I love the kids playing on the berm in the lightning.
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant to say is that parenting is over-rated.
ReplyDeleteThe weather had cleared by then.
ReplyDeleteGo rain-soaked Tigers!!!
ReplyDeletePF - believe me, my parenting was never overrated. Just ask 2.0.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to eat my chee-tohs now, instead of the 5th inning.
ReplyDeleteHey mane, tweet the final score this time please. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've always been of the impression that if lightning can be seen, the storm is close enough. I see kids and lightning in yours and the Bammham News dude's pics, I think.
ReplyDeleteGame On!!! Go Tigers!!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!! If you are going to hit the batter, at least make him limp for the base.
ReplyDeleteGo coach Paws!!! Get that pitcher's attention.
ReplyDeleteassuming no rain delays Sat, what time will AU play?
ReplyDeleteIt's raining ... though not too aggressively.
ReplyDeleteIf you can see it... it can see you.
ReplyDeletebb,bb,k,k=lotsopitches
ReplyDeleteIs it ok to wear khaki shorts and a button up to a high school graduation?
ReplyDelete25 pitches that inning.
ReplyDeleteKP with the lowest batting avg in the lineup.... and that's only cause he hit .097 against lefties...
ReplyDeletenice conference photo
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteugh. BuyMore packed with customers now. The manager tells me I've got to work one of the registers.
ReplyDeleteI'll check in later.
I don't think Cole Nelson is going to last long in this one.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't looking good at all.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to show Nelson where the bus is.
ReplyDeleteThey need to change pitchers before this gets really, really ugly.
ReplyDeleteNew pitcher needed. I agree.
ReplyDeleteI've given my opinion on Cole already. He should be breaking hearts out of the bullpen after Slade Smith pitches 4-5. Paws isn't paid to listen to my opinion, though.
ReplyDeleteAuburn scores one.
ReplyDeleteCreede Simpson triple.
Hoo-Lee-Hoo!!!
ReplyDeleteCole will not last much longer
ReplyDeleteHard to watch this team struggle at the plate. 3 games in and they are still not hitting well at all.
ReplyDeletePoor defense doesn't help.
ReplyDeleteAU looks disinterested in this game...
ReplyDeleteHe is not fooling anyone out there. Pull him.
ReplyDeleteNot hitting, poor defense and suspect pitching is a recipe to get sent home today.
Why haven't we changed pitchers yet?
ReplyDeleteOdd relay from RF there.
ReplyDeleteHargett takes the throw and makes a tag at second. One problem: No runner was at second.
Poor communication.
71 pitches so far for Nelson.
ReplyDelete2 2/3 innings.
UA pitcher was 45 pitches headed to the 6th. Cole is over 55 in the 3rd. he will be @ 100 by the 4th if he stays in.
ReplyDeleteThe OM pitcher has an ERA of 8+ and instead of playing small ball and getting some hits, our guys a re pressing already and are making him look like Nolan Ryan. Even the announcers are saying he looks great and wondering why he is 1-5 with an 8.74 ERA.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know what AU average for the tourney is so far?
ReplyDeleteHow many KO?
Ding Dong!!!
ReplyDeleteSubs are providing the power. so far on the tourney.
ReplyDeleteCaldwell today and Simpson yesterday.
Those aren't your typical bench guys. Both have seea good bit. Of the field this year.
ReplyDeleteThe OM pitcher is just about finished.
ReplyDeleteTheir pitcher ain't gonna make it much longer.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that as validation of my statement.
ReplyDeleteI love having Bo in our commercial, but it just doesn't have the same production value as UA's. How much did they spend on that thing I wonder...?
ReplyDeleteLOB overdose
ReplyDeleteMy gosh
ReplyDeleteWhy is Nelson still in?
ReplyDeleteFinally.
ReplyDeleteYeah. 85 pitches.
ReplyDeleteSurprised he made it this long.
Tate live blogging, posting, and tweeting. Triple Crown winner amongst the beat hacks.
ReplyDelete"1 run, 1 hit, 1 LOB"
more like 2 hits, one by each team in top of 4th. Ole Miss is going to be bruised after this game.
Ole Miss has put its leadoff guy on base during each of the first five innings.
ReplyDeleteI think I should quit paying attn to AU baseball. They were scoring a trillion runs when I didn't pay them no mind.
ReplyDeleteback to work at the BuyMore service counter.
Let's here it for Ole Miss. They brought a little stoopid back into the game.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps they just saw our error and felt they had to answer.
ReplyDeleteWe may just score enough runs to overcome our otherwise very poor play.
ReplyDeleteCome on Auburn!!!!
