn't ready for the bigs, he needs another year in AAA.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Time will tell on Heyward.

My guess is that's he'll struggle in May and June before going .285/.340/.485 after the AS break.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Plus, Heyward never touched AAA! He barely touched AA.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Also, Obama was clearly aiming for that batters head. There is no other reason to throw a pitch where he did.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah I thought about that after I said it. I predict he won't hit a homerun all season. Yeah thats right not a single one.

    ReplyDelete
  21. And I value that opinion Jay. You're there and I'm not. My opinion is based on some dude's I know that see practice occasionally. Every time they see Trotter, they say he's looked good. Looked better than Burns (not hard to do), Caudle and others last spring. Then cut down by knee injury. I saw him a lot in HS. To be fair, I know nothing about Moseley, other than as Phred says, he's a winnah...

    ReplyDelete
  22. If you've got Zambrano on your fantasy team....sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Agree with everyone else, Cam's got to be the guy. They wouldn't waste a JC scholly on him if he wasn't.

Regarding Caudle, I think he's sentimental favorite of many, but the knock on him is and always has been to date, he looks great one play, then absolutely makes the bonehead throw (INT) the next. don't think these coaches are going to stand for bonehead int's. We can't afford to give the ball away.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Malzahn worked diligently to keep Moseley here after he pondered a transfer during the winter.

That tells me Malzahn has plans for the kid. I don't know how that will change next February when I expect Auburn to sign at least one major QB prospect.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jay. Have you any further insight on Barbee's progress so far? Still think we will get a couple of difference makers.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Jay. Exactly. That much I know and agree on. That's why it wouldn't shock me that if they really like Trotter as well, they may name both co#2.

I don't think we can afford to lose a QB to transfer now that Tyrik is gone. Maybe his leaving helps up keep Moseley as well.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Barbee is in a dead period right now ... through the 7th. He's been at the Final Four doing his thing. I'm aiming to meet with him this week. I'll update you then.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks Jay. Appreciate all you do. I'm out. Need to do some work.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Cam was brought in to do one thing and one thing only and that is to be the starting qb. The guy is an absolute physical beast, especially when he stands beside PPL or McCalebb. I agree that Moseley will be the 2nd string b/c he has the most upside. He is young and we hope Cam will be the starter the next 2 years. Moseley will be ready to start his RS. Jr. year after getting 3 years of development.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So far so good on ESPN 3. Very nice.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Eric, that depends on what Auburn signs in February. They're going after some really good QBs.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Of course, I look like a physical beast while standing next to 5-7 PPL.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm headed for the soccer field.

Costa Rica (good guys) v. Jamaica (bad guys) for berth in the Montgomery YMCA U-8 indoor finals.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Beast Tate - has there been any reports on how Wes Byrum is kicking this spring? Any idea if we will get kickoffs into the end zone this Fall?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think there is subject/verb dissociation in my prior post. The grammar police can write me a ticket.

  36. Tar Heel Tiger said...
I want Butler to win. I don't like bigdaddy, oops, I mean Puke ;-)
Plus if I don't have a dog in the fight, I always pull for the underdog.

WOW thanks Tar I feel the love from this group HA ha

    ReplyDelete
  37. bigdaddy - if you need me to pull for Puke, I could do that. Frankly, I could barely care less who wins.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Holy Crap, Jeff Samadzija is pitching. Remember when he was a college football player?

    ReplyDelete
  39. whoever AU signs @ QB in 2011 should not affect mosley or trotter. caudle will be gone, newton will have one more year available.

mosley and trotter will both have the advantage of a few years in the system over any new kid coming in playing. and they will understand firsthand the uphill battle the new qb will face in learning the malzhoffense. unless he is a total physical freak and a man among boys, they shouldn't have much to worry about in 2012. does anyone really want a tru frosh starting anyway? we all know what that leads to: Ls. even for the guy who finishes #2, he is likely an injury away from being the man. unless the new kid on the block's last name is tebow, i'll prefer to sit him a year or two regardless.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks PF for the links earlier. My friend in Chi-town says Samadzija may do some double duty with the bears.

