Auburn baseball wins opener with MSU

Hey everyone. Auburn recently clinched a win in the first game of its weekend series against Mississippi State.

The score was 9-6.

The Tigers (31-15, 13-9) scored six runs in the first inning. MSU (20-26, 5-17) made a push during the final four innings, but the home team never lost control.

Casey McElroy (No. 23 above) had three hits and three RBIs. Starter Cory Luckie worked into the sixth inning and earned his fifth win in six starts.

The teams resume their series on Saturday at 3 p.m. CDT.

  1. This was my first ever first comment, and it was even 8 minutes late.

I'd like to thank Jay G. for making this possible. And the internets.

Wells ..congrats on your first time. See what hanging out on the interwebs on a Friday evening can do for ya?

    Nice job BBall team.

CincyT ..unfortunately there are a few folks that lead the type life depicted in that movie. To a lesser degree, I traveled similar to that back in the day. All in all, it's a sad life. Made a lot of money, but I finally changed jobs for a better life.

A dude got tased at the TPC? I wonder if that was one of Harry's crotch-biting golf buddies? That would get you tased fo sho.

I'll man up and do 20 min on the stairmaster and then swim 30 laps in the am ...woot!

We're doing marinated shrimp and asparagus on the grill for a 20 person birthday party tomorrow evening. Ms. Hoopie will have a substantial honeydo list waiting for my return from the gym.

    manana ....calientes.

  5. Spent 3.5 hours at a banquet. Thanks to WTC for the baseball updates. Tomorrow is yard work and Mother's Day prep.

    Congrats, Wells.

Tasing at the TPC? Love it.

Jet...that's a long banquet. Gotta love the web phone to break the boredom. Does Ms. Jet allow you to surf on the phone during such event? or must it be a clandestine operation?

  7. I'm about to head out to do a Muddy Buddy race. Its a 7 mile combined bike and run. It has some obstacles thrown in along the way apparently. My old roommate form Auburn is in town and we are going to do it.

We are by no means in shape to be doing this. We'll see how it goes.

  8. Wake, I wish you the best of luck in that. They did a mud run thing for Army ROTC a while back, a friend said it was insane. I'd likely die 5 minutes into it, all my stamina from my soccer days is completely gone.

  9. Morning Hotties - rise and shine, the rest of you are burning daylight (I know THT usually says it, but I assure you I didn't hear it from him first).

Prediction: AU will sweep. Unfortunately, so will the Phillies.

wake - I've heard those are fun. We'll expect a report.

  10. glad baseball held on for this one last night. Hopefully they won't let State crawl back into it today.

  11. Out do do yard work. At least it is going to be a glorious day weather wise! Goal is to finish before the AU game this afternoon. Have a great Saturday!

  12. Hoop ...

I have bruises and slap marks on the wrist and arm ... But I would not be deterred.

  13. The muddy buddy was a whole lot of fun. Me and my buddy are going to try to get our butts in gear and get back in shape, and attempt another one this year. The biking is what got me. Our equipment was less than ideal. I have a Dual Slalom bike (only for downhill use not up hill or flat ground) that is a small frame. Me and my buddy are over 6 foot.

I am guessing we finished mid pack. I'd like to be able to finish towards the front the next time we try one.

  14. From SEC baseball SID...
What makes Auburn's baseball season even more impressive so far is they have played 19 Top 25 teams, tied for 2nd-most in the SEC

  21. 1. Went to Southern Homes and Gardens, purchased Double Knockout Roses to plant for Mrs. Jet's Mother's Day gift.

    2. Took Stewardess shopping to obtain gift.

    3. Did Mrs. Jet's grocery shopping.

    4. Went shopping again to purchase the items for the veal piccata, pasta, salad, and bread I am making for lunch tomorrow.

    5. Have to shower to take Stewardess to Papermillville to catch a limo for some couples event that will take them to PF Chang's in Bham and back for a party of sorts.

    6. Then take the food that Mrs. Jet made so her mother wouldn't have to cook tomorrow.

  22. Not too shabby, and it's only 2:30.

  23. Naturally on my first day back for the summer, my father and I cleaned everything on the outside of our house. We mowed, and tomorrow we cut back all the bushes. Woot.

  24. However, another AU win will make it all good.

  25. Rough start. Slade has given up 4 runs on 4 hits, State is stringing them together back to back. Slade also hit a batter.

For those that are interested this is a gametracker. Cool animations, runs pretty close to real time.

Honeydo list is @ 80% complete. Time to setup the grillz/tables and skewer the food. Do all that, then a quick shower and it is cocktails and guests showing up at 6:30.

May take a que from Jet and risk bruises to keep up with the AU game. Game updates courtesy of the Hotties would be righteous.

  37. Thanks for the updates wells.

For future reference, next time you type three K's side by side (as you did in your 3:21 post), maybe throw some commas in there to separate them.

Otherwise, upon first read it looks like shorthand for "Ku Klux Klan", and we don't want that.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well the Klan showed up at the game, E-Bro. I was trying to convey that.

State scored another run. 11-4 to the bottom of 5.