Rod Bramblett never returned my earlier e-mail. Come on dude, it's not like you're on vacation, you're at work!
ReplyDeleteAre you close enough to smack him in the head Mr Tate?
Do you know what the difference is between the Big Eleven Network and the SEC ESPN deal is?
ReplyDeleteI could see the Big Ten tournament if I wanted to but all I have is this blog for the SEC until the championship game.
Have you tried ESPN3 Nova?
ReplyDeleteThe biggest difference is I have no interest in watching the big11-1
ReplyDeleteNevermind
ReplyDelete"THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO LIVE EVENTS."
The Big 10 does have the better TV deal.
ReplyDeleteThat was ugly.
ReplyDeleteGood grief.
ReplyDelete5 friggin' errors.
ReplyDeleteIt appears that Verizon finally picked up ESPN3 but it also appears they're not showing this game.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's for the best. I don't think I want to see.
ReplyDeleteI am back from the ChocoScott sabbatical.
ReplyDeleteWhat did I miss?
Just kidding. I was watching.
This game is awful. AU might need for it to end an get some rest for next week.
ReplyDeleteerrors errors errors. argh.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes!!!
ehyou... need details. no satelite, no espn3. no nuthin.
ReplyDelete:) helps to refresh page... DONG.
ReplyDeleteThat's a MULTIPLE-RUN DONG.
ReplyDeleteHunter Morris is my hero. War Eagle.
ReplyDeleteIt's a new ball game folks.
ReplyDeleteSince the game is so late, I can watch on FoxSportsSouth!!! I too am in love with Hunter Morris!!
ReplyDeleteCan we please make no more errors?!
Ole Miss reliever Matt Crouse's line before barking at the home-plate ump:
ReplyDelete4 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs
Two batters later:
4 IP, 3 hits, 3 runs
Tall order, WEG.
ReplyDeleteIn HD you can read alot of the mouths of the coaches and the umpire. Crouse was like yes sir.
ReplyDeleteThat'll teach Crouse to keep his trap shut.
ReplyDeleteThe potential for more significant rain exists.
ReplyDeleteok... 1 more run for AU, then all the rain you can handle.
ReplyDeletewhat have i missed?
ReplyDeleteThe worst weather is over infidel city
ReplyDeleteHelloooo Kennesaw, GA
ReplyDelete1 for 2, better avg than the baseballers.
ReplyDeleteCan a tourney game be called after a certain point in the event of a lengthy rain delay?
ReplyDeleteWhoaaaaa, we're halfway there.....
ReplyDelete(If one team is ahead, of course)
ReplyDeleteThis has been a fun game to watch.
ReplyDeleteOle Miss pitcher really choked, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jay. At least someone got to watch it. I wouldn't say the blog/twitter have been as much fun to watch, but at least it's been informative and entertaining to read.
ReplyDeleteWe're about to start getting to these guys from deep in the OM pen.
ReplyDeleteThis ball game is wearing me out!
ReplyDeletePerfectly executed double play
ReplyDeleteok Tigers... let's do this.
ReplyDeletelowcountry...
ReplyDeleteFYI it was a total fluke double play. It bounced off the 2B to the SS on 2nd.
as Milo Hamilton used to say, "It's time to go get 'em Braves"
ReplyDeletewith the number of errors we've had this game... I'll take one that actually bounced our way. 4-6-3 = 4-6-3. (but thanks for the clarification).
ReplyDeleteI must say that I'm actually looking forward to watching the replay when I get a chance... it's not good baseball, but it's entertaining.
ReplyDeleteExtra innings.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't we win the tie breaker here? I mean the runs and hits are the same, but we have more errors.
ReplyDeleteIt's not THAT entertaining.
ReplyDeleteehyou --i didn't even realize we had our turn yet :-(
ReplyDeleteWhoever wins this game is gonna be hurtin' for certain in the bullpen dept tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteehyou..that's what I am worried about and a 9:30 start
ReplyDeleteyeah... I always want to win, but it might be better on the pitching staff to have an extra day off after this one.
ReplyDelete3 run HR Rebs
ReplyDeleteWell that sucks.
ReplyDeleteMy dad's a MSU grad. I extra hate Ole Miss.
ReplyDeleteouch.
ReplyDeleteWe gotta win. Come on.
ReplyDeleteYikes!!!! Guess we might not have to worry about that 9:30 start.
ReplyDeleteSimpson thought he had a play on that homer. I guess not.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't help yourself, could you?
ReplyDeleteGuess I might make to a regional game.
ReplyDeletewhiff.....