    ReplyDelete
  41. i'm fairly happy with the braves today i mean 16 runs is not too shabby. Making Zambrano leave the game with a ERA of 54.00 is always fun

    ReplyDelete
  42. With regard to Moseley, I have liked what the coaches said about him when he was on the scout team, he is a big QB with decent speed/size, and he came from a small highschool, which means he could be underrated. Those are the things that have caught my eye, although what is missing is actually seeing him playing on the field, which should figure in there somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  43. As far as Trotter goes, I have seen good comments, but the comments I heard gave me the impression he is going to end up being a coach some day. I am not sure why I got that impression. It has been a while since I read much on him.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Malzahn's QB's don't grip the football by it's laces?

    How did I miss this?

    ReplyDelete
  45. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  46. On of the videos had Cam doing it both ways.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Sorry, I meant to say that I was surprised that Malzahn doesn't have his QB's exclusively grip the football by its laces, but instead whichever way is fasted to get rid of the ball.

Even so, that still kind of floors me.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Sean Marshall had two 2/3 perfect innings this afternoon, and Samardzija had a 108.01 ERA.

    Ouch.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Braves fans should be happy today...

I am happy also... Pujols with 2 big fly's, local kid Rasmus with a shot... Nice opening day for my Cards! They shelled Cincy's Reds today!

PF, the guy you thought was Scottie B... was he dressed head to toe in Under Armour? If not, it was probably an imposter.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Miller,
I am a Braves fan at heart and have been for 100 years, but when we moved to Cincinnati I had to pull for the Reds. Mr. Cincy pulled for the Big Red Machine when he was a kid. It is just a fun club to pull for, even though they don't win that much! I like the Cards, too, cause my parents lived in St. Louis for a few years and I loved going to games there.

    ReplyDelete
  51. braves!
    D U K E tonight baby

    ReplyDelete
  52. Pulling for Duke is like pulling for UAT ... or Duke.

    ReplyDelete
  53. not when your cousin played there...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Today I am oblong but I read fast and have caught up.
    Good substance Sportswriter Jay.
Mosley, Trotter number 2, I don't care either one will do nicely.
Braves dun blasted the Cubs. New kid looked really good, but like Jay said he will hit a slump and then we will see how he comes out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just giving you a hard time Cincy... I didn't get to experience the Big Red Machine... but being a baseball fan, I am very familiar... they were great.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Network nightmare at work late today bogged me down, but I did make it home in time for Chuck.

now to Caps & Bruins starting the 3rd period tied at 2 (since there's nothing else on worth watching).

    ReplyDelete
  57. Let's Go Butler!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Bummer. We're past the halfway point of spring practice :-(

But that just means we're closer to the real thing:-)

Cecil B. deTate - just watched your latest full screen masterpiece and loved it! Thanks!!!!!! Can't wait to see Means play.

Any truth to the rumor that Shoemaker is using footballs he found floating near the top shelf of Terry Daniel's closet?

    ReplyDelete
  59. I heard Brad Stevens was upset after Butler won Saturday night... apparently the game went too late and he missed his high school prom.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Butler is getting it inside trying to draw fouls on Zoubek

    ReplyDelete
  61. Butler can't get anything to drop... They're gonna have to hit shots to have a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Bruins 2 Capitals 2 with 5 minutes to go.

Bruins in 7th place currently, but 9th & 10th place teams could still bump Boston out of the playoffs if the Bruins don't get some points in the final week. Caps have best record in NHL wrapped up already.

UPDATE - headed to OT, tied at 2.

    ReplyDelete
  63. uh oh, Caps get a PP in OT. We've got 4 on 3 hockey. With Ovechkin part of the 4, that's just not a fair matchup.

Yep, I couldn't even finish typing that before the Caps score PP goal to win in OT.

    ReplyDelete
  64. This Butler team is very similar to Auburn's Mens team, almost identical.

    ReplyDelete
  65. If you mean that both teams play with 5 players on the court... then yes, identical.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well, that and they are all pretty short. The strategy is similar, except Butler players move around on offense. And the other minor difference is the Butler players move about twice as quickly. Other than that, they are identical.

    ReplyDelete
  67. no more hockey on my tv tonight. Wake me up when the talk returns to AU football.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Man, someone should have told our players they are allowed to move around like that on offense. It seems like a good strategy.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I wasn't aware that AU's team moved at all on offense last year? I must have missed that one time...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wait you mean auburn played offense, i don't remember that

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well... they threw the ball wildly in the general direction of the basket at times... that was their 'offense'

    ReplyDelete
  72. thats true miller i do remember times like that

    ReplyDelete
  73. By the way... Scarlett Johanson... yeah, she's hot.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I hate Puke. They get all the BS calls.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Duke is ahead by 1, but I considered that half a win for Butler. They proved they could hang with them and you have to think those Duke big guys are going to get tired trying to keep up with the amazing pace Butler sets.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Auburn was extremely offensive this past basketball season, what are ya'll talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  77. But you weren't defended.

