Hey everyone. Auburn is going for the SEC Western Division title tonight in Oxford, Miss.
I am not there. You probably aren't. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, though, we can pretend we are.
(Click on the little movie camera next to Friday's game for live stats.)
I'll be here after 8 p.m. CDT ... approximately.
Feel free to post along as the game progresses.
score, never done that before
ReplyDeleteNicely played.
ReplyDeletethanks jgt, i've been waiting on that one
ReplyDeleteGood start... Fradejas double down the line...
ReplyDeleteThe stat tracker on Ole Miss' site is impressive.
ReplyDeletei like the start
ReplyDeleteMummey takes a casual stroll to 1st... men on 1 and 2 with nobody out...
ReplyDeleteSC: I was thinking the same thing. Serious stats
ReplyDeleteit also keeps up with the game a lot better than our game tracker
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Ole Miss pitcher has settled in now though...
ReplyDeletemiller you listening to it?
ReplyDeleteArky had the Live Stats thing too... It is much better than Gametracker...
ReplyDeleteLive Broadcast mode is pretty sweet.
ReplyDeleteWould like to listen... can't find a radio station here in the Ham that is carrying the game... if you know of one, please... let me know.
ReplyDeletesucks to give up that good start on two K's
ReplyDeleteAU strands 2 baserunners in the top of the 1st...
ReplyDeleteno score
Those K's really hurt after the leadoff double and Mummey's AB fight.
ReplyDeletejason heyward is the man
ReplyDeletei sure hope AU can come up with another big DONG tonite.
ReplyDeletespeaking of....Jason Heyward just launched one. 3 zip Bravos!
flipping between AU Softball and Braves on TV and got this on the computer.....a few too many games?
ReplyDeleteOle Miss's leadoff hitter is T. Ferguson...
ReplyDeletePerhaps Turd Ferguson in the flesh?
good start for cole, 1-2-3
ReplyDeleteGood inning for Cole
ReplyDeleteFT, that's some respectable auburn-bidness right there.
ReplyDeleteHuddy's pitching too. sounds like a good nite. prolly need a cold brew in your hand too.
scottie going to dinner in just a moment, that just might happen
ReplyDeletewow. i just pulled up the Ole Miss stat thingie. somebody contact AU baseball. that is pimp.

ReplyDeleteThat's a long DONG!
ReplyDeleteFradejas with another hit... 2 men on, 1 out
ReplyDeleteat the corners with 2 outs...
ReplyDeleteWould be nice to break this open a bit...
ReplyDeletecoaching error at 3b in the softball game just cost us a bases loaded situation....
ReplyDeletenocandu

ReplyDeletealas, the untimely K doesn't help. AU-2 OM-0 to the bottom of 2
ReplyDeleteI never have followed baseball that closely, but I had no idea Auburn would have a shot at winning the west. Simply incredible.
ReplyDeleteCole's already got 4 K's tonight. Looking pretty solid, according to the intrawebz
ReplyDeletesimulatenously cole nelson struck out the 3rd out as anna thompson did the same on tv
ReplyDeleteThat's not right at all. It's only two. The internet lied to me.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSure would be nice to win this one tonight.
ReplyDeleteGo Auburn!!
jenks with the 3 run HR, 5-0 AU

ReplyDeleteMan, Ole Miss must be wondering wahapen. Good job Tigers!!!

ReplyDeleteAU is up 10-0 heading to the bottom of the 4th.
Nelson gives up 2 straight doubles and a run...
ReplyDeleteDid the softball team win?
Here is a link to listening to the game. Go to listen live.