ReplyDeletewell.......2 on
ReplyDeletea little DONG'll do it. well... at least tie it.
ReplyDeletegame over
ReplyDeleteWell crap. OM played better. What do you expect?
ReplyDeletewait... did I say that out loud?
ReplyDeletenight all. thanks again JGT for live-blogging, posting, and tweeting this one... dangit.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened?
ReplyDeleteAlways GREAT to be an Auburn Tiger!
ReplyDeleteGood night all!
Why would Gilmer come to bat for the first time and swing on the first pitch.
ReplyDeleteThis team played badly tonight. Jump on me if wish but they did not deserve to win this game.
ReplyDeleteThey had about 4 wild pitches, a couple passed balls, and 5 errors. Horrible play.
Sad but true words wtc.
ReplyDeleteAdd 3 hit by pitch from our guys.
ReplyDeleteThey actually looked over matched in every game to me.
wtc: Pawlowski said the same thing.
ReplyDeleteHey, considering the previous 5 Auburn teams got to see the tournament from the stands, these guys did well. They have improved, and that is all you can really hope for. Next year, hopefully we will be even better.
ReplyDeleteBravos up 7-1....we got that going for us.
ReplyDeleteSome positives to take away:
ReplyDelete5 errors and you were still in it until the HR in the 10th.
Several of the deep fly balls at Hoover would have been out of the park in AU. so if they host, that is a good thing.
We have a few days to get healed up from injuries.
Maybe the nerves are gone and AU will not be pressing so hard in the next tourney.
That is all I have. Would also say it would be tough to beat LSU 2 games Saturday anyway. Not a reason to accept a loss, just sayin' it would be awful tough to come from the loser's bracket to win this tourney.
Jayg-Thanks for the posts from Hoover. Great job as usual. HABOTN group is very spoiled as we get more than we should expect from this thing.
ReplyDeleteI always thong how well the MA blog for UA is doing these days and then am more than thankful for your efforts.
wtc, you must stop thonging in public.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, fellas.
ReplyDeleteI'm headed home to Le Gump. Y'all behave.
Having a program that finishes words for you sucks sometimes. I like the DROID but my fingers do not like the small touch screen keypad.
ReplyDeletehome to the Gump? Not making a beeline to BCW? I'm hurt ;-)
ReplyDeleteIf you start to miss me, remember, i didnt walk away, you let me go...
ReplyDeleteGroup Tyrik Rollison joined on Facebook.
Kinda funny if you ask me.
Lendale White was cut by the Seahawks, maybe he can go back to play for USC again, they still let professionals play there right?
ReplyDelete98 days til kickoff!
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!!
WARRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
FOOTBALL
ReplyDeleteWe've yet to discuss the potential trap coach Chiz may be walking into this fall. The bowl game win made our record much more respectable and have raised expectations for this year. Of course we've done well in recruiting, but it's not if the rest of the conference will be taking this season off.
We beat the state of Mississippi last year and also beat Tennessee at their place. That is the sum of our conference victories. Throw in a win against WVU and bowl game and that is the grand sum of our quality wins last year. Everybody will be expecting a much better conference record this year. We have imbalances to address against LSU, Arky, and UGA. What about bamer you say? No imbalance there. I’ll worry about them and the other mid majors on our schedule the week we play em.
The general mood is that football is on the upswing, baseball is on the upswing, and basketball is on the upswing. With a long summer to contemplate our impending greatness and the countdown clock to kick already started, expectations will be significantly higher. If we struggle with Arky St, and stumble to Miss State, many fans will be dusting off the panic button and place it in test mode. We’re Auburn, we don’t want to lose to anybody, but LSU, Arky and UGA are moving into must win territory. Here’s to hoping that colleges across the land will come to Gus begging him to be their savior for 2011. Until then, I think we’re going to still need a dose of good fortune to get us thru the season.
so did AU tell all the beat hacks to stay away from BCW in an effort to avoid secondary infractions associated with publicizing stuff?
ReplyDeletewhich Hotties do we have reporting from the Loveliest Village today?
Did not play well enogh to win
ReplyDeleteso
didn't
As someone(s) said earlier it may be a blessing in disguise. Get some rest and heal then go for Omaha.
I'm very disappointed in the pitiful showing from the baseball team this week. They didn't seem to take it seriously. Defense was horrendous, bats were left at home, and I don't recall a team that had worse baserunning skills.
ReplyDeleteRobert Goff says it's time to talk football.
ReplyDeleteApparently the USA soccer team's defenders are D'Antoine Hood, Zac Etheridge, Anthony Gulley Morgan and Mike McNeil.
ReplyDeletethey need to use their hands.