    ReplyDelete
  78. He couldn't be defended.

    He who, you ask?

    ReplyDelete
  79. HELLOOOO KENNESAW, GA!!! Go Darvin!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Forgive me if already posted, but apparently Jason Campbell was not given a heads up to the trade that brought Donovan McNabb to the Redskins.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yeah.... J-Cam was done dirty with that one... Hopefully he'll get a ticket out to a better/stable opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  82. 2.0 has a ticket out of Stockholm to Skopje, Macedonia today. She had a 4 a.m. alarm/wake up call to get a cab to the train station to get to the airport for her early flight. (4 a.m. was 45 minutes ago)

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm heading to bed now so the noise from the bonfires starting up a few miles away won't keep me awake.

    ReplyDelete
  84. There was a new movie I want to see....
    Robin Hood... trailer looked good.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 1 more defensive stop... C'mon Butler!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Great game. Man, that last shot was close. Butler sure had a lot of fight in them.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Coach K has had a couple past few years

    ReplyDelete
  88. I felt like I was watching two so-so teams play for the national championship tonight. Kind of devalues the "good game" factor a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Outcome extremely disappointing

    ReplyDelete
  90. Heyward's last shot from half court only missed by about 2"... That's how close Butler was to winning it.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Not only that, both of his shots were teasingly close.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Michael - I think you're WAY off to say that these two teams are "so-so" Did you watch how they guarded? Did you see the team concept? Passing? Shooting? Defending? Two very good teams.......

But in more important news -- I finished 2nd in the HABOTN bracket contest

    ReplyDelete
  93. In the pantheon of NCAA champs, indeed jhag, Duke this year is so so. Among other teams this year, sure, Duke is probably one of the 5 best. Also, Brett Favre's career is vastly overrated.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Brett Favre, very streaky, only had one ring for all the hoopla. He and Eli Manning are tied...what does that say about him?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Congrats to bigdaddy for winning this year's HABOTN Bracket Challenge...

    ReplyDelete
  96. Brett Favre and Duke are equally bad

    ReplyDelete
  97. The local Atlanta news is terrible. Worse than Duke and Brett Favre combined.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Morning, Hotties! It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'm predicting - it's still dark, but I'm sure it is going to be lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  99. There is a head line on si "Roger's loaded gun had bullet in chamber". Well duh, if you have a loaded gun with no bullet in the chamber it A) isn't really loaded and B) your an idiot.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Good morning folks. You know I don't follow basketball so I'll tell you this about what I do follow - 151 days and counting until we once again have real football.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Good morning all. My hatred for Puke is moving closer to the ultimate hate....walmartian hate.

I'll be ever so close to the mother land today...Auburn (not heaven)but I won't actually get to visit. That stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  102. When Butler players and coaches watch this game, they will see so many missed shots at the rim. And they will be sick.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Good article in the MA, Jay. Lots of interesting battles going on.

    ReplyDelete
  104. My thoughts Jet. If half the borderline layups they missed had dropped, it would have been out of reach at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Mike and Mike on ESPN have a poll asking if coach K is the greatest of all time. I said NO WAY John Wodden is still the greatest by far.
K might be in there somewhere with Rupp, Smith et all.

    ReplyDelete
  106. How did the soccer game turn out, Jay G? My kid is in the other semi-final tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  107. auburn baseball picks it back up tonight against georgia state, trent mummey may be making his comeback then

    ReplyDelete
  108. powlowski said he expected to have him back for the midweek games this week, his bat would be nice to have against LSU this weekend

    ReplyDelete
  109. yo yo hotttt ones?

nice to be back. i had a great time in the ATL yesterday. i tried to show some hottie love to everyone. got pics up on facebook if u wanna check 'em out.

and no Miller, i did not have even one article of under armour clothing on yesterday! or today. wait, 2 days in a row? amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  110. someone is living out my travel dreams in real. that's cool.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I prefer antique threads