Is it too much to dream that AU football could improve as much in year 2 under Chiz as AU baseball has in year 2 under Paws?
ReplyDeleteNelson lost his composure
ReplyDeleteAU women lose 1-0.
ReplyDeleteNeed a pitching change now. This is his last batter.
ReplyDeleteYank him
ReplyDeleteThe wheels came off of Cole.
ReplyDeleteStruck out 5 in a row and then couldn't get anyone out. double, double, walk, single, single, walk.
3 runs later and bases loaded ends his night.
Reliever coming with bases loaded and one out. bottom 4th
Au 10-3
Slade Smith coming in to pitch.
ReplyDeleteSac fly one run scores.
ReplyDeleteUGA also uses LiveStats...not that any of you were paying attention to AU baseball during spring practice (besides Miller and Wells).
ReplyDeleteground out to end the inning
ReplyDelete10-4 AU.
You want me to stop?
ReplyDeleteHR for fletcher
ReplyDelete11-4
Cool with me, wtc....I'm busy right bow, so reading your play by play every other inning is great.
ReplyDeleteIs that Ole Miss's biggest inning this year? 4 runs is a lot for them at once.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate it, wtc, although I am getting nervous. What is worse than losing? Being ahead by 10 runs and losing. Hopefully we grab some insurance runs soon.
ReplyDeleteThey have not had more than 5 this year.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought. Sorry that Cole had to give them one of their best innings. He is definitely Joba. Keep him in the pen the rest of the year. He'll dominate there.
ReplyDeleteBases loaded for AU 2 outs.
ReplyDeleteHargett walks.
ReplyDelete12-4 AU
Appreciate the shout out, PF. Nelson's stuff earlier was money. Hopefully the 4th inning blues from tonight don't carry into the SEC tourney and the post-season.
ReplyDeleteWIld pitch
ReplyDelete13-4
another walk. loaded for Mummey. 2 outs
ReplyDeleteLovin'listening to this great baseball game!!
ReplyDeletefly out to end the inning.
ReplyDeleteAu left them loaded in the 4th and the 5th
Nelson has awesome stuf, better than most. He's just not taking it into high pitch counts lately.
ReplyDeleteThat complete game shut out against UT last weekend was as clutch of a performance as I've seen in a while. That team was HOT coming into our series with them, huge shutdown to set up Grant on Sunday.
ReplyDeletenothing happening in the bottom of 5th.
ReplyDelete13-4 AU headed to top of 6th.
I think Nelson got to @ 80 pitches tonight. For some reason, he started throwing curve balls and they hit it and then he couldn't get his fast ball over. Then he went mental and just couldn't find the plate and when he did, the hit him.
ReplyDeleteFor those still watching the espen, GT is rocking Jacksonville St. Apparently they've hit 114 DONGS all year. That's a lot of dong for a women's softball team.
ReplyDeletenice. should i go ahead and starting printing the 2010 SEC WESTERN DIVISION CHAMPIONS shirts? ;)
ReplyDeletei keed, i keed. i'll wait until the 8th inning.
fletcher with a single, morris with a single. Patterson at bat.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great college baseball website that my corndog friend turned me on to.
ReplyDeleteIts got all the day's action listed by top 30 and by conference. A lot of the time they'll accompany the match ups with links to similar live technology like this shin diggy tonight.
WooHooo 16-4!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe only threw 93 pitches, and never really got into trouble in that game....I don't know what to say about him. He's good. Really good, But take out the exception of last week, and you'd say he's been up and down. I say make him Austin's setup guy or bring him in to bail out whichever starter falls apart (it's happened at least once a weekend all year). He can dominate out of the pen. It's his destiny.
ReplyDeletePatteson goes yard
ReplyDelete4 DONGS already on the nite for AU.
ReplyDeleteMcElroy up with nobody out!
ReplyDeletenope, guess that makes 5. :)
ReplyDeletethe JOX audio is behind the HABOTN updates. AUsome! ha
ReplyDelete17-4!!! Heading to the exits
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pitch count, wtc....solidifies my opinion. That's more than he can comfortably throw on a per inning average.
ReplyDeletePF- I'd agree with you in saying he's been missing his consistency. He had a couple of games earlier this year that looked solid, then the next week he'd struggle to keep his stuff going for longer than 3/4 innings.
ReplyDeletelet's put 3 TD's on the board. come on 21!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePutting an exclamation point on winning the West.
ReplyDeleteMorris isn't going to get the pitches to break the AU single season HR Record is he?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this many dongs since I stumbled on the Red Elephant Club meeting at the Grant Hotel in 2003.
ReplyDeleteIt was my one face to face meeting with Shula. He had loser written all over him.
There was a crowd of the people on the sidewalk leading into the building. He walked like a scared sophomore in the hallways of the high school, twisting and drooping his shoulders to avoid contact.
A real coach would have parted the crowd like Moses.
I'd say that Auburn can hit... just a little bit...
ReplyDeleteKevin Ives' most recent tweet has me unable to stop laughing.
ReplyDelete"AUPPL
I'm nicknaming Kevin Patterson "The Kraken". He's a monster and absolutely "kracks" RELEASE THE KRAKEN"
i about fell out of my chair.
ReplyDeleteJet admits he went to a red elephant club meeting.
wtf?????
i'm SMEZMERIZED!!!!!!
ReplyDelete"A real coach..." Nice. I like it.
ReplyDeleteRELEASE THE KRAKEN
ReplyDeleteJet, I am truly disappointed... I never thought I'd hear such disturbing news, not from you... SteveFC maybe... but not you.
ReplyDeleteIf everything holds up, folks are saying we play LSU Wednesday at 9:30
ReplyDeletein fairness Miller, he did say he 'stumbled' upon it. still....
ReplyDelete:)
18-4!!!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone at a REC meeting "stumbles" in...
ReplyDeleteMore amazing thing about all of these ding dongs this year: Paws is a small ball coach that has put extra emphasis on moving the runners this year because AU had so any issues winning games despite the highest HR tally in schol history. To be fair, the batting averages are up as result, but I just didn't expect to see the power numbers up too.
ReplyDeleteI was at a conference at the Grand, and I was walking out of a reception, and someone said the "Red Elephants" are here, too. I was talking with some folks and Shula stepped out of a car, and looked like the most lost guy in the world.
ReplyDeleteIs there a mercy rule in college baseball?
ReplyDeletei think if AU holds on, this sets an SEC record for wins for AU.
ReplyDeleteNova... no lie... I just tweeted that very same thing.... in jest of course, because unfortunately for Ole Miss, there is no such thing...
ReplyDeleteShow No Mercy! Beat the crap out of them to the point where they are demoralized and tomorrow is esy on Grant (has tomorrow's pitcher been announced? I'm assuming it will be Grant, but haven't heard).
ReplyDeleteI was jesting as well, but this is getting ugly. I love it.
ReplyDeleteWow,have they given up?! We still have 3 1/2 innings to go.
ReplyDeleteTrent Mummey is the man
ReplyDeleteIF AU sweeps Ole Miss... we're guaranteed to host a regional...
ReplyDeleteIF AU sweeps Ole Miss and goes deep int he SEC tourney... we could very well end up a national seed...
This team can hit folks...
The only down side tonight is that the infidels have won. Also FL won the regular season.
ReplyDeletemy sensei once said....
ReplyDeleteSTRIKE HARD
STRIKE FAST
NO MERCY SIR!!!!!
WTC, you're slacking. I'm going to be forced to get in front of a computer for play by play, aren't I?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe GA is killing Kentuck.
ReplyDeletehere's the play by play....
ReplyDeleteding dong