ReplyDeleteTHT, what would you like for me to report? What they ate for dinner? What they're wearing?
ReplyDeleteWe can't cover a recruiting visit. I'll talk to them when they leave ... just like EVERY OTHER TIME prospects are on campus.
Gus is an interesting topic.
ReplyDeleteI like the guy a lot, and I think his future is bright. But even if we smash the record books this season, I question what kinds of jobs will come his way in 2011.
We keep forgetting that he's been a college coach for four seasons -- the first of which he didn't have full control of the offense.
Gus seems to be patient to wait for a big job -- he surely could have had Memphis or Louisiana Tech this year.
Is he waiting for a Big 12 or an SEC job? Which of those schools are prepared to hand the keys to a guy who was at Springdale High School in 2005? Chizik is the poster child for making the wrong leap. I wonder if that has an effect on his plans. Or is he just waiting on Petrino to leave?
JGT - I'd rather hear from local Hotties who may have seen the festivities. This event doesn't warrant "official" coverage. These kids are still 11th graders.
ReplyDeleteTHT...
ReplyDeleteOL from Thib---- (however you spell it), LA is on campus. He's a team mate of Trovon Reed. Reed is also here, by the way.
UAT commits Lamichael Fanning and Brent Calloway are in town. Brother of UAT signee Demarcus Milliner (Pat) is also in town.
RB's Mike Blakely, Dee Hart, Rodney Coe, Jovarius 'Buck' Allen, and Isaiah Crowell are all in town.
Others of note:
Frazier, A Flroence, Keymiya Harrell, Joe Morrow, Ray Drew, Wattz Dantzler, Mitch Smothers, Jermaine Whitehead (MSU commit), Jonathon Rose, Chris Jones, Gabe Wright, Landrum, Swain...
Of course there are many others.... that's a sample of some of the intriguing names to me off the bat.
Some of last year's signees are also in town, including Dyer and Mosely
so did AU tell all the beat hacks to stay away from BCW in an effort to avoid secondary infractions associated with publicizing stuff?
ReplyDeleteJGT - I wasn't surprised you weren't there. Just surprised the al.com crew aren't there... or aren't posting any reports, at least.
ReplyDeleteMiller - why/how did we let another AU High player (LaFanning) commit out of town?
I left the Michael out of LaFanning
ReplyDeleteOK. To clarify.
ReplyDeleteBCW is in progress. We cannot cover it while it is in progress.
I will be there when conditions merit.
THT, to me is seems like the local guys could be hard to land. You've lived your whole life in a small town, do you want to go to college in that same small town? Where you could end up running into your Vacation Bible School teacher form 4th grade when you are out partying? Or do you want to go to a new town that is totally different, and allows you to run around without running into family friends and people like that?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Wake on this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for staying close to home ... but I personally am against staying home.
This coming from a kid who traveled 600 miles to attend college, though.
ReplyDeleteI went 500 miles to attend college, but only because I didn't go to Auburn High.
ReplyDeleteI agree... sometimes there is a such thing as "too close".
ReplyDeleteFanning has a lot of raw upside... but, no one knows exactly what position he'll be in college, or if his work ethic warrants the hype... he was a 3rd down specialist last year for AU high.... Just how good is he?
I trust the coaches know what they are doing with their evaluations.
wake - can't say I blame him for wanting to get away from home. But there were a lot better options, at least as viewed through these sunglasses I got from Cincy.
ReplyDeleteNo argument there THT.
ReplyDeleteI traveled 500 miles to go to Auburn, then ended up graduating from USF which was 13 miles away.
Being 500 miles away was more fun.
Please also keep in mind... that this is May... these kids don't sign until February. That's a whole 8 months from now... 3/4 of a year... In other words, a long time.
ReplyDeleteand still 98 days and 3.5 hours til kickoff
ReplyDeletebama beat UF, It's always great to see the jean short crowd lose, and always sucks to see bama win... anything.
ReplyDeleteExcept the Fulmer Cup... that was enjoyable.
Can't believe I'm about to say this... but, I'll be pulling for the Cornpups tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteMiller, I wouldn't consider doing otherwise. Between that gaytas and the bammers its always a hard decision, but I dislike LSU, but my hatred doesn't even compare to the other two schools.
ReplyDeleteI assure you I have no problem with pulling for any team -- the Osama Yo Mamas, included -- vs. the Cousin Humpers.
ReplyDeleteGeaux Tigers!!!
ReplyDeleteI said I can pull for them, you still won't see me typing that retarded phrase.
ReplyDeleteSupposed to be some recruiting news announced shortly
ReplyDelete