ReplyDeleteIs that too much or too little info, PF?
Calendar in to pitch for OM 6'3" 212 JR... making 21st appearance...
ReplyDeleteand they are talking too fast on the radio for me to transcribe it all...
She is a Hallmark rep that calls on Walmarts. Her stores did $1.2 million in Mother's day cards. At @ $3.75 a card, that is a boat load of cards.
ReplyDeleteOle Miss' threat is nothing but a tease. K to end the inning.
ReplyDeleteHunter leads off...
ReplyDeleteWTC ... is she on a boat load of cards?
ReplyDeleteI said UGa would eventually be good. I didn't think it would take them 9 SEC series to get there.
ReplyDeleteIn retrospect, they lost too much (including a Freshman in a tragic scooter accident). Lots of draft picks from 2009.
Morris singles past the 3B down the line...
ReplyDeleteI avoid WalMart like the plague so Mrs. WTC saw none of my money from there.
ReplyDelete0-1 pitch in the dirt to KP...
ReplyDeletepitch high... count 2-1
foul tip... evens up the count
ReplyDelete2-2 swinganduhmiss.... K, 1 out...
ReplyDeletec-mac takes ball 1

ReplyDeleteMiller, you're WAY behind AUPPL's twitter feed.
ReplyDeleteJenks gives it a ride, but it dies at the warning track into a piece of leather...
ReplyDeleteSTRETCH time!
....but WAY more detailed, so I can live with it.
ReplyDeleteHow so PF?
ReplyDeleteFerguson leads off vs. Slade... pitch #37 for Slade is high... 1-0 pitch swinganduhmiss....
